I am primarily a Linux user and have wanted a cordless headset option for many months how. My housemates and I all sleep on different schedules, so listening via standard speakers is out because we don't want to wake each other up.When I plugged in the Logitech dongle in the first time, the headset worked immediately: sound came from my music program to my ears without doing any more than choosing the H800 as the output device. There were no bloatware drivers to mess with, no complicated setup process, and certainly no poking sharp sticks at config files deep in the system. Binding it via the Bluetooth option took just a few seconds. Same for my phone, which has made it easy to go around the house listening to music without disturbing anyone. This headset is simple and functions smoothly. It's also really easy to change tracks on both my computer and phone's music players because there are controls for Play/Pause, mute and Skip Track (FFWD/RW) on the headset and the controls layout is decently intuitive.Volume options on this headset are pretty decent: it goes from near-silent up to insanely earbleedingly loud, so people who prefer a range of volumes could be quite happy with this device. I generally prefer a little quieter, and the H800 has pretty good leveling at the lower levels (some devices are horrible about playback at lower volumes).Beyond the initial test of the mic, I haven't used that feature. My phone did recognize it, however, and I intend to test it as a handsfree set sometime. The headset is decently comfortable, too. Every surface that touches the body is softened and padded by foam. It's not heavy, either, though clearly bulky when compared to some of the far more expensive (and less highly rated) cordless headsets with mics. It holds on my head without feeling like it's going to fall off or giving me a headache from too much pressure. One improvement I'd make is to have the headset be a little less "I NEED THE JUICE!" when the batter runs low. It just starts beeping without any warning. It's jarring, but maybe it really is the last 3% of charge or something. I don't know. On the other hand, though, it charges quickly when plugged into the micro-USB cable even when you're still using it.The headset has good functions, is easy to setup, and has decent battery life for my needs. In my opinion, the H800 headset is priced appropriately for the variety of features it comes with, and for the great freedom of being untethered.

Wow I am so glad I ordered these. They have been a breeze to use and I felt like I got a good value with this purchase. The first few times I used them for meetings I kept forgetting I could up and walk around, now I don't know how I'd live without them.2 functionsI've used the USB function for these on a Mac running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and Windows 7 laptop, and used the Bluetooth function on an Sprint Samsung Galaxy S II. (iPad 2 and iPhone phttbbb :(, iOS 5 for me hasn't EVER recognized ANY bluetooth device, so that's not this product's fault. My bf's Android phone can see my iPad2 and iPhone, but they don't see his.)SetupIt really was a plug and play situation for both computers, that's how fast setup was. I've used the headset for Skype and GoToMeeting on the computer and haven't had any complaints from anyone about how I sound (matter of fact they said I sound better, and before I was using the earbuds/micset that came with my iPhone). For bluetooth, you just tell your phone to search for Bluetooth devices and then turn the headset switch to Bluetooth. The Galaxy was able to see the headset very quickly and pairing was a cinch. Just remember if you are in an airport or somewhere around a lot of people (ie a lot of bluetooth enabled phones/devices), there will be a lot of devices popping up in the Bluetooth list on your phone in addition to the headset.RangeI can walk outside or in the garage without dropping, but you can expect a little bit of static here and there in those situations (but never enough to cloud the audio). I'd test your range before an actual meeting! My usage experienceThe way I use it is, plug in the USB first and give it a few seconds, then turn the headset to the USB setting and immediately put the headset on so that I can hear the confirmation beep that it connected. I like that it has an LED that turns red when charging is needed (and you get a warning beep if you're on a call and need to plug in, you can continue talking). Before I go to put them on for a meeting I turn them on to double check that the LED isn't red :). If you always remember to turn the headset off when you're not using it that saves the battery. If I use them for an hour or two per day I can get away with not needing to charge for a few days even!Just a heads up -- I usually just leave the USB plugged in all the time and just turn the headset on when I need it but if you use Skype and have recently unplugged/replugged the USB, sometimes you may need to go into your audio preferences and make sure the Logitech is selected as your input/output.What's awesome is that if I've just gotten off a USB call and my bf's phone is ringing, he can just pick up the headset and turn the switch from USB to Bluetooth and voila!I have not used them for music but the added value here with these is freedom to walk away from your desk, not necessarily the best frequency range for listening to music. That combo was way out of my price range---but if you're looking for that check the gamer's headsets.

