If you need tech support don't even try to contact gigabyte. If you want to try and find bios/firmware updates... you'll have to depend on a third party. The software gigabyte offers is complete junk. Their overclocking and system monitoring software was out dated (2014)... i couldn't even run it on windows 10... theres a few realtech audio drivers on their website

I upgrade from a 7 year old PC that was running fine, but slow. I expected lightning performance, but haven't seen it yet. It is slightly faster but has several issues.
1. I can't keep it running. Everything works fine and then everything just comes to a halt. A reboot is the only solution.
2. Rebooting is a nightmare. I use this as a stand-alone server and most of the time it hangs when it reboots. I have to reboot several times and when that doesn't work, I carry out a monitor, keyboard and mouse to see why it keeps stopping at the BIOS. I'm sure I have something that isn't configured right, but at this day and age, you would think it would just work... ok, you may not, but I do.
I'll continue to troubleshoot and update if/when I get these things resolved. Wish me luck!

Ive seen lots of bad reviews. I have not had any of the issues as others have with my z390 designare. I believe after buying and building multiple z370 and z390 systems that there is a problem in the tech industry that noone wants to talk about. Quality control. Basicly i bought mostly gigabyte boards. And i will say i recieved some great working products, and some lemons that the usb ports didnt even function on. I say buy the board, test the heck out of it and if one issue comes up in 30 days return it and get another. Its just the cost of buying tech these days. The consumer IS the quality control now. Oh and dont waste your time with gigabyte tech support theres only like one person that even works for them that has a clue what is going on... Gigabyte if your reading this please earn your customers loyalty back by doing better quality control. #1 thing i want is a product that works period!

The Gigabyte Designare has great specs. I am using it in my Hackintosh build. Unfortunately the first board I received died after a few minutes after booting. Amazon immediately replaced it (thanks Amazon). The replacement board was worse. It did not boot at all. After buying a board speaker (should come with the board). I found that the boot failure was accompanied by four long and one short beep. This suggest a faulty memory stick. After trying different memory configurations I have established that memory channel A works and channel B does not. Gigabyte advised me to return the board to Amazon for replacement. Amazon refuses to do so, since this is a replacement board. So now I am stuck with a board with two memory slots. For optimal memory performance both channels A and B should be used. This is not possible on this board.

I spent countless hours troubleshooting random computer crashes and after months of swapping out hardware I finally took the CPU out and discovered a bent pin on the motherboard. When I contacted Gigabyte for a warranty replacement they said bent pins weren't covered under warranty. I recorded video of myself assembling the computer so I reviewed the video and it for sure had the bent pin right out of the box. The take away: Don't purchase anything from Gigabyte unless you like wasting hundreds of hours of your life and hundreds of dollars.

Love this Motherboard, however, I had to have a replacement sent out because the first one was the wrong board. Once the correct one arrived and I got it installed, it fixed a few issues within my PC like a weird audio glitch and some wifi connection issues, but it also created a big issue that I never had before and this is that it shifts the audio to the right channel randomly and very smoothly. It sounds like the speakers or headphones are shifting around your head and it gets extremely irritating when youre trying to play games that require spatial awareness like call of duty.
I would recommend this board to those who think they can either fix this issue or dont mind this happening every once in a while, but to others who dont fall under this category, look elsewhere!

Star 1 - Price vs features.
Star 2 - Documentation.
Star 3 - Software Apps.
Star 4 - Construction.
It looks great. But more important functions great. I am not a big OC'er, so wasn't worried about maxing my CPU out. The documentation is great. Clear and concise.
The reason I didn't give this 5 stars was a couple of reasons. One, the lack of USB 2.0 headers. I have to buy a daughter board with 2 USB 2.0 headers to connect my NZXT M22 Kraken cooler, and NZXT smart hub with lighting and fans. Peripherals like that requires a USB 2.0 header for communication and control. The other issue is, I have to remove the GPU board to install a M.2 drive in the top position.

I love this motherboard everything about it except for one simple thing. I bought this mother board to fit in a large pc case. the motherboard does not fit inside my case perfectly simply because the company of this board design the IO shield prescrewed onto the motherboard. due to this flawed Design, I can only fit three stand off screws at the bottom of the board for my computer. The computers been working fine however due to only having three stand off screws, I am going to be very limited on what graphics card I can use if any at all. Lucky for me I got the Intel version of this motherboard so I can use my computer for school work and computer programming but I cannot use the board to its fullest potential as long as I am using my current case. due to the difficulties I even ended up with scratch on the back of the board but lucky for me it works anyway for what I need it to do. If my board would of fitted into my case, I would of gave it five stars. For this very reason I do not recommend the board, for my case but this really is a good product.

- The Gigabyte software is godawful. Even installing it took multiple attempts, updating the software takes forever and you're never really sure if it's just taking a long time or the program crashed.
- The board has two SATA ports that should work and are listed properly in the BIOS, but won't show any drive that's connected to them (even after checking and re-checking the physical connections and confirming there was power to the drives.)
- I got this board to replace an AORUS board that was substantially worse, but this makes for two boards at different price points from Gigabyte that have major issues.

As shipped and installed in Nov. 2020, this motherboard, at every system boot, puts up a message saying that ...a new version of the App Center is available", and suggests installation. Turns out that this board series has some un-bad problems with software, and the only way to solve it is a long and complicate procedure, not clearly explained, and dangerous as it impinge on the mother board BIOS.
I HAVE IT BUILT INTO MY SYSTEM NOW, AND HAVEN'T TIME TO RE-DO. ...SO, KEEPING IT, BUT THIS IS MY LASTR GIGABYTE PRODUCT.

