Guys let me share my experience with Asus!
I was having troubles because my ISP gave me a cheaper router option so for a whole year I was limited to my speed max to 50mbs in a 100Mbs plan. So I was wasting half of the speed due to the router.
Recently I purchased the Asus model AC1500 RT-AC59U and everything changed at home.
I now have a constant speed of 90-95mbs Up and down speed in our 4LDK house having good signal at the furthest places from the router. Would be excellent if I can locate the router in a central location at home but I'm not able due to the NTT pre installed access.
Despite the speed factor, Asus also provide a whole bunch of tools in the router that improved my daily use. The airadar option maximize the wife signals and the MUMiMO support provide an equal and good speed to Evey device at home.
Did I mention ASUS support VPN? Well that's the more important factor I choose this router, now I'm able to use OpenVPN LT2P or PPTP clients to protect my data and unlock content from other regions. Also I can create a local server to use VPN from outside home.
All in all this is the best option without breaking the bank account for me. I hope this help you to choose for your own purchase.
The only downside is that the interface is totally in Japanese and it doesn't support English natively but you can use Google Chrome to translate it to any language you wish.
Also the router accept configuration by phone (Android or IOS) using the Asus router Application. But if you need to do more specific changes on the settings you will have to access thru the web browser.
I'll update this review to break down every pro and cons in the next few months.

Glad to report that this router received a huge discount from 6K to 3k and that's not the best part because this month update firmware version brings us the native English support for the router. That's right, no need to use google to translate now the settings itself give us the option to choose between japanese and english. Again a bargain for a great router.

Best bang for your buck!
This router has been amazing and I have never had to restart it. I have had some routers in the past which would freeze up after awhile. Also this router had some features which I found very useful, I talk more about this in my video review. I highly recommend this router and have recommend it to friends and family members.

8年ほど使用していたAirMac Extremeの調子が悪くなったので、こちらを購入。
70平米ほどのマンションでの使用だが、
全部屋で安定して使用でき、設定も楽だった。
iPhoneアプリでも設定を確認・変更できるのも良い。
この金額感のものなら十分なものだと思う。
スマホ2台、タブレット1台、PC2台、ゲーム機1台で接続していて、
同時接続4台くらいしか試していないが通常通り使えている。
IPv6を設定した上で光B○ユニットでWi-Fiを飛ばすよりも、
こちらを噛まして飛ばしたほうが、スピードテストの結果早かった。
一点マックユーザーに注意が必要なのが、
この機種ではUSBでHDDを繋いでもTime Machineに設定することはできないこと。
70平米ほどのマンションでの使用だが、
全部屋で安定して使用でき、設定も楽だった。
iPhoneアプリでも設定を確認・変更できるのも良い。

5G wifi maxes out around 350 mbps
I thought perhaps it was time to upgrade from my four-year-old Apple Time Capsule router. Unfortunately, this router isn't much of an upgrade—with WPA2 / AES enabled, the wifi performance is actually worse than my old Time Capsule.
With my 450 / 20 mbps internet connection I ran repeated tests with Speedtest.net. I was never able to get better than 350 mbps with the ASUS AC1300 router. My old Apple router, by contrast, turns in 450 mbps fairly consistently. I also timed the transmission of a 4.2gb file from one Macbook to another. Old time capsule router: 1 minute 20 seconds. ASUS AC1300: 1 minute 30 seconds.
One other minor complaint: the out of the box language was set to Mandarin (I believe). It was a bit confusing to make it through the initial setup steps to be able to gain access to the main control panel to change the language to English. Not a big deal—but not a great first impression.
(After some experimentation, I noticed that if I disabled encryption, the ASUS router would test at 450 mbps. Encryption does add some overhead. The fact that the ASUS router takes such a performance hit with encryption enabled suggests to me that its processor is a bit underpowered. If your internet connection is slower than 350 mbps you probably won't notice much of a difference. If your internet is faster than 350 mbps I'd suggest looking into another router.)

