I use these T3100's for mostly low-level listening at the office--both talk and music--but occasionally will turn the volume up a bit after hours. I am pleased with the bass and clarity. I've tried a few other speakers, and though these don't compete with their predecessor (the T3000's), I expect you'd have to top the 100-dollar mark to get much improvement (still, I'd go with the similarly priced T3000's if you can find them).You'll also get a little better base sound if you can position the sub several feet away (rather than right at your feet) to help develop the sound wave, but the fairly short cords limit how much adjustment you can make.

I was looking for a cheap set of stereo powered computer speakers that were somewhat portable, this meant no 2.1/subwoofer sets. I had lowered my expectations accordingly and was expecting the typical 25-40 dollar speaker sound. I stumbled across these at retail price (~$55) with a $10 dollar rebate which put them right at the higher end of my price range. First the build quality feels solid and the sound is equal to or better than comparably priced 2.1 sets. I would say they are even better than some high end 2.0 sets like Bose's $100 offerings. The cable management, inputs, outputs, knobs, are all very well thought out. I also personally really like the fact that there is a single AC cord coming straight out of the speaker making it easier to move or travel with these.For the money if I ever need a quick set of stereo speakers I would certainly consider buying another pair.

It's pretty much what you'd expect. Only I had a Cambridge 2.1 Speaker set before that ranged in the same price range and was also labelled Creative which had more depth, the cables seemed to be not as flimsy and no blue LED was staring at me (it really is pretty bright in a dark room...). But still the best I could find at this time for that price.

I loved it. Considering the price and the benefits, there's nothing to complain. I'm not an expert, but I think the sound is clean and clear, loud enough, and the speakers are nice too. Recomended!!!

As far as sound quality goes, these speakers sound fine. However, I keep them turned off almost all the time now because every time I receive a text message or phone call, the speakers go crazy and make an incredibly loud buzzing noise, at least twice as loud as anything that normally comes out of the speakers. The volume of the buzzing is terrible even when I've turned the speaker volume down. Even if I turn the speakers off when this happens, the buzzing continues for about 5 seconds after the power is off. I've tried adding ferrite beads to the speaker wires as suggested by some web pages, but that didn't help either.Summary: If you have a GSM cellular provider (T-Mobile, AT&T, Cingular, etc.) then do not buy these speakers. CDMA users (e.g. Verizon, Sprint) shouldn't have this problem.

I'm a self-professed audiophile, and I have years of experience selling speakers at a consumer electronics store. My credentials out of the way, I will say that the norm for computer speakers at this price point is sound that is decidedly muffled or tinny (being too heavy on bass or treble, respectively). These speakers, on the other hand, produce marvelous sound quality in a variety of applications (games, music, videos) and are perfect for the user who isn't looking to rattle the walls and wake the neighbors but still cares what her audio sounds like. They are sleek-looking, responsive to fine-tuning through equalizers and the like, and over all a very good value. I only give them four stars because the hard control for the bass level is on the subwoofer meaning I have to crawl under my desk to adjust it, but I would give them four and a half stars if it were possible.

These are great speakers for the price. Clear highs and mediums, and powerful bass. No interference from cell phones which is also a plus (unless you hold them right next to the speakers). My only complaint is that the bass vibrates a little if turned up too high. Standard Amazon shipping is fast and dependable, if a bit expensive (would have been nice to have Super Saver Shipping)- got these a day before the stated arrival dates.

Heavily used for a year now, mostly on movies and music, and they still turn out a phenomenal sound! The sub woofer on these puppies is really decent. Highly recommended for your computer.

Great sound. For a computer system they are more than enough, remember this isn't your home entertainment system, this is your computer. I have a very modest audio card and I still have to put settings at 50% or less to keep my apartment. I can make them distort if I turn it up to 80-90%, but then people bang on my door,too. Right now I'm converting my record albums to .mp3's and I keep 'flashing back' to the '70's when I first heard these albums and compare the fidelity to be very similar, to those 200 watts amplifiers & 15" speakers. Very crisp, excellent presence and very accurate. I searched the net for three days looking for the right speakers at this price, and I'm glad I bought them! Excuse me I have some Pink Floyd to listen to.

I picked these up as part of my laptop's "home base" on my relatively small desk in my relatively small bedroom. Didn't need particularly huge bass and decided to give the T3100 a try because their satellites have both a midrange AND a tweeter. Most computer speakers, even plenty of expensive ones, just have supposedly full-range drivers on their satellites which go neither low enough to blend with the sub nor high enough to give crisp cymbals etc. I hooked up the speakers and was pleasantly surprised, they really do have a pretty decent range of sound. It took a bit of moving the sub around underneath the desk to make the bass sound like it's part of the rest of the sound (tip: center it between the satellites) but am more than thrilled with the sound quality for the price. Don't go expecting a home theater but for my purpose they're great.

Great sounding speakers. Rich Bass, clear treble tones. Very satisfied. When I listen to music, if the speakers can't reproduce the correct sound, I can't listen to it. These speakers do the job.

First set of speakers worked great for about 10 hours. The next day they wouldn't power up. Ordered a replacement set, and after a few hours of use these failed too. They just stopped (no power at all) while I was watching a movie on my computer.Obviously there is a design or manufacturing flaw with these speakers. Too bad, they look great and sound good. I will not buy Creative speakers again.

