I purchased this model as a Hoover ....with the washer as an extra.......
So far it's exceeding my expectations .........lets hope it continues.....

Beige carpet, heavy traffic areas looking very grey after a kitchen and bathroom replacement. Occasional spot treatment or wider area hand scrubbing showed up the difference even more.
Vacuum function alone is incredible. Far better than a previous Dyson or Vax conventional model. Noisy but with that sort of suction you are getting the job done far quicker so no complaints from me. The ridiculously long lead and hose make it very practical and I have no problems getting around with it. Stairs can be done in two hits, half from the top and the rest from the bottom. Easy.
Have not done a whole room yet but I am extremely pleased with the results from tackling a couple of badly marked high traffic areas. Whilst it may not be possible for everyone to attempt this, I had far better results using the upholstery tool to clean the carpet than the regular head. Obviously this would take a long time for a full room or those less able but for a real blitz for the first clean it has done an excellent job. Once I have completed the whole place I am sure the regular attachment will be fine to maintain.
The instructions are clear enough. I only missed the note to unclip the tube under the motor to allow it to draw water from the reservoir. I'm also unsure if the foam/felt disc below the motor has to be removed for wash function. There is the temptation to use too much cleaning fluid and I was not as impressed with the Vax supplied solution as I was with 1001. I doubt there is much of an issue using other solutions as long as they do not foam up too much within the machine. I may have overdone the 1001 a little as there was some foaming / bubbling coming from the side of the machine but nothing excessive.
The Vax is certainly not some sort of ergonomic decorative piece of household electrical. Little bit bulky, little bit awkward to keep all the tools and the vacuum/washer elements separate but it is a powerful vacuum and an effective carpet washer. It snaffles up all those annoying clinging threads that get trapped on rugs with even a hint of pile, does a great job with the narrow attachment between carpet edge and skirting too.

This was about half the price that many were selling same item for..Very pleased with it as its performance is excellent..a bit big and chunky but does job well.

As a carpet washer it's great, as a vacuum cleaner it's okay primarily because it doesn't have a rotating brush to pick up loose fibres from carpet. It also doesn't have enough ties to clip the washer pipe to the vacuum hose so we used the old ones off our old broken Vax 4000. Apart from that it cleans really well with brilliant suction for drying off. Recommended.

After reading the great reviews, I purchased this vax cleaner and was not disappointed. I would highly recommend this product at a fraction of the price of many upright models. Great vacuum cleaner and impressive carpet cleaner - but let's be clear it "cleans" carpet. Looking at some of the negative reviews - people seem to think it would be a beige carpet stain remover.
It takes 5 mins to transfer from vacuum to carpet cleaner, but you do have to clean and dry the full unit before converting back to the vacuum. Since I only give my carpets a good carpet wash every 3 months this is not really a problem for me. Highly recommended!

Having recently purchased a Vax 6131T Multisystem appliance, I felt it prudent to stock up on Dust Bags at the same time. I have nothad occasion to use these spares yet, as being large bags I am still on the first one of those suppllied with the appliance.
The prices from the Seller was excellent as was the executing of the order. They arrived very quickly and well packaged.
Spares are spares, and I expect they will perform as expected and purchasing them on Amazon was a good saving as opposed to buying them via the manufacturer.

i worked for this company when it first stared out and had the wet and dry machine then it was good but now its even better as it has a water pump and it dry s the carpet off dry within the hour best on the market i think so.

They are just vac. bags. what's to say? I ordered, I paid, they arrived. I've yet to use one but it's not like there's any moving parts to go wrong!

This replacement hose is a better fit thant the original one and is more flexible. Delivery was quick and the cleaner now has a new life.

Haven't had a Vax cleaner for a few years now but have just purchased a new one. These machines are still the best vacuum and wet cleaner that you can buy at the price. Probably outdoes many machines twice the cost. Highly recommended

What a great product this is debated on getting a cheaper machine but thinking my parents one is donkey yrs old and still going strong so i am now a proud owner of one and used it on the car seats and the results were great.

We use this for commercial jobs which normal vacums struggle to deal with. Had them before and they last well until dropped from a great heaght!

What an amazing machine! It's a normal vacuum cleaner, It sucks up flood water - only it didn't arrive in time to do it. Paid extra (a lot) to have guaranteed delivery next day - only guess what? Amazon contracted out to City-Link, and yes you guessed it because you've all had experiences with them , they failed to deliver! Waited in for 5 hours - no word - delivered two days later. Already cleared up flood waters by then. Still trying to get compensation from City-Link for wasted time. Dream on. When will Amazon stop using this company? I wish I could specify not to deliver my orders by City-Link !!!!

Quality is as you would expect from a Vax product I have used both wet and dry although I must admit the instruction book could have been a little bit larger at 75yrs MY SIGHT IS NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE The water that came out from cleaning my suit was astonishing and it looks as good as new I have always had an upright vacuum so this took a bit of getting used to but I know I am going to find it very usefull I would reckomend it to anyone

I bought this item to clean my sofa, car seat with puke. And this machine did the work easy, fast and correct. When i got the vacuum machine from the post office other people asked where to buy it. I just say, Amazon.co.uk has it all, cheep and easy.

On our light coloured carpet, although the waste water was absolutely black, the carpet was still dirty in the main walkway areas after the first use. I'll give it another go, but so far, not brilliant.

Great improvement on the old version. My only gripe, if you can call it that, it's a bit on the heavy side. Apart from that, it is a very good machine, takes up the water very well and cleans well too.
