I have purchased this camera to work along side my 5D MK2. And that filp screen is a must have, you don't realize how important it is until you start using it.

Canon 60 D is the by far the best camera for the $$$. I have yet to see why the 7D is so popular, other then it's video capability, but the 60D is just as good a Camera and a lot less expensive.

I have been asked buy several people to include the photo retailer I bought this camera from to review this camera so I thought I would give it a try. First off I would like to tell you that I am not Ansell Adams or some great photographer, I'm just a guy who wanted to buy a camera. I am not going to sit here and tell you that this is the greatest camera in the word or that it's an entire waste of money. I am not going to tell you that U.S. Navy SEALS use this camera, (because truthfully they want to use a camera they use the Hubble Telescope) or that this should be the DSLR (digital single lens reflex) camera that you should get. What I can tell you is how and why I picked this camera and what I got with it.I took some photography classes back in high school before the time of digital cameras and wanted to get back into it so I started on Consumers Report, C.R. gave the top rating for DSLR to the Canon EOS D60. From there I started to read reviews from other sources and compare prices on other cameras. Some gave great reviews some gave lesser reviews stating that the D60 was a step down from the D50 it is replacing. When it was all done and over with my choice was made over cost.The D60 I feel is the first camera in the line that gives you full control of the settings a photographer wants to use to get amazing photos. The 18 megapixels and the large 22.3 x 14.9 mm sensor was the next determining factor. To move up any higher is to spend a lot more money and get in the professional equipment realm. I also went with just buying the camera body and purchasing a Canon 15-85mm 3.5 lenses which is a much better lens than comes with the kits.So far I am very impressed with the camera and have worked with some Marine Combat Photographers (who use Canon D7's) and they are very impressed with it too. One recommendation I will make is if this is your first DSLR camera of you are not very comfortable with one pick up the book "Canon EOS 60D Snap shots to Great Shots by Nicole S. Young" Canon EOS 60D: From Snapshots to Great Shots which is a great book to get you acquainted and educated on all the features and settings of the 60D.

This camera is all I had hoped for. Very responsive and easy to use. Finding new processes daily. Great for the new user

the camera works fine. Everything was packed very neat. The lens is great, needs some practice. Very happy with my new camera.

We had this camera for over 10 years and then it stopped auto focusing. I had all the good lenses for it so just bought the new "body"

I have owned this one for almost one year! I do enjoy it. It is a well made, high quality SLR, you do not need 75-300, just use one 18-200 and one 50 f1.8 - two lenses, will be good for almost everything you like to take.Most of people are entry level users who want to spend reasonable money and get the good photos, it does come with very reasonable price and very good manual functions --> very good quality pictures and easy to operate !Under common strong light sources, sun, spot light, most of SLR will do very well, but how about low light? or even almost no light?I have tried many low light shots! almost all of them are very good! Just up load a picture to "Customer Image Gallery" which is under very low street light and some garden light. I am very impress the photos after I took. It does not like the image when you looked at the real objects by using you own eye! Please check the one I have loaded and also there are some "SUNSET" and other photos which I took at Waikiki beach Hawaii, Jan 2012.For someone who wants to try higher end SLR than T3i, this is the one. you can do some research in the Internet, you will get the same results, compared to T3i, 60D is a different machine!I do enjoy it very much!

The camera was exactly what I hoped it would be. I used it in a trip to Europe and it took amazing pictures.

I had thought about buying the T4i Rebel, but I'm very happy with the choice of the 60D. I like having the external LCD display for the settings compared with the Rebel series. The camera has been great. A lot to learn, but so far no problems other than my own mistakes in wrong settings. I haven't used an SLR type of camera for many years, and I'm so glad that I bough the 60D. I highly recommend this camera, especially as a step up from the Rebels and below the 7D.

I purchased the 60D hoping to have a good camera for advanced amateur use. What I got is a camera with pictures that are so soft that they are beat hands down by point and shoot camera costing 20% of the price and with 50% less resolution!. After being suggested to change the sharpness levels to the max allowable (the default inexpicably is set to the middle of the range) the picture quality changed very subtly but again was beat handily by a simpler camera in picture equivalent tests. Having gone to the web to see if there was a resolution to this issue, I notice that this seems to be a Canon 60D issue with numerous people sending in the camera to be fixed. Whether this all worked or not is not the issue - the issue is that for a $1000 camera one expects a certain level of quality which alas is sadly lacking in this Canon product. I'm extremely disappointed in this camera especially as my last Canon was a Powershot with which I was thrilled and still use. Thrilled hardly describes my experience with the 60D which will now need to go in for fixing, and if unsuccessful will be traded in for a non-Canon camera as its not acceptable as is.To the question would I recommmend this to a friend? The answer is unequivocably and definitely no.

it works really good but dunno why for some reason, the camera I got is a little bit weird. The camera cap just keep dropping.

