I ordered this item after reading all the positive reviews. Well, after hooking it up I wasn't that impressed. I made the mistake thinking I could replace my Klipsh system, when it died after 6 years, with this one. Basically, if you want a systemwith any real bass you must have a subwoofer. These speakers didn't sound bad, but no bass. I will say they are nice looking speakers though, and if you don't put emphasis on having bass...then these are for you. Needless to say I returned these to Amazon today and purchased a 2.1 system instead.

What a great set of speakers. Recommended by a friend, I decided to buy this product and was very happy with it. In fact my wife liked it so much, I had to hook it to her desktop, when she got a new desktop. Now I need to get another one for my computer. Definitely a great product.

Purchased these speakers at Fry's electronics in Palo Alto, California and brought them back to Dublin, Ireland with me. They worked fine for 1 month, and was pleased with performance 'til the left speaker died after one month's light use. Creative EU refused to honor the warranty and suggested that I return to speakers to the US -- and that I pay postage of course (the cost of which nears the price of the speakers). I have been a Creative customer since the days of the Sound Blaster, and was disappointed by their unwillingness to stand behind their products.

I needed desktop speakers that were small but wanted to avoid the cheap awful quality sound that usually comes with a small size. I found it. So if you are crunched for space (office cubicle) and want some speakers that are pretty decent for the price (around $40); here you are. Not the bass you would get with an Altec Lansing subwoofer-but you really can't have that at an office anyway. Plus, you aren't paying out the $$$ a subwoofer would cost. A nice system for said niche.

I listen to pandora using my touchpad and hook up to these speakers in my home wood shop. We recently had an open house for my mother's 80th birthday in the hall at her church and I took the speakers and attached it to my smart phone so we could play the Glen Miller station on pandora. Many people commented on how good those "small" speakers sounded in that big room. I was equally surprised myself. When I got home I set them up in our house to compare the sound to our Bose and found the sound equaled a product I paid 10 times more for. This really is a good deal.

I had these speakers for 2 years and all of a sudden the master control knob (on/off-volume knob on the left side)went South. Just touching it produced static and/or no sound. Creative said the cost to repair it would be more than buying a new one. Their recommendation was to buy another set from them (without offering me a discount due to their faulty electronics). The speakers were awesome while they lasted (with minimal usage) but Creative Labs can go fly a kite if they think I'll give them another dime. What a scam!!!!!!!

As with most things, it really depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for speakers around $30, that dont take up much power and dont need to damage eardrums at your next rave party, then you should really consider these. I recently bought both the T10's and the logitech x-140's and had a chance to literally do a side-by-side comparison on my desk. The T10's just sound better, there's no question about that. But they're also slightly more expensive.Similarities:-both look great.-both are low wattage - easy on your electric bill and wont annoy the neighbors-on both, treble is not too tinny, bass is not too overpowering; on both midrange is wanting (tho you can live with it in either case, its not terrible either).-both have tone knobs, which is nice-both do special things to try to enhance bass (logitech has an excusion driver, t10 has a duct)-If you plug either into a power strip that turns off when you turn off your computer (such as the "smart strip" - to save energy and so that you dont forget to turn off/on your speakers), both will make a small "Popping sound" when turned on or off in that way. However - the logitech's sound is considerably louder and more annoying than the t10's sound. The logitech in fact makes a fairly loud 'pop' even when you just turn it on normally (the t10 does not).-logitech has bright orange led which may be too bright; t10's green led is normal.Differences:-logitech is about $20 to $25 cheaper, depending on current prices, tho the t10's can come close if you happen to catch one of the rebates.-logitech is 2.5w per speaker RMS, t10's are 5w per speaker RMS. That said, if you're looking for personal speakers, both will be plenty loud. The logitech in particular suprised me in terms of how loud it could get on just 2.5 watts/speaker. I used to own a 2w/channel pc speaker system before and it never got nearly as loud as the logitech's do. Clearly speaker technology keeps evolving.-logitech x-140's each have a single speaker plus a 'bass excursion' driver. Each T10 has a bass duct - plus 2 speakers in each case - a tweeter and a woofer.-Both are about the same weight and roughly the same size - both are a bit bulkier compared to the average desktop speaker. But in a good way.Sound comparison: T10 wins, but Logitech is respectableI did a side by side comparision, swapping out the creatives and then the logitechs from my pc while playing the same song list for comparison. First I listened to the logitech x140's -- and was impressed. For the size and very low wattage, they're remarkable: Loud, fairly decent bass, easily fill a room, definitely many steps better than the 'stock' speakers that come with pc's. Mid-range of course was lacking a bit, but voices clear when listening to the news or watching youtube interviews. I thought I could live with them quite happily as an inexpensive set of personal speakers. Then I tried the T10's. Within 10 seconds I knew I would be keeping the T10's rather than the logitechs. Why? Look: At this price and wattage range, you are not going to get audiophile quality speakers anyway. So one has to just get something as good as possible within this range. And the T10's seem to me as good as it gets within this range. In particular, compared directly with the Logitech's, they were simply and clearly better in sound quality. The sound was much less 'boxy,' a touch less muddy, a touch more clear, more 'alive'; the highs were a touch crisper, the lows were a touch deeper, the soundstage was a touch wider, songs sounded a touch better. The T10's are, after all, using twice the wattage and have 2 drivers in each case rather than 1 -- and you CAN tell that it makes a difference.I mean I could live with the logitech's quite happily - unless I heard the T10s.So how do voices sound on the T10? Whats the midrange like? Midrange could be better (as with all speakers in this price range). But its good enough to live with. Voices in newscasts etc sounded good, were not drowned out by bass or treble.Other notes on the T10:-tone knob is useless if moved much from the middle position.-they look and feel just fantastic, like they're much more expensive than they are. THey're *heavy* for such small speakers, and the nice black piano finish is classy. They reek quality in touch and feel.Bottom line: If you want to save $20 (depending on current prices), get the logitech's. You *will* be happy with them. If you can throw in an extra $20, yes get the T10s. You'll be genuinely satisfied with them.Whats more, if you get one of those turtle beach usb sound cards, they have a built-in 10-stage equalizer. I'm using my t-10's with a USB steelseries sibera sound card (which is similar to turtle beach) and I was able to tweak the equalization to my hearts content. The t-10's responded very well to such tweaking.

