I thought I had asked and answered all the right questions before buying this. However, it now sits on my shelf as my older computer, Mac 10.4.11, and skyp requirements just couldn't get it to work. This company makes great products and it is all my fault.

I have multiple Logitech 9000s that work great and have a very clear picture. I was getting ready to buy one as a gift when I saw that they had released the C910. I purchased the C910 for myself and was very excited to try it out. I plugged it in and went through the hassle of installing all of the software that it comes with (just because I needed the drivers). When I went to use it, the picture was very dark to the point where I was really only a silhouette and the other person couldn't see me at all. I went into the settings and saw that the "RightLight" option was checked, so I unchecked it only to have it automatically recheck itself a split second later. It would not let me toggle the option off. When the rightlight option is checked, it does not allow you to toggle the video settings at all, this makes the camera unusable.I uninstalled and reinstalled the software twice and finally got the device to work as intended (a few more options even came up when I was toggling settings that were not there previously), but when I rebooted my computer the device reverted back to what it was doing previously and no amount of reinstalling software has been able to fix it.It seems like a simple driver update would fix the issue but nothing is available through logitech. I have contacted their customer service (don't waste your time) and have contacted them through their website. A quick search will bring up multiple threads of people with 64 bit windows 7 systems having a vast array of issues that make the camera unusable. Just about all of them have been referred to the inept customer service for a resolution. Until Logitech comes out with a fix, this camera is not usable on 64 bit versions of Windows 7. DO NOT BUY

I purchased this as a gift. We could not get it to work on my wife's computer. Put it aside for a while thinking it might be her computer. Tried it on mine and same problem. Can't get it to even be recognized. Complete lemon.

Be carefull, this camera is NOT as good as the show you.If you're planning to do some live stream at 720p, dont get too excited, camera's performance gets SLOOOOOOOWWWWWW as hell. Also, in 1080p mode for recording, is just as slow.I got it in Black Friday at 45 bucks, so.... it's ok. But trust me, you should try another webcam, this one just doesn't fill your expectation.

This webcam is so much clearer sound than i have had before in my logitech quickcam 5000. It does take a few seconds before it will focus into what it needs to. But once it does it is crystal clear. Well it looks clear on my side of the conversation. I am buying one for my girlfriend for christmas so we can skype and not have eachother look like cubes of color. I hope this works. (: The software it comes with too isn't the greatest, but i use skype anyways so it doesn't really matter. Oh and it's 100% skype HD compatible.

This is a great webcam and was a very reasonable price. Our friends are amazed at how clear we come through on their end. We also gave these as Christmas gifts since we were so happy with ours. I would highly recommend this product.

Ordered this product and it came within that week ! "like new" is exactly what I got , easy set up just plug in to usb outlet and done ! I have been using it to video chat with my friends and relatives as they are spread all across the globe. Picture Is of the Highest quality, HD, widescreen,built in microphone. Plus it adjust to surrounding light, even with them off it has a clear picture ! Love the reaction when I hear "It looks like your sitting right in front of me" . Thank you again , if you are looking for a all around great webcam , look no further.

I use this camera and microphone for my skype video calls. Great quality and great picture. I have reccomended this to my sister in-law, she loves it as well. You can't go wrong buying Logitech Quality.

The camera works well with everything (ichat, Logic's s/w) except Skype. If the video is good, the audio is fair and vice versa. There might be some settings that I can adjust so I'll look further into that. The people that I've skyped with have just worked around it so far but I would like for everything to work.

We were looking for a webcame that would have a quality picture with a fast frame speed, and this webcam is just what we were looking for. It was easy to set up, and the quality of the picture is great!

PROS:Easy to install, I plugged it in and the Plug and play downloaded the newest version of the software without even putting in the CD!Software is easy to use.Nice crisp and clear HD picture.CONS:Its a little more expensive but I feel its worth the extra money for a better picture.Like all webcams, the picture is somewhat dark even when the room is well lit, However, it is still brighter than other webcams I have used.Mounting clip seems to be designed more for a desktop monitor rather than a laptop. It just sits there and doesnt clamp on in any way.OVERALL:Good value, I would recommend this webcam to anyone.

