Wanted some decent speakers but did not want a sub woofer. They give an excellent sound and we don't miss the sub woofer at all.

As an IT professional I've bought dozens of different PC speakers over the years. I have a pretty good idea of what's available at different price points.The Inspire T10 really impressed me. They're well constructed and look great on a desktop. They have more bass than should be possible from two small speakers. Bass is not just strong, but it's clean. Most of the affordable subwoofer/speaker systems tend to sound boomy or muddy. Since this set does not have a subwoofer, setup is much simpler: one power connection, one signal connection to the computer and one more cable connecting the two speakers.After owning the speakers for a week, I ordered two more sets for other people on my team to use, and also ordered a set of Gigaworks T40 speakers, the top of the line speakers in the same series. The T40's are similar in width but twice as tall. They are more powerful and have more bass. The drivers are higher quality than the T10's. But at low to average volumes, they sound very similar to the T10 speakers.The T10 speakers are easily the best on the market at the $50 and below price point. They are far better than the $95 2.1 system I have at home. Pretty soon I'm going to dump them and buy a set of T10's or GigaWorks speakers for my home desktop system.I highly recommend you give these speakers a try.

Man was I disappointed with these speakers. Not worth $50. Poor power and tinny sound. Would have paid $15 for these speakers...

I'm completley satisified with these speakers. I connected them to my 23" Samsung HD-TV (which had terrible sound) and now it sounds very good. I also like the jack on the side allowing me to plug in my computer at the same time it is connected to the TV.

The Creative Inspire T3100 speakers are great! The set up was very easy and quick. I love the sound quality and they are also stylish. The sub woofer throws out very well if you enjoy bass! I highly recommend these speakers. They are very reasonably priced for the quality. I don't think many people would be disappointed with these.

The Creative Inspire T3100 2.1 Speakers are great computer speakers for $30 to $40. At this price range, they are very good as far as sound quality, power, and bass.

I don't use my computer much for music but I needed (ok, wanted) an upgrade from the crappy speaks that came with my computer. I have to say, for the appx. $40.00 I paid for them I was pleasantly surprised. OF COURSE, for that amount of money you can't expect TOO much, but hey, for what I paid for them I'm happy I bought them. You really can't miss for that amount of money. If you're looking for GREAT sound, keep looking, but again, for 40 bucks I thought I got a heck of a deal.

I bought these speakers with the idea of using them in the US and also take them to Europe. But when I opened the box and took the subwoofer out I saw that it requires AC 120V voltage. That restricts their usage to the US so I won't be able to take them to overseas (unless I use a voltage converter with the waste of energy that implies). That was disappointing. In part, it is my fault for not having checked previously, but neither the product web page at Amazon.com nor the official product web page at creative.com specify anything about the required voltage.The speakers themselves sound great. The set includes a 17W subwoofer, that is more than enough for my needs, and two 6W satellites. Each one includes a central speaker that sounds really good and one tweeter. In my opinion the tweeters make a big difference: guitar sounds are delicious. This is a really good point for these speakers compared to the Logitech X-240, which satellites include only one 5W central speaker.As a summary, 5 stars for the speakers, 1 star for the lack of information. That makes the 3 stars in my review.

I bought these via Amazon several months ago. Granted, I like the sound quality of my Sennheiser 555 headphones much better, but things like watching videos or music with my 7 year old son require speakers and I was in need of an upgrade from the crappy speakers that attached to my Dell monitor.My major consideration with my speaker purchase was to have some depth to my sound without overly bass thumping others in the house. The bass port does provide a pretty good bass feel to the music, but at times it can feel like an artificial hump presence and unfortunately, one can't readily equilize it out. Regarding bass leak to the rest of the house...even at pretty high volumes, when I've gone downstairs, the bass thump isn't all that noticeable...so a pretty good choice is the consideration of others is a concern.In some ways, these remind me of Bose 2.0 speakers, so one could call them "Bose Jr." Treble is pretty good, albeit somewhat thin. Overall I'd say they have a good sound quality, especially for the price. I can listen to them for hours on end, but again, I often prefer the near audiophile quality of my Senn headphones. Not too far behind though and overall a good value for the $[...] I paid for them.

The sound quality is real good for the price. The sub woofer is a little too strong by setting though but it is adjustable. The speakers look classy and matching with my black laptop.

Unfortunately, I'm no audiophile, and all my music is encoded in 128kbps, so I can't comment on the finer audio aspects of the speakers. I can say that they do sound pretty good, and I've never had any complaints about the sound, either when playing music or playing games.However, there are a few details that can be improved. The bass controls are on the subwoofer, so you're likely to just select a setting and not touch it for a while (setting the dial around the middle works fine). I would have liked to have a control station that has the volume, base, and headset jack, but for the price, you probably can't expect this. Both satellite speakers plug directly into the subwoofer, and the wires are about equal in length, so keep that in mind if you plan to set the subwoofer over to one side. Also, there's a blue LED on the right satellite speaker that indicates when it's on (turn the volume dial to the lowest position to turn it off), and this thing is BRIGHT. When I turned the lights off, with the blue light as the only source of illumination, it literally lit up the entire room. I ended up taping a piece of cardboard over the light to dim it a bit.

