I bought this card to replace existing card in an older, P4/Windows XP machine, and it works just fine. Installed the drivers, plugged in the card, and I was back on the network. I can't say much for its lifespan but its been running fine for over a week now. At a little over 10 bucks it's a steal IMHO.

After installation, this card worked flawlessly for me. If you look at the instructions, they say to install the drivers BEFORE installing the hardware, which seemed strange, but I did as I was told and everything worked great.

This product fit in the Dell slim line system without any problems. Network connection was great. So far I have not had any problems with this card.

I needed to upgrade my media server (win2k3 home server) and my home theater pc (win7 home premium) to gigabit from their built in 100bt NICs. I couldn't stream large 24gb+ 1080p high def mkv files, the network wasn't fast enough. But i also didn't want to dump a bunch of money into new cards so i checked out these Trendnet cards, i picked them up for 10 bucks each at another store.These cards install in a regular 32bit PCI slot. Both windows 7 and windows server 2003 recognized and auto-installed the drivers. These cards are based on the Realtek RTL8169 chipset and although my 2003 server had a driver already, i had to download a newer driver from Realtek to get Jumbo Frame support. The windows 7 driver that auto-installed was full featured.You will want to enable Jumbo Frames to get the most performance out of these cards. Unfortunately the driver only supports jumbo frames up to 7k (rather than 9k), but turning on jumbo frames upped my transfer rate for around 20meg/sec to 40meg/sec. So you'll want to edit your network card config and turn on jumbo frames.Overall pretty happy with the price/performance ratio of the card. Being based on the budget Realtek chipset, it's not the fastest gigabit card on the market. It is however plenty fast enough to stream 24gb 1080p mkv files between my media server and theater pc, something i couldn't do with the built in 100 meg nics.

This device doesn't work for Vista or the Wii. I bought it becuase when I searched for Wii Network adaptor it came up. Apparently it is not compadable with anything I own. HA, go figure. Atleast shipping was free. Too bad I won't return it because shipping it back costs almost as much as the cost of the item <$10 puchase...

Worked right out of the box with Kubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx. Unlike Windows, it did not require installing USB drivers...it is indeed plug-and-play!

I boght this to connect my Wii to a wired internet connection. The Wii does not recognize it (I later learned from the Nintendo web site that Wii will only recognize a proprietary connector. Once I bought that from Nintendo for 3 times the price of this it worked fine.)

I'm using this card in and old Dell desktop running Linux (Debian Mint). It works great, and I did not need to install any drivers, Plug and play right out of the box. I recommend this if you are looking for a 1-GB adapter.

Installed with Windows 7 perfectly - as others have mentioned, if you have Windows 7, don't use the CD that comes with the card. Windows 7 supports the Realtek chipset out of the box. Also, if you have trouble getting 1000Mbs with this (or any other network adapter) remember to check your network cable. Substandard cables may cause your PC/router/switch to auto negotiate 100Mbs instead of gigabit.

Works simply and great. Easy to just plug in and go in windows xp. You just need to follow small amount of easy instructions. Basically inserting a cd clicking a few buttons and inserting the plug ins. Very Easy. Works just as fast as if my ethernet cord was plugged directly in.

As others have stated, this device is USB 1.1, which makes it extraordinarily slow. I bought this since my daughter stuck a pencil in the ethernet port on my notebook. I usually use wireless so this isnt too much of a problem. However, I needed to transfer about 400-500 gigabytes of media to a NAS (Network Storage). I figured it would be more stable, and also quicker to go over wires. I was shocked to see the maximum speed it would transfer with this device is around 300-400kb per second, compared to about 10mb per second with an onboard NICWhat year is this again, 1999? Are USB 2.0 chipsets really that much more expensive for the manufacturer? Not to mention the lack of available information on this from Amazons description.