I was looking for a wireless 2.4ghz and bluetooth headset for use with my PS3 and PC. If I was looking for a headset without bluetooth and for PC only, I would probably have gotten the Logitech G930. I purchased the headset for $80 and it is still a little pricey but seeing that circuity city just lowered the price to $75 shipped, I think this headset will deserve 5 stars soon (when it drops another 5-10 bucks) from a price to value perspective. Also, I couldn't get myself to buy a set of these used. Something that has been on someone else's head, collecting oils, spitting into the mic, and rubbing dead skin is just not good hygiene. So that is why I say wait for the price of a new set to go down (rather than used). The bluetooth paired with no problems with my PS3 and PC. The wireless 2.4ghz dongle worked with no problems with my PC. Just remember if you connect the headset to PS3, you need to disconnect from PS3 before connecting to PC and vice versa. The battery life lasted 5-6 hours on bluetooth and 4-5 hours on wireless 2.4ghz. The range on bluetooth and wireless went pretty far without loss of audio data stream (worked from backyard and basement when my PC is on second floor). The charging time was fast, less than 3 hours. Also from reading the instructions, it appears you can replace the battery as long as you can find a replacement battery (I don't see anywhere that sells it now since this headset is still relatively new but expect ebay to start selling replacement batteries in the near future). The boom mic flexes very nicely because of special material they used and the noise cancelling on the boom mic works wonders. People on the other side cannot hear fire engines, car alarms, tv sounds, and background music (that is what I tested so far). I don't care much about the headphones being foldable but the headset is very light and carryable. Finally, the music quality and chat is clear and sounds good but it does seldom crackle for very brief periods (probably due to some kind of wireless interference).Important Items:1) My ears were sore after 2.5hours but my ears are sensitive. I have jabra netcoms with supersoft leatherette ear pads and my ears get sore after 3.4-4 hours. The earpad and head cushions are nothing special here and very standard. I also don't like foam pads because it makes it harder to clean if little bits of ear cerumen gets lodged into the pads.2) Some people say the headset falls off their heads easily. At first I positioned it in such a way that I thought was normal and it kept falling off my head. Then I found the perfect position and it is nice and snug now. I think positioning is key here. The headset is adjustable.3) I couldn't download the program that gives you track control over itunes and other media players. Logitech support site needs to fix this aspect though the instructions/faq on the site is quite easy to understand and a good resource.4) The side controls on the headset are a bit flimsy. The cheap clicking noise it makes could use some softening up.5) Sometimes when you connect the music sounds distorted. Simply disconnect and connect and try again. Similar to an echo in a cellphone call, you just got to disconnect and try again. For those who are happy with a multipurpose headset that does its job, then these will do nicely. For those who are looking for something in particular, I recommend finding another headset. There is nothing special about these headsets and you get what you see and as described by Logitech.

If your intention is to use this via Bluetooth on a Mac (10.8) with Skype (6.2.0), DO NOT BUY. The call quality drops to mono (Skype changes from the stereo setting to mono) and as such, the quality is so horrible it's unusable. I even called Logitech support and they confirmed that Skype does this on a Mac. There's no workaround if you want to use Bluetooth. The solution, however, is to use the nano receiver (USB dongle) that comes with the headset. The quality is fine for listening to music and for Skype, however the range isn't as good. With Bluetooth I can walk just about anywhere in my two-story home. With the nano receiver, I'm lucky I can get to the next room without the audio breaking up.As a result, I'm giving this product 4/5 stars because I can't tell if it's Skype's fault, or Logitech's. I find it hard to believe that in this day and age of Bluetooth wireless that Skype is at fault. As for the headset itself, I'm very impressed. It's lighter than I thought it would be which is great for long term use. I also have a very large head, and I am constantly struggling to find headphones that don't pinch the hell out of my skull. These do not. They are also adjustable and leave plenty of room on the top of my head as well. They are on-ear as opposed to over-the-ear so that could get uncomfortable after a while but it doesn't seem to be the case for me yet.The buttons on the side seem easy enough to use. I also synced this via Bluetooth to my iPhone 5 and had no issues. So, the way I'm using this headset right now is to switch it to the nano for Skype calls, and then to switch it to the Bluetooth mode for using my iPhone. Seems to be working great so far. I will add that the quality of the Bluetooth connection is better than the nano connection, but for voice calls on Skype, the nano connection is perfectly fine and the person on the other end had no idea I switched from my wired Plantronics headset to my wireless Logitech one.

I recently switched from using a VOIP phone to using Google Voice through a MAC. Yes it was a pretty big switch going from a Dell PC to a MAC, but the bigger switch for me was going from VOIP to Google Voice. I was using a Plantronics CO52, which was by far the best headset I have ever used/owned in seven years of using a headset. Giving up the Plantronics headset was hard, but after doing a lot of research I settled on the Logitech h800. A must for me is to have a double ear piece. I can't ever hear anyone using one ear piece and am very bothered by background noise in my other ear. I would usually have to plug my other ear when I used a one ear headset. The Logitech at first seemed bulky and uncomfortable compared to the Plantronics, but I got used to it real fast and actual like the feel now. It is comfortable and you can't even really feel it on your ears. As for the quality I was dumbfounded on how bad it originally was. I couldn't figure out if it was the headset or Google Voice. After randomly running a speed test on my Mac i noticed that my download speed was three times less what it was on my PC. Apparently this is a known issue with Macs and the only thing you have to do is change the DNS settings. After I did that the speed instantly went up and in turn made my PC calling crystal clear. I have 20 Mbps down with AT&T Uverse and I was only getting 6 Mbps down before switching the DNS settings. After that I was getting between 18-18 1/2 down. I don't know what the cutoff is, but I definitely recommend 15 mbps down or higher. My only gripe is the range. I used to be able to walk out to the mailbox with my Plantronics, with this headset I start losing signal when I walk to my refrigerator. Working from home I do a lot of walking around while on the phone, but I feel confined to a small area with this headset.Pros:The headset is awkward at first, but then it becomes very comfortableCrystal clear calling (when bandwidth is adjusted) and crystal clear sound from applicationsEasy to charge and the buttons are very adaptableMouthpiece is small and does not get in the wayBluetooth option makes it easy to useConThe range is limited

