This is the first time I have ordered from Amazon and I am very disaponted with the outcome. I took advantage of applying for amazon's credit card at the time or the order. I ordered a Hp deskjet 5740 color inkjet Printer from Jennababy on Dec 6, On the 30 of Dec I complained that I still have not recieved the printer, Jennababy wrote and said she had forgotten it and it was still in the trunk of her car and that she would send it the next day and send me the tracking. On Jan 6 I notified Jennababy that I still had not recieved the printer or the tracking information. She replied that it had been sent but had lost the paper work. Today is the 20th of Jan and I still do not have the printer. What is this, fraud? I have recieved the credit card bill due Feb 1st. I'm sure Jennababy has recieved her money. If I do not have the printer very soon I will notify the credit card.

I had received the two HP eStation Zeen AC adapters from JM Prime for my HP eStation printers within 3 days. The items were packaged well and they work great. Instead of charging the tablet on the printer dock, I can now use the charger and take it anywhere I go to charge my tablet. What a great product to buy. Also, when I had a question about my order the seller both emailed me and called me.

Some readers may be thinking, based upon the title, that I'm just rating it 5 stars for no reason other than just to rate something. But truthfully, I have been around the block, when it comes to HP printers. This ones has been wonderful for me. I can use it in many applications (not JUST printing off papers of text) and have been well pleased with the results thus-far. With it, I can print out iron-on applications for shirts, I have printed out large text documents, and have also created a number of various other projects with it. It's worked great. The printing quality for pictures is excellent, or (if you're trying to save ink and only use it for printing out text documents), I am impressed with the quality of printing when using the "fast draft" printing setting. It spits papers out VERY quickly, but does not smudge up the next in the rush - as long as the ink cartridges aren't dirty or nearly empty (which is easy to fix). I have had a couple complaints with it though - primarily with ink. HP ink isn't cheap stuff. The only other thing I've had any problems with, is if I am attempting to print on both sides of each page. On occasion (most likely through my own ignorance) I have had issues where the printer will print the pages out of order, while I am manually flipping pages to print both sides.Other than that, this printer has been wonderful to me. I would highly recommend this printer to anyone else looking for a printer that is fast, accurate, and is issue-free (mechanically speaking).

If I could give this a minus score, I would. It is without doubt the worst printer I have ever used, it does not work. It does not print. It asks you to press the 'ok' button when it's out of paper - there is no 'ok' button!!!!I cannot wait to get rid of this infuriating machine - I always thought that HP made the best printers - not any more it would seem! Utter rubbish!

