I am happy with the camera, but somewhat confused as to why it takes regular batteries as opposed to digicam batteries.

Very easy to operate. Pictures are great. Battery life is good. For a point and click camera it's perfect. I love it.

no quality control. have sent it back to repair facility twice already. not worth the money. better off buying a refurbished used camera.

I haven't used it much, but it is similar in function to my previous (Canon) camera. I appreciate the viewfinder, the AA battery power (I use rechargeables and always keep a spare set with the camera) and the SD card.

Not only is this camera easy to use, it is smaller than the previous A1200 model that it replaced. It fits in the A1200 case. The A1200 was a tight fit in this case, and it fell out of the case and got damaged.

I BOUGHT THIS CAMERA BECAUSE IT HAD A VIEWFINDER AND WAS VERY SMALL.I WON'T BUY A CAMERA WITHOUT A VIEWFINDER. CAN'T FOLLOW SPORTS ACTION WITHOUT IT.I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE QUALITY OF THE PICTURES.CERTAINLY NOT UP TO CANON STANDARDS I AM ACCUSTOMED TO.

Very nice camera. Inserted the two AA batteries (included), a couple of minor settings and start taking pictures. The picture quality looks good (for the price) and the focus feature is nice. The only reason I am giving it a 4 rating is because it did not include an USB cable.

this did not come with the free memory card that was advertised as being part of my purchase of this camera.Furious there is no way to speak to someone directly about this.

Gave this to my wife as a Christmas gift and she seems to really like it. I used it and was very satisfied with the quality and ease of use. Picture quality is just as good as a more expensive Canon that we own.

I suppose this is what you pay for. Wanted see through view finder and got it. But the camera feels very cheap. I had a30 and thought this would be similar. It is a big step down.

The camera works fine, total portable. My only complain is that the 8GB that according to the offer comes free with the camera.....After using it, the camera works fine, Video is very bad at nigth, camera performs verygood at night.

I do not like this camera, its battery operated and drains batteries way too fast. The shutter is slow and the pictures are not that clear. I was not impressed with this camera and quality of Cannon is just not there in this one!

I bought this A1400 to replace an A540, love view finders! The A1400 is smaller and not as easy to use. The dial for shooting modes is gone, Everything must be setwith a navigation scheme. Shot 260 pix on vacation and went thru 4 batteries, it eats them! I downloaded the 200 page manual and learned how to use the P mode. This is great for shooting in low light, I used the flash only once. With the 20X zoom and the ISO set at 400 you can get shots extremely close. The camera has more features than an amateur will ever need. I never used the video mode so can't comment. Over all it's a good point and shoot camera, just don't pay more than $85.
