Installation went smoothly of netgear n300 wireless router wnr2000v2. I used the included software install disc. total installation time was about 40 minutes including the peripheral connections. I had to go back and do the install again because I entered my security code wrong (and I liked the one i had) and didn't know how or if I could change it manually after the install. It connected quickly to my desktop HP with windows vista home premium with a linksys DUAL BAND WIRELESS pci card WMP600N THAT I had just installed. It also connected with: a 6 yr old dell latitude with windows xp professional, a newer toshiba laptop with windows 7 home premium, a brother mfc495cw wireless printer, and a mitsubishi dlp 73838 tv through an assurewave aw-nu231 wireless usb adapter. after one week the the connections have been stable with no dropped connections, the computers seem just a fast as they were when wired, and the vudu connection through the mitsubishi has been strong and fast enough for smooth hd 1080 video streaming. Now i'm placing my cable modem and router on an end table just inside the outside wall of the house where the cable enters and am completely wireless - just have patch the holes in the walls where the wires ran. the only problem I had was connecting the old dell it has a g wireless card connection and the security type it was set for would not connect. I selected a different type and it works fine now. don;t know much about it but it worked.

After some issues with connectivity, the device has worked very well. We're not sure if the problem was related to our computer, our internet service or the device itself. The wireless use is much quicker than most places, which is great.

I replaced a netgear 3400 with the wireless extreme for mac, and am pleased. The range is better than the 3400, ease of set up is a breeze. As advertised no software to install, the router is high class and worth the money. I recommend it to everyone.

Like any dual-band 802.11n router, your connection gets a choice of either the 2.4GHz band *or* the 5GHz band, but you can't actually use both at the same time with any one client, or easily hop between them like Netgear's ad and box copy would have you believe. In fact, I had to use the 2.4GHz band because my laptop's radio wouldn't see it on 5Ghz. Setup for choosing frequencies is also fairly confusing, and you only get "automatic" with some configurations, not others. On the ADSL side, the product worked without a hitch on my ADSL2+ line, syncing reasonably quickly. The hidden command-line tools ended up being very useful when I had my ISP play with my noise profile on their end and ended up with SNR settings a bit too low. No web interface to this, though that's to be expected.Firewall support is shockingly primitive for this device though, especially when it comes to port mappings. The abilities are all there in the Linux OS behind the scenes, but the web interface is extremely cumbersome here. Thankfully I have simple needs as firewalls go, and the UPNP support appears to work adequately for my needs. The USB port is now fully operational and worked flawlessly as a windows share when I plugged in a thumb drive, though I would really have preferred having zeroconf printer support. It might be supported, but I see nothing in the web interface that suggests this. I might end up having to use a third party firmware, but support for that tends to be sketchy with Broadcom's ADSL chipset (which unlike their wifi chipset, has no open-source driver). The large blue button does flash and blink annoyingly, but simply pressing it for about 2 seconds turns off the lightshow. Pressing it for 5 seconds activates WPS, which I found very handy when connecting the wifi dongle on my TV.The unit does get pretty warm, so I do recommend putting it up vertically on the stand for ventilation.

Great little gadget! And simple to set up! The 'picture' in the directions is rather 'vague' and doesn't label the pieces. One part shows an arrow to a wire and all it says is :"Not Included"...?! But doesn't tell you WHAT it is that isn't included. I assumed it to be an Ethernet cable, which turned out was accurate. At least the way this got hooked up...IT WORKS! For the price? PERFECT!

Like some of you, I was having a wicked time trying to stream HD/3DHD movies to my consoles and other devices. Sometimes it worked, but most of the time it was very choppy. I purchased two Vizio HD dual band routers that used the 5ghz wireless-n signal and 3 of these. FLAWLESS.Just to clarify, you can bridge these to an existing router just fine. You dont need to have a pair of them to create the bridge. I have one dedicated to my PS3 for streaming 3D HD content from my computer. The one of the PS3 bridges to the HD router upstairs, and my computer has one that bridges to the HD router downstairs. using the bridge on my PC instead of the Ethernet cable allows me to easily saturate my 10/100 routers now with multiple devices streaming HD content. We're talking about my computer pushing out 2-3 streams of 20-25 megs/sec without missing a beat. My computer has a 10/100/1000 onboard LAN though. This was the best decision on my part. I wont need a gigabit switch for a good amount of time now.

