Produces nice prints from scanned negatives/slides. Just what I needed to scan the numerous slides and negatives that have been produced over the many years by my father.

I purchased this scanner because I needed to archive some fifty year old newspaper photos.The included software was a fantastic deal. Probably the stand alone products cost more than thescanner itself.

Contrary to the experiences of some other reviewers, I've found that the photo scanner does everything I had expected, and at a great price. I do wish Epson provided more and better clear plastic carrier sheets though, to make scanning multiple photos easier and faster.

I really like this scanner. I really bought it for the digital ICE but didn't notice much difference in finished product and it took a lot longer. But I really like the color restoration feature. It really brings back those old snapshots that have yellowed with time.

This our third Epson Scanner and the technology gets better with each model. The reason for the changes over time is computer upgrade. This scanner is loaded with improvements. Easy to use and great scans. One thing so far is that the ICE technology may be over rated because I seem to get better details when I turn that feature off. But I have more to learn and may well change my mind on that. I have had the scanner about 6 weeks.

Although it can't scan 4x5 film the rest are handled with ease. Crisp scans with amazing color, easy to use.

Setup out of the box very fast and easy. Very good scan quality. Quite and very fast as it needs no warm-up like the older scanners. Excellent on slides. Had 40 year old slides and used features like clean dust and scratches, worked passed my expectations. Would recommend.

Received promptly and in perfect condition. So far I have found it to be easy and it produces high quality results. Plan to used it much more during the coming months.

Very easy to set up....works well for photos. I haven't tried negatives yet. Easy to use. A lot of features I havem't tried yet

The scanner software is horrible! Each time I want to scan I need to reboot the computer, it gives me an error (no response). So I have to reset the machine in order to make a scan. Buyer beware -stay away!!!

Easy to set up; easy to use. In fully automatic mode device will detect and scan photos, positives (slides), negatives, documents. The file compression is better than most economy scanner we had previously without sacrificing quality. The template accessory used for scanning slides is a little cumbersome to use, but that could also be a user learning curve.Wish list: I wish that the device included a printer; then I could eliminate one additional appliance.

After reading the reviews on both Amazon.com and CNET.com, I purchased the Epson Perfection V600! The scanner certainly exceeded my expectations! It does take a bit of time to get a good outcome, but it scans old slides, negatives, and black & white so well that it is worth the wait! This is going to keep me busy for a long time.

I've bought Epson v600 to scan old films, slides and prints mainly. I have noticed litte or no improvement when using Digital ICE for prints and old films (although when using Digital ICE the process of scanning is very slow). Tears, folds, creases were left as is after scanning.Epson v600 software for Windows is much better, but still has lots of problems. It crashes for me all the time. It changes settings after scanning. If you want to scan multiple prints, the software won't find borders automatically, not will it align images vertically and horizontally. Color restoration is so so, but background correction has never worked for me. Bundled FineReader is way too old.Fixing a film in the adapter is very cumbersome. Removing slides from the adapter is not an easy task as well.Bundled Photoshop Elements is old, but still a plus.Epson v600 has alternative software for Linux, but it is very poor and can't use all the features that hardware supports.If you don't use Digital ICE and need high resolution and fast speed, v600 may work fine for you. But you should consider v330 instead. If you need Digital ICE for removing dust and scratches, read other reviews, 'coz it didn't work for me at all.

I bought the scanner on the recommendation of a friend who is digitizing all his family slides and pictures. After investigating many options, be settled for the HP 3050A. He was not deceived and sent me copies of his old slides. I was sold and bought my own. So far, every challenge met. Lourenco

I have been very pleased with Epson Perfection V600. I have used it to convert slides. It does an excellent job but it is time consuming. It takes about two minutes to scan four slides, but I have been pleased with the results. In fact, I bought a second scanner so my father can convert his slides.

The quality of the scans is wonderful. The software for mac is a little lacking and inflexible. The fact that I can only scan 12 frames at a time drives me insane and is why I returned the scanner. I need to scan high volumes of film and thought I could get around the 12 frame limitation with my old 24 frame adapter but that isn't the case. It's a shame since it's such a nice scanner otherwise, but it just wasn't a good fit for the kind of scanning I need done.

The color fidelity and clarity of the images are outstanding.Operation is straightforward, and instructions direct and unambiguous.I should prefer a larger capacity per scan than only four (4) 35 mm slides, but this is not a serious drawback.

This scanner replaced a 8 year old model Epson I had purchased when I retired. Now I'm sorry it took the old one to have problems as this new V600 really does as outstanding job of scanning photographs. he setup was easy and the scanner functioned flawlessly with my Adobe software. I produced a 300 slide-show from old photos to celebrate our 50th anniversary and everything worked out great!
