I bought this monitor from Box.co.uk thinking it was curved as described. IT IS NOT! (After speaking to one of their sales team, they do not have curved monitors and it was described wrongly) I sent the monitor back via their courier service (DPD) and they have now mislaid the monitor.

Thankfully I have a DPD receipt for the pick-up but am still waiting for my refund from Box and I bought it over a week ago.

I got this as a general purpose monitor - something I could use for my home office (i.e. work from home) as well as for occasional gaming. When I set it up I spent hours trying to figure out why all the text looked blurry only to find others' reviews complaining about the same nuisance - turns out VA panels (specifically ones made by Samsung, at the least) are pretty crappy when it comes to crispy text due to subpixel layout. Apparently most people do not notice it but for me it felt like my eye balls were going to rupture after 15 minutes of using this screen. Everything just felt very "soft" and blurry.

Perhaps this is the perfect monitor for gaming but is definitely not suitable for anything else, including general use. If you're planning to use it at all for general/office use I'd strongly encourage you to go into a store and see this monitor in person to ensure that you're OK with the blurry text. I've exchanged this for an IPS panel of same size/resolution and couldn't be happier.

Upgraded from 2 1080p monitors to 2 of these.

Picture quality is excellent.
Minimal tweaking of settings to get them to run at 144hz.
Great for gaming or just generally having things look better and smoother.

Initially had an issue with one of the screen's going black for a second or so every now and then, this was most likely due to me using HDMI and Displayport inputs at the same time, (one for each monitor) after switching to Displayport for both screen's this issue has not returned.

Very good monitor, I don’t normally write reviews but this one deserves it. Usually I find myself going through reviews before I purchase anything so hopefully I can help the next person because this is an expensive purchase and it’s hard to commit when reading mixed opinions.

That being said, this monitor is definitely worth the money FOR GAMING. If you’re looking for top notch picture quality and color for editing videos photos and you’re just in it for the bigger screen etc etc; then u can probably spend your money better elsewhere.

But as far as gaming goes.. this is the right purchase. 144hz Ultrawide 3440x1440 1ms rt, you can’t beat the price. Any other monitor with the same specs will be way more expensive and even if it is a bit better in other areas you won’t notice the difference.

Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a more immersive experience. 10/10

The monitor is great and a great value for the price. It has a lot of features and plenty of connectors. However, to use it properly you need some support. And from the support point of view it sucks!
For instance, I am using a Mac and the driver CD that comes with the monitor has only a PC version of the driver. Nothing for Mac. You may think; ok I'll go to the AOC website and get one.
Wrong!! The website is not working, or non existant. Neither Safari nor Chrome can find it.
I don't know if it is a temporary thing but it definitely does not work. Awkward!
Ah! I forgot if you want to use it with your mac you need a video type-c connector.
The monitor comes with a couple of HDMI cables. So you definitely need an adaptor to use it with the Type-C connectors of a new MacBook Pro.

The monitor overall itself looks great with an excellent picture quality for a VA panel. Color accuracy isn’t the best but it is decent, as well with good response times. There is a lot of black smearing and a bit of ghosting with medium overdrive setting, with the highest setting making it look unbearable. The menu navigating buttons are honestly terrible and should have been updated with a joystick like most modern monitors nowadays. Now for the biggest issue I’ve had with this monitor and lots of other people as well when researching on forums such as reddit for example, the freesync implementation is terrible and causes lots of flickering or the monitor just goes black and back on. When using an fps counter such as MSI afterburner or nvida’s , with the monitor’s internal fps counter , the frames never line up or sync together even at <48 fps which was the advertised freesync range. As far as I’m concerned the monitor doesn’t have LFC and this is most likely what causes issues and conflicts when using freesync. If freesync doesn’t matter to you then I can recommend , otherwise I’d stay away until the issue gets resolved as it seems to be a common issue with the monitor itself. For reference I have a 27GL850 with no issues with freesync.

It came very quickly and in great condition. The display itself is amazing. Very clear with very little smudging due to the low response time. Hands down the best monitor I've ever had and cheaper than anything else out there. If you're looking for a 1440p ultrawide gaming monitor and don't have upwards of £550 at hand, this is the monitor for you.

Don't know how or why, but the AOC CU34G2X was advertised at much less than the comparable LG ultrawide only to find out when I checked again the price had basically tripled. So if you can get this at the original price this is a bargain.

