All I can say is WOW! This camera has done everything I want it to do and more. The picture quality is absolutely amazing. There are so many creative things you can do with this camera especially when you incorporate the hd movie mode which I have to say isn't as bad as I had thought although if you move it from one side to another too fast it will look sloppy. I love this camera much more than I had expected and the optical quality of the 18-105 is great as well. If you aren't sure where to go with this camera or perhaps a canon 40d or 50d this is most definitely the better choice!Happy Shooting!

I just got the D90 today and already I'm in love with it. It's replacing my D80 which is a nice camera, but the D90 surpasses it in many ways, not the leaset of which is the video mode. It fits the hand just right, menus are intuitive and easy to find and adjust. The view finder is clear and I love being able to pop in a grid. I got the kit with the 18-105 lens just so I'd get the camera faster and find I'm delighted with the VR. The lens feels tight (my 18-200 tends to slip when pointing down), the pictures are crisp and spot on. I'm going to recommend you get a D80 so you'll buy my old camera...just kidding...get the D90 and you'll be so pleased. The manual is easy to understand, too. Luckily, it uses the same battery as my D80, comes with a slip resistant shoulder strap, battery, charger...everything you'll need to jump right in and start shooting. Oh, better get a SD card because it doesn't come with one. I bought 4gig card and get over 1000 pics in large jpg mode.

Wow. I've had the D90 for about three months now and I absolutely love it. Although it is does not have ultra rugged build quality like it's expensive siblings it shoots like you would expect from any Nikon. Amazing quality, speed, build, and stylish for a DSLR. The D90 is has a manageable body size that is fairly convenient to carry around with you anywhere. The CF-D80 case works wonderfully. Great camera, definitely recommended!

Nikon D90 was a great step up from the Nikon D40. As an enthusiastic amateur, I needed a camera that could do a little bit more, and the Nikon D90 has not disappointed. An added bonus is the live view screen and video options, as well as more options when working in manual mode.

I love it. I am a university student who takes photography fairly seriously as a hobby. I shoot lots of portraiture for friends and lots for fun as well. The High ISO capabilities of the D90 make it great for shooting concerts in low light. LiveView and Movie mode are slow, but who cares? I never planned on using those anyway.Overall a superb camera. Easy to use, intuitive, great results, and fun to use!

We love this Camera. We feel the quality of the pictures are great and love the fact that it takes very good low light pictures. Also I feel it is an added bonus that it takes short videos.

I received several errors ('CHA', 'F--') that made use of the camera impossible after 1 week of use; only way I could turn camera off was to remove batteries. Without the error, I would have rated the camera with 5 stars. If it seemed like a rare error I would have exchanged it for a replacement; however, it appears as if a non-trivial number of users have had same experience.Amazon did provide a complete refund and I'm struggling with whether to go down to a D40 or switch to Canon.

I read somewhere that autofocus on the D90 is slow. Maybe those people don't know how to use a camera.Auto focus on this baby is lighting fast. It will shoot all the frames you want in a second, and all of the pictures will be correctly exposed and sharp focused.Is my first DSLR, I had film SLR for years (pentax, Nikon, Canon) I had several digital cameras (Sony, Canon). But this one without any doubts is the best one by far.Thanks Nikon!!

The D90 is a great camera that will be appreciated by both amateurs and semi-professionals. The kit lens is decent for most purposes, but doesn't do the camera's capabilities justice. I recommend purchasing the D90 body and another lens (either the 18 - 200 or 16 - 85 & 70 - 300)-DBlotterman.com

I have had several expensive digital cameras, but this is my first digital SLR. Simply put, I am blown away with how fantastic the pictures are and how easy/intuitive the D90 is to use. I ordered it from Amazon with the 18-200 VR lens for total just under $1500. You don't need an expensive camera to take great pictures, but if you can afford it the D90 is simply outstanding. Worth every penny...

I am new to photography but this camera is making it easy to learn!! I studied for months which camera to buy, I wanted one that would allow me to be a beginner but after reading more books and websites about photography, also allow me to take more control. I LOVE IT!! The pictures are professional quality, in my opinion, and I get so many compliments on what I've taken. I would highly recommend this camera for any beginner like me.

