Relatively easy to set up and very easy to use. Needed to remove some tea stains on a cream carpet and other unidentified staining in kid's rooms. All removed with ease. Not sure how effective the machine would be for very dirty carpets, but for normal cleaning and stain removal the machine is excellent. Well wort the

A vacuum cleaner that does a really good job. I don't use it every day as I have another vacuum that is lighter, but it's very good for washing carpets and sofas and car seats!

When we moved house we throught we'd get a new hoover as the old 1 wasn't great, plus with 2 house cats we need a good Hoover.

I had borrowed one of these, many years ago and thought it was a marvellous machine then. My friend upgraded to a newer upright Vax, so I duly borrowed that as well, and although it cleaned as efficiently as ever it was just too darned heavy.
On deciding to purchase my own machine there was really no question, it had to be the orange one on wheels. Having used it on my cream dining room carpet with a rather grubby doorway and suspicious 'Charlie' (my cat) stains, I am delighted to say it has performed like a dream. The stains have lifted and although the doorway is not perfect, its not going to be after 5 years traffic! You can see the carpet is still there and its still cream.
On the whole I'm very pleased with the Vax both carpet washing and vacuuming.

It does everything I bought it for very well. I haven't tried it for carpet washing yet. It arrived promptly and well packed.

Good design, very efficient and easy to use. Carpets dried very fast too. Well worth the price especially with special offer. Couldn't believe how much dust and dirt it picked up.

I am totally amazed at how powerful this vacuum cleaner is. I have 2 dogs who malt alot so this vacuum is ideal for my house. No more dog hairs all over the place. Very fast delivery and an execellent price better than in any shop and online. Very happy customer thanks very much.

I THINK THIS VAX IS FANTASTIC. I AM NOW ABOUT TO BUY ONE AS I HAVE BEEN USING MY SISTERS. GREAT SUCTION. I HAVE NOT USED IT AS A CLEANER BUT THE SHAMPOOING IS GREAT. I BROKE MY UPRIGHT SHAMPOOER AFTER 15 YEARS OF USE AND HAD TO BORROW HERS. AFTER USING IT, IT WAS SO MUCH EASIER TO PULL THAN PUSH. THE CARPET WAS OK TO WALK ON AFTER A COUPLE OF HOURS. THE BEST BIT WAS WHEN I CAME TO CLEAN IT (TO TAKE IT BACK) WOW, AFTER THE TIMES I GOT SOAKED CLEANING MY OLD UPRIGHT& I HAD NO IDEA HOW TO CLEAN THIS ONE, I HAD EMPTIED THE SILT & DIRTY WATER OUT, SO I FILLED A BUCKET WITH CLEAN WATER AND PUT THE HEAD IN THE BUCKET AND SWITCHED ON. IT WAS SO EASY. I THEN JUST HAD TO DRY IT WITH A PAPER TOWEL. LOOKS LIKE NEW AGAIN.

I couldn't find the correct dustbag, even in the shop that sold the machine, and with many shops in my town now closed, I went on line. The bags arrived within 48hrs, well packed.
Don't know how the price compares with over the counter, as I still have not found a shop nearby that sells them.

I had a similar vax it lasted for years so I wanted one again .I am very pleased with it also the price was very reasonable much cheaper than I had seen in other shops etc

Just received my machine today. Easier to assemble than other reviews led me to expect, simply by following instruction leaflet and a bit of common sense. It works! In about an hour I had put it together, vacuumed then washed a well trodden, 2X3 metre carpet with excellent results. Washing that size of carpet/rug only took about 15 minutes. It is noisy, but gets the job done quickly and efficiently. Long may it last, and I can't see any reason why it shouldn't. Can't wait to play with it on my other carpets.
... 2 months later... even more impressed. Very efficient and easy to convert from vacuum to washer.
Tip: make sure vacuum hose is completely dried out after washing before reassembly to vacuum mode. Otherwise, dust bag will get damp.

Great bargain after 2 months I'm still using the first bag, pretty strong considering they are paper more like thin cardboard. Bargain price, came quickly and well packaged

Haven't used yet but they arrived promptly and Vax items are usually good - though I have a 'dust buster' from Vax and it is absolute rubbish - no power at all - doesn't even pick up dry leaves, or hair 'flurries' from dog room floor. Also battery does not last well. Other Vax items have always been good though.

i am a professional carpet/upholstery cleaner....bought this for the family to save me being asked to do theirs every other week! i tried it out and found it to be surprisingly very good...actually as good as machines costing a whole lot more!

Inspite of reading good reviews, I wasn't very optimistic about the machine cleaning the carpet. To my pleasant surprise, it did clean the carpet to a great extent. The dark stains on the carpet did require some initial work-up using some cleaner liquid/foam. It sucks up all the normal dust and dirt. My 2 cents of improvement that I want to see.. one, I wish I could use water hotter than 40degC and two, the speed control especially for dry vacuuming.

The Vax vacuum cleaner was purchased to keep my workshop tidy.
It has performed very well and has cleaned up wood chippings, lathe metal turnings etc.