This webcam is just straght up one word amazing. The autofocus is just mind blowing. THe second you feel it, you know its gona be good. LOve it. I use it for blogging videos. A must buy without a doubt.

All I can say is WOW. I plugged the C910 into my Macbook Pro and I had a crowd gather around me at the office. We were all very impressed with the crisp clean image quality even on my 27" monitor, it is truly amazing. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to post HD video's to Facebook, YouTube & Skype, which are the applications I am using this webcam for. Just one thing to remember, in order to get perfect quality you must have good front lightning on your subject.

I wish I had had this little device last semester when I had to drive into town to my college's computer lab to attend my weekly on-line class. This webcam was easy to set up (the CD disk upon installment gives simple diretions that are easy to follow) and the manual helps explain any additional buttons and usages.The video and audio quality are also better than most webcams I've worked with over the years. There is hardly any pixelation.Other reviewers stated that the insecure mounting of the webcam was a negative. For laptops I can see that being valid. My desktop, however, is a 25" TV monitor and the webcam sits on the top very easily. Because the webcam isn't securely fastened it actually allows the screen to be moved manually much easier. This comes in handy when video talking with friends, family and especially those little kids who love seeing video stimuli.People who buy and install such a webcam have to create a Logitech account to register the device. Then you have to add your webcam friends so that conferencing is nearly instantaneously. A small monitor screen on the desktop allows the user to zoom in and out or move left, right, up or down while video conferencing. There is very little voice lag between video and audio.Advanced settings allow the user to make personalized adjustments. Maximum upload and download speeds can be anywhere from 56 kbps to 3072. (Mine is set to 1536 in both.) You can also allow the Logitech Vid HD to load on computer start, show user status changes, set status to idle after 5 minutes of inactivity, accept incoming calls automatically and allow Logitech to set best video resolution. There are other settings as well such as minimizing background noise, echo, and seconds between incoming ringtones.If there is a negative to this device it's that the webcam uses the last of my desktop's USB slots. I will need to get an USB extender. But as for ease of use and video/audio quality I am very impressed. My future on-line classes will go much better with this little webcam!Update 2/13/11: I have three on-line classes this semester and this little webcam has been a real gem. It is so easy to use with webstudy-linked conferences and for recording my Spanish lessons. The installed software does all the work for you. You just wait a few seconds until the blue lights come on.

This is a very high quality web camera, the focus is quick and sharp, it even does a macro well. When used with most video conferencing apps it performs superbly.My big problem with this is the logitech software itself. It is buggy and crashes constantly. I've had this camera for almost a year now and I can't properly record 1080P direct from the camera using the logitech software. It works the first time you install the software and then once you close the app, it will won't work again unless you uninstall and reinstall. It is very frustrating.The Logitech support forms are full of people having the exact same problem as me. This problem is limited to Apple Mac OSX (I think it is 10.6 only) users.Just be aware of what its limitations are, otherwise this is a very good camera.

Yes, it technically will plug in and you can do some basic webcamming on a Mac. But to say it's fully functional on Mac is an absolute lie. Virtually 100% of the software is Windows-only, including the ability to edit even the most basic picture settings. That's right -- on a Mac, it is impossible to adjust a single visual setting -- not brightness, not contrast, not exposure, not focus, not saturation, nothing. Not a single thing. Technical support was very apologetic and agreed with me that they shouldn't advertise it as Mac compatible, given that you can't even use it in a room without stage lighting. Not even their auto-brightness adaptation can function on a Mac -- it's essentially a fixed, dark lens worse than the little dot built into the MacBook Pro we were trying to use it with.Incidentally, I tried it on a PC, and the quality was exceptional. But DO NOT buy this product for a Mac. Period.

The webcam just works as advertised. However, I found the included Logitech webcam software which supposed to take pictures and videos to be defective on my desktop. It simply crashes ALL THE TIME and never have one single imagine stored. Now I'll probably have to spend some money for a software similar.Buy it because it's an excellent product but prepare yourself some capturing software in case Logitech doesn't like your PC.My system: Win7 X86 4G pretty new PC.

