I ordered this and ran ran a race 14 mile obstacle race in mud and rain. The video turned out really good and was comfortable during the race.

I STARTED WITH MY OLD AA BATTERY GOPRO AND HAD FUN WITH IT TILL THE BATTERIES RUN OUT. I UPGRADED TO THIS MODEL AND I'M GLAD I DID. THE BATTERY LIFE IS GREAT AND THE EASY OF USE IS JUST A BREEZE. I CAN USE THIS ON MANY THINGS LIKE MY MOTORCYCLE, BIKE, BOAT, CAR, REMOTE CONTROL TRUCK,SKATEBOARD, SNOWBOARD.. I CAN GO ON AND ON. GO PRO IS A UNIVERSAL DREAM.

Well, I was very surprised to receive the camera than does not turn on... After several days of frustration, I've found solution here - [...] Actually I was ready to send it back, but then managed to turn it on after many attempts. It seems to work properly now.
Camera is ok, but note that underwater video will be blury. So you will additionally need blurfix to film decent underwater videos..

This was a gift for my younger brother who has a passion for photography. He is doing his final year specialization in Visual Communication and I thought that the GoPro Camera HD Hero2 edition will come of use for his projects. I was right he truly loved my gift. The camera is bought mountable and wearable. The Hero2 offers options for filming that include 1080p, 960p and 720p. The camera is both shockproof and waterproof and can be used for underwater photography as well. The Lithium ion battery can be recharged and gives about 2.5 hours of non-stop photography.

My family and I participate in may outdoor sports and I was tired of seeing my familiy's adventures through a view finder. So I purchased this camera to film a charity bike ride that I was participating in with my daughter. It worked very well. I used the default setting and the image quality was great. I took it out of the box, charge the camera and attached to my helmet with the included strap. The sound was great and there wasn't any wind noise. I have used a flip camera while skiing and the only thing I could hear is the wind rushing by.
I had one issue the first time I used it. Since it was on my helmet I could tell if I was taking pictures or movies. I also couldn't tell if the unit was on or off. The unit does beep when you turn it on and change functions but it is not easy to hear all the time. GoPro is coming out with a remote unit to allow the user to control the functions while the unit is mounted. This should make it easier but more expensive.
I recommend that you get an extra battery. The battery runs out way before the memory does. I followed the GoPro recommendation to get a large memory card. If you are filming in 1080p you are going to need it.
All considered I am happy with the camera and look forward to seeing the world outside a view finder

I recently purchased this for my husband for his birthday. He is an avid hunter and fisher and he has already filmed 3 hunts and a fishing trip. He has definitly put it to great use in 2 1/2 weeks time. It was a great purchase and i would highly reccommend it.

The Gopro camera is well worth it. Excellent 1080i HD quality video makes for great time lapses and exposures. I haven't been able to put it down ever since I recieved the item. It has great durability and very convenient to travel and handle. Only criticism I have about this is the audio is not that great even with the skeleton door but the video quality is fantastic. Also would suggest getting the LCD bacpac for it if you want to see what you are shooting, that is also well worth the cost.

awesome for the beginner camera man. i will use this mostly for diving. i took it out yesterday and it preformed great. we did 3 dives around 100' and the only down fall is the battery life. i got only about 1.5 hours of video. i went ahead and bought the extra battery today. i do definatly notice the blur from the stock camera housing. i wish GoPro made a "dive" version along with their other setups. i purchased the dive housing today as well and i will review it as soon as i get to use it.

This works great i just wish i knew the Hero 3 came out a week later. Wish i had the remote and Wifi!! But Still i am very happy.

There are so many reviews about this device that I'm not gonna waste my time. It's made my life so much more fun. I can't wait to film my next day with it. It also offers so many mounting capabilities that virtually anything is possible with it.
Negatives: Get an LCD BacPac if you're doing point and shoot, otherwise, good luck.
(Main) Positives: Too many mounting abilities. This Motosport addition is probably the best idea if you have a helmet sport. Longboarding, skiing, snowboarding, biking, etc...
Time lapse, wide lens, HD, durability, waterproof, overall image stability, 11mp pictures, photo burst, size, weight, everything is great on this device. Get it.