This is the first wireless headset that I've used, and no way would ever go back to using a wired headset.I do all my business calls via Skype and have used some of the Logitech conventional "wired" headsets. In my setup with laptop, double monitors, standing desk, etc, I have wires all over the place. It's all fine for the most part as long as the wires remain stationary. But a common annoyance had been answering a call, putting on my headset and finding that it's wires are entangled. The Logitech h800 solves all that, with the added benefit I have far more freedom of movement when I'm on the phone. Here are the POSITIVES, which echo that of other users:***Crystal clear sound.***Long range. I can walk from my home office to the kitchen about 30 ft away and the connection stays alive.***USB recharges while headset is in use. Because the headset recharges from my laptop, the the wire is not intrusive. This means that when I'm on a long call requiring me to stay in front of my computer, I can recharging at the same time.NEGATIVES:***No visible mute indicator. I deducted a star because, while there is a physical mute button, there is no indicator telling you whether you're muted not. As many headset users will attest, part of the greatness of using a headset is being able to mute. The problem here it's easy to lose track of whether you're muted. The work-around is either to use Skype's mute functionality or just expend extra effort to remember than you're muted.OVERALL:The advantages of using a high-end headset like this one, far outweigh the inconvenience of lack of a mute indicator. Yes, there are lower cost Logitech headsets, that have an indicator, but based on the negative reviews I felt there were deficiencies in other more critical areas such as pairing consistency, reception and clarity. On balance, the h800 is the best choice in this category in my opinion.

I bought this headset so that I could watch video on my laptop in the family room without having to be tied down in one spot. I find watching video with a wired headset very confining.I have tried a number of wireless headsets and none of them are perfect. This one, however, is turning out to be my favorite so far. I haven't really used the microphone yet so I cannot review that feature, although it does come with a mic and my laptop knows it's there.Pros:Easy to install: it just requires a USB port. On first use, the drivers install themselves automatically and within a minute or two it's ready to go.Good sound: This headset had pretty good sound, although it is not suitable for listening to music, especially not if you are an audiophile. My (wired) Bose headset blows the socks off of this one for music. (For video I personally don't care as much.)Easy to recharge: It uses a (second) USB port when recharging, and if you want to you can still use the headset while it's charging. (You're not particularly wireless at this point however.) Theoretically, one could even recharge from the wall with the proper wall-to-USB adapter (I have several from other gadgets) but I haven't tried this yet, as I find it easier to find an available USB port than an available electrical outlet.Cons:There is no automatic shutoff when you are not using it, and because the controls are kind of whacky you will find yourself leaving it turned on accidentally. Luckily, you can use it while it's recharging (see above) but it's still a big disappointment to sit down to watch something awesome, only to find your headset has been on all day and is now out of juice. The controls are kind of whacky. It has controls on the earpiece for volume, pausing, etc. Only pausing and restarting seems to work; the volume controls have no effect. Also, when you turn it on, there is a significant lag before it starts to work. Or maybe you flicked the wrong switch and it's not turned on. It's hard to tell, since the indicator lights that tell you it's turned on are not visible while you are wearing it. Turning it on can be frustrating sometimes. For some reason, I've notice some applications need to close and restart after switching to the headset; otherwise, they continue to play from the laptop's speakers no matter how many times you flick the whacky buttons (see above). The construction is the typical cheap plastic that one often finds on lower priced items. I would have hoped that for $80 I'd get something more substantial, but no. (My Bose headsets are way more substantial, but alas! they have those damn wires!)I once had a Plantronics .Audio 995 Wireless Stereo Headset, which was even more cheaply made but slightly easier to use. It was not, however, usable while recharging so I like this one better. After I lost the USB transmitter for the Plantronics, I then bought another device which lasted 6 months before it could no longer hold a charge. I cannot remember who made that one but it was an unwieldy contraption that combined a recharging station with the transmitter and which required a constant power source to use it, in addition to the USB port. This Logitech device does not have those limitations and would gain more stars if it were more solidly constructed and if it had better sound and perhaps some lovely noise cancellation features. As it is, I give it three stars which is not bad for $80.

I purchased this headset after quite a bit of research. As we have a habit in this house of breaking headsets, I wasn't looking to spend a lot--yet was still hoping to find quality. I am happy to say this headset delivered. There are several reviews about head size that had me concerned, however in trying this on 2 adult females this headset was not tight at all--in fact it can almost seem a little loose if the band slips from the top of your head. The band itself is padded, and the entire unit is light weight and very comfortable to wear. To address the ear padding specifically--it also gave us no issues, even after extended wear. I have very sensitive skin, and had zero reaction to any of the padding materials on the headset, again--even after extended wear. For range, it seems to work well as long as you are within about 30 ft of the computer OR in an open space. Since we live in an apartment, this is no issue for us at all. It did, however, break up when I tried to go into a back room within range and shut the door. There are 2 drawbacks for me in this headset. One is the dongle which is, as warned in previous reviews, incredibly small. The chances the dongle will be lost in my house at some point are very high. If you have a habit of misplacing small items, you may want to think twice about this particular unit. The second drawback is the area the dongle is supposed to be stored when not in use, which is inside the left earpiece. I've found the way it opens to access this area is very flimsy and hard to get into--after only a few tries I decided to take my chances with a loose dongle, rather than break the entire headset trying to keep it safe. All in all, I am incredibly happy with this purchase. The actual use of the headset has been far more than expected, the price is right, and in the event the dongle is lost (it's only a matter of time around here), I will most likely repurchase this or a similar model.