Recommended with warm fuzzies.This printer joins my home office in addition to a Canon Pixma Pro9000 Professional Large Format Inkjet Printer (9995A001) large format photo printer and an older Epson RX500 All-in-One printer/scanner/copier. I tend to mainly use the Epson for low-color non-photo printing since it seems to be the most wasteful with ink usage (replacing its 6 ink cartridges is not cheap and the printer annoyingly always uses some of the 5 non-black color inks even if you are printing a black-and-white text-only page), with the HP B8550 and Canon Pro9000 being used exclusively for photo printing. I am a serious amateur photographer with way more DSLR cameras, lenses, and gear than can be justified given that I have never earned any income from my photography, but I enjoy printing everything from 4x6 photos to 13x19 enlargements. I frame the 13x19 photos and circulate displays of photos on walls around my house, as well as print photos for friends, so I suppose that is my "payback" for this hobby. My photography interests include people and pets, travel and vacation photos, nature photography and macro close-ups, and John Fielder-inspired wide-angle shots of landscapes and wilderness.The B8550 printer's size is typical for a large format printer. At 23 inches wide, it is overall smaller than my Canon Pro9000 since the Pro9000 also has a top-feed paper tray whereas the B8550 input and output trays both are in front of the printer. In fact, it is probably one of the smallest and lightest photo printers available that can print on 13x19 paper. But if you place this printer on your desk next to your computer, the footprint of this printer will likely occupy a large portion of your desk. My home office consists of one desk, one computer workstation table, four 2-drawer file cabinets, and several bookshelves. Both the Canon Pro9000 and HP B8550 printers now sit on separate 2-drawer file cabinets.Like many printers, the B8550 does not include a USB cable (my Canon Pro9000 also did not include the USB cable, even though I think that it is lame for manufacturers to not include the cable with their printers). I actually had to combine a 10-foot A/B plug USB cable with another USB extension cable in order to place this printer on another 2-drawer file cabinet that was farther away from the USB hub sitting on my desk. When used with the optional HP bt500 - Network adapter - USB - Bluetooth 2.0 EDR , you can connect this printer via Bluetooth. But I have not always been happy with the consistency of Bluetooth connections, and so I decided to use an extension USB cable instead. Another connectivity option that I considered was to use the HP Wireless Printing Upgrade Kit (Q6236A) , but judging from the widely varying opinions about that product, I also stayed away from that option.I found that the top of the 23-inch-wide printer made for a convenient place to put 13x19 photos right after they are printed to ensure the inks are fully dry for a short period before further handling. And one nice aspect of 13x19-inch photo printouts is that they are very similar in size to the full-screen image that I preview on my 22-inch widescreen monitor. I also have to admit that after looking at my digital photos both on a 22-inch widescreen monitor and by selectively printing out 13x19 photos, I rarely print 4x6 or 5x7 photos anymore; 8x10 photos are now the smallest size that I print out.????? The HP B8550 is a quality printer with a variety of thoughtful features built into it that accentuate its usability for those looking for a mid-range large format photo printer. If your main interest is in printing lots of 4x6 photos or if you are just using a low-resolution digital camera with a tendency to take blurry photos, you may be just as happy using a less expensive photo printer since a 13x19 photo will accentuate the imperfections that were caused by a bad camera shot. Also, if you print more documents than photos, a photo printer like this should not be your only primary printer.????? Unlike the Canon Pro9000, the B8550's control panel includes a 2.4-inch color LCD display. It has a surprising variety of built-in functions. You can insert various memory cards into the printer and, just using the control panel without needing to access the computer, perform functions such as:? Perform "Red Eye Removal" editing on your photos.? Print out ruled notebook paper, graph paper, music paper, a task checklist, and even a fairly challenging maze.? Clean and align the printhead.? I am a normally sane woman who was driven to the verge of insanity by this horrible printer. It is a great example of "You get what you pay for." $30....Well maybe I didn't even get $30 worth. It is a piece of junk, that only worked intermittently. When it stopped printing, the worst was to come. The outsourced tech "help" was the worst I have ever experienced. I spent literal hours (three one night) on the phone with the tech "help"....who had me to things such as open the door on the printer three times, unplug it four times, and everything but do a rain dance around it. The only real question is why did I continue to try with the "helpers" and to follow their inane instructions. The sane thing to do would have been to toss it in the junk and consider it a lesson learned. Don't buy it. Junk. Junk. Junk. P.S. Make sure you read ALL the reviews. HP will put a good review above this....but read ALL. Save your money. HP Deskjet D1660 Printer (CB770A#B1H)

I have a hp 3210 all in one printer....that I have had for about 5 yrs....and use for all my printing needs ...much in photo printing...this 6 ink printer has always done great on photo work...this reworked 3210 hp that I bought about 2 months ago..I made it my main printer and the not refurbished old printer.. is my back up....this latest bought printer is quieter than the older one...I have two other printers that I do not use much ..the are good but not but 3 inks and the photo work is not nearly as good...the reason for 4 stars .. not 5 stars is the glass was dusty inside and the outside shows hard use in the past...remember this one is refurbished.

I bought this item to use with an old HP Deskjet 712C printer. Unfortunately, I didn't look at the back of the printer before ordering the cable, because the printer had only a parallel port, and the cable has USB and USB 2.0 plugs, so it's completely incompatible.However, the company was very polite when I emailed them and described the situation, and they offered a full refund with shipping.

