I purchased this & it worked fine the first few transfers. After that i quit. I had missed the return date by a few days, and my e-mail to Amazon about the problem was first misunderstood, they thought I hadn't received it. When I corrected that, I never heard from them again. I would like to know it there is any warranty, but haven't been able to find it.Not expensive, but annoying as it should work, especially since it's specific to the fire.I ended up getting a universal, from a foreign vendor, and it works perfectly. It was also cheaper.AOM

Sturdy simple design. The cord is long enough to stretch to a desired location within reason. I think it'll last for quite some time.

Bought the Kindle originally as a birthday present for a senior citizen who loves it. When the cable went bad I replaced it with this one. She is now a very happy campter.

I bought this item in the end of Oct. 2012. No longer works. I thought a Kindle product would be worth the extra price but it's not. Only a partial refund is offered.

This was required when my other charger failed. The original charger is no longer available. Ad for this does not specifically state it can be used on the Kindle Fire I. The customer service agent had to help me.

This with the new Amazon kindle power plug works great my kindle fire charges from 0 for 100% in 2 hours 30 mins. I have replaced the power cord 2 other time before this one. Frustrating but glad that is fixed.

It allows me to charge my Kindle when & wherever it's convenient, rather than only from my desktop iMac. Takes about the same amount of time & is fully satisfactory.

i really like the fast charger. it saves a lot of time and i love it that i dont have to worry about the cord being in the way or not being able to use my kindle while it is charging. really good investment.

We rec'd this after having Kindle issues and once we rec'd new cable, still had issues, but then we rec'd new Kindle without issues, returned the old one and have not had any problems since. Good job Amazon.

replacing the original cord seems to have solved the problem of the unit heating up and maintaining a charge for more than 5 hours

I bought my Kindle in 2007; recently, I noticed that part of the protective coating on the cable had chipped off. I didn't think much of it and placed it back in a pocket of my laptop bag. In a matter of weeks, the whole thing had disintegrated.I came here to order a replacement and found out that this is a known issue (defective batch) and that if you call Kindle support (866-321-8851) they will replace it for free -- despite the fact that my Kindle is 5 years old.Even better, the way they do it is to place it in your cart and then ask you to execute the purchase while they simultaneously credit the account. I'm on travel, so I was able to choose a different shipping address and pay for the 1-day shipping (I was worried that they would only ship to the billing address.) The entire conversation and transaction took less than five minutes.Thanks Amazon!(edited to correct the phone number)

Charges faster than cable that came with my phone. This is for both my Samsung SIII as well as Kindle Fire HD 7". Love it.
