I was looking for easy. This camera is still technical. I had all kinds of stuff displayed on the screen that I did not understand. There is a 129 page manual you can download and read, or print. I took my new camera to a wedding and after 40 pictures and video, the camera lens would not retract when I chose to shut it off. Needless to say I returned it and got a full refund.

The images are great, the focusing is superb and it uses AA cells. What's not to like? Those looking for a point and shoot can't go wrong with this camera.

Great pic quality! Easy to use and I can use rechargeable AA batteries! No need to buy expensive proprietary batteries. Also, a rare camera to have an optical viewfinder at a low price. I don't think you will get better pics from paying more - I know, I use Canon DSLRs 50D, 30D with L lenses.Great camera, great price, get one!

Easy to use and has a nice quality feel. I like the optical view finder, most point and shoot cameras do not have this feature any longer. Has some noise in the image in low light conditions.

replaced my powershot A1200 with the A1400 recently and like it so far. really like the palm-sized body for "grab shots" when using my full size DSLRs are not practical or desirable (like last summer in an open market in Tanzania where taking pics of the people is an automatic $1 "transaction" per shot. also like the black body for being even more inconspicuous .

Buyers beware, The ad for this item says that if you purchase this camera you will recieve a Sandisk 8GB Memory Card however when my camera showed up there was nothing in the box with the camera so i was screwed out of what they were selling. Dont like working with companies that false advertise or mislead you!!!

Its Ok. It does feel flimsy like some other reviewers have said; but I don't fault it for that considering its price.What I don't like is:* something about the design makes it challenging to hold steady* Shutter delay* Delay to charge flash

I have been a Canon fan for many, many years. I have, and still use, a Canon 35mm SLR and my old Canon PowerShot A520 has traveled all over the world with me. Having said that, I must also say that the A1400 is a pathetic device. The only feature that works well is the viewfinder, which was one of the reasons that I bought this camera. It is made of such flimsy material that I was almost afraid to even pick it up lest I somehow break it. The time between shots is so long that were you to take several photos of your puppy it would look like time-lapse as the dog grew! I sent it back.

I have been very happy with this camera. I wasn't sure at first because the screen to view live picture was not real sharp. But, once I had the pictures printed they were sharp. I love that it has a blink detection.

I was looking for a camera with a built in flash (no annoying pop-up device), decent (10x) optical zoom and that uses AA batteries. This camera seemed to have everything except the 10x zoom. It takes decent pictures and works fine outdoors. Unfortunately, the flash takes forever to charge, which is quite frustrating when taking pictures indoors or in low light.On the plus side, the camera is quite small and fits easily into a pocket. It also has an optical viewfinder, which is really handy when taking pictures in bright sunlight, which tends to make it difficult to see the image on the screen.

Thanks for this wonderful product, though it is kind of much consuming batteries, while the images, and videos are very off quality.

I been taking pictures and movies with it I love the camera and vidoe camea works wonderfully. I am bummed about one thing no flash for night videos. I was trying to record my nephew and my son playing in the dark, couldn'tsee vid and hade to delete.

It seems OK for the price. I bought it for my father as he wanted a camera with an optical view farmer.