I've owned this product since Dec 2009 and it has always worked flawlessly, until recently... the connection drops often (for the last few months) and finally over the last week it stopped working completely. My phone support was obviously expired at this point, so I was forced to rely on internet searching for a solution.THE FIX: update the firmware on the router. Go to[...]and type in the model number (WNR 3500) in the support section, then download the latest firmware. Follow the instructions on the download page to install it. You can also update it automatically via the router utility, but I have never seen this actually work--you are much better off just manually downloading the file as I have descibed.UPDATE: Since I updated the firmware, it is working just as great (if not better) as usual and I have no complaints. Great product and still going strong over 2 years after purchase!

My old ADSL modem was on the blink. Long conversations with AT&T offered a new "non-specific" modem for $99. Rather than accept whatever the carrier wished to send me, I found this ADSL and router.A dual band router has a few distinct advantages. Most significantly not all WiFi devices connect to N-band routers. So having B and G signals broadcast opens up your home network,Netgear advertising this device as being suitable for streaming HD video. In the new era represented by Amazon On Demand and Netfix, this is an important capability. It is suitable, however you need a suitably fast ADSL connection. Make sure you have a connection by testing your speed. Speedtest.com has a good free app for iPhone and iPad, as well as a web based test. Test it at different times since broadband speed is effected by usage from other customers on the circuit. Now there is one documentation problem with this product. You must connect your computer to the modem when setting it up. During installation there is a call for a username and password. This is not your ADSL username and password, rather it is a Netgear generic username and password. This confusion resulted in a delay in setup of over an hour. AT&T finally told me what to do, but a call to Netgear was not returned. That issue aside, and hopefully this hint will help you past the problem, this is an excellent choice when its time for a new modem and router.

My linksys has been chugging along for years - no problems at all.I decided to "upgrade" since my computer has an N nic and I really wanted to access my external harddrive from the internet. This router drops connection periodically (for 10-15 minutes at a time). Furthermore I've been wrestling with "ReadyShare" all afternoon & night. Seeing the files/folders locally works (eg: \\ReadyShare\). Writing to it however never works. When I attempt to connect via internet [...] it never works at all in Windows Explorer (Win7 and WinXP) and in IE it allows me to browse - which isn't useful! All of this is rather inconsistent - as in it works sometimes and other times not (sometimes just hitting refresh will make it pop up correctly). I have the read/write permissions set properly - and I've carefully gone over every option available on the router. The google searches and forums haven't given me any breakthroughs. At this point I'm going to use DD-WRT on the router and maybe it will become less useless. Even if that does help, this router still should not be bought by anyone. It's garbage.

I've owned this router for about 6 months. It has a lot of great features and is pretty reliable. I seldom need to restart it. Recently I noticed my internet download speeds were slow though. After some debugging I determined it to be caused by the router. Connected directly to my cable modem I can get 22 MBps but through the router it tops out at 9.5 MBps. This is over Wifi (G) and a 100 MBps wired connection. I called Netgear tech support and they said I was outside of the 90 day warranty period and I could pay $70 for support. I may as well get a new router that works. Upgrading my firmware to 1.1.2.28NA didn't solve my problem either. Feature wise I really like it. It has a decent web interface, traffic usage, port forwarding, and most of the standard features you'd expect on a router. If you buy this router, be sure it isn't throttling your connection and if it is, return it.

I just purchased this little WiFi adapter for my home entertainment system. It's hooked up to my Blu-Ray player for now to stream from my network. Installation was easy enough thru WPS. Upgraded the firmware (a must!)and away she went. Good signal strength from my Netgear WNDR4500 Dual Band Router and the streams are strong and constant. So Far....So Good! It's worth the bucks.