I agree with all the positive comments on this workhorse of a printer. I have been using it since 1999 and haven't been able to find a replacement printer since, that is as reliable, user-friendly, functional, full-featured and perfect as this printer. I'm so upset that drivers for Windows 7 are not, nor are they apparently being considered for this printer. Shame! I have been able to use it on my Win7 system using "HP Deskjet 930C/932C/935C" drivers as some help forums have suggested but it is a compromise that removes some cool PhotoSmart features like the ink cartridge level information and other useful things. Too bad - altho I still haven't given up. I hate all the new printers that are out lately that have these elaborate CD install process that includes all kinds of junkware and extras that need to be installed on every device before simple prints are attempted. It didn't used to be this way.

My wife needed a small portable printer for her job. After researching portable printers decided on the HP. Printer was defective out of the box, carriage would not move to the load position as a result I was unable to load the ink cartridges. I called HP support and the first contact was unable to resolve the problem, obviously reading from a script and asking me to first explain the problem, which I did and then after being put on hold briefly two or three times was asked the same questions once again. Was then transferred to the "Printer Expert" who walked me through the same procedures one more time and then finally admitted the printer was defective and indicated they would send me a another printer. After some additional questions I was told I would be receiving a REFURBISHED PRINTER. I replied that was unacceptable and asked to be transferred to a supervisor or manager. I was transferred to a manager in Canada but was told there were no "Printer Managers" available at the moment, the "PC Manager" took all the information and said that they would forward the information to the "Printer Manger". They would then make a decision after reviewing the case and call me back within 24 hours. I had enough of HP! I called Amazon, explained the situation, they overnighted me a new printer, emailed me a return free shipping label to return the defective printer. Received the new printer which was fine and worked well. I realize that sometimes you receive a lemon but the HP support was totally unacceptable. I would recommend the printer but hope you do not have to call HP support.I couldn't be happier with the GREAT SERVICE I received from Amazon-they are the GREATEST!!! By the way I never did get a call back from the HP Printer Manager.

I got this printer with some credit card points through a giftcard to Staples. It's huge, that's for sure.It prints decent photos, but I was never sure that they were as good as my old Canon printer.It eats ink. Maybe they all do, but I felt like I replaced cartridges much more frequently than I did with my older printer (which also had the different colors individually, etc).It doesn't do a good job of feeding paper...and I would often have to fuss with it to get it to load larger sheets. It would often refuse to run sheets that were off sizes. (I got it primarily for scrapbooking, and I like to run randomly sized sheets through for journaling spots, etc).PRINTHEAD FAILURE!!! At about 14 months, I ran kind of low on black ink...replaced that cartridge, and then started getting printhead errors. So, it conked out just past the warranty. Urgh. I tried troubleshooting via online techsupport, I tried cleaning, I re-set it. Nothing. Hubby did something and it is working, but the printhead will not align, so I can't really print anything besides off color off line things.Customer service was non-existent. It takes forever to get through to a person or the right department. I spent one afternoon bouncing back and forth between two departments that thought I should be with the OTHER department. One time I called and they said that they DO NOT SELL a replacement printhead. Whaat??? Then I call and they say that it will be $80 for a replacement. (I got it for $200--that's almost 50% of the cost of the whole unit!??!) They did say that I could get a $50 credit for sending in the old one...if I wanted to purchase another one. (Why oh why would I want another one?) Then, a couple of days later--the guy calls me back and asks if I've decided if I'm interested in getting a new printer. Wow. They've got the time and money to track down people to buy something else, but not enough to make a decent product.It also seriously bothers me--their company plan is that I'm just supposed to throw this thing into a landfill and buy another printer every year??? Holy waste batman.Get something else. This one is not worth the money if the printhead fails!

If you use a lot of sheet media you will be miserable! Difficult to load and very very slow once you jump through all the hoops. Print driver software very unfriendly. If I had not gotten a killer deal on this I would gone back to Epson printers.The print quality is outstanding and is thrifty on ink. Printing on roll media works well. No issues with ink clogging, but replaced the red ink print head once under warranty.

