After reading all the bad press around the Wii U, I was wondering if I might be making a mistake by not buying a PS3 or Xbox 360. Well, I'm glad to report I made the right choice!- The controller is not a gimmick, it makes a HUGE difference to the games I've been playing. Just being able to type your name from the tablet like keyboard, and not using a control and pointer to select the letters one by one, makes other consoles feel "old school"- Build quality is tops.- Games are brilliant.- Regarding the long upgrade downloads, you can postpone them until you're ready to do them. The console is 100% usable without having to do them.My only wish is that more games will become available soon, but the console is still very new so understood this will take time.

This game is really expanded from the first one. The landscape is changed as you travel through the entire Gotham City searching for things to unlock and discover. There aren't as many levels, but each level seems a bit longer. The addition I really like, besides the new character additions (more on that later), is the addition that allows you to save at different stages in each level. The new suits for both Batman and Robin are unique and fun to access as well. I agree with another review that the most fun is using Superman to fly around Gotham City searching for gold bricks and unlockable characters. I am nearly half way through the game, without having finished the story, and have found it equal to the fun level of the other Lego games. I enjoy being able to use Hawkman, Aquaman, Superman, and look forward to unlocking Green Lantern, Flash, and Wonder Woman to add to the Heroes I can use. The new Villains are great fun as well. When I saw Braniac, I absolutely knew I wanted to use him in Free Play mode. There are some instances during the game where I get turned around and lost due to the view of the game, and other times where I get stuck, but those are so infrequent and don't take away from the overall fun of the game. I think this is a lot more fun than the original Lego Batman, because of the character additions and expanded Gotham City. Instead of buying the characters from a Hub type location in some of the previous Lego games, this requires you to beat (a ridiculously easy) Villain after locating them in Gotham somewhere. The map helps you locate the Gold and Red Bricks, as well as the Villain and Vehicle locations. I am completely looking forward to playing Lego Lord of the Rings later in the year.

I've been swearing I wasn't going to buy this one for at least the last year. But my training from the mid-80s has taught me to snatch any Nintendo I see. All they have to tell me is I can't play Mario unless I get the new system and I'm there -- not actually standing in line or making phone calls this time, though. NO, no, no. I had to draw the line somewhere. The only one available this morning was the Basic Wii U and that helped me with my angst. The only difference is an extra stand and the extra memory, 32GB, in the U Deluxe. If I want more memory I will figure it out.Wii were able to connect this one to the lines from the Wii except the AC is a new dedicated line. Our television is rather old with only one HDMI so wii are connecting through our stereo. (I wiill be doing that for awhile.)The GamePad is fantastic! I thought it would be much more difficult to handle and it is true that my hands were fatigued rather quickly. I don't imagine that the children will use the GamePad. The regular controllers are supposed to work as well. You can play from the GamePad as easily as watching the game on television which is an interesting little twist. They tried to set the parental controls against me but I didn't let them.

The Component cable does a fantastic job. Not only does it clear up my old composite outlet on my tv, but despite playing 'standard definition' games on my 50" Plasma television the picture is crisp and clear.

Ужасно
The Nintendo Wii, it never lived up to it's potential. I was so excited for this system at it's launch. I waited in line with my cousin over night at Target to be one of the first to buy it. I picked it up with Zelda. Even from day one I was unimpressed... with full hype-goggles on I knew something wasn't so hot about this system.I booted it up, with my official Nintendo brand the competent cables(that cost extra) so I could play in 480P... I knew it wasn't going to look as good as the 360, but I didn't care. I just cared about the games. Much to my surprise when I hooked everything up just to come to the realization of how cheap it all felt. The sensor bar(which I didn't even know it needed at first), the look and feel of the menu's & hardware. The Wii-mote with this tacky wired dongle attached to it. It all felt like some cheap Chinese knock-off system, but it wasn't, this was the new Nintendo hardware! I couldn't believe it.Then I played Zelda for about 8 hours straight the next day. The whole time I wonder when it was gonna start getting good, at the time Zelda was by far and away my favorite franchise so I knew it couldn't be this dull. I kept playing, then I bought some Virtual Console games, then a few other "AAA" titles eventually came out and I bought them all... never quite feeling satisfied with them. They all felt very uninspired, and were missing that magic Nintendo of old had in their games. Then I started realizing that the whole system experience was like this for me; dull, uninspired, cheap, a side-step instead of a leap forward. So I sold it, and with the exception of Mario Kart, I haven't missed it at all. I watched as my idea of what I would want from Nintendo was constantly beaten with the truth of what Nintendo had become. They sold Wii Fits, and Wii Motion Plus', and Wii plastic shotguns, and put out Wii condoms, and added more warning screens, but they never seemed to stop all the non-sense and put the focus back into creating a new classic Nintendo master piece.I've been more than happy with my PS3/DSi set-up. I get my serious gaming on my PS3, and my Nintendo fix on the DS. I also have a 360, but I'm becoming increasingly more displeased with that system after having 2 break on me, and now all this Kinect junk being pushed, but that's for another review..What's left for the Wii... Skyward Sword? A game which everything I've seen from it looks like a poor excuse for what the Zelda franchise used to be. It's look like a full on waggle-fest, puzzle game. Not the great action adventure with light RPG & puzzle elements of old.Nintendo use to design controllers for games to make them work better(Super Mario 64), now they design games around their gimmicky controllers to sell more copies to the curious casuals(Wii Fit). There's little value in the first-party game library, and hardly any value in the third-party library. There's primitive motion controls (seriously, Wii MotionPlus in an attempt to make them less primitive?). The download service has gone from okay to piss-poor. And this was supposed to be the future of gaming...

