This camera body is a workhorse camera, even when partnered with another Canon body for two camera shoots. Works well, and low light shoots are a non issue with this camera. A good investment.

Great value for my first DSLR. I recommend buying a 50mm lens for portraits. They are fairly inexpensive and definitely worth having as a 2nd lense.

There are already 900+ reviews for this outdated model so there's not much point but here's a quickie:This was an upgrade for me. With all the new Canon's that have come out, this one with lens was actually cheaper for me than when I bought my 30d years ago (also when the newer models were released) Unless you are a hardcore professional (an actual professional) then this is more than you can ask for. It's the first SLR I've owned that also shoots video. It looks good and will do the trick for basic shooting... but if you really want to do actual shooting, then you should buy a camera that's primary function is video and not photo. Not photo then video. For photographers, this is a terrific buy!!The menu and interface on the back is different and will take a bit of getting used to from previous models, but you get accustomed to them quickly. If this is your first SLR then definitely get this because of the great price. Shelling out huge bucks for the latest model is overkill and unnecessary.

So far I have not had any problems with this camera. The camera feels very solid and is heavy. There isn't anything cheap about the Canon EOS 60D and is worth the price I think. The Canon EOS 60D has worked fine for me, although It is taking sometime learning all of the features which this camera does have many.

I had been waiting to buy a Canon and this one really fits into the category of love at first sight. He turned professional really.

This is my very first DSLR to own (I used a Canon 20D before). I've had it for 7 months now and it has been fabulous! It is a great starter camera for beginning, but serious, photographers. It is also $100 cheaper buying from amazon compared to the Canon website.One of my favorite features is the rotating screen. It makes it so much easier when doing self portraits or getting a really low or high angle shots. The screen for the camera is really great quality too!I would recommend buying the body only and getting a different lens, other than the one that generally comes with the camera. I bought the Canon 50mm 1.8 lens, which is a great starter lens and is only about $120. Very cheap for a lens!The ONLY downside to the camera is that while using the video recorder, the camera tends to get a little hot. It will even tell you that in the instruction manual. This really only happens when you record for long periods of time. If you record for over 30 minutes, the camera usually gets a little warm. I think it's so awesome that Canon put an HD video recorder on a DSLR, but there's definitely room for improvement in the future! If you plan on using this soley for video, I would recommend getting an actual video camera.The liveview mode was a little disappointing too because it takes longer than usual for the camera to focus. I was really excited about this feature but definitely let down in the end. I think this is another one of those camera features that needs improvement in the future!I definitely wouldn't let any negative sides of the 60D keep you from purchasing it! I love my camera to death and don't have ANY regrets about buying it. Buy it!

Camera arrived in an unsealed box, in bubble-packing which was un-taped. Perhaps that's the way they do it at Canon, but it smells like a return to me. Battery charger was included, but the Canon battery was missing. I'm going on vacation in four days, and thank God I ordered (what I thought was) a spare battery. I bought my old EOS XTi at B&H, & maybe I should have stuck with them.

so far so good. I like Canon. well just choose what you want to choose, it also depends on your lens.

When I first went from a point and shoot to the T3 I thought it cant get any better than this. Then I recently purchased the 60D and wow was I ever shocked at how much sharper the photos turned out. Bright crisp and loaded with detail that just wasn't there before.

I got this camera on behalf of my son and he loves it. Great photos and video. Still working on finding the right focus during nigh time, not sure if he knows the right setting.

the video feature does not work, it takes pictures instead of filming .I thought i was gonna be a god product but is not worth it

I have a lot to learn about this camera. I can say that even on the easiest auto modes the pictures I take with the D60 have much more clarity and sharpness than what I was used to with the T1i. It's a fairly large step up in price but I believe I will get much better shots all around. I am an amateur but I will stand by these opinions.

The 60D fills a niche between my prior Digital Rebel and the 7D. I very much like the lighter body and comfortable larger grip for my XL hands. Having the 1080 HD capability makes this a hybrid for an enthusiast like me that makes photography a lot of fun. The logic board gives me a range and depth of saturation of colors not possible in my older Rebel. I am very pleased with the results.

In the fall of 2009 I bought a Canon Rebel XS. It was the perfect camera to learn on. Nothing too complicated, but it still took incredible images. I even shot my brother's engagement photos with my Rebel XS and a Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens and had people asking what professional took them (I am faaaar from a professional!).However, after a couple years with my Rebel, I knew it was time for an upgrade. I knew I wasn't ready for a full-frame monster like the 5D Mark X series, but I wanted a substantial upgrade. I was torn deciding initially between the T3i and the 60D. The articulated screen, HD video abilities, and 18 MP sensor were all attractive features. After watching numerous reviews comparing the two, I realized it only comes down to a few features. I then started looking at the 7D and watched numerous reviews comparing the two. I again realized it only comes down to a few features.It basically came down to this: the 7D had the features I wanted but was out of my price range. The T3i was a nice upgrade, but I feared owning it a year and feeling like I was ready to upgrade again. The 60D was exactly what I wanted: a huge upgrade from my Rebel XS without breaking the bank. It had enough of the higher-end features to be competitive and a camera I wasn't going to be tired of in a few months while keeping the price tag under $1000.All this to say: if you're in the same place I was, the 60D is the camera for you!

I purchased this camera after a year of drooling over it & I absolutely love it! Definitely something I can use for my photo sessions & for every day life. Such a good buy!

Update (11/03/2012): I got the replacement of the new 60d with 18-135 lens and Amazon confirmed that they received damaged one (so nothing to worry now). Good job Amazon for the prompt response.Though I had a hard time tracking the package when UPS picked it up since the package was gone and UPS left a UPS info notice saying that 1st attempt of pick up failed.As to the product, i have to invest more time to ensure that everything is working fine. This is my first DSLR and I'm very excited to use it more since this is a great product (based on the initial pictures i took)!!!Update (10/30/2012): I would just like to share my experience upon ordering this canon 60d with 18-135 lens. I'm a first time user of DSLR so I didn't notice at once that there's a very small dent in the lens kit. I only noticed it when I removed its cap in front of the light. Note that I haven't used this outside my apartment and I've already attached a filter to protect it from any scratch.I've requested Amazon for a replacement and hopefully I can get a new one without any damage so I can update my feedback/review for this.

I'm not a pro but I know I good product and I know how to take the right picture for the circumstances. For over 10 years I used a Canon Rebel and really learned how to shoot from that camera. I since have given it to my 14 year old daughter to start a new hobby of photography. I then upgraded from the kit lens to a 50mm and then the 18-135 as my ability to manipulate light continued to grow. Well I finally decided to upgrade camera bodies after really wanting a larger screen and reading numerous reviews on the 60D. I'm glad I did. I am very glad I did. It has really improved my learning curve. I would have never considered an STM lens until I saw how much easier the video is to take and share from the camera. I got a great deal on a bundle as well on the 60D but not from Amazon, sorry! Get one you won't be dissappointed.
