Love the camera, but UNFORTUNATELY it came with a pixel out and the only way to find out that it was out was to use the camera (which voids the ability to return it) so now I'm photoshopping out a TINY red spot in every image I take from now until forever.I'm glad I bought it, but I definitely won't buy from this seller again. Buy new people - always buy new when it comes to cameras.

I have taken over 8000 pictures with this camera in 20 months.I use the Sigma 17x50 f\2.8 EX HSM for my landscape and people shots. Canon 400mm f\5.6 for birds.Positives:Picture quality is better the the 50D. The JPEGs look great to me.ISO 1600 looks good at least on my 26 inch monitor with no cropping, but not blowing it up to the pixel level. For cropping, for instance bird pictures, I would not use higher than ISO 400.Negatives:When using my 400mm, my shutter locked up twice in 20 degree weather. I had to turn off the camera to get the shutter to release. Yesterday at 17 degrees, the shutter would not fire unless I put it in manual focus. I have had 3 other Canon DSLRs that have not had this issue. Note that the manual does state the working temperature range is 32-104F...same as my 50D.Sigma EF500 DG Super external flash did not work with the camera, it works with the 50D.After trying to use the Sigma flash, the on camera flash would not popup - indicates external flash in use. This is a common problem with this camera related to any flash. At least one person indicates it gets better with use. Nonetheless, you have to manually "fix" the hot shoe so the pin resets. You can Google search to see how to reset it.Bottom line: I think this is a great camera that takes great pictures, but doesn't like the cold, at least with my 400mm, and it doesn't like older Sigma flashes.

This camera is great and easy to use. The 100-6400 made it easy to shoot in low-light situations. Pictures were crisp, color was vibrant. Video quality was amazing.Love the settings and all the features. This camera helped me win awards at an annual intercollegiate press association in Texas.The Canon EOS 60D is literally the total package.

I loved this camera a lot. I was interested in photography but i already knew the basics. This made the 60D an ideal choice for me

This is my first shift into an SLR. I've owned other Canons for years, so it was no surprise that I liked it, but I still have been thrilled with this camera. It was a little hard to get used to the heft and I'm still trying to find a way of carrying it, and the macro lens I bought, when hiking -- front packs are too long and I can't see my footing, etc. So on the bulk side I'm still adjusting. But, in terms of just gorgeous pics, it's been terrific. The only barrier for me with this camera is my own learning curve.

My only complaint is that in this age, with all the technology being so intuitive, this camera could be improved in terms of the feeling and position of buttons, scrolling through the menu being awkward.But I think it captures the images clearly, (although i would recommend a tripod) and any fault for unsightly pictures would be mine for not knowing much about photography.

Very cool camera. Takes cool shots. need the case though. Easy to use but need to read up a little bit to max it's benefits.

This camera does everything it is suppose to do, and it is very easy to use. I do mostly still photography, so I have not used the video mode very much. However, what little video I have taken has been professional quality.

Great funcionality and quality for the cost. Just an awesome tool. I recommend it to anyone interested in camera or video.

I used to be the Chief Editor of Photography for this antique thing called a "newspaper" Where we went into "Dark Rooms" to develop the magical images we captured on our 35mm devices. So I finally made the tech leap from the 1800's to the 21st century and I'm glad I did! The clarity of the images is important to any photographer with a good eye and I can't wait to see what this thing can do. I'm an amateur photographer. Before I bought this, I had been taking photos with my phone and other people's camera. I wish I could get a full-frame one, but money is my concern.So, this one is perfectly worth its price (less than 700). But, make sure you get a nice lens (i'm using 17-40mm) to enhance your experience.

An update for canon eos 60d owners suffering the "card write protected" fault.We bought two canon 60d bodies to use as HD video cameras, the first suffered a problem where on screen card write protected fault occurs and now the second body has suffered the same issue just out of warranty.I must say I am not at all impressed with both bodies suffering the same fault, both cameras have been used by separate operators and only for light use and both used different brands of SD cards.It would appear that the SD card reader is the Canon EOs 60d weak area and once this fault occurs when the camera fails to work with any SD card and displays card write protected you are faced with only one option but to pay canon for a fixed price repair leaving you short of Ł200.canon will only replace the faulty part with the same part that fails and only guarantee the repair for six months ! Which basically means they dont trust it to last more than six months before you have another Ł200 bill.A camera that needs such a regular repair is not a camera that can be relied upon by anyone other than the occasional shooter.The only solution is to leave the SD card in the camera permanently and hope that usb connector lasts long enough to see you get some use.searching the internet throws up many other users with this fault and leads me to believe the SD card writer fitted in this body is sub quality and prone to failure.As the card can be write protected in the Body, canon could easily release a minor firmware update to instruct the camera to ignore the card write protected fault, instead of stinging owners out who's warranties have expired Ł200 a time for a manufacturing fault.The 60d is a great camera, until it breaks ! then you own a door step.I shall not be repairing either body and will sell them both for spares and buy a SLR for HD video from another maker that does not break !

Everything I expected...took my photos to the next level. Made the move from a T3 to the 60D, and I am very glad I chose the 60D.

Good camera overall, I took a lot of pictures with it under many conditions (low light and action). The camera performed pretty well at high ISO and the video feature with the flip out screen is very helpful.I spent a little over $1000.00 with a kit lens, and you would think that they would add a little weather stripping. My camera got splashed while my kids were swimming with the dolphins at an amusement park and they wanted $630 to fix it. When I say got splashed, I mean it got splashed and dried off immediately and that was it.I wish I would have purchased the 7D instead. Check the Rebel's for weather-stripping if you cannot afford the 7D or look at the Nikon's or Micro 4-3rds. I cannot recommend the 60D for the simple fact the it did not take much water at all to destroy this expensive camera. It may have been a one in a million shot with the water but I cannot in good will recommend this camera.

My son needed a newer camera to video my grandson so I upgraded myself with the 60D and loaned him my T3i, which is a great camera in itself. So far the 60D has been great and several steps up from the T3i. I want high quality photographs and if I run the camera like my old Canon AE-1 it works very well. I'm not into the program modes as I prefer to be creative with the settings and see what I get. I read all the reviews, both good and bad, on several sites and for the money I think I made the right choice.