Purchased this apeaker set from Amazone.com to replace my Dell speaker set. Sount quality is excellent. The price I paid was remarkabely low for this sound!

I currenlty own a Klipsch 5.1 promedia system as well as a Logitech z680,both are great.I purchased these speakers from Amazon and was extremely pleased with the results. I did not want to mess with, nor did I have the space for a sub.These speakers deliver great treble and wonderful bass considering that this system does not contain a sub. If the speakers are placed at shoulder level the bass is enhanced (the lower you place them the better the sound of the bass)This is due to the bassXports located on the top of these speakers. I have tried the Creative t20, which is one class better than the t10. The only real difference that is noticeable is the quality of the treble which is almost ear piercing when on high. For the money the T10 are a better purchase for a 2.0 system. Don't waste your time with the Creative T20 unless you need an overpowered 2.0 system due to space limitations, granted they do look sharp in the end your ears wont be satisfied and your pockets will be lighter.Some interesting features on the Creative t10 which set it apart from the rest:1.Audio in(for MP3 players,phones,Ipods & +) is located on the side vs the back for easy access.2.Head phone jack is also located on the side vs the back.3.Heavy construction that has a solid build that will not tip or move every time you turn on or change the volume.4.Very appealing exterior that matches well with almost all monitors or just for stand alone5.Speakers are not USB allowing you to play from any device with out computer connections.6.Great treble quality which is worth the $15 dollar difference.You will not be disappointed.

I've had the system for a month and I'm very impressed. The sound is clear and not muddy, including the mid range. The bass is more than loud enough, and the satellite speakers and their stand are not flimsy. For the money you can't go wrong, it's not a $100 set but it compares very well when you listen to a higher price system, especially since I paid $36.

The Creative Labs speakers were a great size, and I bought them based on the 4 star reviews here. Out of the box, however, they were a problem. As in -- one speaker did not work. Creative Labs Customer Service is MIA, and there's just no help to be had or even remorse. Fortunately, Amazon took them back. I'll never buy another CL product.

I just received these speakers today. Very easy installation. By no means am I an audiophile, but these speakers sound awesome! I like a lot of bass, but without the muffled sound. The bass control really helps to accomplish this, and music is crystal clear. And loud! Excellent product combined with an excellent value. I would definitely recommend. The only reason I gave it four stars was because I just got them. Otherwise, I would give them a five star rating.

I bought these about five months ago to replace some nice Creative Lab stereo speakers.Pros:Stylish, strong (for its size) sub, clear sound. good(ish) for gaming.Cons:1. Sub woofer controls on the floor.2. Do not get loud. I've read reviews where people described these as having a good loud sound. They sound terrible when turned up loud. The volume nob only goes about half-way around its rotation before the sound turns to total garbage. This is true to varying degrees with ALL types of music and sound environments. The amp has the power, but the speakers can not handle it.3. Bad grounding issues. Plug in your headphones and expect a nasty thump or snap. Given my 180 dollar sennheisers, I don't trust these at all.Resolutions: Don't know... Don't buy these. For any price. You will be disappointed if you know good sound. They look nice, but won't fill a room.Update: 11/26/08Gawd these are awful. Yes, these are cheap and they do look neat. I have to say that my disappointment grows month by month. I'll admit that I'm spoiled by having a very strong home theater system which squashes these pathetic diseased banshee-speakers, but I would not recommend these to anyone. I'm afraid I can't give any recommendation for GOOD computer speakers. It looks as though good computer speakers will cost you as much as a good low-range home theater system. If your have the room/setup for it just integrate your theater and PC sound. Otherwise just give up or by an old amp and some weak pawn shop speakers for the same price. I'll bet you'll be happier.Edit 3/11/09Gave them to my brother. Now they don't bother me any more.

I recently purchased a Samsung 19" LCD TV for the kitchen and was very disappointed with the audio, so I decided to find small external speakers with very good if not excellent sound quality to connect to the TV. Although I read several positive reviews of the Creative Inspire T10 speakers before I purchased, I was still a bit wary of what I would get, as I am picky about sound quality (e.g., I have purchased quite a bit of audiophile-grade speakers and components over the years for stereo and home theater systems). But when I hooked them up and began listening, I was amazed at the wonderful tonality and frequency response that these speakers delivered. I was also very pleased with the build quality. I noticed from the carton that Creative Labs includes the well-respected Cambridge SoundWorks, a company well known for its quality speakers and high performance:price ratio, so I suspect that this arm of the company may have had input into the design of these speakers. In any case, I am buying another pair for my PC, which I think is about the highest recommendation I can make!