VPNが設定できる安いルータということで購入しました。
短いLANケーブルは付属品についていました。
無線LANルータという名称ですが、WANポートの他に有線LANポートも4つついています。
私は無線LANは使わないので設定で切りました。
配線を接続して、ブラウザから192.168.50.1に接続すると、ログインを求められます。
付属の説明書の画像を見るとログイン名がadminなのはわかるのですが、初期パスワードは書いてありません。
本体の裏にPasswordと書いてあるものがあったので入力してみると、入れない。
空欄でもだめ。
型番やシリアルナンバーなど入れているうちに5回間違いということで、5分待つように言われる。
配線を元に戻してネットでパスワードを調べると、adminとのこと。
再び配線をし直してadmin/adminと入力するとようやくログインできました。
VPNの設定は別途準備しておいた.ovpnファイルをVPNクライアント設定画面でアップロードして有効ボタンを押すだけで簡単にVPN接続になりました。
通信速度ですが、生100Mbps弱、PC設定VPN接続90Mbps弱に対し、ルータ設定VPN接続は20Mbps程度でした。
PCほど強力な処理能力がないため、やはり通信速度は落ちます。
ですが、大量のデータをやり取りしなければ、普通にネットサーフィンする程度なら遅くてイライラすることはありません。
設定画面から簡単にVPNの有効／無効を切り替えられるので、負荷がかかる通信をする時はPC本体でVPN設定すればいいと思います。
とにかく設定は簡単ですが、初期パスワードぐらい説明書に書いておいてほしいと思いました。

Wifi keeps dropping!!!!
At first i thought it was a good router. Signal is strong on both the 2ghz and 5ghz. Then i started noticing that the wifi keeps dropping. Performed firmware upgrades and changed settings. Wifi still drops every now and then for about a minute then comes back up. The router is good.......when the wifi is working but it gets really annoying when the wifi starts dropping. It is a known/common issue with this router and i have yet to find a fix that works. I might just end up buying a different router. I do not recommend this router!!!!

4世帯のアパートでインターネット環境をサービスで提供したいという希望があり
なるべく安いWiFiルータがいいということでこちらの製品を導入しました
主にRT-AC68Uを使ってきたため価格的に半分ほどなので期待してなかったが
機能的にもRT-AC68Uとそれほどの差もなく2階建ての各世帯で全く問題なく使えました
USBストレージの共有もできるし、VPNにも対応してるし、セキュリティ機能もある
WiFi接続で大元のルータに接続時下り120Mで、本製品のWiFiに接続したら105~110M
多少は落ちるが問題のないレベルです
コスパ最高だと思う
安定性と耐久性はまだわからないので星４つにしてます

WI-FI COVERAGE POOR!
I didn’t bother with Tech-support because this has the poorest Wi-Fi signal I’ve ever seen. I’m returning it. The real issue was it kept bumping us off the Internet. I could hook back up and it would kick me right back off. It was a complete waste of my time. So as I said I’m returning this because there was no way I was going to keep this even if tech-support could have helped me get it set so it would quit bumping me off the Internet. I couldn’t even use it in my tiny little house because the Wi-Fi has such a poor signal. Don’t let the four antennas fool you it does not have very good Wi-Fi coverage. I didn’t rate tech-support because I didn’t use it. The product was so crappy on wi-Fi coverage I sent it back.

数か月前に購入いたしました。
購入理由は、プロバイダーを変更した際に、以前使用していたルーターが、機能しなくなってしまい、悩んだ末にルーター交換を試みました。
製品の印象としては、薄くて高級感のある感じで、、部屋に置いていても違和感を感じません。また、壁に縦置き設置できるので、場所も取りません。
この辺りは、わたしは置くスペースあるので問題ではなかったですがｗ。
設置後起動させての感想ですが、他の方も書かれていますが。若干電波？が弱い感じがしました。
２階全部をフルカバーするのは厳しいかと思います。
ただ、まったく届かないわけではないので、使用目的によっては問題ない範囲かな。
設定自体は非常に簡単ですぐに使用できるようになりました。
先に書いたプロバイダー変更に伴う不具合も全くなく、安定しております。
PC自体はLANでつなげているので、Wi-Fiは主にサブPCとスマホでの使用になっています。
ゲームもWi-Fiとなると上位機種が欲しいところですね。
ASUS様には色々信頼を置いているので、（決して回し者でなく素直な感想）購入してよかったと思っています。
今後は上位機種も欲しいと思っています。