The monitor build quality is great and isn't over the top like others with RGB and elaborate cases. The only gripe I really have is the fact that the menu's are driven with the old fashioned side by side button arrangement rather than utilizing a small joystick which would make adjustments much easier. However there is a simple remedy to this and that is to download AOC's g-menu utility from their EU site. Once installed all the monitor tweaks and customizations can be accomplished with the utility. You obviously need to have the monitor plugged into your PC via the provided USB cable, but that's it.
The monitor comes with a really good stand which is spring loaded to go up and down, turn left and right and tilt forward or back. You cannot rotate the screen. It also comes supplied with a display port cable, HDMI 2.1 compliant cable and the previously mentioned USB cable. The back panel offers several USB 3.0 ports as a hub.
Now talking about picture quality and refresh rates, ghosting, etc. is very subjective and I don't have professional tools to really give a data driven review here. I can tell that the very edges have a very small amount of diminished brightness, which is most abundantly noticeable with white background. I have yet to play any games with freesync turned on as I am still building up my Ryzen 9 3900X with 5700 XT card, but the couple of games I played (Control and Assassins Creed) the monitor has met my expectations. There are several customization settings available to fine tune the monitor to RTS, FPS and racing style games and each of them can further be optimized.
All in all this is a great monitor and I can't wait to see when this is first reviewed by one of the big outfits on YT.

Pros:
Sturdy stand, height adjustment and angle adjustment
Nice black levels, good colour reproduction for media consumption
27' is a suitable size
Has build in speakers(don't expect anything decent though)
Thin bezels
144Hz on 1440p
Comes with display port and HDMI cables
Has a headphone jack behind it
Cons:
Lacks monitor rotation
No HDR
Doesn't come with the USB cable for the USB hub so you will need to buy a separate cable if you want to use that
Brightness isn't as high as other monitors, only 250cd, but plenty for indoor use, except when there is direct sunlight
Some response time issue but not too noticable if you turn overdrive to Strong
OSD can be hard to control at times

TLDR; Fantastic monitor, colours as accurate as my previous Samsung panel 10/10 would recommend, only downer would be the low brightness, but if it doesn't bother you, nothing in this monitor would.

UPDATE: After playing a couple games with G-Sync enabled on this monitor I had to lower my review further. With adaptive sync enabled about every 30s this monitor turns OFF and ON, this takes about 2-3s to complete. And on top of that the monitor also has the VA Flickering problem.

Value for the money you would be hard pressed to find something better, aside from the Xiaomi Mi Surface 34", which uses the same exact panel, as does the Nixeus EDG 34. Color, specs, and performance would be equal on those 3 monitors. Only differences would be the OSD (The menu system)

If this monitor didn't cost only $450 I would have returned it by now. I also own the LG 34GK950F, which I paid full msrp for on release, 3x the cost of this monitor, for very similar specs.

Colors are great, not as vibrant as the LG, that is to be expected as the LG has a much wider color gamut at 98% DCI-P3 vs the 94% here. It doesn't seem like a big difference in the numbers but it is a noticeable difference.

Gaming, the display looks great as seen by the Witcher 3 picture above. I suggest turning on HDR Game mode for this particular game, there are a couple other modes such as HDR Picture, HDR Movie. Normally I turn on Fastest overdrive setting in monitors and its usually not too bad, especially with Freesync/Gsync enabled which can minimize the effects of overshoot depending on the monitor. However the Fastest setting on this monitor is unbearable and completely unusable. Medium setting is simply not enough and has a great amount of ghosting sort of like if you turned off overdrive completely on IPS and TN monitors. I can't really comment on black smearing as I haven't tested really dark games and content, but from the little I saw it is there and will depend on how much you're okay with.

Movies/TV content. For Tv shows aka 16:9 content, this display is okay, you'll just get black bars on the side. Tv shows and movies in wider format than 16:9, even content formatted in 21:9? Cannot be displayed fullscreen. There is no scaling or aspect ratio setting that correctly displays 21:9 content fullscreen on this 21:9 display. Check the pictures. You can scale SOME content properly through Windows, software scaling. But the monitor itself cannot.
If you're looking for a monitor that you can hook up a Firestick or Nvidia Shield or Roku to watch content on, this is a dealbreaker. My 18 year old LCD TV has more scaling options than this 2020 Monitor. Btw 1:1 scaling mode is broken and stretches images sideways, see Lost in Space img2. There is a 27" monitor emulation mode. But then you may as well buy a 27" monitor. Not a problem for the LG it had all the aspect ratios you needed and scaled all content very well through the monitor settings.

Buttons, 5 buttons on the bottom, easy to get used to, sucks to use. 5way joystick should be standard in 2020, I can overlook it as a budget monitor.

Blacks, this thing has great blacks, panel uniformity is great on my particular one. No backlight bleed unless looking at the monitor from an off angle, which then you can see there are 4 points of backlight source, 2 on top, 2 on bottom. My LG had minimal backlight bleed that was not noticeable in most content, but was almost unbearable when trying to watch a movie AND IPS Glow was a great issue on bottom left when playing games, even in bright areas. VA panels don't have IPS glow and have minimal backlight bleed so it definitely feels better in this regard.

HDR, kind of a pain to use with this monitor. With the LG HDR was pretty much plug and play like with the Firestick for example. Just turn on HDR in the firestick and the monitor automatically detected HDR and adjusted settings accordingly. With the AOC you have to go into the painful OSD again find the HDR setting and switch it from either DisplayHDR, HDR Picture, HDR Movie, HDR Game. And with those HDR modes on you cannot adjust any settings.

