My other wireless router would only allow me to have 5 wireless devices connected to it at a time which was a pain since I have over 10 devices that connect to wifi. This wireless routed works like a charm and I have no difficulties getting all my devices to work at once. Definitely a must have and I'm glad that I was able to get it at such a good price!

Although this product installs easy enough and connects fine to a Netgear router I have. The connection speeds drop off very fast with any distance or obstructions between the router and the adaptor. I could only manage 52Mbps through a Netgear N 2.4Ghz router even though it was only 10 feet away from the router. I did have a wall between the two. But even with no walls the connection speed were much less then expected. I am not surprised by this as the device is so small I cannot imagine it can have much of a antenna system to it. I suspect it must use the ground side of the USB system to have any gain whatsoever. So I guess this will work if you do not have long distances between your device and the router. Don't expect it will perform as well as a built in card for example in a laptop.Or a PCI desktop card with a decent antenna. The price is right but you get what you pay for.

Easy to install, simple to use, and aesthetically pleasing to boot! I have had this router for 3 months now and it has been solidly on since the day of arrival, only off because of power loss from Sandy and playing musical furniture one afternoon. I have not had one problem. I highly reccommend this product, despite the "Refurbished" tag.

After trying a couple of other routers this one is by far the best to use with my macbook. It set up easy and have had no problems with it.

Just got mine the other day and first thing I did was upgrade the firmware, as you should!My router was the Netgear WNR3500L, version 1. Make sure yours is version 1 if you use the links below for updated firmware (look at the router near the power port, if it says "WNR3500U / WNR3500L" and there's no "v2" then you've got version 1.The router comes with a version of Kong's DD-WRT software, so it's easiest and safest to just upgrade to the latest version of the same firmware, which you can find by searching for "desipro dd-wrt".Builds labeled nv32k are suitable for Netgear this router, the WNR3500L V1.

I always buy netgear. I needed a cheap but well made easy to set up router for my sons apartment. For less than $30 delivered I had a netgear router up and running in less than 15 minutes. I have a huge house so I have the 3400 plus a 2000 extender. We get strong internet throughout my whole house. This came in about 3 or 4 days using free shipping, very nice. Product is refurbished so no retail package and no instructions. Easy set up instruction on the Netgear website.

I bought two of these for use with a pair of Raspberry Pis running Raspbian Linux (which is based on Debian Wheezy). The stock kernel provides the 8192cu driver which works with this device. However, the driver only supports the G channels, so if you need N, you will have to look elsewhere.I have only tried this device connected to a powered hub, so I don't know if it will work when plugged directly into the Raspberry Pi.To configure the device, search the internet for my tutorial.

UPDATE - 2010-MAR-20:I bought yet another Netgear WGT624 Wireless Router but this time for my parents. And yet again, it was this particular refurbished (recertified) wireless router. But this time, I ordered here on Amazon from CompUSA who is a third-party seller here on Amazon instead of from Tigerdirect who is also a third-party seller here on Amazon. CompUSA is actually owned by the same company that runs Tigerdirect. Tigerdirect still sold this wi-fi router here on Amazon, but the CompUSA price was lower. I figured it had to be coming out of the same warehouse and they were just doing separate accounting for what products sold under their CompUSA store brand versus their Tigerdirect store brand. When I received the wi-fi router, the shipping box from CompUSA and everything inside the box including the invoice were just like if it was coming to me from the Tigerdirect branded store except it said CompUSA. Also, the separate emails (apart from the amazon emails) from "CompUSA" looked like what I remember getting from "Tigerdirect". Anyways, my parents dumped AT&T DSL and switched to cable internet. And they needed a wi-fi router to work with the cable modem. As expected, this was an easy setup. The cable modem was to be connected to a wall connection behind the TV set which was sitting on a shelf built into the wall in the living room. As a result, the cable modem and this Netgear wifi router would be sitting behind and to the right of the TV on that same shelf in the wall. When my parents would watch the TV, they could lean a little bit to right to see the lights on both the cable modem and the Netgear wi-fi router. There was no interference with the TV reception (over-the-air antenna tv) and there were no problems with the wi-fi throughout the house. So, it is all wi-fi for all of the computers at my parents' house with excellent five-bars wi-fi connection to the internet.UPDATE - 2009-DEC-29:I bought another Netgear WGT624 Wireless Router but this time for my sister. Again, it was another refurbished (recertified) wireless router that I bought again from Tigerdirect that they had for sale here on Amazon. It is simply a good product that is easy to set up. Something that I should note, if you have a desktop computer sitting next to your cable modem or your DSL modem and this Netgear wi-fi router, if you don't have an ethernet connection on that computer, try either using an ethernet USB adapter on that computer to directly connect to the Netgear wi-fi router with an ethernet cable -- or use a wi-fi USB adapter. Or, better yet, install a wi-fi PCI card into the motherboard on that desktop computer. My sister's desktop computer had no ethernet connection and I found it to be better to turn that computer into a wi-fi capable computer. Of course, having this Netgear WGT624 Wireless Router is to have other wi-fi capable computers elsewhere in their two-story house to able to have a wi-fi internet connection.ORIGINAL REVIEW: I got this Netgear WGT624 Wireless Router last year and it's been working great. It's turned on all the time sitting next to a Motorola cable modem on top of a bookcase cabinet with their lights blinking. I got this Netgear router for $19 plus S&H. It was recertified and for me that means it works. And at $19 that's a great deal and worth the risk. I want to get another one (since they're not ridiculously expensive) for when if this may possibly go kaput. I don't expect that to happen, but you have to prepare for such a possible eventuality since I don't want to be without a wi-fi internet connection - just be prepared to swap out the old and put in the new. Swapping out things is an old habit I've had from when I did backup systems analyst work having to prepare for things not working and breaking down - I try to have eventual backups (always on the lookout for cheap prices for same equipment that I have) for everything not just software backups but hardware backups also. Anyways, it's simple to set up. Just plug the ethernet cable to connect the router to the cable modem and then plug it all in. You can connect four computers to the router via ethernet cables. I have one ethernet cable going from the router to an eMac and another cable going out but not connected to anything - that's a spare for if I want to have a direct ethernet cable connection for a laptop. Otherwise, it's wireless for my macbook downstairs for me, wireless for my sister upstairs, and wireless to a desktop PC. It all works. When you first set it up, you have to go into the Netgear smartwizard (local) webpage to set things up - I did this via a computer connected to the router via the ethernet cable. Be sure to set the security options (for the encryption) settings with whatever name (SSID) you want for your local network as well as input whatever password/passphrase you want to use. Yes Amazing!!! No doubt about it. Just load the software. Plug in the micro adapter. Sync up with router. And away you go! So simple and easy, just the way it should all be. This is the tiniest PC accessory I have ever seen or used; and it works great. I still have an aging Dell desktop PC, running XP, and when the big old internal wired internet card went out suddenly, this micro adapter solved the issue easily. Note: be sure to unplug the ethernet cable - you won't be needing it and it may interfere with this product functioning. Also note - I first plugged this into the rear of the desktop case USB port, and it lost single when I slid it back into our PC furniture cabinet. Luckily I have a strip of USB ports up high in the cabinet near the screen, where the single strength is great, even with our router being upstairs. (this product did not come with an USB extension cable, as noted by some?) Overall - A big THANKS to Netgear!

