Probably the best part of Kinect is watching people play it. To be honest, my kids seem to have more fun playing XBox games with the normal hand controllers. Very disappointing given that we bought several of the $50 games.If I had it to do over, I probably would just buy a bunch of used games for my old Nintendo 64, as my kids seem to like it just as much, if not better than the Xbox.Save your money!Update: More disappointed the more I learn.1. You can load your $50 games on the hard drive in an attempt to keep small children from destroying them, but the disks still have to be loaded to play the games...not sure why a 250G hard drive is needed?2. I can play my music and movies from an external USB hard drive, but can not load them on the internal drive. Again, I'm not sure why a 250G hard drive is needed?3. I can't play 1080P movies from my USB hard drive even though they are in supported formats. My little WD media player ($100) blows the XBOX away in this area.4. Not too crazy about paying for Live to get access to Netflix etc...Will someone tell me what the 250G hard drive is good for...please??????????

What a HUGE frustration!!! I purchased this New XBox 360 with Kinect hopeful that Microsoft had fixed the problems. I was WRONG! The box stated, "Do Not Sell Prior to November 4, 2010" I purchased mine, on November 7th. By December 18th, EVERY DISC I entered did not spin! What a $400 rip off! So I called Microsoft Support talking to someone probably located in a different country, that could not help me get my console replaced by Christmas. So it is 2 days before Christmas, and I have NO gaming system. How sad right? I should have purchased the PS3 and Wii instead. I prevously owned a PS3 for 4 years, and it never broke down on me. I guess I should have kept it and just added the Wii....so much for wanting something new that just turns out to be a $400 paper wieght!After everything, I had to send my console in for repair. So I could get new or refirbished parts...I want a brand new system, but that probably will not happen, although I did request a replacement. I would return it to the place I purchased it from for a full refund, but their return policy has expired...so I'm in no luck this Christmas Season.I would not recommend XBox 360 to anyone.

Go ahead and buy a hard drive that isn't made by Microsoft. Oh, sorry, Micro$oft. You lose the ability for backward compatibility and will probably end up reformatting your HD and losing everything every four days. Video gaming is an investment. If you don't like it... Find somewhere other than Amazon to cry about it. Hard drive is excellent by the way. Comes loaded with HEXIC and a couple demos. Does what it is supposed to do and WORTH EVERY PENNY.

My husband and my little brother are true and through gamers :) so after only having the xbox for a few weeks they needed more memory. Amazon as always has the best prices, the product arrived on time in perfect condition and packaging.

This Hard Drive is amazing. The speed it takes to download is so fast I get to play demos and downloadable content 2 minutes after i set something to download. Much faster then the 4GB that came with my XBOX 360. I recommend this to all gamers that only have the 4GB XBOX.

It's all good with this Hard Drive for the XBOX 360, installation takes 2 minutes and I have absolutely no problems saving and playing my saved games. Just the same as if you bought the XBOX with the hard drive already in it.

I can't speak for the chinese knock off version, but this hard drive is original equipment and works perfectly. It took about 30 seconds to install once I found the hidden release button on top grill section of my xbox console. Delivery was quick, sooner than expected, and packaging was great.

This will be my 4th XBox 360 thus far...I mainly purchased the combo to get Kinect and have a backup XBox in-case my other one decides to RROD. I'm just going to do a quick pros/cons list (compared to old XBox 360 Elites) that I found, since I'd rather not sit here all day typing a lengthy review...Pros----- Less fan noise- Seems a "little" quicker than the older Elites (although, I can't benchmark the two very easily)- Kinect is pretty decent at recognizing faces, movements, and great for parties- The 250GB of space is definitely an improvement over the older 120GB models- The new design looks really nice and sleek compared to the old, plain-black/white models- The built-in Wifi actually works VERY well...I've yet to have a dropped game due to this, and I've played over 80 hours of Black Ops at this pointCons----- Re-seating the new hard drive cage can be a PITA- You need a LOT of room to enjoy Kinect at its fullest- Kinect will have issues if you have a darker room or a light behind you that's blinding it- This package does NOT come with an HDMI cable!!!- They still use a tray loader

At first she could not get it to work on the internet. Then after taking it to a friends house she got it to work. She states it was the internet at the dorm that cause it not to work. She is so glad that she can play games with her friends.