This printer is an abomination. It hardly works, and when it does you still need to fight with it. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, no holds barred. I wouldn't recommend any HP printer to anyone. They make quality computers and accessories, with the exception of their printers/scanners. These things will only eat your money, your time, your patience, and your will to live in a world with electricity. Save yourself

I used this printer wirelessly and it was constantly having problems getting recognized. I spend a lot of time trying to get it connected and the last time I wasn't able to get it to work at all. This makes all the features useless. Forget about the Zeen thing - nothing like an iPad - terrible device. Finally, if you can print some things for a while you will be buying lots of ink. The printer should be free because they will make all their money on the ink. But that is only if you can get it to work. I think my only satisfying option at this point would be take a sledgehammer to it like in Office Space. It's sad because this product did have hope on the drawing board.

First, I should state that we bought our HP8550 from a source other than Amazon, so nothing herein reflects in any way on Amazon. In fact, we've had only good experience with Amazon itself. Also, in case it's pertinent to what follows, we are running Windows 7, 64-bit, on newish HP computers, and using the latest driver HP has made available for this printer with this operating system.Now, having just listened to my wife raging at our HP8550 printer for about a half hour while she attempted to print ONE 5" X 7" photograph, I decided to look at reviews of the same model here on Amazon and see if we're alone in our hatred of this expensive pile of... stuff. It turns out that: (a) I should have given more weight to Amazon reviews before we bought this dog, because (b) the less glowing reviews are a virtual litany of the problems we've had with ours from the get-go: claims of lacking paper when paper is clearly and properly in place, edge guides set, etc.; claims that photo paper has the glossy side facing up instead of down -- which we repeatedly check, and find false; frequent bouts of prolonged whirring and thumping and clanking for no apparent useful purpose -- at least, not useful to us since nothing comes of it. In addition, I don't think the printer has ever yet succeeded in pulling in and properly handling an envelope; etc., etc., ad infinitum.Furthermore, past experiences with HP photo inkjets make me suspect that if we ever do manage to get enough photos printed with this device to actually start running the least bit low on ink -- which will occur WAY before it actually NEEDS another cartridge -- we'll start having to put up with its "crying wolf" for months (or years, at this rate) before it actually must have ink.Apparently, HP has put some kind of spell on us that makes us forget our ghastly history with their inkjet photo printers and thus falling prey again to their marketing expertise. If you haven't started down that trail yourself, consider yourself warned.

I have had the 24" Z3200 (non PS) for almost two years now and have probably printed close to 500' of roll paper on it, including prints for my recent show. Unlike the previous reviewer I have had nothing but great output and a great printing experience. My only regret is that I didn't purchase this printer sooner. It has, literally, revolutionized my printing. I have had to feed some types of paper one or two extra times, but never more than that. The inks seem to last forever compared to my smaller printers, above and beyond their larger size cartridges. Print quality is excellent. I love it, enough so that I am looking to upgrade to the 44" model.I give it 5 stars.

I bought this printer for photo printing and it does a very good job - good enough for prefessional work and gallery displays as long as you don't need super punchy colors. The prints are archival if you use HP inks and paper (which are both very goood and reasonably priced). The set-up in Vista was easy, and I dug up a printer profile online that I easily loaded into Elements and Lightroom. If you calibrate your monitor and use the printer profile, the print match to the monitor is quite good, usually requiring minimal tweaking. The printer looks great just sitting there (looks like an Apple design), but is noisy and clunky while printing. My ink consumption has been reasonable, using much less ink than my previous Epson and Lexmark printers, and the cost of the 564XL cartridges are reasonable given their capacity (the XLs are the only way to go). Do not use Ultra Gamut inks in this printer! I tried them and they were a nightmare. Horrendous color, clogged heads, deceptive customer service, the works. HP inks aren't that expensive, especially when purchased using the Staple rewards program and cartridge recycling program, and they give consistent results and I have yet to use the head cleaning routine while using them (even after the printer has sat unused for a couple of weeks - refreshing reliability after my experiences with endlessly clogging Epson printers). Print quality is excellent, up to a point: if you need really punchy, highly saturated reds, yellows and oranges, you might be disappointed. You quickly hit a maximum saturation with these colors that is below what other printers, like the higher end HPs and Canons, can deliver. This isn't a problem with greens, blues and cyans on this printer, they pop. The bottom line is that this is a really good printer that yields really good, big prints for a great price up front when purchasing it, and down the road when purchasing consumables.