Ideally, I would like to use a wireless headset with Skype throughout the entire house. But this expectation is not possible with the H800. The practical range is limited to about 10-15 feet. I wish that a WiFi wireless headset for PCs and tablets would be available for consumers at a reasonable price. Unless I am mistaken, I do not think it is. Perhaps Logitech might innovate in this respect. Yet, the H800 is a good buy if you understand some of the limitations.1. Again, the range is limited. Yes, you can probably use it from a distance of 40 feet but in the OPEN air. With walls, doors, and plumbing, I am getting about 15 feet with USB and about 20 feet with Bluetooth. In fact, the bathroom with its plumbing literally cuts off the signal. What I did, though, is that I bought a Tripp Lite 33-foot active USB extender cable and placed it between two rooms to extend the range of the Logitech Wireless Headset H800. It actually works nicely. I can pace in three rooms!2. The audio quality is good enough to listen to music. I am not an audiophile, though. The microphone is better than the microphone on my Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000.3. The headset is light and comfortable for hours. But my wife told me that the headset is bit pinchy for her.4. I am not sure that the battery really lasts six hours. I would say 3-4 hours, which is not bad. But I would like to have a slightly better battery duration.5. The pairing with USB or Bluetooth is a bit of pain. I would really urge Logitech to circle in red the + on the headset cup in the instructions. Initially, I was not quite clear that I had to press the + button on the cup AND slide up the fast-foward button. Maybe it is just me.Overall, the H800 is a good product and fills a need (I use it to Skype and to listen to music), but it can be upgraded. I hope that the next version will be even better.

I've been looking for a headset (wired or wireless) to work well with my Cisco IP Phone application on my laptop while working remote through VPN. Every headset I tried before the h800 either made me sound like I was in a tunnel to the others on the phone or the other people were not clear to me. Even with a couple of wired headsets, there was almost always an echo during conversations. A friend recommended the h800 so I decided to give them a shot... and even with the shortcomings I'm glad that I did! As you can see from the 3/5 star rating, don't think that they are perfect, but I like them enough to find a way to live with them.Pros - crystal clear sound on calls (VOIP, Skype, Cisco IP Phone, etc). People on the other end cannot even tell that I'm on an IP phone. The mute button is on the right ear which beeps once when turned onto mute and twice when turned off. I also like that it is easy to switch between the dongle mode and the bluetooth mode. I use this feature daily because my laptop does not have bluetooth (so I use the dongle) and my iPod has bluetooth. I also like that the mic folds nicely into the ear out of the way when not needed. And about the iPod, the sound is great for music, internet radio, playing games, etc. but one of my favorite features is the ability to control music playback without ever touching the iPod. The right ear of the headset has playback controls (start/stop/next song/previous song) and volume controls. I've been able to squeeze a lot of extra battery life from the iPod because I don't ever have to turn the screen on to play and activate music. The battery life is pretty good too... lasting around 6 hours of constant music. It works while plugged in and charges very fast to full capacity.Cons - not very comfortable headset and do not stay on firmly. It feels light on the head and has some adjustability but I feel like I have to give my head a break from wearing them after an hour. The problem seems to be that the ear pads are poorly designed. All of the pressure from the ear pads seems to be concentrated right in the middle of your ears and that is where the padding is very thin and not very soft. The headset slips around my head easily even though it feels like the ear pads are pressed tightly to my ears. Whenever I look down, I have to hold the headset from falling off and put it back into position. The ear padding is removable so I'm going to see if I can rig them with new ear pads. The sound is so good with these that I'm willing to find a way to make them more comfortable. I'll check back here to see if anyone else has a similar experience and has found a way to make them fit better.

Ужасно

I bought these headphones to replace the Logitech ClearChat headset, which I'd had for almost five years. (That one had the right side of the headset go out within six months and often garbled all sound into digital noise. In fact, three people in my gaming group had the headset and had the same two problems.) After extensive shopping and review-reading, I chose these, daring to hope that they would work, despite a handful of reviews that said they wouldn't. I trust Logitech as a brand, generally, and the price is so much more reasonable than the other wireless headsets that seem decent (e.g., SoundBlaster).I opened the box, plugged them in (they were not exactly plug-and-play, but it wasn't too much trouble), and the problems began immediately. Here's the verdict:Pros:1. comfortable2. not too bulky (although they're still pretty big)3. not too pricey4. fold up nicelyCons:1. During the sound test, the headphones emitted a loud crackling sound.2. When I played videos, there was low-level static the entire time.3. And while playing a game, both these things happened, as well as the sound just plain cutting out for a second or two at a time.4. Also, it may bother some people that anyone sitting a couple feet away from you can hear everything that the headphones are playing, even at low- to medium-level volume. Since the earpieces aren't cupped, the sound escapes easily.I called Logitech support and the guy literally said, "Oh no. That's not good."I won't risk exchanging these and won't buy any more Logitech headsets. Might even have been dissuaded from buying any more Logitech products at all. And because it apparently takes close to two hundred dollars to buy a decent pair of wireless headphones with a mic, I'll just stick with my barely-working ClearChat for now.Why don't more companies make wireless headsets? And make them small and comfortable, not hulking, awkward (and awkward-looking) boxes. I know most people don't care what headsets look like, but I don't want to look like a helicopter pilot while I'm gaming. And I don't need amazing sound, I just need basic quality.