Pros:
Great blacks
Wider color gamut
144hz
3440x1440
No IPS Glow

Cons
Firmware bugs in OSD
Missing Aspect Ratios in OSD
No 5way Joystick
Black smearing
Ghosting (slow pixel response time)
No Gamma Control
No Color Accuracy control

All in all the LG costs twice as much as this AOC monitor and has its own problems with IPS Glow and Backlight bleed, but those issues are attributed to the panel lottery as they say and you may not have those issues. As such if you are looking to just play video games on this monitor, not a bad deal. If you need color accuracy, any sort of calibration, this isn't the monitor to get. If you want to replace your TV and watch movies, do not buy.

Personally for this price, I will keep this monitor, but I will be replacing it with monitors releasing in late 2020.

The package came a little bit damaged as you can see from the photos.
The screen itself is really good and is well built.
You can't see pixels even if the resolution is not a 4k and the screen is huge.
The ultra-wide setup allows you to work on 3 different things all together without moving your head from left to right on different screens.
Good color accuracy (also using this screen for photo retouching and editing).
Really satisfied by the product, worth the price.

I am an average user that has only had basic monitors, but since I built this PC primarily for gaming/part-time productivity and spent so much on it's components I had no choice but to purchase a monitor to match. This was it, and the colors look amazing when compared to a 4yr old Dell that I have dual mounted. I followed a couple different tutorials on how to set this specific monitor up for G-Sync but it does flicker a lot. With G-Sync enabled, the screen would also periodically go black for a few seconds so I had to turn it off. However, I paired it with a 9900K/2080Ti, maxing out frames in almost all games, and I do not experience any screen tearing or notice any type of draw back that makes me regret not buying an officially supported G-Sync monitor.

For the negative side of things, I only had the monitor for two months before it went dead and would not turn on. Just a black screen. I filled out a RMA form and was issued a refurbished monitor in its place, but it took a long time before I received the replacement monitor. From the time I submitted the RMA form to receiving the replacement, almost five weeks had passed. Thankfully I had an old Dell to get me through. The first contact from them only took about 48hrs like their RMA submission form stated, but it took 2 weeks without any form of communication from them and a complaint to Amazon Customer Service before they contacted me to proceed with the RMA. The RMA submission process was very third-rate, in that I felt like I was speaking to someone that was enjoying their meal at a restaurant, and with very little info (and no troubleshooting) was very quick to say that the monitor needed to be returned. The entire time spent on the phone with support was less than two minutes before they determined it was a bad monitor.

I gave four stars because the monitor is really great at a $450 price point, but left off one star because of the lack of communication and lengthy RMA process. So if you're in the market for a new monitor or wanting to purchase your first gaming monitor on a medium budget....this is a really great monitor for that. I honestly would buy again even though the first time around was not perfect.

A great purchase even at its MSRP of 450.00. I'll run through the pros and cons.

Pros
-Adjustability – height, swivel, and tilt - the swivel was the only one that was too resistant, I couldn't swivel it without moving the feet of the base, even though it is capable of rotating a few degrees, but not a big deal for me.
-Curvature – 1500R is a bit more aggressive than the usual 1800R (meaning, 1800mm or 1.8m radius) – for me this works great since the display is so wide on the sides that the more aggressive curvature works better to face the user at a more desirable angle.
-Picture quality – to my everyman’s eye the pictures are fine if oversaturated a little bit. If anyone has the best OSD picture settings suggestions for this display, I’d love your input.
-Adaptive Sync – with my RTX 2070 the G-Sync works flawlessly without any flickering or additional adjustments. The adaptive sync option was enabled out of the box for me.
-144hz Refresh Rate – this is where the display shines for me, coupled with the adaptive sync feature. No more super annoying and horrible looking screen tears while gaming.
-Viewing Angle – the side to side viewing angle is excellent, and with the curved surface area it’s even better, there’s no discernible off-axis desaturation for me.

Cons
-Design – personal preference completely, but I would have liked the design to be more “productivity” based, or more business-like. But the design is not horribly “gamer-y” either.
-OSD – the controls are located toward the bottom right of the frame with five discrete buttons. They are poorly spaced so it’s difficult to distinguish by feel and are very clunky to operate.
-Documentation – I wish the manual contained more information about what each specific setting does. There’s hardly any documentation included, other than the basic setup, which is practically useless.

This is a fantastic display with all its wonderful features, especially at its price point. Just look at the list of pros vs cons. The pros are all the reasons you would choose to get a monitor of this kind.

Now that I’ve experienced 21:9 I cannot go back to 16:9 configuration (as a very, very casual gamer). The ultra-wide orientation is also great for video editing. The only thing I would wish for is now for the monitor to get larger in size at a similar price point. Highly recommended.