I find myself enjoying music, television and movies more on my computer than on my television and stereo these days. This 2.1 system is amazing and has a wide range on the bass and sound levels. I honestly have no Cons with this item at all.Great sound, great bass, high volume(I honestly never turn it all the way up), and even a headphone jack, it is like they thought of everything. Why get a lousy set of speakers when for just a bit more you could have a 2.1 surround system and not be upset with your sound.Click Yes if you found this review helpful.

I bought these speakers because I sometimes don't have enough volume when listening to Netflix videos on my iMac. I was amazed with the quality of the sound I have been missing. I find that leaving the tone selector exactly in the middle gives a great range of sound to accompany any video I'm watching. Using the iTunes equalizer offers a greater range of control when listening to music. I even tested the equalizer/speaker combo with professionally recorded bird songs and the sound was superb. The speakers are very attractive and solidly built. For just over $40 dollars these speakers are a great value.

This is the best purchase for a digital device. It's so handy. If there's anything to ask for improvement would be the length of the cord for the outlet other than that, the sound, the price, it's compact feature, durability is pretty amazing. Even my slightly hearing impaired grampa commented how good the sound coming from the tiny speakers I had connected with my zune. Pretty darn cool! It beats my friend's bose computer speakers.Comes with 2 speakers.

Got these to replace a two speaker system in Nov 2009 - big difference in sound! Enjoyed these for music and clarity of speech. Had no problems with them until just this past month (Feb 2011) they started cutting out when the volume got beyond a nominally quiet level. Thought it might be the computer, so I hooked them into another laptop, and experienced the same thing. Music that used to play with no problem now cut out beyond a nominally (quiet) level. The speakers sounded good still, but the volume could not be moved beyond 30% on the computer sound level and the speaker level knob without the sound cutting out. Found a fuse in the subwoofer box when I opened it up to take a look, but it was for the power supply and was still good, everything else looked to be fine, no hot marks on the IC's or components. The speakers looked fine, no visible damage to them that I could tell by a visual inspection.Just recently replaced them with some Logitech speakers that were more expensive, but don't sound as good. At least they don't cut out under normal listening volumes. Hope that Creative Labs can figure this one out, cause their speakers sure sound good, but the problem with cutting out is major to me.