First thing - most of the reviews complaining it does not work, or do not work as a bridge missed that it is a 5Gz device. As such, check your device since most lower cost devices only works with 2.5Gz (i.e. if your device works with B/G, it is 2.5Gz). 5Gz devices are less popular, and more expensive. But people who really wanted searches them out because its signal is much stronger at home env (shorter range) and has much less interference due to both wider frequency range and much less interference. So check your equipment. If it does not match, don't bother or upgrade them all. Actually, 802.11N at 2.5G is a not really useful. It needs the whole channel range to be able to run at 300mbps, and I never see a clear free 1-11 channel for the years I've been using wireless.I have a linksys WRT160N b/g/n router running DD-WRT. It work great, very stable. But the speed never get above 25mbps due to interference from neighbor, phone, bluetooth, ... and keep on fluctuating too - video streaming is a joke (it shows 54mbps sometimes, but as soon as I use it, it drop down). Plug this device in as an access point. The connection goes to 300mbps instantly and stay there throughout my streaming. I have 3 wireless devices stream video and no pausing. Even 802.11a works well. I don't connect to ethernet anymore - access to local NAS is as good as on wired connection. So now I have full coverage a/b/g/n with distributed access point on dual band in my home. Works out well.Even 802.11a is running at 54mbps solidly. I was not quite convinced 802.11a is much better than 802.11g until using this device. BTW, I got this refurbished for $20 so that make it a much sweeter deal.Downside - some reviewer complain the shorter range of this compared to 802.11g. I have similar range. Which is a bummer because N supposed to give me better range. Looks like the MIMO part is not that well done (or done at all).

Yes it does work as advertised with all the bells, whistles and dazzling lights, but some other wireless DSL routers have similar functionality and are priced for a little less. After my old 2-wire DSL router died, I decided to buy this as a replacement. I couldn't wait for shipping. So I bought this DSL router from a local store. I've also been disappointed by other reviews on the internet for this DGND3300-100NAS. So I'm writing this review.I mainly got this DSL router because of the energy star logo on the box. It lives in the temperature extremes of my garage, and some of the other DSL routers ran a little too hot. It works with my AT&T DSL. I've only been using it for the past day, and I have not had any connectivity issues. I'll update this review if the stability changes.I never really had wireless connectivity problems with my old router, but the new wireless router now stays at 100% signal strength through out my house. My other router would sometimes go down to 90% at the farthest edge of the house. I set this router to "Up to 130 Mbps at 2.4 GHz. Neighbor friendly mode".If you are familiar with configuring home routers through a web interface, this won't be much different. It's fairly easy to set up.Compared to my attached 8 port gigabit switch and my 6 megabit DSL, the 802.11n standard isn't very interesting when compared to 802.11g. Downloading from the internet is limited to my purchased 6 megabit DSL, and wirelessly transferring files to my network attached storage is limited to the 100 Mbps limit of the integrated 4 port router. Though now my router supports 802.11n in case I ever get such a device that requires it. I'm glad it has the more secure WPA2-PSK, and there is a setting for both WPA2-PSK and WPA-PSK to be used at the same time, which is helpful for migrating the settings of your wireless devices. It does have one minor annoyance. I'm not sure why it has so many bright blue blinking lights. It looks like a disco in my cabinet now. If your DSL modem will be in a bedroom you use for sleeping or any other room that you want to keep dark, this may be a concern for you.One feature I missed from my 2wire DSL modem that I haven't found on the Netgear DSL modem is the Management Diagnostic Console. It's a hidden set of pages that provides error diagnostics and a pretty ASCII based bitloading graph. It was helpful to diagnose which radio frequencies were interfering with my DSL. In case you didn't know, telephone lines act like huge radio antennas, which interfere with the DSL signal. That's part of the reason why shielded coaxial cable from cable companies can have higher transfer speeds. Most people won't be fanatical enough to care about this missing diagnostic feature.-------------- Review update December 22, 2009 --------------It's been a few months since I reviewed this product, and I decided to go back to the latest 2wire modem from AT&T. After upgrading to the latest Netgear firmware level for this modem, I noticed the bandwidth rate became inconsistent. On several occasions the DSL Reports speed test reported that my 6Mbps DSL line (5.1 Mbps real bandwidth) went down to 3 Mbps occasionally, and on average the Netgear modem seems to be about 5-10% slower than my new 2wire modem. I'm dropping this review from 4 stars to 3 stars due to this new slowness. The sad thing is that the 2wire modem from AT&T is cheaper than this modem :-(