My Specs
Ryzen 7 3700x
32GB Corsair Vengeance 3200Hz RAM
Gigabyte RTX 2070
Asus TUF X570

This is a great monitor for close to its RRP, the issue is that it isn't at its RRP often. Most of the bad reviews are because the customer received the wrong monitor and aren't reflective of the product. I had an LG 2560x1080 144hz IPS and this monitor subjectively is better than that for color reproduction, couple that with the better resolution and it is a winner.
The downside of this monitor is that in some reviews the panels pixel response time means that it cant achieve a true 144hz but is actually around 120hz. My graphics card is struggling to get above 100 fps in most game with this screen anyway. I feel an upgrade coming on!!

I got this monitor back in January 2020, and it worked fine for my needs. It wasn't the best picture, but for the price it was pretty nice. Then today I come home from work and turn on my PC. My old Dell monitor from 2004 came on like a champ. This piece of junk came on, as in the backlight came on and it showed it was powered on, but no menu functions work, no input source works, I couldn't even get the crosshair to show. Basically it doesn't show a picture or any onscreen menus. It still detects signals on the cables, and can tell when the computer puts the monitor to sleep or wakes it up, but it won't show anything.

Update: My monitor is currently being RMA'd. I will update my review to take this into account once I get a working monitor into my hands.

I will speak about my warranty experience so far. It's really not bad at all. Unfortunately the original box got thrown away by a family member without me knowing, so it made me get creative on how to send it back. I have had to have a laptop repaired from dell several years ago, and they sent a box to me for shipping. I wish AOC did that, but I also understand. Big difference between 2,000 laptop and this very nicely priced monitor.

This review is for the 34" CU34G2X UltraWide QHD 3440x1440 monitor. Used for about a week before writing this.

This is the best monitor I've ever seen with my own eye's! The curve is perfect, not too much, not too little. It's really immersive for gaming in particular. And for reading online and working for long durations the curve still looks great and is not distracting.

Looks amazing on its own, even without content! Solid metal stand and wide metal feet. Very sturdy. The metal feet have lots of solid, grippy rubber pads on them so it stays right where you put it. The screen isn't too glossy or too matte. The red trim is well placed and not over done. It looks very modern and professional, but still calls attention to itself like a gaming monitor should!

Refresh rate does indeed go up to 144hz no problem in games and in Windows 10. Color reproduction is really good to my eyes. They include a printed sheet with the color calibration results for your specific monitor with serial number, so AOC really is going the extra mile to prove that these really are high-end monitors.

This is a super low latency "VA" type panel. So it is the best looking panel type from a technical and color reproduction perspective. IPS panels traditionally had lower refresh rates than VA panels, but this monitor proves you can have the best looking VA panel type, AND super low 1ms refresh rates.

Games look amazing in the ultra-wide format. Halo on PC for example actually gives you a full field of view with this monitor, same with Rocket League. So you do actually get an advantage in some games. You literally can see more of the field of play with the ultra-wide aspect ratio 21:9, than anyone else stuck on the 16:9 ratio that most 1080p or 4k monitors use.

Brightness is great, even too bright at highest settings unless your in a really bright room. So that's nice to have if it's needed. All brightness and contrast settings and even gaming profiles are adjustable through physical buttons under the monitor, but also through the G-menu software. So using the G-menu software you don't need to fiddle with the physical controls of the monitor at all to fully adjust and control the monitors settings. G-menu even has hot-keys so you can change your monitor settings to different profiles almost instantly. You can download the G-menu software from AOC's support website.

Make sure to use the included DisplayPort cable with this monitor. The HDMI ports don't have the same capabilities as the DisplayPort connectors. To get freesync, 144hz, and native 3440x1440 resolution all together; you MUST use either of the two DisplayPort connectors on this monitor. AND make sure your not just converting from HDMI at the source to DisplayPort. The source signal from your PC also needs to be DisplayPort.

There is also a usb3.0 cable included. You can use it to hook it to your computer, then you can use the monitor as a USB 3.0 hub. Power Delivery is off by default on the USB 3.0 ports, but you can enable it via the monitors settings menu, or through the G-menu software.

Amazing monitor, highly recommended.

Pros:
- That price! $450 for these specs is a steal.
- 3440 x 1440 resolution at 144hz is absolutely stunning. The added screen real estate in games and desktop use is phenomenal.
- Freesync appears to work almost flawlessly in most games tested I have tested.
- This monitor comes calibrated from the factory, and AOC even includes a calibration report. Mine was calibrated in SRGB mode, which I would assume most others will be as well. They claim delta E's under 3, averaging 0.51. I don't have the gear to test this claim, but by eye it appears to be very accurate.
- The contrast is about where you would expect a VA panel to be, which is always good.
- Gets plenty bright for those of us who like to use their computers in bright rooms.
- This monitor shows up as having 10 bit color depth, though it is potentially 8 bit with dithering (which is still great).
- Great uniformity. There are no issues with grey uniformity and the screen brightness is very uniform.
- More options than most monitors! Always good to see.
- If you like black frame insertion, this monitor has it.
- Setting up the stand only requires 1 screw and it attaches to the monitor tool-less.
- Has all of the useful adjustments you would want in a monitor.
- Standard AC power cord! By all means, this is a minor point, but it's a very nice convenience.
- Basic HDR support is technically a pro.

