This is a great little video camera. We took it to Hawaii. Got some great skim board footage. HD looks great on the big screen. Only problem...no way to watch the video on the device.

Got this for my boyfriend as an early birthday present for his motorcycle. It's absolutely amazing! He's currently using it for his motorcycle, our scooters, and his fiddy and during the winter, he will be using it for snowboarding. The waterproof casing is awesome as well. Shipped immediately, got it in time for his track session that weekend and overall, we're very happy customers!

It is a smaller than i thought it.
And touching is very soft.
when I had tested it in swimming pool, I got a very good result.
If anybody baulks to get it or not, I recommend strongly to buy it.

The new GO PRO HD HERO2 has outstanding picture quality and a wide angle shot. There are many pros and cons for this camera though. I bought mine from best buy but thought I should help some of you out who are thinking about buying this. The new go pro was a great buy at only $300! I took mine out to record me riding my quad. I bought a HDMI cable so the videos could be watched on the TV in the trailer. I came back with 4 videos on the go pro and was excited to see how it worked. The first to videos turned out fantastic the quality was simply amazing. The next two videos were black the in tire video, just black all i could here was audio. I was extremely disappointed, but since I had the highly recommended warranty I returned it and got a new one that works perfectly.
Pros:
Outstanding Video and picture quality
Menu is way easier to navigate then previous version
Cons:
The audio is very poor and sensitive it picks up lots of noise while touching the go pro and virtually no noise while recording.
It only recorded in black in some of the videos.

The seller is top notch, highly recommended for ease and speed the order came to my doorstep. The camera is superb, although gopro could improve low light to night capture capability in the next generation. Otherwise, this is the camera to get, as it beats some dedicated handy cams on the market. I'm not too negative about the nickel and diming of accessories, mounts, and such, the camera is a good value as is.

It's a great little camera, videos are very clear, the sound is excellent. I used the suction cup on the outside of my car and it stayed there even at 100 miles/h.

Love the gopro2 does great and really clear quality videos for all my activities. So far no real draw backs other then i gotta buy more accessories for it but thats my own personal use for different angles

i`ve had more trouble with these cameras than you can shake a stick at,ive spent over 500.00 on accessories,,first one i got,the new computer i have did`nt recognize it so,had to send it back to gopro,took them 2 months to send it back to me,second one eats batterys,darn built in battery warmer drains both batterys in alittle over an hour,and at some point the camera shuts down and won`t power up unless you take out the battery and let it cool,,,,any one else out there have these issues ??

Charging- When damage is most likely to occur due to the fact that any protective shell is going to have to come off and with the crappy battery life, this will be often.
The LCD attachment- Renders the head strap useless because the back of the unit becomes deeper which prvents the camera from tilting flush with the mount. STUPID STUPID STUPID. Maybe they sell some sort of extention for this overlooked problem, i don't know.
Forget about sound... Your faced with a choice, sound or full elemental protection.

The GoPro HD Hero2 is an excellent product for the outdoor action pack activities. It takes a lickin' but kept on clickin'. I ordered it from SOUTH_CAROLINA_LIQUIDATIONS at the best price in the internet and a few days later, without expedite shipping, it was on my front door. WOW!

Highly frustrated with their slow support response. Tested unit thoroughly indoors worked okay with very short HD clips. But BOTH times out in the field, 1080p 30fps video was recorded with 80% black frame and all video squished to the left side. Nothing on support forums, no response from multiple support inquiries (despite their 2-day response "promise"). People excited about this device will probably read this and think "oh well, that won't happen to me". Just hope it doesn't. Thanks to Amazon support a replacement unit is on its way. Good luck otherwise. Very bad first impression of this device, since so much recording effort was lost due to unit failure. Disinclined to try recording with it again due to this poor experience. So much hype and promise, and it failed when it mattered the most. Will revise review if replacement unit shows itself to be more reliable, but after this experience, cannot really give it more than 4 stars even if things go great. Good luck with your unit, if you are still excited to get it.
UPDATE: The replacement unit from Amazon works great and has been to many places. Just hope you get a good unit and don't need to talk to their support.

Thus far, this cam is pretty sweet. The video is pretty solid. The camera is easy enough to use. I wish there was a Gopro sourced solution for the underwater blur. I ended up getting the SRP Blurfix and it's fantastic. I am giving this 4 stars due to the known fact that it blurs underwater and there is nothing for it... yet. I know Gopro is saying they'll have something in the new year (2012) but still, this was a known issue with the first one too... so.. eh?
To those complaining that this cam isn't as good as a $1000+ DSLR or the like, what are you talking about? 1) Go ahead and throw that cam in the water or drop it from a height of 6ft and let me know how that works out. I am a photographer myself and I appreciate this camera for what it is. I realize the video isn't going to be the supreme best, but if I wanted to take my pro DSLR cam underwater, that would set me back about $3k or so for a good case. Eh, no thanks. The video is really good for those moments when there is a high risk of damage.

Thousands of these cameras are already in the field, doing everything from people's vacation videos to capturing footage for reality TV. Not much new to write that hasn't been documented already, so we'll just say that despite the obvious lens limitations, it's a great little gadget that generates some really nice, well-balanced images.

It is an excellent product except whoever thought making a waterproof camera not float is a genius. Lost it the 2nd weekend I had it at the bottom of the Kern River. *Note: it will not float unless you have the float attachments which cost extra.* $350 down the tubes. Audio quality is pretty poor when the waterproof backing is on too... Other than that the camera is pretty cool.

I get the Hero2 which I have been looking forward to for awhile, take it out of the box, get to the instructions, and the first thing it says is insert a SD memory card, I looked through the box again no memory card. I don't have time to do a days worth of reading just to find out that you have to buy it separately. Everything you need should be in the box or say that it is not in big letters somewhere on the top somewhere.

I've made a living as a video production professional for 22 years now, and I can safely say that this little camera has no right to produce footage that looks as good as it does.
I'm still amazed by the quality. Great wide angle, great mounting options, and the image quality is great. It's obviously no HDCAMSR, but I can find plenty of uses for $300 and it cuts seamlessly with footage from much pricier cameras.

Beware! The Hero2, even with the latest firmware update, does not produce video that is compatible with iPhones. To get the video on an iPhone requires first transfering the video from the Hero2 to a computer, then converting it, and then uploading to an iPhone. This is very disappointing.
Also, keep in mind that while the camera can go underwater, it cannot record video underwater since the lens produces too much distortion.

I use my Gopro Hero2 at my job. It is a great video cam for my truck. I film job-sites mostly. We took it on vacation and have hundreds of hours of video from hikes and bikes. I have not purchased another Gopro Hero2 for my wife. It is super easy to use, it comes with lots of extra mount pieces and the battery seems to last forever. If you go to youtube you can see thousands of videos that people have taken and a few of mine. I will tell you my first camera developed a rattle inside and I used the email service. I had an answer in a couple of hours, send it back and we will fix it. I sent it back and within a few days they sent me a new one. Wonderful service.

We are so excited to have purchased this product. Our family members are avid mountain bikers. Although we'll use it for other sports, as well, it will primarily be used for that. On the test run in our neighborhood, the quality of the video and the ease of use of the product was spectacular! We researched some other products and watched lots of videos...we couldn't find anything comparable for the price.
