Good product for learning guitar. Recorded songs can be played back at lower/higher speed and tone without changing pitch. Nice sound but not better than the H4 series. But yes, I recommend this product for guitar beginners.

I was hesitant about getting this product. It was a little more out of my price range, but based on some of the reviews of this and its predecessor, the H2, I decided on buying this one for my wife. She is a vocal teacher and participates in many singing groups. She needed something for practices and this seemed to be just the right size. I had purchased the Tascam DR-07 first and this feels like a much better quality product. I find myself using it just as much. I also purchase the accessory pack, which has the USB cable, wind shield, tripod, remote, and more.
Pros:
Size - fits comfortably in your hand
Manual gain is a knob on the side (easily adjust gain without going through menus)
Recording/sound quality has been excellent. I can hear every detail without much of a noise floor.
Has 4 different mic patterns for recording. Mid-Side is great and I can hear such a difference with that compared to just mid. Also love the 4 channel surround.
Recording is as simple as pushing one button.
Cons:
Mic knob is a little bit of a pain to change as it is more of a dial with grooves in it to help you move it with your finger.
Menus could be a little easier to navigate.
Very sensitive to handling noise, so don't expect to hold it to record.
For the price, this I definitely recommend this for anyone just playing around or someone needing a professional sounding on-the-go recording device.

A great product for anyone looking for audio recording. We used it to record an outside speech while the person was walking, and the audio quality was outstanding. I recommend this to all who are looking for a good, and affordable recorder.

This is a decent collection of accessories. The AC adapter, remote, case, and wind filter are the most useful. Not sure about the mini tripod, seems like it doesn't do much except make the recorder more susceptible to being knocked over. Also, be aware that the remote is a wired remote. That may not be obvious unless you read the directions that came with the recorder, or notice the jack on the side and realize that's what it's for. My only beef is that this pack should be included with the H2n device. With the previous model H2, you got most of these things included in the purchase price of the recorder, which was less than the H2n. Now you have to pay $40 more if you want the accessory pack.

Excelent product for my intended use which is voice recording and sometimes music background. You can put on a set of headphones and listen while recording as if you where plugged into a mixer. Use 2ch recording for interviews with 2 persons using a mic and headphones you can feel as if you are in a studio even when you are out doors without the need for an electical outlet for speakers and a mixer. Add in background music and you will be amazed at the quality of recording experience you can enjoy with profesional sound quality. Listeners will think they are listining to a live radio studio broadcast.

Im AMAZED of the capacity of this recorder, I bought it to record full room voices, for that, the surround audio recording is absolutely good.
Audio quality is supergood, couldnt asked for more.
The price was the best deal I found on the Internet, The kit is great, the SD Card is amazing Class 10, I actually use it on my film camera.
Definetly, this recorder is a MUST for travelers, interviews, FILMAKING, Photography.

Great Recorder! I've only had this device for a couple weeks but I have been very impressed with the audio quality. Since I've already noticed others recording guitar and presenting it's great vocal uses for podcasting, I took a few minutes today just to record basic everyday sound such as burgers frying on the grill, a noisy door slowly opening, a drill in action and water dripping into a glass. No audio adjustment, noise reduction, or enhancement was added. No special preparations were made either. I selected XY mode, MP3 at 320khz and re-encoded to a WMV file.
In the short time I've had this recorder, I've recorded several church sermons with great results and will soon test it at the Ohio Free Will Baptist Men's Retreat. More to follow.
Bottom line is you can't go wrong with this recorder. The microphones are top notch and record stellar audio. The only downside is If you need the option for XLR which it doesn't support.

It is sad that Zoom does not provide accessories for H2n the way they do for H4n.
I ordered the accessory kit along with my zoom recorder and I'm very happy with the product. It worked out to be $ 30 cheaper than buying the kit separately. I know I have everything I need and it's super awesome to get 8 GB memory card. There's also a two GB memory card that comes with the recorder while this vendor throws in a class 10 superfast memory card along with the kit. You also get a few additional cables and earphones.
I tried few test recordings yesterday and am very happy with the quality of the audio. I confidently recommend this product and this is the best option if you're planning to buy the accessory kit along with the zoom recorder.

I have started using the Zoom H2n for recording internal audio when filming automotive video reivews at Youtube slash Autosavant (for examples) and it works amazingly well. The sound out of this is so much better than any of the lavaler microphones we have used in the past because you get much improved environmental sounds. I highly recommend.

I play the violin and I bought this product to record myself during practice and to share occasionally with friends and family. I can't say enough about this handy little recorder! It's easy to use and makes great recordings (my errors aside). I have not had the need to use the 4ch surround mode yet, but was impressed that it was available. The mid-side (MS) stereo mode gives a variable audio field depth that allows you to get anything from an intimate, almost mono feel, all the way to an expansive 150° sound field (I did a recording in my kitchen with a 120° field, and it sounded almost studio-like). I haven't used the included software, but it seems to be pretty powerful. All-in-all, if you are looking for a reasonably priced digital audio recorder, this will make you very happy.

I'm an educator for several different musical ensembles in Austin, Texas and after hearing about this Mic from a member of the FSU Percussion studio, I decided to check out Zoom and get a little more info. I was able to snag this wonderful little device for under $160 off of Amazon and I'm extremely happy with my purchase. I'd definitely recommend the Accessory pack as well.
The sound quality of the H2N is wonderful. I use it with iMovie on my Macbook to sync up audio and video. It's extremely easy to use and has so many great features. My favorite is the manual gain control. It makes it easy to get the sound level exactly where you want it.
If you're considering this recorder, you won't regret purchasing it.

I frequently play fiddle and guitar in old-time and bluegrass jam circles and festivals. The tunes are fun to play along to, but hard to remember for practice later. I bought the H2n to set up in the middle of the circle. Recording has never been easier, and the various controls for filetype and stereo image/surround make it sound professional all the way! The H2n ranks up there as one of the best purchases I've made for my music just behind my fiddle and tuner. Every musician should be recording themselves for practice and sharing, and the H2n is the easiest and most affordable way to get great sounding tracks.

I've only had it for a few months but have had a good play with it. The first time I used it I hadn't even looked at the manual. I turned it on and pressed record straight out of the box and got great results at my band rehearsal. It recorded in .wav format but was easy to convert onboard to .mp3 to share easily with bandmates. So, first time and a good impression. I was considering the H4n but the battery consumption was high and I couldn't justify the extra cost for my fairly basic needs.

I was so excited to get this product as I already had been using my ZoomH2 for a few years and especially wanted the remote recording button feature. I ordered and it arrived in about a week. Just in time for our Holy Week services, which I always record. Unfortunately, I discovered that this is for the Zoom H2 *N*! I totally missed that when ordering! :{ Had to return as that remote device didn't interface with *my* Zoom. <<sigh>>

We've been using the H2n to record band practice and jam sessions. EVERY single recording has come out very nicely. You can hear each instrument. We are using the MS mic setup with the back of the zoom facing the band at a close distance.

Just spent a full week with the unit. Very happy with what it can do. The accessory pack is a must have. I'm a musician and I produce my own videos. Needed a recorder to capture pure audio. I got the H2 but was not happy with the interface and battery life. The H2n addressed these two issues. Have not changed the batteries all week and it still has a little juice left. Recording quality is simply superb. I would give it 5 stars if the accessories were included.