We needed to incorporate a secondary NIC for a computer at one of our offices. The PC was slimline and putting another internal NIC posed two problems: finding a low-profile one and finding someone in the office that was willing to install it. Therefore the USB NIC was a great choice.Being USB, it is very easy to install. Drivers also installed quickly. Knowing a little about networking does help, as we did have to program a static IP to this device. Once it was physically connected, I used a remote software to connect to the PC and was able to set the IP.The PC now runs on the internal NIC to our network and an external device plugs direct into the USB NIC. It works great and we have had no interrupt in connection.I would also recommend this product for home use as well. If your network card stops working, installing the USB is very user-friendly, definitely more than opening the computer itself.

It worked perfect and installation was super easy on the WIN98 SE. Recommend to those who still have issues with the networking for their win 98. Remember to change the IP Address under the internet explorer tools. Other ways you wouldn't be able to connect to internet. The IP would be the same as the router or the modem (it's a local IP address).

I got this at the end of July so I could make a computer on my network gigabit capable. I installed it and got everything working correctly. Tested the transfer speeds and they were around 4-6x faster than before which was a plus. Near the end of August I noticed that my switch was showing a yellow light for that computer which means it wasn't functioning at gigabit speeds anymore. I checked in windows and sure enough it was back down to 100 mbit. I reinstalled drivers, played around in settings, and it won't go back to using gigabit.I sent TrendNet a support ticket on their website about a week ago and they have yet to get back to me.Was good while it lasted, which was only for a month.

The adapter works good. I originally purchased it to use on my Windows 7 Home Premium box and found out that it just isn't commpatible. That one however, is on me as I should have looked more closely before purchasing. 2 things to note, I've read that it WILL work with higher end versions of Windows like Ultimate as that version of OS can run XP drivers. The other note is that I was actually able to get it working by running a VM (Virtual Machine) of XP on my Win 7. Though I thought this to be ironic that the host operating system could not use the device, it worked good in VM.

Card is cheap, but it does what it says. Unfortunately, you can't assign a static IP address to the card, which made it's intended use somewhat limited for me.

I received 2 of these cards packaged very neat and professionally. I installed one into an older desktop that is only used for internet access but having faster capability wanted more than the 100. After installing software and card, rebooted system and my light turned green on my switch and noticed that video watching and online gaming was as if I were accessing it from one of my newer systems. Transfer of data from a shared storage device was much quicker. Will have to buy more of these.

My laptop's ethernet port stopped working, so I bought the TU2-ET100 (has USB 2.0 compatibility) in a retail store, but I read about it first on Amazon. I wanted this one because some reviewers mentioned that an older version of Ubuntu was able to recognize and use it. I tried it out on XP SP3 and Ubuntu 10.04 and it works great! I had no need to use the included CD or read the manual. It was a simple plug and play under both tested operating systems. (I plugged the adapter into my laptop's USB and attached the ethernet cable before turning on the laptop.)If this matters for some people, the product is designed in USA and made in China. The adapter is bigger than the other more expensive ones, but for the price I'm very happy.

well lighting hit my dsl phone line and burned out my Ethernet port ,I bought this to run it thru the USB . It worked like a charm , even on((( 32 bit vista OS on HP laptop ))). it was simple plugged it in then loaded the driver cd , an there you go , even tho there isn't a vista driver on the cd , I just let it search on its own , an it installed an its up an running . this is great value an works great , as I said even on (((VISTA OS )) even tho vista isn't on the driver cd

The seller got the product to me within 2 business days with regular shipping. Unfortunately, the jerks at Nintendo want you to buy only their products so this will not work with the Wii.

Believe it! This works exactly as Mike Adams says in his review. I did not need the CD nor the instruction book. For networking my Series 2 Pioneer 57H Tivo, I simply plugged the adapter into my existing router and then into the Tivo USB port. By the time I could look up at the the monitor screen (about maybe 1 second!) the adapter had already been recognized and had an IP address. Checking my now-playing list, the other (wirelessly connected) Tivos on the network showed up immediately and I was able to read their now playing lists and transfer programs. Well worth the money. I have never seen a device so easy to use.
