The components in this accessory pack are very poor quality. It is not worth the money, imho.
The tripod has plastic legs that do not even spread very wide, so the tripod is not particularly stable.
The a/c adaptor will only work in the US; you can easily get something else that will work for all voltages. (The adaptor is 5v USB output.)
The case does not provide much padding or protection
You would be better off with separate components form other makers
This stuff is a waste of money.

I was looking for a good mic to do voice overs for my travel documentaries. I live in a noisy area so sound isolation is difficult. Nothing I tried reproduced my voice the way I wanted it to. This microphone does the trick. It is very intuitive in its operation and I love the way it sounds. It is also now a regular part of my field kit.

I luv this stereo digital recorder. Quality of recordings is awesome. Range perfect. Easy to operate. Very light weight and easy to store. I would highly recommend this unit. I only wish it had XLR mic inputs, but then I guess that's what makes the H4N a better option compared to the H2N. The unit is made of plastic. I wish it was made of metal, but the unit is OK to me - I'm not that rough with my stuff so it's fine for me. It's a great recorder.

I bought this device right when it got released and all I can say is that im impressed. The price has jumped some from then to now but I still think it is a great buy. I use this for videos and the sound quality is amazing. It is a little tricky to master but once connected to a pair of high quality headphones you will quickly learn. The sound quality itself Is what pushed me to buy this. Audio plays a major role in filmmaking and I feel that this mic will last me a long time. I have been told that the audio from this mic sounds "professional" on multiple accounts. I will link an example of a video I used this mic for, hopefully showing you the quality. [...] (this video was made when I first purchased the device, with better understanding comes more control and thus higher quality audio. Over the years I am convinced that this mic is all I will need.) I could complain about the bulkiness or plastic feel but I wont because; 1, The price is right, and 2, half the time it is on a tripod or on the ground when I am not holding it or concerned with the build quality. The plastic feel tells me that zoom put my money towards the audio quality itself and not the build, which in a filmmakers point of view is a plus. Overall I would highly recommend this product if it fits your budget. It is a great buy.
A few things I left out... This mic looks a lot more professional than the zoom h2 and I couldn't imagine it without the large screen.

Purchased as a gift for my husband. He did comment he was surprised the housing was all plastic. Seems to perform well though.

Its my first recorder and its very good performer, i bought it to use it as a universal recorder, nice build quality, although its all plastic, i loved the black mic mesh.
Pros:
Easy menus and navigation
Good features
Good pick up levels
Very very clear and crisp mic pickup
Cons:
The mic pattern rotating switch is just awful
Hard to open the sd memory cover
Overall i think this product will stay with me for a very long time :P

Accessories help the unit to be more user-friendly. Especially like the tripod and remote. Haven't used the others yet, but anticipate them to be helpful also.

Great portable recording tool with reasonable quality. Too plastic. Control settings take a little to get used to. Quality/price at a good balance. Battery life ok.

This was a must for me and what seems to be a must for many who have purchased the zoom H2n. If you have the extra money after buying a zoom, I HIGHLY suggest this.

I purchased this recorder for cryptozoology field research and it works fantastic,easy to use but word of the wise,use lithium batteries to record for 10 hours plus,I tried rechargables and they lasted about 4 hours but other than that I recommend this.

I'm one of those many consumers that reviews the snot out of something before I buy it especially when it's something I know nothing about. The H2N was my entrance into the audio recording game. I have since ventured into the HDSLR world and needed a recorder. It seems that the deFacto handheld recorder seems to be the H4N but I was on a limited budget. There were Tascams and other Zooms but I went with the H2N and I was not disappointed. I used it mostly for interviews and it worked great. I do suggest getting the accessory pack. The windscreen was a life saver when we did interviews outside in the wind. And the little microphone dowel let us use the H2N as a handheld microphone. I don't see myself using any of the other accessories, though. But mileage with these accessories are dependent on your personal uses.
The bad:
Alas, I have had to return the H2N because the toggle switch was sticky. It got a little frustrating and maybe I could have lived with it but I didn't want it to be a precursor to a bigger problem so I am returning it and getting the H4N. Other than that this little guy was exactly what I needed and loved that you could use it as a proper microphone.

As the title says, only worth it (For me at least) for the ac power and wind guard thingy. The rest I don't use and just collects dust. I guess I can use the remote but since it's wired and I hate wires I probably won't be using it ever again. -1 star for collecting dust

It arrived on time, and it was spot on to the spec and details given. I think the unit is a little obtuse to understand at first - but, yes it does work like the box says!! Love the product and the supplier - recommend both to anybody interested. Nice to be able to say it, too!!!

I don't have a lot to say on this except as I feared, this was just a pacakge of a bunch of cheap little accessories like a cheap, almost useles mini-tripod, and other cheap little things. Not impressed with the quality. My review may not be too helpful though because I was so disappointed in them, I didnt even try to use them beyond 10 minutes of playing with them. Anyway, for what it's worth, there you go. I wish I had not wasted my money on these items but maybe someone else finds them useful given the price?

Good product for learning guitar. Recorded songs can be played back at lower/higher speed and tone without changing pitch. Nice sound but not better than the H4 series. But yes, I recommend this product for guitar beginners.

I was hesitant about getting this product. It was a little more out of my price range, but based on some of the reviews of this and its predecessor, the H2, I decided on buying this one for my wife. She is a vocal teacher and participates in many singing groups. She needed something for practices and this seemed to be just the right size. I had purchased the Tascam DR-07 first and this feels like a much better quality product. I find myself using it just as much. I also purchase the accessory pack, which has the USB cable, wind shield, tripod, remote, and more.
Pros:
Size - fits comfortably in your hand
Manual gain is a knob on the side (easily adjust gain without going through menus)
Recording/sound quality has been excellent. I can hear every detail without much of a noise floor.
Has 4 different mic patterns for recording. Mid-Side is great and I can hear such a difference with that compared to just mid. Also love the 4 channel surround.
Recording is as simple as pushing one button.
Cons:
Mic knob is a little bit of a pain to change as it is more of a dial with grooves in it to help you move it with your finger.
Menus could be a little easier to navigate.
Very sensitive to handling noise, so don't expect to hold it to record.
For the price, this I definitely recommend this for anyone just playing around or someone needing a professional sounding on-the-go recording device.

A great product for anyone looking for audio recording. We used it to record an outside speech while the person was walking, and the audio quality was outstanding. I recommend this to all who are looking for a good, and affordable recorder.
