The Wii will do extraordinarily well against the other systems, mainly because of its revolutionary motion censor controler. The "Wii-mote" has absolutely no lag time when used, so if you swinging it while playing tennis in Wii Sports, or your sword is Zelda, there will be no hesitation in the game. The remote also has a built in speaker, so you can hear the engine in Need for Speed Carbon, which makes all of the games seem much more realistic. Also, the Wii-mote is accurate, so where you point it at the screen is where the cursor goes. Certain games require and attachable, uhhh, thingey called a nunchuck. Two such games are Zelda: Twilight Princess, and Rayman: Raving Rabbids.
The Wii gives players a very wide variety of game at the launch, so that gamers have a ton of options. For adventuters, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess should provide a lenghtly experience. If you want to race, Need for Speed Carbon or Excite Truck is for you. For those who just want to play a whole ton of whacky minigames, WarioWare:Smoothmoves and Rayman Raving Rabbids are absolutly fantastic. If you want awesome multiplayer games, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz and Wii Sports are for the whole family. For the dads and sports fans, Madden and Wii Sports are great to have. And for all the action cravers, Call of Duty 3 and Red Steel are two games many would recommend. Wii sports is included with the Wii Consol, so in no time you can be playing a free Wii game. And no, it's not a demo, it's a real game.
The Wii has no special needs, such a high-def T.V., or over $600 to own. The Wii is $250, and in the box comes the Wii consol, a Wii-mote, a nunchuck, Wii Sports, and everything needed to get started. It is by far the cheapest system, and also has the cheapest games. All Wii games start at $50, which is much better than the $60 X-Box 360 and PS3 games. Another great benefit is that the Wii can be played by anyone. My parents have played, close family friends have, and even my randpa and grandma have.
The Wii consol has everything that a gamer would ever want, all at an incredibly affordable price. I got mine on opening day, and have never had so much fun playing video-games. The Wii is for everyone, and therefor I am advising you to get this consol over any other.
Basically, get the Wii, you won't regret it.

I'd recommend this system to anyone no matter the age. It's the least expensive of the gaming systems out there right now. Yeah it's going to probably take a while to find one. Me, it took me less than a week to find mine but I got very lucky.

couldnt have picked a better Xmas gift. Love it!!!!

The one big thing about the Wii is what everyone knows about, the Wii-mote. The Wii-mote is a new twist on a game controller that makes the system more normal to the world. It looks, and functions like a remote control. Instead of moving an anolog stick up, down, and sideways, you just point the 'mote at the screen, and it moves there. Nintendo uses that function in all their games; example, in zelda, you move the 'mote to swipe your sword, or in a shooter, the 'mote moves the gun cross hairs. If the remote still isen't getting you all giddy and mabey not want to use it, fine, some games are gonna use the Gamecube's controller(Smash Bros. Brawl)
Next to that, another cool feature is the vitual consol. Virt. console allows you to download any game Nintendo has made(with a internet conection) on a home system, not handheld. The prices are more than stuff from other platforms, like Xbox arcade and whatever Playstation calls their stuff, but it still isen't expensive, the max price is $8. The Wii allows you to play 'cube games, but you can't download it, just stick 'em in. With an internet conection, you can download diffrent channels; theres an weather channel, it gives a 5 day forecast of most cites. Theres a news channel that gives any type of news, from international new to sports and to tech. Theres a photo channel where you can take pics from a digi cam or cell phone and email it.
Last of all is the Mii's and the free game, Wii Sports. Wii Sports is a free game that comes with the system, it has 5 diffrent sports(bowling, boxing, tennis, baseball, and golf) to play, most of them are gimmicky and not deep at all, but there great to play with parents or grandparents. The Mii's are avatars(or caracatures) that you get to play in Wii Sports and other titles(not all), there fun to make and you can get 'em to resemble celebs.
The Wii's the hot new thing these days, if you liked, do like, or never played videogames, buy this, there are developers that are making fun games for the hardcore to the never owed a system.

On the Wii Shop Channel, you can play all the games from NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Neo Geo, Turbo Grafx 16, and Sega Genesis with Wii points. You can buy new Wii points with the Wii Points Card (sold seperately), or with your credit card.
The Wii Classic Controller is only compatible with these games, but not mandatory for all games.
With its motion sensors, the Wii can be fun whenever. All you need is to pick up the Wii Remote, insert a game disc and the fun begins!