A Great Wireless Router
We have 2 issues in our home with wireless. First, its a rather long house and our internet connection is at one end making it difficult to get a signal at the other end. Second, we have gigabit Ethernet and our existing router while claiming to support these high speeds falls significantly short. Since our home supports multiple IP leases, I plugged this router into a separate port on the model and did side by side test.
First, the MIMO aspect of this router enabled a usable signal at the far end of the house. Now we don't have to use repeaters to extend the range. Second, the buffering on this box is much better than the older router because connections are much quicker with latency being smaller and throughput is much smoother and not nearly as choppy for those high res videos.
I fully recommend this router if you need a new or replacement. I have not fully gone through all the features yet, but the GUI seems to support a wide range of features ranging from firewall support, port routing, game box support, DMZ, QOS management and parental control. I'll definitely buy one of these again if required.

鉄筋コンクリートの安賃貸マンションの1階テナントと2階住居を借りています。
ネット環境は1階に引き込み、2階には窓の隙間用ケーブルなどで屋外経由で配線してます。
古いバッファローのルータと交換する為に購入。
2階とも無線5Gでの接続を少し期待していましたが、5Gはやはり届きませんでした。
中継機なども試しましたが、2.4Gはなんとか繋がりますが有線には及びません。
管理用アプリなどはマニアックで好みですね。

It's ASUS, it's cheap, and it has more gain than any other router in its class. Buy it!
Is this as good as the RT-AC68U? No.
Is it better than pretty much anything else? Yes.
Is it half the price of the competing LinkSys? YES.
This thing punches through walls like nothing else. You'd have to be living in a Faraday cage for this not to work. It also runs ASUS's OS which is nice. It cannot run DD_WRT or Merlin, so you don't get the advanced features like VPN, but the hardware is capable. And there's at least one aftermarket OS that will run, although I haven't checked it out yet.
Worked great for the application I needed, and it was like $75. Easy choice. ASUS rocks.

WAN側以外に、有線４本接続可能。
接続後に初期設定をすると使用可能です。
公式ホームページで見れるpdfのマニュアルは付属せず、簡易マニュアルのみ入っています。
簡易マニュアルには初期IDのみでパスワードが書いていないため、初期設定が出来ず。
初期パスワードもIDと一緒ということが、公式でしか見れないマニュアルにのみ書いてあり、これに気付くまでかなり時間がかかりました。
（ちゃんとしたマニュアルがあることも分からないし、検索だとなかなか出てこない）
それが分かっていれば１５分もかからず設定できると思います。
使い始めてから１ヶ月ほど経ちますが、それ以外は特に問題なく使用。
USBメモリを使うと簡易的なNASのような使い方もできます。
試しにUSBメモリをさしたところ、頻繁にアクセスしているようでLED付きのメモリだと常にちかちか光っています。メモリの耐久性が大丈夫か心配なので使用はやめました。
尚、他レビューだと固定のような書き方ですが、ファームウェアのアップデートで対応したのかIDの変更は可能です。

Don't buy this router. I could not find any good point about this router.
Cons:
- Slow speeds
- Old openvpn firmware even after update
- Only Japanese menu
- No custom firmware available
- Bad hardware
- Extremely slow speeds using it as an access points.
- Bad signal
- Expensive for what it can deliver. TPlink routers are way better.