After reading some of the previous reviews, I was prepared to be disappointed in the H800 headset. I was very pleasantly surprised. This is the best Bluetooth headset that I have found so far. It is not perfect, thus I can give it only four stars but if you are looking for a comfortable wireless headset that provides decent sound, the H800 should be on your short list.Sound quality was my most important criteria when selecting this model. After using the horrible-sounding Motorola H-9 for a while, I was sure that all wireless headsets would provide the same experience. This is definitely not the case with the H800. While the sound quality is certainly not on par with high-end audiophile headsets,it is very good and totally acceptable for my planned usage, listening to music or movies while traveling. This headset is very comfortable to wear. It is light weight, some might say flimsy. The large ear pads set lightly on the ears in a comfortable manner. I can wear this headset for hours without any discomfort. On the other hand, the large size causes this device take up a lot of storage space, even when folded up.One unique feature is the dual input option using Bluetooth and a proprietary RF signal. I tested this device playing music via Bluetooth from my iPhone and Android Tablet. Both performed very well. I also tried using a Chinese import Bluetooth dongle connected to my PC and laptop. The sound transmitted from this dongle was awful. The music skipped and was garbled. I attribute this to the dongle, not the headset. If you want to transmit to this headset from a device that does not offer Bluetooth, you can use the included RF USB dongle. This also worked very well when attached to my PC and laptop. I think that the sound was a little better using Bluetooth but not by much.Although this feature is not one that was a primary interest when I purchased the H800, it has a built-in microphone that transmits very clear sound. It is much clearer than any of the hands-free headsets I have used previously. I can see this coming in very handy when trying to make a call from a cell phone in a noisy environment.Several other reviewers have mentioned a scratchy sound coming from the right speaker. I was able to duplicate that sound but only when doing a sound check from the Skype application. I experienced no sound distortion when listening to music or movies. Also, other reviewers have mentioned that the roaming range for them was much less than the promised 40 feet. In my case, I was able to go at least that far without a problem using both Bluetooth and RF.Given that there has been such a wide range of experiences with this product, one could conclude that there may be a quality control issue that results in some units working better than others. Mine appears to be a good one. I highly recommend this device.

I've been looking for a wireless headset with a mic that would be comfortable for me. I've got 2 things that cause me trouble with wearing headphones: I wear glasses, and I have a small head (my glasses have to be bent as far down as possible to fit behind my ears ... I almost fit into kid's glasses, and I'm 33). I have noise cancelling headphones I wear when I got to NASCAR and NHRA races, but they're really uncomfortable after about an hour, so I knew I didn't want any earcup style headsets. I found this set on sale at a local store, and decided to give them a try. I'm really glad that I did, because they're actually really comfortable. They're a lot lighter than I thought they'd be, and I can wear them for about 4 hours before I have to give my head a rest. True, they don't have the best sound, but I didn't buy them expecting Bose quality sound. I just watched a few movies (Despicable Me and Independence Day), and the surround sound worked well, and the audio range sounded fine, even during the explosions, when I figured they would be most likely to get screwy. The only downside is that you can't use them with any other unifying receiver products (I have a wireless keyboard and mouse that use the Logitech micro USB receiver), and the receiver for the headset needs to be away from other receivers. I had to get an extender to plug my keyboard/mouse receiver in from the back of my computer and set it on my desktop, while the headset receiver is plugged into the front of the computer. But it's a minor annoyance, and certainly one that is easily fixed. The extender I got came with one of the Logitech products I've purchased, it may have even been the headset. For the money (currently they're around $65-70 most places), they're a great investment. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a good headset that won't break the bank.