This was my first digital SLR purchase following a history of compact digital purchases and 35mm SLR's.It arrived on my doorstep a few hours before Hurricane Ike and was a lot more welcome ! The initial impression on just recieving the box was one of quality and the camera has lived up to first impressions.The camera is a joy to use with super fast response and a really excellent LCD screen to review my efforts.I have not made more than a trial use of the HD quality video, but I saw enough of its potential to be suitably impressed.My only wish would be a for a glossier more descriptive manual to enable me to utilise more of its features without spending time coming to terms with geekish phrases and wishing for a better pair of glasses.I am glad I bought this and not Cannon Rebel !

I have had this camera for awhile now. I have put it through the 'paces' so to say. I cannot recommend this camera any more highly than I do. For the price that it is, it cannot be beat.I consider myself an advanced hobbyist. For what I need it is great.

I just wanted to stop by and say this camera is great! I had a canon p&s but wanted to advance to something better and this was easy for me to figure out quickly. I'm still learning a lot about photography and dslr's so excuse my "ignorance" :). I take my camera with me almost everywhere I go and use it daily. I definitely recommend the d90.

Two day after after receiving a notice that my order had been shipped from Hobby Warehouse 1, I received an email: "We have cancelled your Amazon.com order because the seller informed us that it was placed against an unauthorized listing."The refund was delayed to my next month billing period on my credit card. How can they take my money and 2 days later tell me the ad was fake? I am sure the D90 is a great camera, but I did not receive one from my order on Amazon.

This is one hell of a camera, a perfect replacement for my D80. If you want more controls, less noise, faster operation and geotagging (GPS unit sold separately) in a not-too-expensive package, this is the way to go. Highly recommended!

I just bought Nikon D-90 from Amazon.com about 2 weeks ago. It's great camera. I took photos on the Lunar New Year's Eve - Sunday Jan 25/2009 at a Asian temple. With this camera I enjoyed some photos taken in low light condition like that evening. I didn't have to wait as I took photos with a small digital camera. I have not tried movie yet.

I recently upgraded from a D40x to a D90 and the difference completely blew me away. The live view & video is a nice plus, but the best thing about the D90 is the excellent picture quality at high ISO settings. Shooting at ISO 1600 on the D90 looks better than ISO 800 on the D40x. The D90's controls are a lot easier to use. Instead of having to go to the menu for everything, you can set the ISO, image quality, etc. with a single button. The D90's lens support is also a lot better. It has an internal auto focus motor, so I can use auto focus with my 50mm/f1.8 lens.

I have the D90 camera (WITH 18-105MM LENS) and I love it.I am new to the SLR world and will let others write the great reviews.I would not even be writing this if it wasn't for the following product.Nikon CF-D80 Semi-Soft Case for Nikon D80 Digital SLR CamerasI just received it today and would give it 6 stars.Fits perfectly for the "Nikon D90" (Not lose and not tight)I believe it was made for the D80 and camera lens that comes with that item.I have the 18 to 105mm lens.The quality is great...could not be better...one reviewer of this item did not like it...don't know why.good material, padded just right. easy to slip camera and lens in and out.Not sure how I stumbled onto this item, but I am sure glad that I did.Item does NOT have the D80 imprinted on it..."Nikon" is imprinted on the end of the lens position.

Just wow. This is my second Nikon DSLR and a big step up from my fine D-70s. The D-90 is about the same size and weight which is important if you're holding this camera throughout a busy day. The focus is fast and accurate in most cases. The d-lighting is a nice feature for compressing highly dynamic lighting. Shooting 4.5 frames per second is wonderful. The rear screen is sharp and bright. The ability to shoot 720P video is nice but is limited by a lack of automatic focus. The resulting video is very sharp as the DSLR's lens are bigger than anything short of a professional video camera. Nice for an occasional video but not a full replacement.

I have always been a Nikon user and think they got it right this time. I also have a D300 and prefer the D90. Why? Thanks for asking...more hard buttons rather then trying to remember the menu. Lighter & easier to handle (I know it's not as bullet proof as the D300 but is built pretty sturdy). The main thing is the main thing-picture image: Except under extreme cases, the average (and pro) would be hard pressed to see any differences between this & the $700 more D300.Get one, add the kit lens & enjoy! It should be all you need in a camera.Fussy con for me: Nikon Capture NX 1.x.x will not read the D90 RAW files. So I suggest calling MR. Nikon & telling him to include a RAW software viewer.