Cons:
- HDR support on this monitor doesn't do much, 400 nits isn't terribly bright for HDR, there's no local dimming and Windows support is terrible. Maxing the brightness will probably give you a less buggy experience than what HDR adds.
- Black uniformity, while better than most monitors (especially curved ones), does still have a very small amount of clouding mostly around the left and right edges of the display.
- Response times. I don't consider myself someone who notices ghosting much, but I can notice some of it on this monitor. Setting the overdrive to medium gets rid of most of it, though if you're more sensitive to ghosting you will likely still notice it. Setting overdrive to strong will give you overshoot, but not as much ghosting.
- AOC's decision to continue to use 4 buttons along the bottom of the display for the OSD is extremely unfortunate. A joystick would have been far better. You can somewhat circumvent it by downloading the G-Menu software from their website, but you shouldn't have to install software to change settings easily.
- The construction is mostly plastic. I don't think this a deal breaker, and it feels sturdy by plastic standards, but it is worth mentioning.
- Viewing angles aren't as good as an IPS display if you frequently work off-center or have a multi-monitor setup.
- BFI noticeably dims the monitor, and it cannot be used with adaptive sync. If you would like both of these features, the ASUS VG27AQ allows this, though that display is not an ultrawide.

The monitor is very responsive the 144Hz and 1440p is a huge upgrade from my 24" LG 1080p 75hz monitor. Even though the LG monitor was an IPS and this one is a TN I would say it's better in every way than my old monitor a bit more expensive then my old one by about 200£ but worth it. Pros:
1. Great price (~$430 when I bought) for a curved 34" 3440x1440 144hz 1ms monitor.
2. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the stand. Better stand than most monitors at this price point.

Cons:
1. As many others have observed, some games have flickering with adaptive sync turned on. My flickering issues were resolved by switching to a 1.4 VESA certified DisplayPort cable and capping the H-Rate at 215hz. Not a big deal, as 1.4 VESA DP cables are only like $10-15.
2. AOC says this is 300 nits brightness but it's not. It appears to be in the mid-200s at best.
3. I had a dead green subpixel out of the box. I'm not going to bother returning it (and I'm not sure I'd even be able to), but I'm very disappointed at the quality control for a monitor that costs almost half a grand.

Wow... wow wow wow. Ever since I first switched to flat screen panels, I've always felt like they can never live up to the color reproduction or clarity of my old Sony Trinitron. It was a giant white plastic cube with flat glass that felt like it weighed more than I did, but that monitor has always been the gold standard for me. No flat screen I've used since has been able to match it. This is the first time a flat screen monitor hasn't left me feeling like the game I'm playing would have looked better on that Trinitron. This is also my first experience with a VA panel, or with a monitor this large in general, but I am honestly shocked by the quality of the image this monitor produces.

You definitely need a video card with sufficient power and memory to get this monitor to do 144 hz.. I am using an 8-year old GTX 680 lightning and while it is still a capable card in some respects (I use it for an oculus rift with no problems) its 2Gb of VRAM lack the memory bandwidth required to push 3440 x 1440 at 144 hz. No worries here though, because I'm upgrading my card to a new Radeon 5700 xt with the money i saved by buying this direct from Amazon. (Amazon is the only retailer not price gouging and sells this monitor for 459$ when they have it in stock so be patient!)

I will update my review after testing it with my new card because reviewing it without testing 144 hz at 1440 is premature, but right now I couldn't be happier. It's nice to be bottlenecked by my system for once.

Considering your monitor is the peripheral that you spend all your time starting at, it should be as robust as the system you're pairing it with. This is my dream monitor and it feels good just looking over and seeing it on my desk even when it's turned off. I'm surprised no one has mentioned how classy and solid the stand seems or how clean the overall styling of the monitor itself is. The legs are a work of art and the stand goes up and down so smoothly.. it's impressively easy to lift up and down considering the weight of the monitor. This thing is far better engineered than the Asus, Dell or ViewSonic flatscreen monitors I've used in the past.

Contrary to what I read in the reviews prior to my purchase, I was pleasantly surprised by the out of box settings. I thought I would have to tweak it a lot after reading the other reviews. This might only apply to the 34-inch version of this monitor since it's the flagship, and might be finer tuned than the other panels during production. It also arrived just as promised with no dead pixels.. and I love that the company offers a 3-year guarantee on that. Though I doubt I'll ever have to use it.

I mentioned this above, but it's worth noting you can get this monitor for way less than the 900$ currently being demanded by some retailers. I think the high number of people stuck at home during quarantine upgrading their toys is driving prices up.. after almost buying this for 900$ I kept checking and sure enough Amazon got a couple in stock the other night for $459. They also had a few of the 32 inch non-curved displays for 259 but I went ahead and splurged. My wife gave me permission cuz it's my anniversary present... She's the best. Amazon shipped it to my door in just a couple days and I couldn't be happier.