I have been looking for replacement earphones for my PC since the ones I have are heavy and pretty beaten up from use and are wired to the PC.So I thought I would test these earphones out.The good:1) very light on my head2) easy to raise and lower volume, as well as to pause what I am watching and listening to. Of course if I am just listening, there is no need to pause.3) Bluetooth technology so I can use these earphones with my PC, my MP3 player and my cellphone.4) Easy to mate to my cellphone and my MP3 player.5) Much louder sound potential than from my wired headset. With my wired set, sometimes I can barely hear what is being said when I plat boos, movies and songs even at full volume.Negative items:1) the lightness of the headset makes for a very loose fit to my head. If I move my head forward too quickly, the earphones will flip off of my head. It is a trade off of lightness versus tightness.2) Battery charge time of use. It says 6 hours and perhaps if what you are listening to isn't to "wordy" it may make 6 hours on one charge but I've never seen it do that long. 4-5 hours is more likely. Also, when the batteries run down after 3 or more hours, the range also drops dramatically. On a fresh charge i can go to another room, close the door and the sound is just as strong as sitting in front of my PC. After 3 hours, I can't even go across the room. I have a microwave to heat tea in the kitchen area of my family room. It is about 16 feet from my PC. When I stand in that area I can't hear anything after 3 hours while I can be in another room, 30 foot from the PC with the door closed and hear just fine when it is fully charged.3) mating the earphones to my PC is a pain. While mating to my cellphone and MP3 player is simple, connecting to my PC requires me to go into the Bluetooth Control. I have to select the Headset device, go into properties, select services, uncheck "Audio Sink" box, apply the change, then check the "Audio Sink" box again and apply the change. This reloads the drivers needed for the Headset to operate.I have to do this each time I want to use the Headset, whether I used it on another device or not.It is an irritation but not a fatal flaw in the product.4) The "Universal" USB Controller isn't quite "Universal". I already had one provided with my M370 Trackball unit but it did NOT work with the H800 Headset. I had to use the one provided with the H800 and then both my Trackball and Headset worked. So even though the two controllers look the same, something in the one supplied with the H800 is different from the one supplied with the M370. This is too bad, since I have two of the ones supplied with the M370 since I had to have my M370 replaced when it began malfunctioning while it was still under waranttee. So now I have two useless USB controllers. If Logitech can fix the battery durability issue and allow the headset to be mated only once then I would give it a 5 star rating. It does say that the headset can't be mated to more than one device at a time but doesn't mention the need to repetitively reload the drivers even when it has only been mated to the PC alone. To me that is an issue that needs to be fixed.

I bought the headset primarily for conference calls. I spend between3 and 8 hours a day on the phone. I like to move around the office between computers and drawing tables while I'm on the call. Hence the need for a wireless headset. What drives me crazy about most conference calls is how hard it is to hear everyone and understand what they're saying, particularly when they are using mobile phones. While I can't do anything about the audio sources, I hoped to improve my listening experience. I've used a variety of headsets in the past including ear buds, single ear bluetooth devices, etc. I do my calls via a softphone on the computer so that's where I need to make my connection. The headphones are really easy to install and work with, either by bluetooth or the wireless USB nano receiver. I did need to read the instructions in order to set up bluetooth pairing with multiple devices.Volume and muting controls on the right earpiece are easy to locate and use--much more so, and more intuitive than on the much smaller bluetooth ear pieces.Haven't run into battery problems yet, but I plug it in after each use. Some of my calls extend beyond 2 hours. The side benefit is that the sound for casual listening to music is surprisingly very good. I like the way the microphone boom tucks under the ear piece when you don't need it.The headphones are very comfortable. Several hours is not a problem.Max distance for me from the computer is about 40' but there are also 2 cinder block walls in between.

Disclaimer: I've only had this headset for about 3hrs so far and will come back and update this review in a few days. This headset was just delivered today (2 days faster than Amazon said it would be, tip of the hat to you Amazon shipping) while I was in the middle of using my old, almost completely broken set on a work call. At the end of the call I cracked open the box put the headset on and plugged in the USB to see what would happen. No, I did not read the directions first as I wanted to see how user friendly or not it was. I opened up Spotify, hit play and instantly it was music to my ears! Crystal clear, excellent quality.I was nervous as to how the wireless would sound as well as how complicated the the set up might be based on some other less than stellar reviews. It was all for naught however. My next test, and only other one I've had time for so far, was to use it as a headset for my work phone through my computer. This was my main reason for picking these up as I spend the majority of my day on my phone interacting with clients and giving presentations. It worked seamlessly! I was heard clearly and I had no problems understanding the person on the other end. I tested it out by walking upstairs and to the other end of the house before I experienced any crackling. This is plenty far enough for me in regard to distance, so I couldn't be happier. The only CON so far is completely understandable because I took it out of the box and fired it up without giving it a full charge. About 3 hours into the maiden voyage, the battery light came on so I now have it charging next to me on my desk.Overall, a great purchase so far especially considering the price!!UPDATE:I've used the Bluetooth now with my iPad and it is seamless and easy to use.I do wish the battery life was slightly longer than it is but for the price I don't think you can go wrong.