The software was installed on a Windows 7 64-bit OS with no problems. The picture quality is fantastic and seems to be much better than my standalone slim pocket video recorder (Sanyo Xacti). The photo quality is as I expected and much more from a webcam. It won't replace my DSLR, but for on the fly pics while I'm on the computer is pretty nice for a change.The only issue I had was that the mic for my headset and from the camera interfered the audio while playing starcraft 2. Sc2 players may want to keep that in mind and make sure the correct audio hardware is selected.If you install the logitech software (from the website), you get a nice app that will allow you to take pictures, videos, and motion sensing video. It's configurable to open your desired apps to edit and modify the pics and videos. The autofocus on the camera is excellent. I didn't have any issues with testing even in low light. I love the follow my face feature. It'll autofocus in and out as you move your head around.However, the quality on skype seems to be downgraded a bit, but it's hardly noticeable. I love the fact the logitech software can do visuals effects and it can quite be entertaining. For the 15 minutes I've spent doing this whole testing, I found plenty of features to play around with.My advice is to not be afraid and click at EVERYTHING. Most of the controls are common sense and intuitive enough you can pick up and go with it easily.

After a lot of research I decided to buy this product. I was looking for something that was compatible with older versions of Windows, specifically Windows XP Media Center Edition. The webcam arrived sooner than expected in a sturdy box. Setup was fairly easy, just follow the supplied pamphlet. After installation I tested it and was rather amazed with the picture quality. I believe 1080p is only available in photo mode, but don't quote me. I read that some people had a problem with the mount. I have the device on a HP 19" monitor and it appears to be quite secure. The unit has zoom, left, right, and up/down capabilities. I installed most of the programs from the CD and everything runs smooth. One problem for some is the USB cable, as it is only 5 ft. long. I have a typical computer desk that is approx. 46" across by 19" deep and have cable to spare.All in all I am very satisfied with this camera as well as the shipping.

About a month ago, I spent some time in China on business. While I was gone, I wanted to keep in touch with my kids, and figured that Skype would be the best way to go (free and easy video calls). Therefore, I purchase this webcam with that use in mind, and I have not been disappointed.The camera was very easy to install (on 64-bit Windows 7), and the picture and sound quality have been quite good. Since returning from China, we've even setup my parents (who live 1400 miles away from us), with this camera so that they can video chat with their grandkids on a regular basis. My four children (ranging in age from 3-10) tend to have difficulty sitting still while video chatting, and we had trouble keeping them in frame while the camera was zoomed in enough for the grandparents to see their facial expressions. While searching for a solution, I noticed a webcam option called "Follow my face". After enabling this option, the webcam automatically zoomed in on my children's faces (like we wanted), and followed them no matter how much they shifted in their chair. What a cool feature!I highly recommend this webcam.

I've used this for about a year now to broadcast meetings. The mic's causes garbled sounds in meetings, although they sound fine if you are close. I need to use another mic for meetings.I still need something that will zoom distant faces and screens. At the full distance focus (using the least pixels) the faces and not very recognizable. Also it is not enough to show words on a distant screen. I need to go into advanced options, turn off auto focus, auto light and manipulate options to show words on a screen.There are a lot of options, and it might work with either an optical zoom or double or triple the pixels. I am able to set up on a tripod about 50' or 60' feet from the action.This is definitely better than the C900, and the concept of dual mics should work but doesn't.I use the C910 with SKYPE and WEB123, both interface nicely, although SKYPE will cut out sound if it gets too loud, without telling you that SKYPE is overloading, and without giving you any options. On the other hand, the mics are not sensitive enough for quiet speakers.Although I wish for more, this is a definite improvement over C900 so I give it a 4

We absolutely love this webcam! After reading so many positive reviews we decided to make the purchase. Also, we got it at a wonderful Amazon price! We have went through 3 cams so far, 2 Logitech (cheaper ones) and a HP 3100. The HP was OK, but didn't have near the clarity as this one and controls. I'm operating a Windows 7 64 bit. I heard many bad reviews saying some of the cam's features didn't work properly in this system such as audio, but ours works great! Easy installation and withing 10 min or less we were up and running! LOVE it!