*Edit after upgrade to 5700 xt* 5/19/2020

Holy moly I'm in love with this monitor. The colors are wonderful and I can finally push this monitor to it's full 144 hz in a lot of games. It's worth noting a lot of older games don't scale to ultrawide very easily but if you mod Skyrim it's amazing to behold in 3440 x 1440.. especially at 144 hz. If you can get this monitor without being price gouged, jump on it.

I ordered the 34" 3440x1440 144hz model, and after reading other reviews I had concerns about receiving the right model. When it showed up it was the correct model with no dead pixels or other issues. The AOC G-Menu software is pretty bad but I only used it to set the correct refresh rate. HDR is basically unusable, and it takes a bit of time to tweak the display. It came with both a UK and US power cable, and both an HDMI and DP cable.

If you want HDR look elsewhere. If you want a 144hz ultrawide at 1440p, get this one.

AOC CU34G2X 34" Curved For gaming, this monitor rocks. Alot of games support 3440x1440. World of Warcraft/Warships, Division, Wildlands, etc. The features for this price point are impossible to find elsewhere...maybe a few more years and others will start coming down in price. Viewing the monitor at 3 feet or more, the curve is kind of annoying. But at 2 Feet and closer, it feels like it makes sense. I ran a free web based monitor test, and so far, all pixels are good and response times are as expected. I'm ok with the stock color settings. I'm keeping the original packing materials in case anything goes wrong and I need to rely on the manufacturer warranty.

Mounting the base to the neck can be done with hand tightening nuts they include on the base. Mounting the monitor to the neck didn't require any tools. Super easy set-up.

For comparison in the photo, the monitor next to it in the photo is a 24" 1920x1080 Acer.

I enabled G-Sync and the adaptive sync appears to be working. To see the monitors resolution and refresh rates, navigate to the "extra" menu selection. I can see that "Adaptive-Sync" is set for V.Frequency. On an ASUS ROG SWIFT 27 144hz monitor, i only need to click the menu button to see the details, without having to navigate to a different menu area. ** Update: Although the Adaptive Sync is enabled, I can see that the refresh rate doesn't quite compare to normal G-Sync. If you are expecting super smooth and clear visuals with fast movements, recommend getting a real G-Sync monitor if you can afford it. ***

The monitor controls are clumsy, but workable.

Item arrived in perfect condition and came factory calibrated with a detailed sheet. It comes included with all the cables that you need for it to operate. No dead pixels or screen bleed.Upgraded from a Samsung 27" CFG70 1080p 144hz monitor. Blacks are deep and impressive compared to my previous monitor. The OSD is kinda clunky but I don't need to change anything so i won't knock it for that fault. It's Huge!1500R is very noticable vs 1800R curvature and more immersive. I got lucky and bought it here from Amazon at MSRP, don't buy it for anything higher then $449.00! I had to check consistently for two days and eventually caught it, and they sellout really fast. Don't give up hope if you really want the item. It's well worth it, especially for it's price!

I work from home and needed a monitor that would also work well for gaming. This was one of the few 144 Hz, 1440p monitors that I could find. Stack that on top of AOC's no dead pixel guarantee, adaptive sync, and the $450 price tag, this thing looked irresistible. When I got it set up, I immediately noticed that it had a yellow tint to it and was dreading the return. It was right next to two other monitors and was pretty dang noticeable. After playing with the settings a bit, I got the yellow tint to go away. It's won't get bright as my other monitors but the maximum brightness level is perfect in my opinion. Also, adaptive sync works perfectly with NVIDIA cards. Games are buttery smooth, I couldn't be happier.

These are the settings I changed:

Contrast: 50
Brightness: 100
Eco Mode: Standard
Gamma: Gamma2
DCR: OFF
HDR Mode: Off

Color Setup:

While I am not much a gamer, I do appreciate a good display, especially a moving one. Getting into 3440x1440@144Hz has been a whole new ball game of getting the right ports, right cables along with KVM switches and cheap usb-c hubs (and even pricer ones) that can't pull those specs, that came as surprise. I ended up connecting my Lenovo X1 Extreme (Gen 1) with a usb-c to display port cable, plugged directly into the laptop usb-c port which got me all 144Hz.

Coming from a 16:9 1080p @ 60 Hz monitor, this is night and day, so much more real estate (more then double the pixels) and so much smoother.

The game I did play with this monitor was buying it. I got one for $449 in July 2020. It seems that when amazon is the seller they where selling for either $439 or $449. However they where rarely in stock. Due to value of this monitor 3rd party sellers seem to be in stock since they are selling with their best prices around $560-$580. Even saw a used one go up in the high $400s and get snatched within hours. For me once I decided to go with this monitor I just kept a tab open on my browser, hit refresh thought the day (once every 30min-1hr), be ready to hit that buy now button when the price drops it will not last long. On one of those price drops I paused to long and the stock was gone by the time I hit the Buy It Now button. When it say "hurry only 3 left in stock" they are not kidding. I eventually got it caught the price drop on another day, smashed the buy it now button, 2 days later I was in business.