I was a little apprehensive about buying speakers for my laptop, and it took me awhile to finally make a decision. I have to say that I'm glad I took my time making a decision, because these speakers are so worth it. My living room is 240 sq ft and they sound great from a low to high volume no matter where I'm sitting. Now I've only really tried it with music, but today I did try to watch an episode of Fringe, and felt it wasn't loud enough and could barely hear the dialogue. I would suggest if anyone uses their laptop to watch movies and/or tv they may want to opt for a 5.1 set, but recommend you try the Creative brand.

These are the greatest speakers I've owned since I bought my Radio Shack Minimus 7s back in 1982!While this may be saying little (the Minimus 7 wasn't that good for sound quality, but it was tiny and portable), they give great sound quality while being small enough to port around for work, presentations, watching movies, and listening to streaming radio content. I have an infant at home, and being able to listen to KCRW Santa Monica no matter what I'm doing with my daughter in whatever room from my house is a blessing. The sound quality range is pretty good for portable speakers. I wish they would have given a little more wire, both for the power cord and for the speakers, so the two could be separated more than about three feet. For my personal needs, the sub-woofer port is overkill--I'll probably not blast sound enough to use them. Great speakers, great value!

I bought them for general use but the subwoofers do pack a punch for the price. The speakers have nice quality tweeters to reproduce high frequencies. In all I am very happy with my purchase.

I've purchased different speakers for lab use. Both more expensive and less expensive. These are the least expensive speakers I can recommend. The other ones sound horrid and or break quickly.For example have purchased cheaper creative speakers, and when you turn the volume knob they crackle and it is hit or miss with each minor turn actually raises or lowers the volume. No fine control.

I have had a Creative Labs sub woolfer and speakers for my desk top computer for 5 or 6 years and have been pleased with them. The whole thing cost less than 30 dollars and was an excellent bargain. When I got a little lap top I decided to get little speakers for it so I didn't have to keep it connected to my stereo. These little speakers are great for casual listening and at the lower volumes I use they sound wonderful --- if you are not a real hi-fi nut. I just want the music and a good sound.I was raised with big band music on an AM radio in my Chevy so I'm not too hard to please, but I'm also a musician and want to hear all parts of the music. These meet my needs

Even though I'm not as picky some, I did a lot of research before purchasing these. They're beautiful speakers with good sound. I don't go beyond a soft level usually, so I don't know how they perform when pushed, but they work very well for every day average use. So far I have no complaints and feel it was a good value.They match my black Samsung monitor perfectly!

I will say that as standard computer speakers they will get the job done and the price is right. I have noticed a buzzing noise even when the speakers are off and that is annoying. Now this may be because I have them plugged into a power strip. I have not tested them on a wall socket but who wants to waste an outlet. So other that than there not bad.

I love these speakers, not only do they have great bass response, warm mids and crisp un-glassy highs, but they're accurate. They make every recording sound lively and vibrant.If your thinking 'You get what you pay for, and those are too cheap.' Your very wrong. They're nothing short of fantastic.

If your budget is around $50- you'd be hard-pressed to find other speakers that have half the look or sound of these babies. I was surprised by their size and elegance when I took them out of the box. They're very stylish and look amazing on my desk. As for sound, I am very happy with their performance. It was strange- When I turned on some music at a moderate volume and left the room, I could still here the music very clearly from the kitchen, even though the speakers were pointed against the opposite wall. You can hear the music very well, even when they face away from you. They seem almost omni-directional, it's really cool. Great bass, great mids, can definitely blast- Great speakers!!!

I bought these about a week ago from a local retailer for $20 after rebates. I was not expecting much at this price, but they have a very nice clean crisp sound with plenty of bass and lots of detail on the highs. At first I did not like the sound until I realized I was just used to the muddy flat sound of my old Altec Lansings, now I know these are much closer to the intended sound. I can also hear small details that were not there before, like soft cymbols or background effects. The volume capability is more than enough with 60 total Watts and seperate bass control, which is a more important feature that I ever thought before. I like to play music while I'm working and these speakers do an excellent job. When first hooking them up it is best to set everything to middle levels, particularly computer output level and bass level on the subwoofer, otherwise you could induce distortion and blame it on the speakers. Now for the BAD parts, the BLUE LED is indeed way too bright and distracting even in a well lit room. And some sort of sleep mode would have been nice so you would not have to turn these things on and off seperately from the computer. But I would still buy these again and highly recomend them to anyone.

This set replaced some Acoustic Research speakers. I spent 7 years as a DJ and these sound almost as good as the $750 ea. studio monitors we used.I listen to everything from Operatic Metal (i.e. Nightwish,Epica)to country to broadway to jazz....These work really well at ALL genres and do well at gaming too. I also use these to watch DVD's on the P.C. and the separation and impact is great. Highly recommended for the money. You could spend a LOT more and do MUCH worse.I have to agree with other reviewers tho and recommend leaving your woofer adjusted to mid-point. It's just a knob on the back of the subwoofer and can be read easily.Bottom line: GREAT value at twice the price!!