I placed order for this printer on July 29, 2011. I had been out of town but was told it arrived timely. When I came back I attempted to install software but had a problem with it. I called for a return and I spoke to Jarred. He very politely indicated a website for quick help. I insisted on returning and he very nicely provided RNA and return info. Before re-packing, I decided to attempt one more time, based on Jarred's suggestions, and this time I was propmptly successful. The interaction with this company's representative left me with a good feeling and they handled the possibility of return without a hassle nor atttitude.I am so comfortable with this company, I have just ordered a battery for my new printer from them.I commend this company for it's poicies and the excellent execution by their representatives.

This printer seemed ok at first and was printing nicely; however, when it came time to replace the cartridges it simply would not work anymore. It would either print some of what I needed correctly or print all of it but with the text all messed up. It keeps locking up now and saying printer out of ink when it is clearly full. This thing is not worth the investment at all

The print, copy and scan functions are reasonable, and the ePrint and airPrint functions perform as advertised.HP, however, advertises the C510a as an all-in-one office device. Buyers should be aware that the fax functionality is provided through a partnership with eFax. The 'free' eFax service only attaches inbound faxes in a proprietary .EFX format - one the device cannot print. If you want to receive faxes in a format the device can print, you must purchase a 'premium' service from eFax. Short of that, neither HP nor eFax will support you when you indicate that the device does not print inbound faxes. Buyers should also be aware that eFax's web-based fax forwarding ability (faxes are forwarded to external email addresses) is blocked by many email providers.HP needs to do one of the following: a) update the device software to print eFax attachments (.efx); b) arrange to have eFax send fax attachments in a format the device can print; or c) stop advertising the c510a as an all-in-one as it does not print received facsimiles unless the customer purchases an additional service from eFax.

HP 470 is a piece of crap. I fought with it for over a year! It is difficult to install or diagnose. It takes forever to decide if it wants to print (or not). If it does print, it's slow. Totally stops printing when it thinks any one of the colors or black is low - I should have the option to keep printing; not be overruled by a stupid machine! It doesn't like refilled cartridges. Never did get wireless to work.

I thought this printer was a good deal with a $200 rebate, and maybe it would have been if Canon would honor the rebate. I have had to send additional items twice now, and now they will not honor it because the cardboard is missing behind the upc code. I don't think that they ever plan on honoring these rebates, making you jump through to many hoops, then if you do, they say, sorry, you didn't do this, so no rebate for you. Had terrible experience with calling in, they were rude, and did not listen, just giving me the run around. Very disappointed in what I thought was an honest company.

I have had many printers over the years by HP but I have never had one that was nothing more than a piece of junk. So far I haven't been able to print one thing. It keeps jamming up and the paper feeds only 1/2 way through and when I want to cancel the print job it won't let me and the only way to do it is to shut down the entire computer and reboot. Once I reboot the job is gone and 1 empty piece of paper will clear the machine. What a waste of money and what an awful piece of merchandise for HP to put on the open market.

Just received my new HP OfficeJet H470 Mobile Printer from my daughter for my birthday and so far it's living up to everything I expected! After reading some of the past reviews I was a little worried due to the fact that my Acer laptop has Windows7, but with the disk HP provided everything installed beautifully and it's been printing documents and photos nicely. For professional-quality photos I would suggest using the HP 99 Photo Cartridge though. I also received the HP Mobile Printer Sleeve made of sturdy imitation leather. It fits very nicely and the printer can still be used with it on. It will help cushion and keep my new printer safe from damage while traveling. Altogether both items weigh a total of 6 lbs. I usually don't give reviews, but I am very satisfy and would definitely recommend both of these items!