I rarely give negative reviews, but I never was able to get this monitor to work for more than a few minutes. It arrived on time and very well packaged in foam, looked like it was factory new. I was eager to use it as it comes with 2 Display Port Inputs; unusual for this type of monitor. I have 3 machines, two with Display Ports and one Hdmi. It worked right out of the box for 10 minutes using Display Ports. When I attempted to switch over to my Windows 10 Tower, Hdmi 1.4 with the OSD, it went downhill fast from there. The OSD menu is a horizontal strip along the bottom of the screen using left and right arrow to navigate and up and down to select. That in itself is not a problem except that the menu buttons are tiny and slightly recessed behind the lower front bezel edge. I struggled to use the buttons with my fat fingers and had to increase the timeout and still had some difficulty navigating the menu. I spent enough time that it should have gotten easier with familiarity, but it remained clumsy and unwieldy. I hesitate to make a big deal out of it, but I've used dozens of monitors, some more user-friendly than others and never had this much trouble. If everything else was working it would not have been a problem as once it's all set up, you probably would not need it to use the Menu except to switch inputs. Because of the problem I was having, I spent some time trying in vain to switch to HDMI when finally I couldn't get a menu screen at all. I suspect that it may be some OSD setting about DDC/CI or hardware that may be simple to fix. with 20/20 hindsight I should have used the Factory HDMI cable before returning it. but there is no good reason to be totally locked out from the OSD Menu as it never has been a problem with any other monitor, so I decided that for this reason alone I didn't want to mess with it. To have this occur right out of the box is probably rare and it did start out just fine, so there's no reason to assume that this product would not work well for a majority of users.
The specs for this monitor are really good, and I suspect that if used with Display Port on a single PC, it should work out well for gaming. I never got that far as the HDMI was inconsistent, and with the on/off LED indicator lit, (i.e. the monitor is powered on), and three active inputs, when I tried to switch between the them, the menu screen would not come up at all and I was unable to use the monitor with a blank screen with no way to access the menu. Now the Display Ports are also down. Recall that it did work for a while. The picture was good and I was pleased for as long as it lasted, before I started having problems. My Hdmi cables were labeled 4k cables I bought at Best Buy so I assumed they were OK so I didn't use the cable that came with the monitor, as mine worked fine with the same setup on another 21:9 monitor. That I could not get access to the OSD menu is a sure indication that the monitor is not recognizing the HDMI input. No input signal, no OSD. No OSD no way to switch input back to a working display port, Catch 22! I believe this to be a design flaw in the menu system that could be averted by having a little red reset button providing a means of mechanically resetting the system to a workable default state. A real manual with enough information to avoid trouble would be nice.
I tried all the usual steps to breath some life into it, Power cycle, check cables with another monitor etc. Power PC's off/on. Nothing to be done. Dead in the water. Bad cable? Maybe something to do with DDC/CI but at this stage you absolutely must be able to use the menu, again, Catch 22! I've used a lot of devices that got poor ratings from others, where they were 5 stars for me. Certainly not all the same products will be unusable. This is the first time in twenty years of online purchases that I've had a fatal failure, so I consider myself fortunate and am not upset. Because I had a problem does not mean it's inevitable that others will have the same experience; so I rated it with three stars instead of one.

First off I currently have a LG 43UD79-B 43" 4K 60hz monitor, it's BIG so i thinking of downsizing and really wanted the 144Hz for gaming and the curve for immersion.

The First thing i did when i got this was check for backlight bleed and dead pixels. The panel I got was absolutely perfect and looked amazing. The 144hz made games look really smooth. The curve was great too, really immersive.

The only downside was the buttons instead of joystick and no remote control, making switching between input sources cumbersome. For example i switch between my personal PC and work laptop multiple times a day. with my old monitor it's just a click of the remote control, with this one i have to find the correct buttons to press on the bottom of the monitor.

Unfortunately I did end up returning this because i use a lot of windows for my work (MS Teams/outlook/chrome/intellij), and going from a large 4k monitor to this i was losing over 33% of my usable screen workspace. I also realized i can run my games in widescreen mode on the LG 43" monitor at 3840x1440 effectively giving me a 38" widescreen display with black bars on top and bottom (but only at 60Hz. Keep in mind the LG was $650 and this is only $439. For most this monitor is currently the best bang for your buck, and the panel is amazing. IMO if you are coming from a 16:9 27" or smaller monitor I would highly recommend this monitor unless you have a need to go larger.

I've been playing with the settings, and taken the advice from some of these reviews, but no matter what I do, the monitor is very dim. It'll do what I need it to do, though.

I think that the only drawbacks for this monitor would basically be the brightness. Otherwise, it's fairly good and a great value at the time of writing this.

I am using a 1070ti with this monitor and having no issues with g-sync and have installed the drivers from AOC.

Keep in mind that the games you play need to support this spec and not all of them do.

Competitive games tend not to have support, especially fps, overwatch and valarant for example.

With regards to productivity, I have this set up to have my 2560x1600 monitors x 2 at work, to come in remotely at 1920 x 1440. Monitor sits about 2 feet away and I am loving this set up eveen though things are little small.

