Drive is very quiet and doesn't seem to heat up much. No issue so far! Packaging was great and secure, but not excessive.

This was the best price I found when I ordered. I'm happy with the WD Blue, as the comparable seagate has had issues lately. If you want slightly better performance get the black. Otherwise, this does what it's supposed to do.

Великолепно

I back-up my computers on a regular basis & I use a Sata docking station. These drives slide right into the docking station very easy for a back-up. The drive itself is fine, its fast, & does its job well. Does a good quick job on back-ups too. Highly recommend.

Upgraded my wife's home office pc from 80GB to 1TB! No more worries for a while about running out of space. Its just a work computer for word processing and web surfing. Also the faster access speeds along with the memory upgrade have really improved the performance of the oldie but goodie. I recommend both for the price, capacity, speed and brand name.

I have this drive working together with a SSD (that I have my OS installed on) and it works great. I love having a lot of extra space to work with for storing video and audio files because I primarily use this computer as a video editing rig. I would recommend this for anyone who wants fast transfer speeds and a quality product from a great company.

Since my original PC-XT computer, I have prefetred Western digital drives. They have always been reliable and dependable. Don't forget to have a robust back up procedure. Hard drives can and will fail eventually.

Not happy with the quality of this product at all for the price. Paid 168. but worth about 20. This is an noisy clunker drive and I would not buy another "blue" product ever. I would go for a Seagate or some other reputable product.

This came with ZERO documentation, no Install CD, and most importantly NO CONNECTOR CABLE.Also, the procedure to transfer an existing drive's contents, like a Windows 8 installation, were buried on the vendor's web site.Couldn't follow them anyway, since it didn't come with the cable I'd need to have both my old AND new drive hooked up at the same time!After a day of jockeying, I finally got everything to work, definitely only for techie types.

I changed out my hard drive in my 4 year old computer (the old one was tired and slow as a snail). The new WD was excellent, just unscrew the old one, pop in the new one and reinstall windows. No complaints, computer runs 3X faster (no joke), with boot up times of 30 seconds on vista (used to take minutes). All around excellent purchase.

i tried two of these both faulty. it may just be the series i don't know . WD is normally reliable. returned 1st for replacement and when second one was faulty didn't want new one.

This is hands down the best purchase I have made so far for this old computer. The HD replaces the unit standard 320gb unit. The replacement is faster, has better graphics, and of course holds a butt loads more data. The only thing that could be better is that I could afford the $800 - $1,200 1gb solid state HD's that would give this old computer whip lash because of their incrediable speed.

Purchased this drive to replace a failed drive. This new one causes the machine to hang 2-3 times a month, just as you try to read or write. Will attempt a warranty replacement via WD.

i have some troubles to make it works, at the begining the pc dont recognized. but, that was becouse the disk dont had a format.At first I had some problems because the pc did not recognize the harddisk, but I resolved that in Control Panel>Create and Format Disk Partitions. After that I was able to format and partition the hard disk. Now is working great!

It worked right out of the box and it has been working fine so far, but I have not used it very much, so I can't attest to it longevity (minus one star). I set this drive up in a USB 3.0 HDD dock and made a clone of my main HDD for long term backup storage and I use Acronis on another HDD for my short term storage. I've checked this drive several times since I put the clone on it and its ready to go anytime its needed.

This drive installed with no problems. Just hooked up the data and electric cables - it was recognized by the computer after going the administrative section in the control panel and formatting the drive. I purchased two of these HDs and both work perfectly - very quiet.

Received this as a bare drive. Worked perfectly. Always hurts to see you lose a lot of space in formatting. Drive ended up being 931GB after I formatted it. Nature of the beast I guess. Windows 7 would not recognize the drive until i went into the device manager and formatted it. Until you format it, you wont see it in your system (other than the boot screen). I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend the drive.

Bought this drive to bring back to life a 4 year old iMac. Drive shipped very safely and has not given me any problems. Amazon had the best online prices for this drive. I even get a Western Digital discount through my company, and Amazon still had the best price.

These have been good, solid hard drives for me. Very quick, but they are only being used for VM's, where my base OS is installed on an SSD drive. Quick enough, large, and reliable. A good combination.

Purchased for a new build. Mine won't be used for booting so I can't comment on speeds of that nature. It is quiet and does its job. Has 931GB of space and I don't expect to fill it in the foreseeable future. Good product, great shipping.

The hard drive works, you may need an extra SATA cable and power cable to physically install it. Once in, just go to "computer management" then "disk management", format the drive so your computer could recognize it and you are done.

This drive worked exactly as it is supposed to out of the box. It is in a HTPC and it is essentially inaudible unless you have your ear to the case. At this price point, it is hard to beat.

Western Digital has won me over, for years I looked at WD as one of the worst drive makers due to their older PATA drives were just junk. Ever since SATA came into mainstream I have used several WD hard drives and they have been FANTASTIC! Seagate/Maxtor was my choice but their SATA drives are horrible.

I am very unhappy with this purchase. I order a 1TB hard drive, but it's a broken hard drive. It does not work when I installed it. I called the WD company they check the serial number and told me it's a 500G hard drive not 1TB. I am very angry now. I received an wrong and broken product.

Exactly as advertised--a nice, easy to install SATA3 drive. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they don't mention this is an OEM drive--no cables, etc. Just a drive in a box. Is that a reason not to buy it? Absolutely not. Just be sure you have your own SATA3 capable cable.
