Sadly this is the second one I bought due to the first one was used in a pool, by other family member hat had the dust cover on not waterproof cover. But it takes sharp accurate pic's

I bought this is as a gift for my hubby. I checked the website and researched it to make sure it was the correct camera he had been talking about and it was. The seller sent it very quick and I received it 4 days after I ordered it. The box I received had everything I ordered in it, I would do business with this seller again.

The wide angle fisheye lens on the newer GoPros is really amazing. I had owned and used one of the original hero cameras and this one just blows it away in every aspect. My one complaint is that for the most part if it is off for a while and you turn it on, it switches to photo mode instead of video mode despite the fact if you had set it to video mode and turned it off. This makes using it as a helmet cam somewhat difficult if you're never really sure what setting your camera is going to load into. GoPro just released a new firmware update and some software that I have yet to use. Lets hope these will be able to cure a few of the Hero2's quirks..
*update!!! actually I got really tired of this, so before I even posted my review I found a solution through contacting GoPro. In order to get the camera to go straight to video mode, just TAP the power button ONCE. Do NOT hold the button down like you would with the original GoPro cameras, but just a quick blip of the power button and it will come on in video mode... Awesome news. I really have nothing else to complain about except for the price of accessories. Nearly every single one of them you feel a bit ripped off especially after dropping 300 on the camera to find out you're probably going to spend at least another 100 or so on all the accessories you'll need. I knew this going into it though.

the camera is exactly what we were hoping it to be....compact, sturdy and takes decent pictures and video. We also purchased the wrist housing so we could use the camera while scuba diving. At some point we will get a housing that has a light source so we can take better pictures at depth. Having said that, we were happy with what it took. Our only complaint is that we cannot play the videos back on our current computers because they're a dated and don't support the video software, wish we would have known that before purchasing the camera. We were able to use a friend's computer to view them though. The friend has the same camera with the housing that has lights and there is a difference between ours and theirs but ours was still decent. We would recommend this little guy to anyone and everyone.

Until the Hero3... :) If you get this - you NEED the WiFi backpack - it makes setting up the perfect ange very easy. this camera produces great video at a good price.

Product works well. Use it riding my dirtbike. Video quality is exceptional. Sometimes freezes but Gopro support was responsive. Definetly recommend buying a 32gb SD card as it is needed for a full day of recording.

Nice little gadget for who likes sports. Could have a better stabilizer or something for runners, but it is fun enough to play with. Nice diving videos even with the standard housing.

It is good only for outdoor video, not requiring focus on anything closer than four feet.
If you look at the videos, it is always outdoor and that is because it has very poor
low light response, and it has no macro/close up feature.
If you want this for a bike or car it's fine.
It has NO charger in the box
It has NO tripod mount capability at all.
Unless you are adventuring outdoors in a brightly lit area, it will not be
what you need.

Warning! Th gopro wrb site shows in redible stabiliced videos. The truth is that this camera does not take tnat. I think the camera is as good as it gets by its size and price

Had this camera and i really enjoyed its quality for the first month, but then all of a sudden in the middle of shooting a video it froze and i could not shut it off, so i removed the battery and now it wont power on!!! ive tried everything, the camera is completely unresponsive after only a month of use and absolutely no "extreme" use, I only had a chance to use it to shoot timelapse and an event we where setting up, i dont know how everybody else is able to use this for sports and such when it dies even after normal use, maybe i just got a defective one, but amazon is no help since im outside there 30 days (by only 5 days too lol) so we shall see if GoPro responds....
EDIT: GoPro didn't give me any problems with a warranty claim, had me mail it to them and they are looking into it, the good thing is they insisted on me mailing just the camera itself, no original packaging, no mounts, no battery, it really saved on shipping, wish more manufactures did it that way.

This was a gift and the recipient reports it does all it promised. He has used it in a variety of situations and is very pleased with how it has performed. Next stop will be Afghanistan.

I like GoPro and I use it as my third camera. I use it most for its time lapse features and its semi fish eyed lens. This is the old version now that they have the Hero 3.

I've used my Hero2 camera twice and it's been nothing but problems both times. I have it mounted on my snowmobile helmet and would like to use it to record video while riding then take scenery photos in between. I've taken numerous pictures with it and they all turn out looking like blue/orange "static". It takes good pictures when I'm at home in my living room but when I'm outside and the camera is cold the pictures never turn out...pretty worthless if you do winter sports. My second complaint is the mounting/controls. The controls are cumbersome to operate while the camera is mounted on your helmet. The beeping sound is hard to hear if the machine is running so you can't tell if you're turning it on or off. Half the time the camera is off when you want it on and vice versa. Also, the camera shifts position after a short bit of riding and you end with videos looking out into space after you hit a few bumps. The mounting bracket needs to be sturdier than a thumbscrew on a plastic pivot. The final complaint is the service I've received over the "static" pictures, it's been 3 days since I contacted them on the issue and still no response....This thing is getting returned and I'm trying one of the Contours.

sent it back, went to mt rainier and hiked in 50 degree and rainy weather, inside housing would fog up and pictures would be blurry...also audio would have clicking noise when placed in quiet environment....I must of gotten a lemon..