Logitech H800 headset. Excellent sound, minor quirksInitial impression: The number one job of headphones is to sound good, and the h800 sound really really good, almost excellent in fact, despite somewhat modest 30-15kHz specifications. An initial charge with the supplied USB to micro USB cord (but no charger) required a computer as there is no supplied AC charger. This is not that big of a deal, as now I also have two other chargers, and Iphone and an HP that will accept the supplied cord, and also more and more devices use the micro USB (very skinny and about ?" wide) style plug. Using Bluetooth, the headphones paired up instantly with my Touch (2nd gen) , but then I had trouble pairing with a Iphone 4. This was operator error, as only the initial device will pair up seamlessly. Additional devices require holding the volume up button , and the skip track slider at the same time until the power light flashes rapidly. This is not intuitive, and just as I was about to give the headphone bonus points for using a slide switch to turn on and set the Bluetooth mode, vs some combination of switches, I find this complication. This is still better than my Altec Backbeat headset where turning it on and off requires remembering the light flash pattern and a changing tone. I wish all devices would have a dedicated power and a dedicated pairing switch. Guess with very small devices you have to cram as many functions to as few as possible hardware switches.Ergonomics: The computer dongle fits nicely into a panel behind one of the earpiece covers, which also hides a real replaceable battery. When the dongle was inserted into a Windows 7 computer, the machine configured itself instantly and all the sound was routed thru headphones immediately. The track skip button worked in Itunes, it also worked with the Iphone 4, but NOT with the Touch (running 3.1 OS).The advertised range of 30 ft is quite accurate, even with a wall or two in between the source and the headphones. Some of my other wireless headphones (Altec and Plantronics) come with an audio headphone plug adapter which allows you to use them with non Bluetooth devices such as a TV, a receiver, or say a Zune. The H800 do not have such a device. The microphone works well with the phone (slight echo in my testing) and computer software that can utilize it. The wand for the microphone is moldable as well to adjust it to your head.Sound: The sound is really full with tight and ample bass, and clear highs. The 15kHz high frequency rolloff corresponds very well with the 15kHz upper range cut experienced with the predominant 128 kbit/s MP3 sample frequency, so it is not really a limitation for common sources. If anything, I found the mid range somewhat low in amplitude, clear, but too quiet. Also I found myself turning up the volume (on right earpad) to the maximum, as indicated by a bleep sound, quite often. In summary the H800 sound really well, very competitive with wired devices, and have only minor midrange deficiencies. Sound is best described as solid. Comfortable to wear and moderately easy to set up.

I am just setting up for an online training, and thought, "I LOVE these headphones, I am so glad I got them!" Here is why: I work online - I teach full time, I take part in meetings and conferences relating to my work and my avocations; I am on line a LOT. I use all sorts of different operations systems and software or web based meeting and and classroom environments as well as recording audio for presentations. And these headphones are great for all of it.Pros: reasonably lightweight, works for both bluetooth and USB dongle (low profile, included) connections and can be reasonable quickly and easily switched back and forth between them. Can be used while connected to a USB charger cable. Decent sound, and the mike seems to work well. Reasonable signal strenght - the bluetooth is about like any bluetooth, about 35 feet; the wireless USB connection seems stronger and has a farther radius, although I have not tested it. I can walk thoughout my house while "working" with no loss of connection. The controls for volume, to mute the mike, etc, as well as on/off are easy to use while wearing them once you get used to where they are.Cons?: Well, they do get warm if you wear them for a long time (probably not an issue for most users). They don't fit all that snugly, so sometimes they fall forward or back if I move around too much while wearing them (if you have a bigger head you might be fine). Not significant drawbacks. Like I said, I LOVE these headphones!

It's great to find a headset that flips back and forth between wireless USB and Bluetooth. I spend several hours a day on the phone, 70% on a softphone on my laptop and 30% of the time on a cell phone.Sounds quality is really good. Not *awesome*, but considering the price, and it's wireless, it meets my expectation. Decent lows, decent highs, maybe a bit lacking in mid (it's probably tuned to sound fuller than it really is) -- but if you're looking for top quality, start looking at something 2x the price and go up from there. Good enough for music and games. It's comfortable enough to wear for conference calls that last 2 hours.Battery life is good enough to let me leave it on for a 8-10 hour day with 4+ hours of that on the phone. I'm sure it will last longer, but I haven't need it to so far. You can always plug in the USB changing cord and use it powered if you need.I can get 30 feet range for wireless (via a micro USB plug) before audio starts to get choppy. I haven't maxed the range on Bluetooth, as 10 feet is the farthest been from my phone--but at 10 feet it works fine.No detectable lag on wireless USB, good for gaming. Bluetooth is a slight lag, but no more so than I've seen on any other Bluetooth audio communications. Bluetooth lag is good enough for phone calls.Wireless USB plug and sound setup on Windows 7 was flawless. It recognized the device and installed the drivers without issues.I would not hesitate to recommend this, or buy another if needed.

I use Skype on my Windows PC to make most calls (Skype subscription costs about $8 per month, and you can call landline and cellphone (US and some others), both domestic and international for a total of 10,000 minutes/mo. (that's about 5.5 hours of talking per day) without additional charge), and I have always used a wired headset. Although a wired one is cheaper and delivers satisfactory sound, I am tied to my desk for the duration of a call. It then becomes unbearable when a call lasts more than half an hour long. Nonetheless I never proactively looked for a wireless headset to solve my problem. It was only when I saw this wireless headset on a Amazon Lightning Deal recently, did it occur to me that I should get one.The Logitech h800 is special in that it can be used via wireless USB nano receiver or Bluetooth. This means you can used either wireless mode on a PC or Mac (they must have Bluetooth capability) built-in or added via an USB port), and use Bluetooth on iPod Touch/iPad, smartphone, and tablets. The headset is of the on-ear type and is very light. There is a swing-out noise-canceling microphone on the right hand side of the headset. The right ear cup also has volume up/down, microphone on/off, and phone pickup/hangup switches, as well as next audio track and previous audio track control, and wireless mode (off/Bluetooth/nano receiver) switch.A micro USB port is also here to allow charging of its internal battery, which takes about three hours, and it lasts six hours. The left ear cup has no switches of any kind, just a covered compartment that you can store the tiny nano receiver when it is not used.As the ear cups are made of sponge, I am a little concerned about the eventual replacement of it and how much it would cost. When I use this headset with Skype, the incoming sound is crystal clear without any interference or noise. It is truly impressive. When battery charge begins to get weak, you will notice a decrease in sound quality; you should then connect the included USB cable to charge it. Your Skype conversation can continue without problem, only that now you are temporarily "wired/corded" again.