I bought this after having a bad experience with the Amped line of extenders. This repeater was a breeze to setup, even the advanced functions. There wasn't a need to take a computer and reconfigure it to do the initial setup, right out of the box all I had to do was connect my laptop to it's temporary wifi ssd and reconfigure it from there using a simple step by step setup. I really like the fast lane technology where you can have it communicate on one band to your router and one band to your devices. Doing this increased my repeat speed by 300%. I live in an apartment building and can see over 20 wifi networks from my normal operating area, using the fast lane setup where I use 2.4Ghz to connect to my router and then 5.Ghz to connect to my devices works best as the farther out you take your devices in a 2.4Ghz wifi cluster environment, the more interference you have. One thing people should realize in that the signal is being repeated. . .don't expect to get the same speed as connecting directly to your router. When connected to my router I get aprox. 60-95MBs throughput, when it is being repeated on this product I am getting at max 30MBs using fastlane which is much better than other repeaters I've used. Also the 2.4Ghz will generally get about 15-20% better range but the 5Ghz works much better in wifi dense areas.

Would definitely consider refurbished again. It was not in original packaging but otherwise could not tell it had been refurbished. No exterior scratches at all. Works perfectly so far.

Easy to install even for the technologically challenged like me. Works well! No complaints at all. And the price is good too.

This "wireless network card" may not have great range, but IF you are using a computer without a wireless card it IS the simplest plug and play solution.

It was a fine looking router, but would not hook up to the internet. I was going to return it, but it would have cost me more to return it than it did to buy it to begin with. So I went to staples and got me a new netgear router and t works just fine.

Didn't notice the power button on the back of the unit. I couldn't figure out how to turn it on at first, but once I figured it out, installation was easy. I like that it already has a password and name. It made installation even easier.

Being a regular customer of refurbished products, I bought this Netgear WNR2000 N300 Wireless Router through Dealville on Amazon at about half the price of a new product and I am certainly very pleased. The product arrived on time, the packaging was good and the product surface was without any blemish. The device itself looks pretty especially with its lights on. Being Netgear, the router was very easy to set up and it keeps up excellent wireless connection strength - always!

its very easy to hook up and ive used this brand for a long time. all you have to do is google how to hook it up

For 3 months I suffered with CONSTANT disconnections while using this adapter. I thought it was my router, but then I saw a cheapo, X-Brand adapter that was free after rebate. I figured I'd give it a try. Bingo! Not a single disconnection since then!Don't buy this piece of junk unless you like constant dropped connections.

this router is very nice it has good wifi range and astylish black look with the lights in front i like it and it was worth the money. If you get it you wont regret it.

Was a bit harder to install, but it's just what I needed for home use. Would recommend for the price and quality.

I have never done a review before but I had to for this - I just bought this product today and I have to say what a piece of junk it is. What should take only 20 minutes max to do I am now on my 3rd hour to install it and it won't let me - keeps saying that it's not plugged in correctly even though I have done what the instructions have told me (I have rebooted, unplugged everything and it still won't work). The website the company gives - [...] doesn't even work. The instructions are bare minimal when it should have more details. I am not a computer expert by any means but I do know how to install programs and this just will not let me install it. I will never buy anything from this company again and it will be going back to the store where I bought it from and I will be informing them what a piece of junk it is. This is a zero star rating in my book - please don't waste your money on this piece of junk.

I am very happy with this modem and it works great, however, beware, it comes without an installation disk or a manual installation instruction. They refer you to an online instruction that does not tell you how to program a security code to your network. When you call customer service, they want to charge you extra in order to walk youn through that information. I finally figured it out only own.
