Excellent being able to use it as a hoover and also as a carpet washer.
Delivery was prompt and the price very competitive.

+ I managed to get red wine stain, dry tomato sauce stain and other unknown stains off my white carpet and get my deposit back
+ It has lasted for 1 year now and it still works as good as the 1st day
+ you can load it with your favourite detergent
- it's heavy and the water won't last too long (2-3 rooms for thorough washing).
I highly recommend it.

Pros:
-Good dry suction
-Shampooing function really freshens up your carpet
Cons:
-Don't expect it to remove stubborn stains - you'll need a stain removed for that at the very least. This works best to remove loose dirt and odours from carpets.
-Can often over-wet your carpet. To compensate for this you need to be careful not to push the large head over your carpet more than one or two times. Then using the small head without delivering water to suck up the remaining dirt and water can then give good results, but it takes a while...
-The shampooing functionality takes quite a while overall

The suction is great, the build quality is very good.
I am also using it in conjunction with a high filtration material dust bag and it captures the brick dust and soot perfectly.
Highly recommended for the price.

Big difference is - this is in your face orange, the older one was dark crimson and more discreet.
This unit has a longer hose, which is good and 200 more watts power, however it has lost the very useful variable power knob.
In use - it is a right fiddle to assemble and there is NO printing on the outside as in this picture.
It's also a right pain to store all the fiddly bits - I'm keeping the box as someone here suggested.
Vax fluid is expensive and doesn't have the dilution on the bottle, its 40ml / litre of warm water and is expensive, so keep the dilution written on the bottle or the tank itself!
The instruction has shrunk - it has tiny tiny pictures, they used to be big and friendly!
Its simple to figure out - although it is very understated, eg: does not show the dropping/stowing of the fluid syphon hose at all. Fooled my wife last time and this time too - a written note in size 6 font is NOT enough chaps - PICTURE IT !
In use - yes its very powerful suction, which is good for drying the carpets, but its back breaking in use and the container always gets stuck around furniture.
Emptying the thing is an art requiring a steady hand to carry the full tray to the drain - suggest you use the outside drain - it removes a lot of brown stuff (skin cells mostly and dust, mud)
The thing should have been re-thought and redesigned years ago.
Here's the obvious things for Vax Engineers:
The clips - they break and there are not enough - the clear shampoo delivery tube really flaps around and gets in the way.
The fluid switch on the end nozzle - they move with a simple flick of the head and turn back on - soaking the chair etc without you realising it - three times ion my first test - same as on the 12 year old machine, except I use artery forceps to stop the flow - more efficient!
When you shorten the pipes to use the tiny upholstery tool - you have a metre of flapping tube getting in the way.
Why not modularise it and have the fluid on/off on the handle?
As is the switches work in the opposite direction to each other, so sometimes on is off ! Grrrrrr!!!!
The handle still doesn't have a clip to hold the hose, which would be a brilliant parking place when you move the chair or carry it.
carrying it upstairs - It's heavy at 15 Kilos! Once upstairs it is really clumsy to fill it from the bathroom taps - Tip fill in the bath and empty into the toilet - the muck will block a 1 1/4" drain easily and there is always a lot of muck in the water.
Does it work - yes it does - but put aside an afternoon with all the fiddly bits you will need it, especially when cleaning it afterwards - TIP: do it outside, so make sure its a sunny day,
I would love to try an upright instead - it would just be so much more convenient.

the hover part is very stong
great for the spring clean

i gave less money to buy multivax and the carpet solutios and we do the cleaning ourselves. we save a lot of money.and we will use it many years!