I'm an extremely experienced PC owner (20+ years; home networking, advanced machines at work, etc.). We bought this device to replace an aging HP OfficeJet multifunction device that wore out.Installation was easy, but HP makes you install a bunch of stuff I didn't want - e.g. Web printing, supply ordering, web photo printing (why would I want Web photo printing if I bought this?), etc. They also put a "special" tool bar on my browser that, despite two installs, and update, etc., doesn't work.It is NOT a real fax - it will "scan" one page at a time and email to a web-based fax service - you must register with the service and you get 20 pages/month free - more will cost you a monthly subscription fee! There is no phone line connector on this device - a HUGE disappointment to me.I still can't get it to scan - I can't even find how. Control Panel won't install it, even with the driver CD, in my Vista 32 bit machine. And, I don't know if it will scan more than one page at a time, once I figure out how. This is a HUGE disappointment for me since I need to do multi-page scans to PDF.The color touch panel is okay but touchy and seems to be a mini tablet and Barnes and Noble eReader - complete with ability to link to your B&N account and download (I presume) Nook books. I'm not interested.The print quality is good, but overall this machine seems to be a software nightmare to me, and it isn't what I expected for scanning and faxing. I would not buy it again, and I may never buy any HP product again.

HP service center called and worked with me for two weeks replacing parts and uploading software to fix my printer. Thanks Cesar from HPI'm spending another hour trying to load paper into my HP printer, every day it rejects the paper loaded. The process of reloading takes an hour because the printer continues to reject paper rolls. Sheet loaded media is worse. I can't believe HP would sell a product that doesn't work. My frustration with this printer runs so deep I will never buy another HP product of any kind. Dave Jenkins Midwest Photo Pro.

The cost of this printer in exchange for durability and portability is well worth it. I have been using this printer during my deploymnet to Afghanistan, and it has been a workhorse. It sits in an Army tent in the middle of the desert on top of an old field desk. The print quality is comparable to any full-size HP printer, and the speed is great. I also purchased a cover for it to keep the sand at bay, and I will soon be getting a battery and Wi-Fi adapter, so that I can bring it down to the USO. Good job HP.

I love my HP C4180 printer and was dismayed to say the least when it stopped working. I ordered a new power supply with the hope that it would solve my problem, which it did! It arrived quickly, was packaged nicely and I was back in business in no time at all. Sure beat buying a new printer.

The abpve review is right on. I bought this in order to use the ipad for printing. It is a piece of junk. Always needs to be reset, ink runs low quickly. Requires 20-45 minutes every time I use this printer. Waste of money. Did buy from amazon. Hopeful that other companies will be offering an airplay system to work with apple as this was the worst crap I have ever purchased from HP.

I came across this printer used for free. After having used it for about 1 month I have found it to be an outstanding machine. I am impressed with it's speed while on a network. All manufacturers claim to have the fastest and best, I truly rate this as one of the best for a SOHO setup. Due to it's rather small footprint (considering it is a laser) it is easy to locate anywhere in a small office setting. First page out is only a few seconds and seems to be faster than many other printers. Fast print speed adds to value. When it wears out, this is one printer I will be sad to replace.

I purchased this printer because of the wireless/bluetooth printing capabilities, and because it is nice and small and compact. Unfortunately, the bluetooth device did not appear to work at all, which is the reason we returned it. I was also very disappointed in the sheer amount of our time that trying to set up had wasted. (My husband is a director of IT and I am a software engineer and we can usually get anything working. If we had trouble...I can't imagine how someone who is not tech-savvy might do this.)The install cd that comes with the product would never finish installing: not on my mac and not on our pc, either. It crashed repeatedly. So we searched for the software online (which was much more difficult than it should have been as well), downloaded and installed and tried again but no success. When the poorly-written and somewhat confusing instructions failed us, we tried many different install options but none of them could get the bluetooth working. It constantly told us to insert the bluetooth device (which was inserted and lit up..."on").So maybe we just got a bad device. But we were further irked that we had wasted so much time on it. Installing a printer should be a snap.