I have owned a variety of Nikon DSLR cameras, but none of them would come close to my new Canon 60D camera. I love the lens. The capability of shooting photos at low light is amazing! Close-up shots are the best! I don't want to go through reviews as many others have already covered in their posts. It is just another good review on this particular camera.Buy it while you can! You won't regret it!

I recently purchased this camera mostly for portrait use. So far I am very pleased. Camera arrived promptly and have taken some really great photos so far. No complaints. Lighter body than the 30D since the body is poly carbonate instead of magnesium alloy. May not be as durable but for portrait use this is a great camera.

I purchased the Canon 60D on the first day of May. Not having had time to play with it until this week, I did not notice that the external flash would not work. The on-camera flash works fine but who wants to use that. After having tried two different speedlites....neither worked....zero. I tried to get help from Amazon but the return date had passed. Since this is the first time I have ever had a problem with a Canon, I was unprepared for this disappointment. Now it is up to me to deal with Canon and repairs. Very frustrating! Be wary of the 60D and check it out thoroughly if you buy it. I am hacked.

i bought it for my friend who lives out of usa.that's why i use it about a month in usa and and really liked it.

The camera arrived on time and in perfect condition, except for the display which does not fix itself (i.e. does not click) to the camera body when facing inwards.

I purchased this item a year ago and have had more problems out of this camera than any I've SLR I've ever owned. 1. piece came loose in my lens and now my pictures will not focus and lens won't fully extend. 2. When I remove my external flash, the normal flash will not fire. 3. the grips on the camera have come loose. I am very unsatisfied with this Canon product and will more than likely go back to Nikon

I'm in love with this camera.Is great, I spent a lot of time comparing this camera to the Canon T3i and then with the 4Ti and I decided the 60D because of the body construction. The great quality of the construction materials, the digital screen on the top of the body and the control wheel worth the extra cash.The same day I bought this camera I also ordered a 4Ti of a friend, is a good camera but it feels the same as the XSi, T1i, T2i...I mean, all of them looks the same. The touch screen is just a fancy addition, not that great, the external LCD of the 60D is way more useful.

Bought this camera for a photography class and also to shoot some student films. The camera is awesome and works great for both film and photography.

I WAS a Canon shooter (40D), with a bevy of great lenses, until I was tempted by the fruit of Nikon after sampling a friends camera.I bought a similar class body (D90) to the 40D, and then some of their decent middle of the road lenses, as I had done with Canon.I sold off all of my Canon gear, in hopes for a new experience, a new frontier to explore.Well, after a full year of solely Nikon shooting, with only Nikon lenses on the D90, I realized my mistake. I should have never switched. I guess I knew this early on, but I was now invested, and didn't want to jump ship too soon (though I should have).The images lacked punch, that dynamic Canon hit was missing. I was bored with the D90's results, whereas I was typically impressed with Canon. I also was less than impressed with the Nikon GUI and tactile experience. After a full year, I still never felt comfortable handling the D90. It seemed awkward to use, and not very intuitive.Well, I am now back with Canon.I bought a 60D with the 18-135, added a 28 1.8, and couldn't be happier.From my first shots until the present, I gotta say, It feels good to be back. There's no place like home!The 60D is a very good to excellent camera. Highly recommended.I can't believe how much I missed Canon's image quality, and the ease of use that their cameras have. They seem to bring the most important elements of their pro cams to their prosumer/enthusiast SLR's. Nikon, not so much.Canon 60D thoughts;Pros:-Quality of Images is Excellent relative to your lens.-Camera body size is perfect. Just big enough (and I have big XL hands)-Interface/User experience is excellent & typical Canon-Cost is a steal for the quality and features.Cons:-I do not like the cheap feel the buttons and the wheel have.-Plastic feel needs to be improved. How much more could it cost to beef it up a bit?-that's it.Loving everything else.

I bought this camera with lot of expectations upgrading from a 4 year Canon XTI. I was utterly disappointed that the camera was not sharp at all. I mean if this was my first SLR I would never know. My XTI produces much sharper images with the same 50 MM prime lens. There is no way I could justify the cost for getting poor quality images.I have to saw Amazon was very nice to accept the return for a full refund.