Ok motherboard but Thunderbolt ports have major issues that manufacturer ignores. The main reason I bought this was for the Thunderbolt ports. I share 3 monitors, mouse, and keyboard with my home computer (in which this motherboard is installed) and my laptop. I switch between the computers using a Thunderbolt 3 dock. On my work laptop all 3 monitors work. On the Gigabyte motherboard only 2 monitors work. The system won't detect the 3rd. Also, the motherboard is supposed to pass through a dedicated GPU Displayport signal through Thunderbolt. Only 1 display will pass through TB. That should not be the case. All 3 should work. Gigabyte support will lead you on for weeks telling you you need to try this and that until your return window is passed. Screw that. If your Gigabyte product doesn't work on the first try don't even bother with support. Just return it right away

This motherboard is so great I can't say enough of positive about this... the thunderbolt feature is greatest one but overall I just love it (using this to build computers - so far like 10 and no problems) I got one of the "used very good condition" ones and in the Z390 designare box there is MSI much cheaper motherboard. I guess someone returned it and scammed amazon to get this great motherboard as replacement for his/her old board. But that's just speculation... what do I know? I just sent it back for replacement hoping all will be good this time and they will accept something else returned to amazon. I took away 1 star as this is not gigabyte's fault and I do not want to speak bad about this great board.

I assembled my DIY workstation without any issues. Within 45 days, I started having boot issues... the BIOS kept resetting. After checking out all the other peripherals, I decided I should check the CMOS battery. Since this was only a couple months old, I figured the battery should be fairly new. Wrong... the CMOS battery was dead. Anytime I've purchased a new computer, the CMOS battery has lasted at least 3-4 years (or longer). I'm really surprised this board shipped with a battery that lasted less than 2 months.

I've slowly been buying all the parts required to build my computer, and this motherboard was one of the first things I bought back in mid may. I finally got all the parts and started building it today but when I opened the motherboard box I could tell it had been opened before. when I went to install the cpu there were multiple pins either bent or missing all together. there is also what looks like thermal paste underneath the latch showing that it has indeed been used before. Now its outside the return date and I'll probably have to go through the headache of dealing with Gigabyte to get it replaced. Biggest waste of money.

This board has been a dream to work with. Probably the easiest time building a system and this motherboard was great. It's laid out perfectly so I didn't have to worry about stretched cables from the case. The only tough spot was the CPU power, but that's always in a bad spot. Probably would have been easier to just connect that prior to mounting the board in the case. Regardless, I'm really happy with my purchase.

I haven't even powered the board up yet -- I just put the m.2 NVME drive in and started to screw it into place... with a screw driver I use for glasses. The screw snapped in half with the threads now stuck inside the board. I have no idea how I'm going to get the other half out and am figuring out if I should send this back or somehow get someone to fix it? Really disappointed in such a cheap piece.

Motherboard has worked great and hasn't given me a single issue running a 9900K. Plenty of ports, I'm plugged in to almost all of them and haven't had any problems. The only thing I wish was better is the RGB is pretty dim, but that isn't that important to me. 2 bios updates in and they have all been stable.

I love that the performance is super stable compared to the more inexpensive B365 motherboards. The extras like the CNVi WiFi Module With Bluetooth 5.0, Dual NVMe M.2 Storage, DDR4 Memory up to 4266MHz Support, Two Gigabit Ethernet ports plus 1.73Gb/s Wi-Fi, Third x16 slot switchable between PCH and CPU lanes, Beefy VRMs, large heatsinks, Dual Full Bandwidth Thunderbolt 3 ports (More on that later),and more flexible PCIe Lane Configurations. Back to the TB3 ports, they’re Full-Spec Thunderbolt 3 ports, that Supports 8K passthrough from DisplayPort 1.4 graphics cards (a cable is included in the box to plug in to the MB) All of the feature in conjunction with the MacOS compatible BiOS can create a really stable hackintosh. Plus the RGB is pretty nice bonus at this point 😄

The motherboard I received looked perfect, until I opened up the CPU socket, where I found numerous pins were bent and damaged. The motherboard was unusable, and to prevent any further damage, I opted to return it. Buyer beware, your taking a gamble ordering a used motherboard from Amazon Warehouse!! I thought saving some money on an “item is in original packaging. Packaging may be damaged” listing was a good idea. NOPE
Got the same motherboard from another retailer in perfect condition and it’s amazing, which is why i’ve left 5 stars

Pretty good board with lots of options on the I/O. Build was a breeze as well as bios update for CPU. Gigabyte App center software is trash. Gigabyte Monitoring software worked for about a month. And now fails to open. Luckily NZXT's cam software runs smooth. Gigabyte Tech support says wipe OS and do a fresh install for their software to work again. Not worth the trouble reinstalling all programs,Codecs and Reg Keys to change board RGB color. (stuck on blue). All in all.. Hardware is great/Software is shit.

Its a beautiful looking MOBO, and it works well. I've had no issues with it and installation was simple. It is worth noting that the lights do not turn off when the PC is off (unless you hit the PSU switch, they're always on), so if the PC is in your bedroom that may be an annoyance.

This motherboard has everything I wanted for my new build --- support for a fast nvme ssd as a boot drive without giving up more than one SATA port; Thunderbolt 3 on the board that just works right out of the box; High end sound with an impedance-sensing headphone jack so I can use my 300 ohm headphones; support for both USB 3.0 and USB 3.1 (via separate motherboard cable sockets) on the front of my case; extra USB 2.0 ports on the motherboard to support additional lighting inside the case; and that Gigabyte durability.
Also, having the I/O shield pre-mounted to the motherboard is pretty nice.