When you install the HP printer software it installs two different scan driver interfaces: TWAIN and HP-WIA. Why are there two interfaces? What is the difference? I don't know. They both suck in different ways and both have stupid default that you cannot change. Neither interface remembers the last settings you used. You have to reset all the options for EVERY scan. Both default to 200 DPI. Why 200 DPI? The TWAIN driver gives you more options, but it ALWAYS turns on automatic color adjustments and sharpness enhancement. You should never, ever allow your scan device to automatically adjust your pictures for you. You should do this in a paint program or photo adjustment tool where you will get much better results. All I freakin want from a scanner is to just give me the raw data and I'll take it from there. I understand that some people just want to be spoon-fed, but at least let expert users change the default.This printer has a little color-LCD screen with menus and stuff to lure you into the notion that it might be easy to do quick scans without having to open a scan program on your computer. Near the LCD screen is a HELP button. Do not be fooled by this button. They might as well have labeled it the "RTFM Button". You should be suspicious of any feature on an HP device that claims to be helpful because if you press the HELP button you can be sure that it will be in no way helpful. Most often it seems to actually mock you. When you press the HELP button it will either tell you that you should "refer to device documentation" or it will tell you exactly what you can already see printed on the other printer buttons. For example, if you press the "Copy Menu" button then press "HELP" it will tell you "Press START Copy Black or START Copy Color to start the copy." Ah! Yes, I see. This must refer to the two buttons "START Copy Black" and "START Copy Color". These are the ONLY two buttons next to the Copy button. So the HELP button confirms that I have not hallucinated these two buttons.The scanner has the "feature" of scanning directly to a memory card instead of going through your computer. There are four different memory card sockets on the front. For reasons that I am sure are stupid they don't include USB as one of the sockets. I'm guessing that nobody ever wants to scan to a memory card so that they can view the scan in their camera. Probably most people want to scan to a memory card so that they can plug it into a computer later on. Some computers do have memory card sockets, but all of them have USB sockets. So, why does HP let you scan to camera memory but not to USB memory?When you scan directly to a memory card it gives no options. They decided that you would only ever want to scan at 200 DPI. I think the optical resolution of the printer is 600 DPI or highter. I could find no way to set the default. Hmmm... this reminds me of the TWAIN and WIA scan interfaces. 200 DPI is a stupid default, so I thought there must be a way to change this. In a moment of weakness, I pressed the HELP button: "refer to Device Documentation." Curse you, HP!If you are familiar with the Peanuts comic strip then you know the ones where Lucy entices Charlie Brown with a football setup to punt and she always pulls the football away at the last second and Charlie Brown falls on his back. This seems to be the game that HP is playing with this device.I could go on more about how much the printer part of this device sucks, but I'm tired and angry. It's just as bad as the scanner... I should go outside and get some fresh air.I hate this device.

As with most printers these days I feel ripped off by manufacturers. The ink seems to run out much faster than quoted. Even when not using print cartridges ink dries out so if you don't print color often you will be paying a small fortune per print.I changed the ink cartriges printed 5 large building plot plans (very low ink requriements, mostly white space) then didn't use printer for about 3 months. When I went to use the printer again it was out of ink. I've owned this printer about a year now.I didn't appreciate the junk software (for example yahoo toolbar 100% unrelated to printing) I was forced to install in order to get their printing drivers. I also had to install HP's photo program as well, another thing I did not want or need.I'd say this is a par printer with a bonus of large or small print sizes.