長い事プロバイダ貸与のADSLモデムに内蔵の無線LAN（PCカードを挿すと使えるようになるやつ）で凌いでいましたが、今更ながら色々無理が来たのとあと数年？の延命として購入、無線部分はこちらに置き換えました。
WAN側がADSLで頭打ちにつき速さは余り求めていません。
初期設定状態ではセグメントも違っているし説明書にはWAN側が光？のみ書かれているようで、セッティングでハマるかな…と覚悟していましたが、ポン付けのまま使えていい意味で拍子抜けです。
有線接続対象がNASなど含めて3～4台で、ちょうど身の丈に合っています。
速度や安定性も、今のところ問題を感じるような動きはありません。
総合評価も問題なし…としたいところですが、よりにもよって届いた直後に千円以上値下がりしたため流石に星を減らします...。

USBにてモバイルWi-Fiやアンドロイド携帯を利用できる
デュアル WANで毎度の作業はUSB繋いで携帯のUSBデザリング設定のみ。
RT-AC1200HPのカスタムファームを使用中でWireless ISPを利用できるのだが設定に入りSSIDスキャンが必要で切り替えるのが面倒だった
2.4GHzのアンテナが４本出ている本機なら有線接続の楽な場所に設置できるかも
設定画面の選択が2.4と5GHzの切り替えの様にあちこち見つけにくい忘れやすい。
ACアダプターが不良だったりダイソーで買った２ｍ２００円のタイプＣケーブルが裏にしたら通信できなかったりしたがポートは一つなのにUSBドライブなら２台、プリンタ繋いだら1台とか安いのに楽しい機械ですよ
追記
USBデザリング(oppo a5 2020)を付け足せた。Rakuten UN-LIMITで10ギガ使った日もADSLに+3Mbps。
早くはならない。申し訳ないです。
10ギガ使い切ったらUSB抜くまで３Ｍbps。
分散はWANを振り分け使用するもので合計ではなく振り分け。
速度計測サイトで遅い回線側を割り当てられていることがある。
ルーティング設定できる。
フェイルオーバー(切換)にしフェールバックの設定にて
検出５秒ごと４回だと２０秒かかるので１回にしたら携帯の画面をすぐ消灯しても接続済みになりました。
説明書に無いので書き込んだけどデュアルWANで検索してASUSのページ見てください。
放置してたUSB2.0ハブにUSBメモリとUSBデザリングで使用中。
デュアル WANで毎度の作業はUSB繋いで携帯のUSBデザリング設定のみ。
RT-AC1200HPのカスタムファームを使用中でWireless ISPを利用できるのだが設定に入りSSIDスキャンが必要で切り替えるのが面倒だった
2.4GHzのアンテナが４本出ている本機なら有線接続の楽な場所に設置できるかも
設定画面の選択が2.4と5GHzの切り替えの様にあちこち見つけにくい忘れやすい。
ACアダプターが不良だったりダイソーで買った２ｍ２００円のタイプＣケーブルが裏にしたら通信できなかったりしたがポートは一つなのにUSBドライブなら２台、プリンタ繋いだら1台とか安いのに楽しい機械ですよ
追記
USBデザリング(oppo a5 2020)を付け足せた。Rakuten UN-LIMITで10ギガ使った日もADSLに+3Mbps。
早くはならない。申し訳ないです。
10ギガ使い切ったらUSB抜くまで３Ｍbps。
分散はWANを振り分け使用するもので合計ではなく振り分け。
速度計測サイトで遅い回線側を割り当てられていることがある。
ルーティング設定できる。
フェイルオーバー(切換)にしフェールバックの設定にて
検出５秒ごと４回だと２０秒かかるので１回にしたら携帯の画面をすぐ消灯しても接続済みになりました。
説明書に無いので書き込んだけどデュアルWANで検索してASUSのページ見てください。
放置してたUSB2.0ハブにUSBメモリとUSBデザリングで使用中。

古くなったルータからの変更目的で購入。
既存のルータ、モデムの電源を落として、商品を接続、起動し、スマホでつなげようと思ったらオープンで無線LANが解放されており、有線で繋げたPCでも同様の現象。
取説では初期設定画面が出るはずが、そうではなかったため取説に従い管理画面に行く。ログインIDとパスワードを聞かれるがデフォルトのIDとパスの記載はどこにもない。
このためサポートに電話することに。無事に教えてもらえたが、会社は台湾のため、オペレーターも多分台湾の人。会話ができないことはないが、聞き直しが多いなど多少のもどかしさはあり。
最近の製品や本商品の初期設定がオープンでwifiが解放される仕組みなのかわからないが、これまで初期からパスワード設定付きが当たり前だった自分にはセキュリティ面で不安があったため、セキュリティ項目は☆3
その他は問題ないうえに、3LDK用と範囲が広いため、以前のルータではアンテナ1だったところが3になり満足なため、全体評価は星4です。
ただし、ルータの多くが縦置きで省スペースな一方、本商品は横置きかつ送信アンテナを4本立てるため、設置スペースには注意が必要です。（購入前から設置スペースは考慮していたため、私の評価からは対象外の項目）