This controller is a necessary evil and works fine, several games require both the Wii Plus and Nunchuk to control them. You can look on the games at the top right corner of the back of the packaging to see which controllers are necessary. There should be an outline of the controller that is required. AGAIN: This controller may be necessary to play some games.Kids will master the control in about 5 seconds, adults may never figure it out. I guess it could teach kids to be ambidextrous, which is probably good. The Nunchuk controller requires the standard Wii or Wii plus controller to work. The nearly 3 foot cable coming from the Nunchuk is inserted into the Wii controller.Make sure you have enough Wii controllers before you buy more Nunchuks as they will not work on their own.No Batteries are required for the Wii Nunchuk, it is powered by the Wii controller. The Nunchuk has a thumb toggle and 2 push buttons. There is no leash for the Nunchuk, so be careful when slinging it around. The shape is contoured and the size seems to work for small children and adults. The top is glossy and the bottom is textured for grip.Build quality is adequate, I am not sure why they are around $20 each.Their are other options that you can consider similar to the classic style controllers older generations of gamer are used to. They also require a standard Wii controller to plug into.Tangent:As a child of the late 70's and the 80's... I am starting to feel like I am missing the tech curve and the reasoning in packaging controllers with systems.I adapted from Atari 2600 (Still works 30+ years later), to Nintendo (Still works 25+ year later), to Playstation (Still works), to Playstation2 (Still works), and now the Wii.Why do I need 2 controllers, one for each hand? 30 years of 1 controller, why now do we need two controllers? Also:Remember when you were a kid and your Atari and Nintendo came with 2 controllers for 2 players... now you get 1 set of controllers for 4 players. So, the console with 1 controller and 1 nunchuk is $149.Then controller $30 each, nunchuck $20 each, Steering wheel $10 each... times 3.You would need to spend an additional $180 for all four players to play.So after nearly $350 everyone can play the one game the system comes with...

If you have been a savvy shopper and bought your Wii recently enough that it was a fantastic price, then you may be missing one of the cornerstone games of the Wii. Now, this isn't the best game on Wii by a long shot mind you, but it offers motion controls like few other games. Most of these are 4 player, and they thrive on multi-player action. They are okay single player but you might get bored more quickly. All games offer a variety of training modes and medals that can be won for each. Once you have played any one game a lot and done well, you are awarded "pro" status. This will give you some minor cosmetic bonus (stars on your bowling ball) that makes it feel worth it. There is plenty to do if you are the type who likes to 100% games. And all data is saved on your mii so if you put your mii on you Wii remote (Mii Channel) you can bring your high cores and records with you! This title includes 5 mini games where your custom-made mii joins others in some sporting fun: bowling, tennis, golf, baseball, and boxing.Bowling: This is a fully multi-player even with just one Wii remote! The remote will track your arm and your mii will follow in real time as you throw it down the lane (or down the gutter as I often do). No surprises here, even better than real bowling because I don't have to wear those horrible shoes.9/10Tennis: Co-op or Vs, up to four players. This is my favorite game on here, really energetic and accurate to the player's swinging. You don't play a full game, but you can just hit play again. It seems at first that you just swing but with practice, you will figure out techniques that assure victory of defeat.10/10Golf: 4 players, 1 remote play again (if you so choose). This is probably the best one if you plan on playing alone. Very fun and an enormous amount of room for improvement with practice.8/10Baseball: Glorified rock paper scissors. I almost never play this one anymore. To be fair, it is probably playing to a certain audience. If that is the case, I am not part of it. I don't feel like I've played it enough to offer much of a description, but the pitching seems sloppy, the batting seems dull and the rest seems over simplified. If you want baseball that much, play Mario Sluggers, also only $20.4/10Boxing: This one is pretty fun for a while but it wears you out and begins feel a bit repetitive after a while. Unlike golf, bowling, and tennis, the controls seem a bit off in this one. It is still pretty fun though. This one requires nun chuck and is up to 2 players. It is pretty satisfying to beat up on low level AI too.7/10All in all the game is good family fun. You will enjoy this no matter your age you will find something to love about this game (I a 23 year old guy, my 8 and 10 year old nieces, and my 59 year old mother-in-law all agree that the bowling is a load of fun). However, you will probably all find something not to love about it as well. The motion controls are exemplified by some games and laughable in others.Odds are,if you are looking at reviews to decide if you want it, you should get it.

ive had a wii since the day it came out. i ended up giving it to my dad when i left for the navy. recently during the holiday season, nintendo made the wii u and its awesome! i bought myself that and eventually decided to get this game. i never played mario kart atleast not since nintendo 64 days so this was a cool way to incorperate the wii remote and the new driving wheel accessory. the courses seem to be entertaining and they even have "the throw back" tracks from when i was first introduced to this game back on SNES. the graphics are good and they got a lot more characters although i am always yoshi (some things never change lol). this is a very fun game and a good game to play when you got friends over.-jilly