I think a 38 inch may be the sweeter spot for work productivity if you are going to have side by side screens on it, but the price points for 38 inches with 144 hz is a different league.

Some people might have issues with the curve if they need precision work, but I have no problems with it. And for hitscan which requires good aim and quick reflexes, I don't see any degradation of accuracy. So I think objectively this needs to be tested to see if it truly has impact - which I don't see.

people with gsync issues seem to either not install the AOC drivers or are maybe driving the monitors rates too slow (under 60). I think if you are buying this for the 144 vrr, your range would really be higher than 60 all the time, so keep this in mind as well - need to have the right CPU/GPU (and at times ram) to keep the frames at an acceptable level.

So overall, outside of the brightness 4 stars.

Had this monitor for about a month and overall I'm impressed by the quality of this product. This monitor uses the Samsung VA panel according to TFTcentral, and it indeed is a very good panel even though the price point is in the low end range.

Highlights:
1. This VA panel is good. Black level is just great for high contrast scene, such as those in movies and games. It simply smashes IPS monitors that I had. Color is good enough for home use, and it's accurate according to online reviews.

2. The panel is fast enough for gaming. I played CODMW on this and LG 27GL83A and you can definitely tell the LG is faster and more fluid in motion. But the difference isn't big enough to give you edges in this game. Conversely the field of view is much wider on AOC and probably gives you better gaming experience at the end. But you will need a beefy GPU (e.g. RTX 2070S) to maintain high FPS on this AOC 34.

3. The monitor is great for productivity work. I find the texts easier on eyes and the color is not over saturated. I have used LG 98% DCI-P3 monitor and I get this 'color fatigue' due to bright red/yellow/green color. This VA panel strikes a good balance in this area and it's a much better tool for reading and work.

Overall it's a very good monitor and I highly recommend it.

So I've had this monitor for a while now, initially I couldn't run Modern Warfare fullscreen with 144Hz (the reason I bought this monitor) because showing the menus in game and randomly during gameplay the screen would go black; as if the monitor was shutting off.

Sometimes pressing ESC or ALT+ENTER will fix the Black Screen for a bit, but unfortunately the black screen always seems to happen at just the wrong moment in games.

I initially thought it was a combination of monitor settings, AOC G-Menu, or NVidia settings. The monitor just doesn't work well in fullscreen. Tried Modern Warfare, Apex Legends, Marvel's Avengers (Beta), and Doom Eternal. They all exhibit the Black Screen behavior to some degree.

Disabling the G-Sync setting in NVidia helps, but doesn't cure the problem. I've bought a high-quality expensive DP cable here from Amazon and still no luck. I guess this monitor is just a dud. Another friend has the same monitor with this issue at all...

The manual on this monitor is absolutely horrible. You have to go AOC's website to download the driver for Windows to use all the On Screen Display (OSD) menu features when you press the buttons on the bottom of the monitor to adjust the settings. Most of the important settings are greyed out and you can't access them without installing the correct driver first.

When you go to AOC's US website, there are 5 choices for driver download and the option for "Screen + Driver" currently has a broken URL link. Just download the "Driver" only option. Unzip it in Windows and install the INF file. This will allow you to be able to adjust the monitor using all the OSD functions built into the monitor.

Additionally, their whites aren't as white as other monitors but I just got used to it. I've tried all the adjustments and fine tuning using the OSD and NVIDIA settings and the white is still not has good as an LG IPS monitor. Overall, it's a good value but frustrating experience for users trying to set-up and fine tune the monitor. The driver should be included with the monitor instead of customers having to go and search for it on their website with broken links.

First off, let me just say that I am not a hardcore gamer. I bought this monitor because as a computer science student, I need to be able to have multiple applications such as Zoom, Eclipse, Excel, browsers, etc. open at a same time and I was tired of juggling them on a laptop screen. Getting this monitor has been life changing.
As far as the physical aspects go, the stand is large, as you would expect, but you can tell AOC did their best to make it as unobtrusive on your desk as possible. The matte screen is super nice as well, and unless you have a window directly behind you, there should be any glare. There is almost no bezel, but there is still quarter inch or so black strip around the edge of the monitor, which I hardly notice. I’m not super in love with the silver stand or red accents, but that’s what I get for buying a gaming monitor.
I was a little concerned about my laptop being able to handle the resolution, but it does just fine, and I can run Fortnight and Paladins at max settings (granted I have a fairly new Thinkpad X1 Extreme). No dead pixels, and I pretty much have the brightness all the way down because I stare at it for 10-15 hours a day. Be aware that some games may not allow you to utilize the full screen, as the producers feel it gives you an unfair advantage, and most movies won’t fit the full screen. There are quite a few newer titles on Amazon Prime video that fit though, which is pretty cool.
All in all, I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. The other options I was looking at were nearly double the price. Unless you have a $5k gaming PC and really appreciate the fine details of a display, this is, in my opinion, the way to go. I doubt you’ll find anything better than this for under $1k
