My 10 year old son loves the Wii. He has many Wii discs. That is why I will probably have to buy my THIRD console in 3 years because they just stop reading the damned discs. I do not consider a $200 item disposable. It should work, or it should be cleanable by the user. Do not buy this unless you want to go down the rabbit hole of owning hundreds of $$$ worth of games that hold you hostage to buying a new console every couple of years.
Oh, if you do buy this, I'd recommend not buying games that require nunchuks. They are even less reliable... they last a couple of months at $25 a pop. You're not buying a one-time game, you're making a lifetime $$$ commitment.

Besides freeing up an AV port the picture is noticeable less pixelated. I have my Wii hooked up to a slim flat CRT so I can attest to how much it would improve on a flat screen.

The Component AV Cable for the Nintendo Wii works like it should -- it allows the system to display its video output to 480p. Images are a little crisper and smoother. For the cost, I would recommend this cable for anyone.

In Japanese commercials they're calling this thing the "Super Wii," which is essentially what it is. This is the Wii turned Super Saiyan. Not only are your Wii games and peripherals compatible with this console, but Wii games are also up-scaled in HD (making them look a lot better), and Wii peripherals also work with Wii U games.Nintendo's games look incredible in HD (if NSMBU is any indication) and will only get better. Some games from 3rd party developers have issues such as frame-drops, but that's their fault. They don't understand this technologically advanced console. Nintendo is always innovating; this console only runs on 33-watts of power when playing NSMBU. That's a fraction of what any other gaming console uses. Another innovation is the latency-free wireless, built-in screen on the game-pad. Although it's somewhat disappointing due to the low resolution and somewhat choppy picture quality, it's still quite nice, and I'd say the positive points outweigh the negative. I wouldn't recommend using it as your primary screen, though.Also introduced with this console is Nintendo Network, which is just like PSN, but for Nintendo. I will say this now; you should get this console sooner than later because it's the only way to make an NNID, so early adopters were given first choice for usernames. If you care for it, you may want to keep in mind that this account system will be standardized for future Nintendo consoles. (The 3DS will get this at sometime in the future, though, so if you don't intend to get a Wii U you'll want to turn there.)The console itself is aesthetically pleasing and well-built. Same goes for the game-pad. The plastic doesn't feel cheap and the screen is quite scratch resistant. I'm only disappointed by the analog sticks; they don't handle nearly as well as the PS3's dual-shock controller's. Although those were prone to wearing out easily - hopefully Nintendo made these to last.All in all, I'm very satisfied with the Nintendo Wii U.

I've been hearing about the Wii U from my son ever since news of it leaked. For the life of me, I couldn't understand the wow factor of this new system -- why a game pad was an improvement over a Wiimote.So, I've been playing Nintendo Land with my son today. Nintendo Land is like being in a big carnival with a bunch of little games to play. We only have one game pad, so I use the Wiimote while he's on the game pad or vice versa.We can't seem to play Nintendo Land without a game pad. I suppose that's the whole point of Wii U. It's like a fat, touch-sensitive tablet with a small screen and physical buttons in the same configuration as the 3DS (except there is a thumb joystick on both sides). I can swipe the pad for some actions, move the pad through the air to aim, or use the joystick and buttons when needed. Sometimes, my action is on the game pad while my opponent's perspective is on the screen (seemingly necessary because he is using the Wiimote). Other times, I can't play unless I'm actually staring at the television while at the same time swiping my pad. I'm finding game play with it less than stellar. It's big and clunky to hold, not entirely intuitive. Worst of all, it is awkward -- not at all a recipe for an immersive experience. I still don't see the point, except to make it something different from the Wii. Am I on a tablet in my own world or am I playing on the television screen? For the opponent holding the Wiimote, it's just like playing the Wii so why not both have a Wiimote and just play the Wii?If I wanted to play on a tablet, I'd have bought a tablet. This attempt to merge tablet and Wiimote just doesn't work. That's just me. My eleven year-old son is playing with his friend right now. He rates this system five stars. His friend rates it a million (will count that as 5). I am not sure how this will pan out in the long run. I like video games, but maybe time is catching up with me and the latest is no longer the greatest. My personal rating is three stars, averaging out to 4 1/3 stars.

I bought two controllers. First one didn't work out of the box. Returned no problem. Second one died 2 days after return policy ended. Save yourself the headaches and don't buy these cheap Chinese knock offs. On the plus side the nunchuk still works.

Terrible ..controllers are dirty and pink controllermissing back cover,sensor bar is huge wireless the bonus games dont play at all they are very scratched up,terrible condition

The cord was more than long enough, colors are more vivid now on a new flat screen, color scheme was a litle confusing but easy to figure out. great price compared to in store

well, I became fan of this game as my son did. The only problem it has is about role playing, there's the main character who stoles the stars.Anyway this is very funny.

We decided to purchase this used Wii on Amazon rather than a used unit from our local game store. The item was delivered quickly and was in great shape. The equipment was clean and functioned as promised. We'll definitely consider future used tech equipment from amazon.

