I want to say first that I love the first Lego Batman game! I loved getting to play Batman and Robin and then switch to play all the supervillains. I loved playing the different puzzles and levels, as I do with every Lego game. As for Batman 2, I was very excited about the characters being able to talk. When I rented the game, I wasn't disappointed with the game play, which was very crisp and flowing, the interaction between the game and the controllers seemed very easy as well. It was also exciting to be able to see the characters talk and see the interaction between the different superheroes and supervillains.
The overall plot of the game is pretty straightforward. Batman and Robin, in the course of their duties protecting the city of Gotham, find that Joker and Lex Luthor have teamed up. Superman, of course, is present because of Luthor, but the rest of the Justice League also show up as Joker and Luthor proceed with their plan. The storyline is clever and it is executed well with lots of treats of new characters and new music from not only Danny Elfman's Batman theme, but John Williams' Superman theme.
However, one of the largest issues I faced as I played the game is that when I returned to the Batcave in between playing, trying to get back to the chapter I had been playing from the Batcave was not possible. I could not click on the map for a current chapter, only for completed chapters. I don't know if this was only my experience with the particular game disc I had, but I'm sure I got different discs and each one did the same thing.
The game does freeze up at odd times, usually after I had been playing for a long period of time and glitches of a character getting stuck requires a chapter restart, which goes back to the problem of trying to restart from the Batcave.
Overall, I think the game is a great deal of fun, but trying to get it function smoothly as the game proceeds makes it difficult to enjoy the game.

So far it's age appropriate and not too aggressive or scary. Not a game I let the kid play daily but definitely a good one to have in the game library.
Shipping was fast and arrived in perfect condition.

For my little ones, we were already finding the new Indiana Jones to be a bit challenging in that it doesn't feed you the white circles all the time to perform certain actions. So this version with the driving, the navigation, and the more free-form world is a bit more complex and a bit of a learning curve. But in the end it makes the experience more immersive and not just a repeat of Star Wars Lego Wii, etc. The main issue here is that with two players it is very challenging. It's hard enough to navigate a virtual world but when you cut the screen in half vertically it's REALLY hard. We got in the practice of having one player drop out if navigation was going to be a challenge. They should have split the screen horizontally instead.
Also, flying is REALLY cool! My kids couldn't wait to get Superman! His powers are tons of fun. But flying around in the free form world is a challenge. Controls are inverted like an airplane (i.e. push forward to go down, push back to go up). Unlike other games there is no way to toggle this off. Also, when trying to fly to a destination, Superman hits some sort of invisible wall so you can't move forward. You have to cross sections at the bridges for some reason. No heads up on this one, just several minutes of frustration.
The other big issue here that causes me to dock this another star: very very buggy! Several times our Wii has frozen with a loud hum, and the only recovery is a hard reset of the Wii. Another time our Wii locked up was when it was stuck on the loading screen, so we saw every tip in the game scroll by several times before we realized the game was locked up. Fortunately the game lets you save more frequently but this is still unacceptable.