These sound a lot better than I had expected from a 2.0 set--I guess I fell for the idea that you need a separate subwoofer to get rich sound. The speakers are actually deeper than I had expected as well, probably as deep as they are tall. If that's what drives the good sound without making room for a subwoofer, I'm happy to make the trade.I wish the power cord were a little longer--I would guess it's only five feet long and I had to change the speaker placement to reach the power supply under my desk.Initially I wished for separate treble/bass controls (it's a single knob) but for my tastes I found it only takes a little tweaking to find a mix that sounds great. If you love bass-heavy music you'll have to sacrifice crisp treble to get your bass--but if you're a bass fiend you aren't even looking at sets without powered subwoofers, right?Overall I think these are terrific desktop speakers, and would still be happy even if I had paid more.

Just Got these speakers and I really love them... They have great sound in a small and highly affordable package. The Bass is not spectacular but definitely good enough for music and movies, they are just not party speakers.

I'm accustomed to computer speakers that produce sound as dull as dishwater, so the first time that I listened to the Inspire T3100 speaker system was an unexpected wakeup call. The sound is VERY lively, and the treble, in particular, is both strong and smooth -- guitar notes come alive (Clapton, Doobie Brothers), saxophone wails (Dave Brubeck's "Take Five" is especially nice), and I notice little details and backbeats in the music that I'd never picked out before.I was concerned that the subwoofer on an inexpensive system like this might be too "boomy," but not at all -- the sound was very natural. There's a knob on the back to adjust subwoofer output, but I set it in the middle and felt no need to fiddle with it. If you like really big, thumping base, other system probably would provide more.Volume is easily sufficient to fill a typical small office or spare bedroom. The subwoofer is a bit smaller than a shoebox standing on end. The satellite speakers have bases large enough so they won't tip over too easily. The right speaker has a power/volume rotary switch on one side that feels smooth and substantial, with a blue LED power light in the front and a headphone jack on the other side. The transformer is inside the sub, so there's no annoying power "brick." The components have a substantial look and feel, not flimsy.My only comment regarding sound quality is that in music with a lot of base and treble, the vocals don't always burst forth with the same enthusiasm. This is more true of male vocalists -- the higher-pitched ladies (early Dionne Warwick, for example) come through just fine. But this can be easily fixed using the equalizer controls in ITunes -- the "enhance vocals" preset actually works very well. There are no tone controls on the speakers, but the electronic equalizer is probably a more effective and accurate device.My reference speakers for these were a 10-year-old pair of Altec Lansing ACS40, which were not bad speakers at the time (and, of course, can still be found on E-Bay!). The Altecs still produce a smooth, pleasant sound -- but VERY dull and muted compared to the Creative system.Frankly, I bought this new system not expecting much. Another set of old speakers had given up the ghost, and I wanted to get something that would be slightly better than the usual $10 replacement pair. But these are a LOT better than I expected (and I'm the kind of person who is more likely to be disappointed than impressed by the stuff I buy). So I can recommend these without reservation.Oops, here comes "Take Five" again on the shuffle play -- gotta go. There's some drum work in the middle that's coming through really nicely - lively with just the right amount of reverb. Definitely not to be wasted on bad speakers.

I finally decided to replace an older set of Labtec speakers but was not looking to spend a lot of money. I wanted a simple set of desktop speakers to play music while I work on the computer or provide sound for my elementary school kids when they play their learning games. I don't have any expertise on sound quality but would definitely be basing my decision on how pleasing the sound was to me. Having a strong base is a preference.I visited several of the major electronic retailers and office supply stores. I found the Altec Lansing BXR1121 set for $29.99 included a subwoofer. Seemed like a good price and I've always known the Altec Lansing name to be considered good quality so I gave them a try.Before opening the box I looked at some reviews online and found most of them to be favorable. With everything installed I tried various music genre. Initially I was satisfied because they were noticeable better then the Labtecs but as I continued testing the speakers range, and volume control I lost that satisfaction. At the highest volume level the sound noticeably distorted and I didn't feel the sound was as crisp as I wanted so I kept shopping.A week later I found the Creative Inspire T3100 2.1 set on sale for $19.99 with rebates (reg. $49.99). Before going to the store I again looked at reviews online and found very similar comments. They have twice the amount of RMS power (29 watts) and peak power (60 watts) then the Altec Lansing's so for $10 less I figured I couldn't go wrong. I immediately noticed a difference and it was much more to my liking. The sound was fuller, richer and the base was deeper and resonated more. The 1" tweeters and 2" midrange speakers on the satelite speakers probably help. The "Dynamic Bass" and "Rich Sound" descriptions found on the box are more then accurate. Their smaller footprint was also attractive.I'm sure there may be better 2.1 systems out there in the $20-$50 range but I wasn't going to spend any more time looking. If you can find these on sale for 19.99 they are a steal.