I bought USED however the shipping was really fast and a huge surprise for me as I was expecting it to take at least two weeks for a product like this to be delivered. However in less than five days including the day I placed the order, I received it.
Everything that was written in the desc. when I purchased the item was included and HUGE bonus points for including TWO games along with a sensor bar, wii remote, the wii itself and all the cords especially at the amazing price+shipping it was purchased.
It did have a few scuffs on the outside (but that was in the desc. when I decided to buy it so not really a problem but if you do buy used keep in mind if it is not mentioned in the product details.)
The only real big problem I had with it was the color. (It looks more baby blue in pictures but in real life is more of a light teal color) but of course this is no fault of the seller and can easily be solved with a wii skin/decal.
All in all I loved the fast shipping, everything got here safe and sound, and now I have a new wii! I would buy from this seller again and recommend.

We just finally got a wii, and of course needed extra remotes+nunchucks.
My understanding is these are not the Wii remote plus, so the sensitivity isn't what you'd need for wii sport resort or some other games I don't have, but for everything we do, they work perfectly.

The console itself is perfectly fine, and it came with a remote and nunchuck. However, to the play Wii Sports Resort you need the Wii Motion Plus accessory, and it didn't come with that. The product description said that the remote was supposed to have that feature built in, but the console couldn't seem to read it. The game kept saying that the accessory needed to be attached, so I finally had to order it separately. It wasn't very expensive, but I gave the Wii to my husband as a Christmas present and it was frustrating to both of us that he couldn't play it right away since that part was missing.

UPDATE:I received a new console from Nintendo 1 week after I sent it. I have had it for 3 months and everything works perfectly. In fact, I am writing this on it.The Wii U is a great console. The setup was nice and easy. I actually managed to get the last one in all of the Gamestops in my area.I turned on the console, and went quickly through the setup process. Then came the long day one update. It lasted me 1 1/2 hours, but it wasn't that bad. The update finished , and I got on the main menu.The menu is easy to navigate on the Gamepad, and just awesome looking on the TV. I started by running the mini-updates on all of the apps, which each one took about two minutes. Then, I went and tried out every app. Loading times aren't terrific, but it isn't really a big problem. Nintendo announced that they are going to release an update to quicken up loading times.The console has great graphics. I used it for streaming Amazon Instant Video, and it streamed in HD with no problem and no lag. The Gamepad also had great graphics. It is also very light and comfortable to hold.The console worked amazingly until the fourth day. Then, I started getting the blinking red light of death. I tried resetting the adapter many times, but with no luck. Once, it got working, but it froze five minutes into gameplay, and wouldn't turn on again. I called Nintendo customer support, and they told me my console needs to be fixed, so I shipped it out, and am still waiting to get it back. Their customer service is great though. They picked up within a minute, and they gave me $10 eshop credit for having this trouble. But if you are worrying if your console won't work, THIS IS NOT A COMMON PROBLEM.Overall, I was very impressed with this console while it worked. I would highly reccomend getting this console. It is great for single player and multiplayer use. When compared with the Xbox 360 and the PS3, this console easily comes out on top.

We ordered this, waited over a month for it, and when we got it, it had this rattling noise whenever we moved it. Something had clearly come loose or fallen apart while being sent. When we tried to use it, nothing happened. We tried several kinds of batteries, but the remote never responded. There are some other reviews saying that the controllers just wouldn't connect, but ours refused to light up at all. Going to try to submit for a refund.

Not sure why, but though these devices seem to work fine for the actual playing, They don't seem to be able to remotely turn on or off the console like the orignals do? Not a big deal to me, but could be an issue if you were going to replace "all" of your remotes with these.

First I got to say don't buy these cables when I pluged it in to my tv and turned on my wii it turned super blurry and I couldn't see almost anything and all the colors were all messed up all of this happened when I chose the better defiontion on my wii but when I got out of it and back to regular definition everything was back to normal only once it was working well for like 5 mins then it went back to being blurry so I recommend buying from someone else and this is why I gave it a 2 star rating

Our original Wii "died" in October 2013, a pretty good run for such an item. Finding a reasonably priced replacement was tedious, but then I came across this one. While we are not Skylanders fans, and may never play the game, this was the best priced bundle available in the market. The blue is interesting, not my favorite, but also not a big deal (my daughter happens to like the blue). It works, and I'm happy.

After awhile and some thought I buckled under and finally got the Wii U Basic and while I've found that I do indeed enjoy playing on the Wii U and the unique design and ability of the tablet controller the only thing that really puts the Wii U above the Wii is HD graphics really. Also while the basic Wii U only has 8GB of space if you buy the physical copies instead of the digital downloads you'll be fine for a while unless you buy a ton of Wii U games then you'll probably need and external hard drive soon.This console feels primarily for the longtime Nintendo fans who are looking to prolong their Nintendo time as most of the games that so far have been released are already on the other two consoles already(PS3/Xbox 360) so unless you don't have these games and wish to add them to your Wii U gaming library any real Nintendo game is going to take a while to be released for us here in the States.The biggest question I'm sure many people have is is this system worth getting for $300?, and that's tough to answer as it really depends on your own preference and what game genres you like to play. Is this a good system if you have kids?I'd say yes but if they're in their teen years and are more into the hardcore action gaming and could be a toss up to this and the new upcoming next-gen PS4 and Xbox 720.Online service is also a mixed opinion,while I already had the Call of Duty for my PS3 hence no need for the Wii U version I did see the Wii U connects very well for the Nintendo store and Miiverse community still you'll probably not see a large gathering at this time of gamers online ready to play COD Farcry and the like.So for fans of Nintendo a good system awaits you and for other gamers a choice you must make on your own.
