I have AT&T U-verse for wireless internet. The wireless modem AT&T supplied works great on one side of the house where my ps3/360/Wii are, but not the other where my wife's graphic design computer is. I have no desire to run ethernet cables throughout the house. So I was in the market for something to amplify the wireless signal and to make my wife happy, who wants a computer with no internet? Many signal boosters are not compatible with U-verse and after talking with AT&T via customer support they recommended Netgear. I followed the instructions for installation and the entire process took less than 10 minutes (literally). My wife's computer now connects to the Netgear booster directly instead of the wireless AT&T modem. The signal strength went from 2 bars to full bars. Her internet speed increased significantly. It worked as expected, no issues at all.

I tested on 2 PCs, a Mac and a Dish receiver and It didn't worked. I dint minded that it was used, as long as it work.

Upgrade from old router for under $30. Better signal on second floor of my house from same location as old unit. Why spend more :-)

will not work on CenturyLink phone lines. I spent about 8 hours total with netgear's customer tech. to no avil.I also spent as long with CenturyLink's tech suport to no avail

I purchased this with an FVG318. I am using it to cover the second floor of a large 2 story gym. The dual bang is nice and the signal actually reaches the 1st floor too - there is a concrete and steel floor seperating most of the first and second floor. I have been buying NetGear access points for a number of years as well as their routers. I have always been very happy with them. They are reliable and that is necessary for businesses that need to be up all the time.

Worked really well when I got it about 9 months ago, replacing a dead Airport Extreme. Now at only 9 months continually drops connections until turned off for a minute or so, then starts doing it again 1/2 an hour later.Unfortunate that the home network equipment builders can't seem to create a networking product that lasts more than a year for the life of them.

Nice unit. But the range is not very good all things considered. Would I buy another one? No, it might be fine in a house, but it blows dead bears for commercial use.

If I could give the Netgear N150 (DGN1000) zero stars, I would. I used (and I use the term loosely) this modem router for nearly two months. Sometimes it worked, but mostly it didn't. I spent countless hours trying to figure out why my Internet connection kept dropping--hours on the phone with my ISP, hours reconfiguring my settings, hours rearranging my other devices and furniture and everything else I could to keep my Internet running properly, and it was nothing but trouble. I'm not sure who would find this product useful, but I found it to be worthless. I'm pretty sure the product wasn't defective, just extremely poor.Even when I had only one computer hooked up at 2:00 in the morning, the router would often fail within two or three clicks on the Web. Downloading was a joke--sometimes it worked fine, but the majority of the time it wouldn't load or would drop mid-download.Now, to be fair to Netgear, I upgraded to a Netgear High Performance N300 Wireless Dual Band Modem Router, and it's been excellent. No dropped connection (so far), faster speeds, better range, etc. Clearly it makes a difference to spend the few extra bucks and get a higher quality product. Just DO NOT buy the N150, unless you're a masochist.

The Range on this route is not very far. I got it because I believed the range on my old router was bad, but this one is worse. But, for the price it is hard to beat if you are in a small space like an apartment. I returned it.

I recently got married and my wife and I decided to upgrade our lifestyles accordingly. That meant switching out a one-bedroom apartment for a three-bedroom one; buying a nice TV set; hanging up my jeans and putting on a pair of khakis; and setting up a wireless network for our home.Now, I had set up a wireless network at our old place, but it was just a cheap Cisco router that I was never really happy with. I had decided to buy my wife an iMac as a belated wedding present, and so I went out and picked up the necessary things. The iMac. Snow Leopard. An iPhone. A new necktie that doesn't have pictures of SpongeBob on it. My wife was ecstatic.And, last but not least, I decided to buy us a new router. A router that's heavy duty. A router that's Mac compatible. A router that would provide us with internet security and one that we wouldn't be nervous or ashamed about our friends connecting to when they came over to visit.This is not that router.Oh, sure, the box suckered me in easily enough, with its pictures of smiling women with earpieces in their ear promising me tales of compassionate customer support, and it's large sticker that read "Mac compatible" on the bottom. Allow me to tell you that this router likes to be about as Mac Friendly as Al Capone likes "bring your daughter to work" day.For the past two days, I have been fighting this router and trying to get my Mac to recognize that it exists. This would be a wonderful product if I were attempting to give an analogy of the Middle East peace process, but no, I just want to play my Xbox. My "resource CD" is mysteriously bereft of resources, unless you choose "language option" a resource.I then tried to go to the customer support website, and received instructions to "log into" the router. However, using the address supplied to me only sent me back to the welcome page. I've had as much luck "logging into" the blasted thing as Helen Keller has during a game of "I Spy."I then tried to register my product online, thinking that maybe this would somehow make the Netgear website more sympathetic to my cause, but no dice: it seems that somebody else has registered the serial number. I"m not quite sure how this is possible, considering that I bought this router factory-sealed, but I can only guess that either my customer service representative at Wal-Mart was a little too proactive or that NetGear has Cheetos for brains.After two days and $110 out, I've given up on the router. It's won. It sits here now, mocking me with its refusal to recognize my computer or to perform as advertised. I'm left to ponder what other evils this router has plotted. I'm relatively certain that if HP Lovecraft were alive today, his tales of inhuman horror would have been influenced by Netgear. Dante Aligheri couldn't have penned a worse tale.I've yet to run this router over with the back of my van or to use to take my rifle to it, but it's only a matter of time. Destroying this piece of crap will be a very, very guilty pleasure.I'm going out tomorrow to buy a new router. One that isn't made my NetGear.

This router worked for several months but now requires resetting every 1-2 hours when it drops out. This is extremely frustrating. Flimsy design in the manufacturing.

My previous router had spotty connection in my apartment and I had never been a fan of wireless as a result but after upgrading to this new router we haven't had any issues with our connection at all. The admin interface is really easy to use as well.

I was a little worried while ordering this router because it was refurbished, but I took a chance with it. It works perfectly!!!All I had to do was plug in the cords, reset the router by holding down the reset button for a few seconds, and then log in to the website given on the router's underside and follow instructions on-screen. Worked like magic and VERY easy to use!It hasn't dropped my signal once and coverage is solid throughout my place. :)Glad I didn't pay the full price.

Hooked it up following directions, and five minutes later was using it. Works beautifully and looks nice as well. Can't beat it for the money.

I have had this router for two years and it works great. I like the power on/off button because I shut it down at night. The only issue is that every once in a while you have to reboot it but this is normal for a router. Great price and it works threw floors and 50 feet away.

What a deal! I was so satisfied with this product. It worked right out of the box. The instructions for installing were (hardly needed) available on the website. My suggestion: download the 'genie' program from Netgear. It's great.The design is simple, very clean and kind of futuristic/minimalist.At a fraction of the price of the brand new one, I would certainly buy refurbished again. It's almost the same thing.
