This is another quality product from Canon. For the price and quality, you would be hard pressed to find any other camera to beat this one. Images are very decent and menus are user friendly. I would have been happier if it was lighter but then you cannot get everything. I have no hesitation in advertising this model.

I'm impressed with the quality of the image that this camera can give. It's excellent. I compared it with the photos of other cameras, images taked in the same place, in the same hour and the difference is notable.
Then I printed some of the photos and the bright of the colors and the sharpness of the image is amazing.
I really recommend it.

The Powershot 620 is a great camera... Lots of range, multi-adjustable viewing screen. It has so many shooting options that I don't think I will ever outgrow this camera. If you are thinking about purchasing one, definitely get a larger memory card-- the one that comes with it only holds 15-20 pics at a reduced size.

I found this camera very easy to use right out of the box using the beginners setup guide that comes with the camera. It's been a great point and shoot camera and maybe someday when I have time, I'll explore the rest of the options.

This camera is a little gem. With its high resolution and a myriad of options, it just produces great pictures easily. I love it and I haven't even purchased any lense attachments yet.

We have a small photo business at the beach and needed a small point and shoot camera to always have at hand. The A620 is used to back up our older G5 and the new Rebel XT. It is easy and quick to operate and yeilds a high quality image. Overall, a great, easy to operate little camera for the money.

I purchased this camera to replace my last camera that had gotten damaged. For the money this camera is a good deal. It takes very good pictures and I would reccommend it to anyone on a budget. If you can afford to spend more, I would buy the SONY.

is that you can't make the aperture smaller than F8. I had no idea that this was the case before I bought it : no reviews I've seen mention this . It does bother me , particularly when using the longest focal length because I can't increase the depth of field to what I'd like it to be .
It hasn't been enough to make me return the camera though. I agree with people who have commented on the incredibly flimsy cover for the usb lead ; this can be overcome by using a card reader .
It's worth the money but it certainly isn't as good as an SLR.

I have got 5 cams and this one is the worst I have ever got. Its canon...its supposed to be good but I will not recommend this cam to anyone. Pay 50-60 bucks more and get a beter one...

This little gem takes great images as soon as you pull it out of the box and insert the battery and memmory card. This was a gift for our daughters 16th birthday, and she loves it.

By the specifications and my previous experience with Canon cameras, I assume that this camera is a great deal for the 180 dollars I spent for it. Therefore I'm giving the camera 3 stars instead of one - even though I need to replace it.
Unfortunately, when I opened up the box and stuck the batteries in and powered it up, the lens cover only partially opened when the lens extended and then only closed partially when the camera was turned off.
I'm getting it replaced now and will happily update my review when I can.
UPDATE:
Replaced camera works great. No issues whatsoever.

well designed and easy to use advanced point and shoot camera. I am very happy with the product but I am a long time photo buff. May be a bit much for those just begaining in the hobby or those that just want something to carry in their purse in case they see a rock star.

THIS ITEM WAS DELAYED IN SHIPPING AND WHEN IT FINALLY ARRIVED THE BOX HAD CORRECT PART NUMBER ON IT, YET, ACTUAL PART ENCLOSED HAD A DIFFERENT PART # / WAS NOT THE ITEM WE ORDERED, THUS, NOT COMPATIBLE W/ OUR MODEL CAMERA. SO WE CANNOT REVIEW OR RATE.

The enclosure has a solid feel to it. I dove with it three times with no problem at all. It would be nice if the weight does not cost extra.
The only compliant I have is that the enclosure is a tight fit, so it is very difficult to fit a desiccant into the enclosure.

Camera is everything and more than I expected. It has more capabilities than I will probably use. The basic photography is simple and captures excellent images. Compared to previous digital cameras I have used, the batteries last much longer than I expected.

Bought this to add to my D60 and 20D. What a great surprise this turned out to be. Focuses quickly. Jpegs are very good out of the box and will stand tweaking. ISO 50/100 have almost no noise. Colour is accurate. Exposure is very good. Fringing problems are minimal. CA is almost non exitent.
Wish it had RAW for that extra IQ and more image control (sharpening etc). But for this price it does an excellent job.
I checked the competition (Fuji F11, Sony P200 etc) and concluded the A620 came out tops. Indeed, it's IQ equals the S80 swapping 28-100 wide for 35-140 long and 35 is wide enough for most situations. Also, the 35 has none of the 28 edge/corner softness.

I was disappointed that this camera developed a serious fault with the viewer only 3 months into its use.Further disappointment when told by the appointed Canon repairers at Colchester Camera Repairs that it would be 3 weeks before it could be looked at.Short English summers are bad enough ,but no camera to capture it is worse.!Buy a A620 at your peril.
