I have no idea why the original cable crumbled...yep, crumbled...a pile of white plastic stuff showed up in the Kindle pouch...so, I ordered a new cable. This one seems to be made of a better grade of covering...and it works!!! Here's to a long life for it even though you don't have to charge the Kindle very often.

I lost my USB cabel for my Kindle. After searching unsuccessfully,I decided to purchase another on Amazon.I've purchased a number of items to date from the Amazon webpage.The service,as well as delivery of an item, and customer support are impeccable. I will continue to be an Amazon customer.Possibilities

This purchase was for a replacement cable. The first cable shed its entire plastic coating after two years of use. To its credit, however, the cable still functioned. Will see how the replacement cable performs.

This charger works for me and has not frayed or broken like some people's apparently have. If yours does though, or if you simply don't want to buy this charger, fortunately LG phone chargers have the same plug so you can use them to charge your kindle.

The plastic covering on the USB cable that came with the two Kindles I bought started to flak off after about one year exposing the bear wires underneath. I ordered these as replacements and the plastic cover seems to be much softer (less brittle). Have experienced no flaking with these and they work fine. Recommended.

First time reviewing. I wanted to give this product a chance after preordering it and then subsequently reading negative comments as I anticipated its arrival. Here are my pros and cons:Pros:-I like the combo of the coral and brown kindle logo brown faux leather strip-It does fit the kindle fire, although it is more snug than what I was expectingCons:-It does have a chemical odor as others have stated-It is very thin/ not much padding going on inside the "egg crate" style interior-It is pretty overpriced for what you get...maybe not dollar store bad...but maybe $10 and it would be more realistic for what you getI will be returning this for possibly a rooCASE which seemed to get much better reviews.On the plus side, I am writing this review from my new fire and I'm pleased so far!Edit: it looks like amazon is charging a fee to return this as it's not technically defective? I may end up keeping it afterall...I will say that it is slim which is what I was looking for so it can fit in my purse...I'm just a little wary of how protective it will be. Bottom line: I would still avoid this if you can!

I had the same trouble with my original USB Kindle cable as others - cracking and peeling away. The jacket on this one appears that it will not do the same, is thinner and more flexible. I think it may last many years.

This product is excellent and does exactly as it says. I bought this for use with my Kindle fire and it works perfect. both plugs fit tightly with no wiggle room on either end. This is the first Kindle product that I've used so I would like to make note to anyone purchasing this for the Kindle Fire, in order to use this, the device must be turned on and not in sleep mode or your computer will not recognize the device. Very good product at a great price.

My Kindle cable broke and I was in need of another. This is exactly what I wanted as it allowed me to recharge the Kindle DX model that I have to full power. Without it, the Kindle DX would have been useless. Great buy and new.

Sorry this was delayed because I did not replace it until this week. I was very satisfied with the response time, the cable fit perfect and was exactly what I needed. I would not hesitate to deal with Amazon again for anything. Everyone I had contact with was very accomadating and a PLEASURE TO WORK WITH.

I called Amazon on Monday about my kindle charger cord fraying to where you could see the wiring. I was hoping that it would be covered under my extended warranty. I didn't think it was and of course it wasn't. The rep., I spoke to was very kind. He sent me a new cord for free! I couldn't be more happier with this! Now, I'm just waiting, since my kindle is now dead and waiting to be recharged! Thanks customer service!

With it being a white cable instead of black as most are it makes it easy to find. using it is easy and works well for areas like mine where wifi isn't available as well as cable etc. a bit of a struggle at first trying to figure out how to use to transfer books etc to kindle.

So far, the cable I ordered and received from Amazon is doing an effective job of quickly recharging my kindle. My experience with Amazon, as far as ordering online, was very easy (as I am not one to do a lot of online ordering).

Will use it in the car to charge the kith&Kindle on the road. Also combine with the handy Kindle plug I had to buy to charge this out of home.