I purchased this for my Xbox Slim. Everything worked fine at first but just about 2 months later I got the E68 error. I spoke with Microsoft who told me the item I received was clearly a defective unit. Now I have to deal with the hassle of sending this back, and losing ALL of my save game files that were on the hard drive. I would avoid purchasing this from a 3P.

As far as I can tell, this is the OEM Microsoft drive. It was much cheaper than at my local store and worked perfectly. I am very happy with my purchase.

A great item of course, it gives me greater storage. This item worked when I got it, with no issues at all so far. Obviously you should know if this item is for you or not. Should you download a lot of movies/music/games to your Xbox it's a must, if you don't it could wind up being a waste. Just use your best judgement.

I bought this new console about a month and a half ago, since my second original console got a red ring of death and was out of warranty. I now have to send in this brand new console for repairs, because it can no longer read game disks. Microsoft should be embarassed on how poorly their products are made. I have always been a Microsoft/Xbox supporter, but not any more. I've wasted enough money. Even though Sony can't keep my personal information safe, at least the system works. Guess I shouldn't have sold my Wii - it's a terrible system with no good games, but at least it works.

I bought the XBOX 360 Kinect few weeks ago at amazon.com.... My kids love it... Both the kids and I feel it's better than Wii and/or PS... I am very pleased with the product and amazon.com buying experience.

Im not the type to usually go out of my way to write reviews, but I had to take the time for this new Kinect system. Let me first start off by saying, BUY IT RIGHT NOW!! If your on the fence about this product, DONT BE!!! This x-box system is ground-breaking, I am absolutely amazed at how intuitive and fun it is to play. Im not a big gamer, in fact im 37 years old and thought I had left my gaming days behind me, till I bought the Kinect system. I told myself what the heck i`ll give it a try, if I didn`t like it, I would just return it. But no way Jose!! No returns here!!! You will have to pry my x-box from my cold dead hands to get it back now! I had no idea I was going to enjoy it as much as I have, and i`ve had it since the day it came out on November 4th. I just 2 days ago purchased a 12 month subscription to x-box live, it comes with one free month, but i`ve been having so much fun with it I decided to get another years worth. With all that being said, (to anyone thinkin about buying, but arent sure.) Think no more! Trust me you wont regret it, this system is the best technology available in gaming, and will be for some time to come!!!

Don't spend more buying the 250GB Slim. Just buy a 4GB and buy one of these snazzy things to pop in for the extra memory. Just make sure not to buy one that makes your total cost more than the 250GB package. Simple 'nuff.

I bought one of the Xbox Slim with the 4GB hard drives in it. (that wasn't real smart on my account, I was just starting out playing with one of these Gamers.)Anyway the 4GB was filling up real quick, So I ordered one of theses, so I've got alot of room on my Xbox now. I highly Recommend this Item to anybody with the 4GB hard drives in their Xbox, You really like it.

I have owned numerous xbox 360's since they came out. I Started with the original 20 gig, and after having some issues with some accessories with it (the intercooler i bought literally melted into the back of my 360) so i upgraded to the Elite. I loved the console, and never once had an issue with it. but there were always some negative things about it, including the noise, the size of the power brick, and how hot the games would get at times while playing. I only bought this at midnight but I can say its great so far, and you save 50 bucks by getting this bundle.What i love so far:- love the new look. my elite was black, but the console was bulky. the new one has a sleek design and is more compact.- The touch sensitive buttons are cool, you don't even have to press.- The power brick is much smaller, and leaves way more room.- The xbox is much more quiet- 3 USB hookups is great- 250 gig hard drive is all i will ever need.- The kinect is just amazing. works extremely well, recognized my every movement and voice command. the is definitely next gen gaming. Its just awesome. already used video chat, and the camera actually follows you around, whether you go up or down or anywhere. i cannot wait to use it more