This is the only thing that I've had to return on Amazon and let me say that I am glad that I did. This is a horrible product. Set up was this an absolute disaster. I expected the set up to be simple considering this is a USB device but apparently this was not the case. There is limited information about how to set up and pair the headset via bluetooth. I tried using the headset through the USB port considering I have read about horror stories about trying to pair the headset to the computer. I only managed to successfully get sound out of the headset once only after rebooting my computer and then it was finicky. Apparently every time you want to use the headset you need to plug in the USB dongle and reboot the computer. It would not work otherwise. I originally thought the problem was that the headset was not fully charged in order to receive signal but after three hours of charging via USB it did not solve the problem. I tried getting help from Logitech and Logitech forums and this was an absolute mess. Apparently there are some problems regarding Windows 7 recognizing the "default audio device." Logitech only states "refer to the manufacture's guide regarding default device set up." If you need more information other than that, you're on your own. This was enough to send the headset back to Amazon. If Logitech does not support their own product what makes you think that they would put out a good product in the first place? No more Logitech products for me. Save yourself the time and do not buy this product.

I bought this product, through Amazon, from third-party merchant, Telso. It arrived without any original packaging, and without directions, in a clear plastic bag. I have no way of knowing if it was even new. It never worked. I couldn't pair it with either the Logitech USB wireless adapter or my iPhone by Bluetooth.Just a few days ago I bought the same model from Staples, for a higher price, but it came with original packaging. It had directions and other useful paperwork, and it paired with both its Logitech USB adapter and my iPhone immediately, without any of the repeated attempts I spent trying to get the defective headphones I got from Telso working.I was busy during the first 30 days after I got these headphones from Telso, so I didn't have time to return it, and thus was totally screwed by this Amazon buying experience.Amazon should police its third party merchants and require that, if they are going to sell products without original packaging Amazon should force them to say so. And Amazon should do something to insure that if it's customers buy from such merchants they are not getting returned products sold as new.

UPDATE 19-Dec-2012: I have found that I can increase the effective range by plugging the USB dongle into a short (0.5 meter) USB extension cable. Thus the dongle isn't surrounded by the other USB (metal) plugs from other devices. You can find such a cable here on Amazon for a few dollars.*****I almost bought a much more expensive Plantronics headset, as a dedicated solution for taking my work calls. (I use Lync, and sometimes Skype.) Those headsets and their competitors don't have a very high rating, typically. They're not stereo headsets, either. The one feature I wanted when looking at those sets was range. So, range was the first thing I tested when I got my Logitech set. I can go anywhere in my 2200 sq. ft. house and stay connected, when using the wireless USB. The Bluetooth range is less, but that wasn't a surprise and isn't important to me.The sound reproduction in wUSB mode is very good, but the bass is a bit hollow. You might compensate for this by adjusting your app's equalizer. Considering that Logitech crammed in two radios and a battery, I consider the set's light weight to be a fair trade for the limited bass. In BT mode, the loudness is markedly reduced. Therefore, I don't use the BT for music, at all. The unit works flawlessly as both speaker and microphone in wUSB mode on my Win7 PCs, so I use it that way most of the time. BT is excellent for calls, and also works well. What wasn't apparent to me when I ordered was that the unit switches easily between BT and USB modes, via a hardware switch on the unit. This means I can switch easily between two computers, or a computer and a mobile phone. So I take personal calls and access media from one PC (personal) via wUSB, and take work calls on my phone or work computer via BT.Update after two weeks' use:1) They fold up! I just figured this out when packing for a business trip.2) The forward/back & play/pause controls work great with iTunes and Windows Media Player. They don't work with Amazon Cloud Player, but that's both forgivable and understandable.

I am hearing impaired and these are by far the best i have found for my purposes. I can talk on the cell phone or use with the computer and also with skype. Simple switch to change from blue tooth to computer dongle. I don't know the distances but I can walk around the house enough that if I set my cell phone down, I might not find it easily. In other words you forget that you are on the phone. I can also use these with the Dishnet hopper to listen to the TV so I don't have to blast the volume and annoy others. The best part, when the battery is low, it beeps and all I have to do is plug in to a USB port or charger and continue using them with out interruption. I Love these. I have tried many others. For telephony applications, I have not found a better solution. For TV, These work well, but, if you are like me and have high frequency hearing loss, Then for TV watching, I would recommend the Sennheiser RS110 Over-Ear 926MHz Wireless RF Headphones. (the RS 120 has more low frequency base) (also available from Amazon.)