Bought this to record racing events. Held off writing the report until it got some use. VERY Pleased with the product provides great videos and stays put on the car! Recommend to anyone

I use the HD Hero2 mainly to record cockpit video from inside the airplane I fly. I use the suction cup mount attached to the right passenger window. The wide POV makes sure nothing is missed out of frame. I also use a special audio cable to record the cockpit intercom and interactions with air traffic control to a Sony digital recorder (for my editing purposes, recording audio to a seperate device is better).
I have been in digital video since 1992, and have used everything from 8, Hi8, DV and HDV. I currently use a Canon XH-A1 prosumer HDV camera for my business.
This little camera is incredible in every way. It has met and surpassed all of my expectations, which are high. The GoPro people are obviously adrenaline and technology junkies, because this little camera fits both like a glove.
I use Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 and have no problems importing or editing the footage. I import as native 1080.
I have bought the suction cup and tripod mount, and both have worked great.
There is a reason why this $299 camera is being used in Hollywood productions, right next to $30,000 professional cameras. It rocks.
I really cannot understand people who give this camera anything less than four stars. I give it five stars, and if I could I would give it six.
Stop sitting on the fence and go buy this camera. You will not regret it.

Awesome camera. Easy to use. Lots of attachments. Long battery life. Great Pictures. Well worth the price. I have used the one touch video feature and the time lapse. Both worked very well. Now to find a good movie maker to edit with.

I think these little cameras are great. It comes with a wide assortment of mounts that you can use. I use the sticky mount on the top of my helmet because I think it gives a more open view than the side. I plan on using the suction cup mount on my car, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Heck I even filmed a nerf gun war my son and I did at the house. Heck my dad thought it was a waste of money until he saw a video. Now he wants to put it on his bass boat while its running wide open. I haven't had the chance to take it under water yet. I'm not sure about the other packages, but my package came with 2 cases. Solid back (underwater)and a open back case that allows sound in. The only downside is that you have to become good at using a video editor on your computer. I use the basic windows movie maker, but I'm doing basic cutting down and adding music. In my opinion it gives me the option to film stuff I always wanted to. This camera is versatile with pleanty of mounting options. I've read plenty of reviews of people making their own mount to get a different view. I hope this review helps you make a decission. They are worth it, but know what your getting.

This GoPro Hero2 is perfect for what is was designed to do. That is take helmet and head mounted videos. You can use this water or snow skiing. I plan to buy the GoPro underwater unit to take it scuba diving during my planned winter vacation in Maui. I can view the video instantly on my IPad 2, edit and send to my friends or FB. The cost/benefit on the GoPro HERO 2 is very high!

I have no need for a toy like this but I bought it anyway. I enjoy the time lapse feature more than the others, but I am using all of the features. I am rather sedintary but appreciate the motivation this camera gives me to get up and move!

love this camera. Wide angle without an lcd screen is fine. It captures everything in high quality and smooth frame rate (i.e. 60 fps). The editing software is too simple but you can always use something more advanced.

This is a fantastic product, and very well made.

Takes incredible pictures, especially with a lot of sunlight
Takes fluid video and good slowmo
Good stop motion
As waterproof as anything can get!

Battery life sucks
1080p sucks. It needs a 1080p 60 fps option. If you're doing anything faster than walking, never use 1080p, use 720p with the 60 fps (it's twice the frames per second, so it's less blurry).
Takes forever to charge (much longer than the battery lasts)
Case scratches easily (but is very strong)
All in all, a good purchase, but should be priced at more like $250

We are waiting for that money shot but having fun in learning the ins and outs of what this product can do. It really is an amazing little camera and the semi fish eye lens gives some very interesting shots. Can't wait to go snorkeling with it in December.

Im going Scuba Diving in a few weeks and ordered a GoPro to take some underwater shots. ( bought a flat lens for under water separately ) I had some Amazon credit so I bought it online. Unfortunately the box that Amazon sent me was obviously previously opened and the camera was definitely used. The cables in the box were all jumbled up. The camera started with movie #12 which means someone made 10 movies with it before I got it. I know I can go through the hassle of returning it for exchange or refund. The camera seems fine - no dead pixels or scratches on the lenses. It looks like all the pieces are in the box.
It just sucks that since GoPro pretty strongly controls prices I could have purchased the same thing locally for less money if you include shipping and I could have been sure it was new and unopened.
We played with the camera a little yesterday and it takes pretty good movies - Amazing for its size - Easy to use - The ONLY thing I would suggest as an improvement is better night time ISO and offering a ball head bracket to make aiming the camera easier when using suction cup mount ....

Camera is pertty amazing but like a JEEP you need to add alot of accessories to get the full experience. Plan on investing alot more money that the inital purchase price.
