Got cable with kindle fire when we bought it and it doesnt work either. Told amazon that an they said this one would work and it doesnt. Also later bought another kindle fire and that cable does not work either on our laptop. Had to buy adapter that plug into the wall, so we have to take turns charging our kindles. it just doesnt work.

Great service! Item arrived before estimated arrival date. Item seems to be working great!! My son was so excited. His expression was worth the money for a used item, although expensive.

Replaced a lower capacity cord with this one to charge my Kindle Fire. Kindle charging time is now much faster.

Like many other reviewers, I ordered this product after my original Kindle charging cord became naught but a pretty mesh of silver wires. Unlike many other reviewers, I first contacted Amazon to inquire whether they would replace an obviously defective part several years out of warranty and, lo! a $10.00 credit on my account, exactly the amount needed to purchase this item. I received my minimally-packaged order the very next day, despite having not paid for such expedited service, and the new cord works nicely to charge my Kindle from either the wall plug or a computer, just as I had hoped. So if you're thinking about buying this to replace the pile of plastic chips your original cord has become, try chatting with tech support or calling the help line first! And, if you're one of the people posting grumpy reviews about having to buy something you thought you'd already purchased -- well, maybe you should try the help line too.

Having misplaced my original Kindle Fire cable, and all other fitting USB cables failing to be able to charge it, I ordered this "Amazon Kindle Fire" charger, for the obvious reason. After turning it on after hours in charge mode, my Kindle still only had little % power left & refused to power up. Thankfully I found my original cable, naturally it was right in front of my face, and plugged it in, and low & behold, it was fully charged. This replacement went back and the return process was painless.

YOu would think a charger would have a wall adapter to plug it in to charge ... well that is what I thought. Was very disappointed that wasn't true. Not even sure what to order as mine works only when it wants to.

My original cord's outer casing failed in several places(cheap plastic). This cord is much more flexible. Meets my travel needs