My husband is into photography so I bought this photo printer as an early annavesary gift for him to get use to using it and he loves it. It prints fantastic photos he has gone through most of the photo he has in his portfolio he wanted to enlarge and they turned excellent. I am suprise what this printer can do the only draw back is the ink but like any printer that ink is always a draw back especially in a photo printer. So I told family and friends if they want to give him gifts and want gift ideas give him ink for his photo printer so he would always have a supply of ink so that part is taken care of. But all in all this is a fantastic printer and don't let the looks fool you it doesn't have to big or expense to do an excellent job pertaining to your needs. My husband is not easy to please when coming to things like this but when said he loved it and was amazed at what it can do I knew I made and excellent choice in purchasing this GIFT for my hubby for his hobbie photography.

Very happy with this printer, & this is the only portable way to print with an iPad (or iTouch).I have a Virgin Mobile MIFI 3G wireless hotspot. I needed a portable printer to carry in my briefcase to work everyday. I can't hook up personal peripherals to the work network but I needed a printer, & I couldn't leave the printer at work overnight either.I don't find Apple's solution of buying these huge printers to use their Airprint logistically feasible - those printers are HUGE!In addition, there are no apps that support printing via Bluetooth either, so this was the only portable printing solution for a iTouch or iPad.I am using the iPad app PrintCentralPro to work with this printer.Portable printing with iPAD - SOLVED! :)

I bought one of these as it was Linux ready and for the low $30 price. I have been using it for approximately one year now with no problems. The only knock of course is that the cartridges do not last long. However they can be refilled and I have refilled the black now twice. With Linux there have been none of the run problems other reviewers have complained of so it seems likely the problem may be with the Windows software.

We've been buying these for years. They may be an old model, but for the price, they are hard to beat. This ultra-durable, fast and reliable duplexing model has served our small office (with a relatively high volume of printing) very well. I just hope they don't stop selling toner for them...

HP Photosmart eStation All-in-One (CQ140A#B1H)I bought this printer for the family for Christmas. I have quite a few HP products and expected an easy set-up - boy was I surprised. In trying to connect one of the household computers to this I encountered an error message "HPFirewall Exception Plug-In has stopped". The error message then went on tell me that my Symantec virus protection product was the culprit. I won't go through all the gory details, but 5 hours later I finally got this product to install properly. I spent 3 hours on the phone with HP tech support and they were no help at all, even though a Google search shows that this problem crops up quite a bit. It turns out that there is a faulty software component on the installation disk and the problem has nothing to do with Symantec or other firewall/virus protection products. In one of the forums I finally found a work around. The other unfortunate thing about this product is that HP seems to think that it is their right to sell space on their screens so that you have to look at ads for products and services that you have no interest in. I am reasonably computer literate and trying to figure out how to suppress these is not easy. This is extremely annoying.

Have been using this unit the past two weeks and am very happy with it. I have used all of its functions and each performs fine. I tested the unit with iOS 4.21s new Airprint feature using my iPhone and iPad and it works fine. The only problem the unit has is that the firmware for the Zeen unit still needs more development work. Occasionally the unit is slow to respond to user input. Auto Update capability is included so that the user can apply future updates. Print, Copy, and Scan quality is excellent. So why on earth did I not give it 5 Stars?It has the same old problem that HP has had for the last few years. Ink costs are too high. I did some pricing on Amazon, at local Costco, and Sams Club and other merchants and have found that to replace all the cartridges with XL versions(which provide the lowest per page cost)cost [...] bucks. If you buy at regular prices it will be over 110. HP cartridges contain very little ink for the money. This was one of the "innovations" instituted by former CEO Carly Fiorina(and California Senate candidate).Conclusion: Fabulous product. Fabulous design. Outstanding performance. Too bad HP has to shaft you on ink costs. By spending about 25 cents more on each ink cartridge they could give you twice as much ink.

I am happy with this printer. I set it up yesterday and had a few kinks in the installation process. I was able to reinstall the printer software and all the kinks went away.The wireless component is awesome. The printer was able to see the wireless network that I am connected to and was able to use the exact settings without a manual entering of them from me.I can print both via USB and wireless without issues.I am using Windows 7 and installed the software with the Blue Windows 7 CD.I hope this info is helpful and I am happy with my product.