ネットに加入した際にNTT？から貰ったWiFIモデムを使っていました。
しかし遠い部屋だと速度が出ないのでこちらの製品を購入。
設定を終えて件のルーター設置箇所から遠い部屋に行くと、なんとまず電波が届かない。
パソコンはASUSの電波ではなく元のNTTのルーターに繋げてしまう（NTTのものしか届かないため）。
遠くまで届く、速度が出るのが売りなんじゃないんですか...？
しかし遠い部屋だと速度が出ないのでこちらの製品を購入。

以前こちらでRT-AC85Uを自宅用に購入し、大変よかったので実家のネットワーク環境の見直しのため、こちらを購入しました。
実家は自宅に比べて接続するデバイスの数も少ないため、これで十分でした。
とにかく安くなっていますので、4台程度の接続・木造二階建てであればこれで何も問題ありません。
※注意
現在、ファームウェアアップデートがスマホのアプリからは行えなくなっています。(ファームウェアを公開しているASUSのサイト側のセキュリティの形式を変えたためだそうです)
面倒ですが一度ASUSのサポートサイト上からファームウェアをダウンロードし、PCからアップデートする必要があります。
一度更新した後はスマホから問題なくアップデートできるようです。
セキュリティ脆弱性の修正なので、アップデートしないで使うのはリスクがあるので、面倒でもやるべきです。

NUROのONUを無線親機として利用していましたが、二階の角部屋など電波が届きにくく無線機器(10台以上)が増えて不安定になってきた為購入しました。
購入後、設置位置などを工夫しましたがあまり効果は無くたまに接続が切れてしまったりと不安定な状態になることが多いです。
少し期待はずれでした。

IoT対応品が我が家を汚染しはじめたのでお手頃金額のものを購入しました。
購入の際に重要視したのは電波の届く範囲です。

購入当初は速度も早く満足していたのですが、
最近は数日に一度の頻度でネットに繋がらなくなるようになりました。
ルーターを再起動するまで使えなくなるので、とても不便です。
【追記】
ファームウェアアップデート後に動作が不安定になった気がして、
ファームウェアを購入時の物に戻した所、ネット切断が起きなくなりました。

Customer service doesn't know what they are doing when it comes to providing service or resolving issues.
I got this router about a month ago with the original release firmware. Then I decided to upgrade it because of a notification that there was an upgrade available. When I upgraded it the web UI was missing links and the only solution when I called customer service was to downgrade to the original firmware(which apparently had security vulnerabilities). Functionality seems to be intact but the links are all gone and so I have to bookmark the page just to be able to get to the same features. I downloaded the PDF manual to see if these features should have been included, because when I go to the website none of these features are even mentioned and when you look at the manual they show screenshots of a different router with a different firmware version from before the initial release of this router and so I don't even know if that's accurate. When I call customer service they don't know what to tell me, aside from "look at the specifications page" or "the information should be there on the product page," I'm checking while on the phone and it is not. They don't even bother to look at their own website's product page to see they are wrong.
I get more information from review sites and Amazon than the manufactures website, how sad is that?
The problem is that the router itself works well and is easy to setup for VPN. I also directly connected my laptop to my modem then through the router and there is no difference in speed test even with NAT, which is a first for me with a budget router.
I like the device, I just wish they would fix the bugs more frequently(update firmware more than once in almost 2 years), keep their site up-to-date, and have customer service people that can do something other than read from a manual on what to tell customers(especially if what they are telling them is incorrect).

入替えて以降、不安定になること無く、買ってよかったです。