My Altec Lansing VS2421 was getting muddy after 2 years of use, so I decided to purchase the T10 after reading some decent reviews around the net. But boy were they wrong. I don't usually dish out such critical remarks, but the sound of these were terrible. Sure, perhaps they perform better than 10 dollar speakers, but only very slightly if I'm being honest.I tested Massive Attack's "Protection", John Mayer's "Clarity", Incubus' "Are You In" and the t10s failed in the bass dept miserably.Watching youtube videos of the t10 seemed to display decent bass. But I couldn't achieve any of the thumbing tweeter movement seen in those videos. All I got were "tapping" bass. Initially suspecting I purchased a lemon, I then realised I had to raise the volume to unhealthy listening levels to achieve any kind of "thumping" bass effect. I can't imagine anyone listening at that levels in a residential apartment without neighbors complaining. Can only blame myself for purchasing these, but for 50 bucks I really expected much better. I now believe those who insisted that 2.0 systems cannot put out gd bass. (at least at normal volumes).I'm giving 2 stars in fairness for the mids. Vocals seem half-decent.This makes me very wary of Creative Lab products and their reviews. These will definitely be the last CL speakers I buy. So for those also looking for inexpensive speakers please look elsewhere. Or 2.1 systems.

When I first opened up the package, the Creative Inspire T3100 speakers didn't seem like very much, but my speculation of the product was quite wrong. Once I plugged them into my computer, I was blown away. At the time of purchase, I had spent $50 on these, and I don't regret it one bit. They offer deep bass, crisp highs, and the clearest sound you could find at this price point. I got these speakers about 2 years ago and they still have yet to show any distortion at any volume levels that I have tested them on. Overall, these are just amazing little speakers with a great sub-woofer that will please you for a very long when used appropriately.

Was looking for a pair of speakers to augment the volume on a small TV in a large kitchen (typically drowned out by e.g. the microwave oven or a running faucet). It was (a) difficult to establish what speaker would be compatible with TV hook-ups from online info' (as TV does not have a USB connection), (b) unclear if they would be loud enough without sound distortion, (c) needed to fit on a small ledge but not look/sound like cheap plastic computer speakers, so spent quite some time looking.Have now been happily using these speaker for ~2 months.Pros:Speakers look great, shape and finish is quite attractive.Small enough to fit on narrow ledge but big enough for decent sound.Separately purchased cable (Mini-Stereo Male to Two RCA Male Audio Cable) connected to TV's red and yellow audio input slotsSound great - quality is obviously richer than the TV speaker(s) and easily heard above the noise of a large, busy kitchen.Cons:A remote would have been a useful feature (as TV remote does not regulate sound going to these speakers), hence 4/5 for features/ease of use. But great deal for price.Have volume up quiet a way when kitchen is very noisy (otherwise ~ 50%) so might not be loud enough for outdoor use.

Clear sound, the tone control in its simplicity is surprisingly useful in getting the sound right for the song & style of music. I got these to replace the sound-wise disappointing Creative D80; the sound is really on a completely different level. Obviously not the speakers to throw a rave party or mix a hit song with, but easily worth the money.

I spend a lot of time working at home on my PC. I finally decided to get some decent speakers. But I didn't want to spend a lot of money.I once read a Bose ad. It said that, over time, the best sounding speakers . . are those that sound the most life-like.Well, these sound pretty life-like to me. My last speakers were decent, but tinny. It's amazing how annoying the sound from cheap speakers can be.I don't play my music loud . . just enough for me to hear it. And everything sounds great on these Creative units.I've always bought Creative speakers. But I usually take them to work.I thought it was about time . . to treat myself . . at home! Don't miss out. If you are looking for a pair of desktop speakers that pump out a lot of volume, these are not for you. They don't really go any louder than the $10-$20 pair of cheapie speakers you can buy anywhere. What they do well is sound excellent at lower volumes. If you are happy with the loudness of cheap speakers, but want better clarity, I highly recommend these speakers. They have very good clarity and are a dramatic improvement over the less expensive alternatives.

I just received these in the mail, plugged them in, tested, and I couldn't be happier. They are perfect for listening to music in a 1 BR apartment or small room. They still sound good from the patio. For online sports you don't need anything else. They have a TONE adjustment that could be dialed down internally because each speaker is about the size of 3 normal size cans of soup, and the base given I could see blowing them out soon - so I just turned it down. 5 stars for overall value. If you're just looking for good speakers to replace the generic low end one's (I had a pair of Logitech's), you won't do better than these.
