I bought this as an upgrade from my well used entry level EOS Rebel XS. I am very happy with the quality of the camera and of the photos it produces. I added a Cannon Speedlight 430EXII and it makes the world of difference when shooting indoors. If you don't have a good flash, buy one.Many reviews I found online say that the body of the 60D feels cheap. Not true. The body is very solid. It isn't the tank the 7D is, but unless you are a pro who uses their equipment extremely heavily, the 60D should do everything you want. Go look at them side by side in a retail shop. It also costs $500 less than the 7D and with that money you could get a new flash or lens.

An excellent camera for someone not wanting to spend $3,000 for a full-frame canon body. Fun to use on professional assignments.

great camera, beautiful pictures... easy menu and strong chasis... recomended for entusiasitc and semi pro photographers. its a big superior product than de rebel line.

it is a very good camera. It took some punishment in a desert and still works fine. Good range of features for beginners and seasoned users alike.

Since I already have a signifcant investment in quality glass for the Canon DSLR system, this was the logical choice in upgrading from my 30D's. Not dissapointed. Similar feel and function with a lot of upgrades.

I got this as a gift and the pictures are quite stunning. I just order a telephoto lens and can't wait to shoot!

Still on the cheaper, consumer-grade end of the spectrum, this is a wonderful camera. It has a bit of a pro-lookalike body. It has more features than the Rebel cameras, and the flip-out LCD is great.

Canon is a trusted name brand that I've been using for years. Love my new 60D, great upgrade from my rebel. Would recommend to everyone.

I purchased this kit (camera with lens 18-230mm) because the price offer bit competitors by almost $400. So overall the deal was good because of the type of lens. As for the camera model, you can read any professional review in any professional magazine onr online store - the eternal competition Canon-Nikon is a matter of taste :-)

Have enjoyed the IS30 Powershot, but wanted something more versatile, especially rapid-fire shot capability (have pets and grandkids...try getting them to hold still!). The 18-200mm lens works fine. I bought an 18-55 afterward, but realized that the 18-200 covers the 55 as well. But I find the shorter and LIGHTER lens very appropriate if I am not concerned about a longer zoom. Also got a f/1.4 50mm low-light lens, which allows for great indoor shots. Manual takes quite a bit of repeat reading, but I've been able to learn a lot about the camera. Also noted that it was the top-rated DSLR by consumer reports.

I can't believe that I spend over $1,000 for a camera and it arrives without any memory card. One would think that Canon would "bundle" in a memory card that retails for about $30 so that the buyer can start using the product quickly if necessary.

This is a great camera. I bought it to upgrade from my Rebel xti. At first, I didn't want the lens, but I'm glad I spent the extra money for it. Great camera, great lens. Looking forward to shooting more with it!

Initially i had planned to buy a Canon 7D, but upon further research and a sad realization of my actual budget, i decided to go with the 60D and i havent regret it! this camera is light, feels solid, and is just an overall good camera. the rotating screen is very nice for taking video at low angles and for tilting down so i can see the screen while the camera is on my 6 foot tall tripod and taking high angle shots.

This camera has many features that make it easy to use. I especially like the rapid fire mode for photographing birds in flight.

for video is a very good camera and reasonably price for dslr.when used to Shot photos a camera that responds very well.

I upgraded in the biggest way from my old, but reliable, XTi. Wow, I wish I could go back in time and re-take all my pictures with this much more detailed camera. Do yourself a favor and step up to this camera if you have any of the Rebel series. You'll thank yourself later. Also, the swiveling LCD makes shots possible that used to be completely impossible in tight quarters. It will save you from putting your head on the ground and hurting your back to get the right angle for certain shots.

The body is heavy as other reviewers have pointed out. Otherwise it's perfect for an advanced amateur. The 3 inch LCD is excellent.

I started out with a 40D. That was my first "real camera". Before then, I was using a then-new Canon G7 and thought that I was pretty hip for having a better-than-average camera. The 40D started me on the DSLR path and it's been thoroughly enjoyable so far. I went into the hobby hard core and pretty much have owned every body since the original Rebel XT all the way to the 5D MKII. At the height of my insanity, I had several pelican cases full of camera gear. About six months ago, I decided that I've explored the Canon system enough to my satisfaction, and that I would now distill down to at most two bodies and 5-6 lenses. I sold off everything, including the 5D MKII and now have a very old XTi that I don't care about banging up, and this 60D for when I want to make more of an effort.Plenty of other people have posted their impressions of the 60D, including some very technical reviews. I will just say that after giving this hobby a serious go in terms of time and money, after doing 3 years of paid gigs on the side of product photography, this the 60D takes better pictures than my abilities. The XTi also probably takes better photos than my abilities. It's a great body, easy to use, good quality, and dependable. I really like it and have now come full circle for the 40D that I first bought.

The Canon 60D is the best Camera that I've ever owned. This is my fifth Canon Camera and I'm a big fan of Canon..

I actually returned this camera and got the Rebel T4i. It was too heavy of a camera for my daily use
