The Transcend 16GB High Speed Class 10 UHS-1 SDHC memory card is one of the fastest SDHC-type memory cards you can currently find on the market. This is great for transferring images from your card to your PC or Mac using your computer's SD card reader. However, this memory card may or may not be any faster inside your camera than a slower memory card. The Ultra-High Speed (UHS-1) standard supports a clock frequency of 100 MHz (4 times faster than the original default speed for SDHC), which in four-bit transfer mode could transfer 50 MB/s. UHS-I cards also support a clock frequency of 208 MHz, which could transfer 104 MB/s.This is all well and good, but most cameras don't support this kind of rapid read/write speed and unless you have a USB 3.0 memory card reader you won't be able to transfer files that fast either. The newest professional-grade DSLRs usually support UHS-1 speeds but in the overwhelming majority of cameras this memory card isn't much (if any) faster. If you know what you're buying and either your camera or your USB 3.0 card reader can handle UHS-1 speeds then you should buy this memory card. If not, you can probably save some cash and buy a cheaper 16GB SDHC card.

It could be a LITTLE faster but for the price, it's hard to beat it. It's a great buy! Get one, or 5

For those of us with a Fujifilm Finepix X100, get this card! The startup and shot recovery times are greatly improved using a fast card, especially when shooting RAW. This camera really takes advantage of the additional speed. Highly recommended.

Unless you have access to a computer lab, it's difficult to give a technical evaluation of something like an SD card unless there is a clear technical problem or other issue. With the Transcend, that wasn't an issue. It performed as promised after low level formatting in the camera.I have always tried to buy and use the fastest compact cards and SD cards available. After all, time is money! For that reason, I wasn't expecting to see a significant difference in write and download speeds with this card.As a test, I shot some large / fine .jpg files and the write speed seemed about the same as the 133X card I was using before. I suspect that the write speed is more a function of the camera and if it doesn't make use of the SDHC Class 10 UHS-I technology you won't notice a difference. My camera (it's a few years old) probably lacks the technical bits and bytes for fast data writing. However, when I downloaded the images, the speed was noticeable faster on my nearly brand new Mac Book Pro.The manufacturer claims that they have error correction technology built into the card. Of course my brief test would not detect that but the pre-loaded data recovery software is thoughtful touch just in case.At about $2 per gigabyte, this SD card represents good value.Definitely worth your consideration.

The card is as described and works perfectly. Although not the fastest card on the market, the write speed is quick enough that it can handle my camera in burst mode without a hick up, and have enough space for the large file sizes.

I purchased a pair of these while they were on special. Unfortunately these are not compatible with the Nikon D800 camera, they cause hangs and lockups. Fortunately I also have a Nikon D7000 and they work as expected in that body and are plenty fast. Seems the D800 is very finnicky when it comes to SD cards. I've always had good luck with Transcend cards and I understand several other brands of cards cause hangups with the D800 so it must have something to with the processing system Nikon used on that model.

To be honest, I have not tested its' speed by any software, so I cannot say how fast it is.However, I, at least, am sure it works fine with Sony HX200V.

I've been putting this card through its paces for nearly a month. I've shot hundreds of photos and haven't lost any. Transfer speed is about the same as my other class 10 cards. Basically, it works and continues to work--it's the best compliment I can give for an SD card. (I'll update this review if anything changes.)I've discovered the hard way that reliability is important. I've owned Transcend cards for years, but a few years ago I decided to buy much more expensive "professional" cards to shoot a wedding. I also bought a portable hard drive as a backup. I stashed the Transcend cards in the back of my bag and worked with the other cards, backing them up as they came out of the camera. Good thing, too, because one of them failed that night, despite the fact that it was safely stored and suffered no damage. I still have my Transcend cards from those days, and they're just as reliable (if a bit slow by now--they're class 2, and still in use in other devices.) I expect this card to last just as long.If you don't own any SDHC cards, you should check to be sure your device will support them before you buy. Beyond that, I have no problem recommending this card.

I purchased this for my daughter's new Canon T4i and it's exactly what was needed. I'm not a techie when it comes to SD media, but my brother had said to make sure whatever I got was fast so there's no lag in the camera. This was the lowest price of the fast cards and I'd buy again. She transfers her photos onto a hard drive nightly, so I'm not worried about the SD failing. And for the price, if it does fail I'll be happy to replace it with the same brand.

I've got five Transcend flash cards now (4 SD, 1 CF). Haven't had any problems with any of them, and have taken thousands of images on them (I'm a part-time professional photographer; mostly weddings). In general, I think Transcend cards tend to be one of the better deals out there for flash memory. Would I rather have the name Sandisk or Lexar on the cards? Yes, for peace of mind, if the price were the same. But it's not (for an equivalent product). And I think that's the point. These work just about as well, *and* they're reasonably priced.SPEED: Using Atto Disk Benchmark, I had consistent read speeds of 80 MB/sec and write speeds of 45 MB/sec using the USB 3.0 connection on my SSD-equipped laptop and the Kingston USB 3.0 card reader. That's pretty good. My standard class 10 Transcend 8GB card only gets 20MB/sec read, 14MB/sec write.Keep in mind that this card is only faster than a standard class 10 card when used with a UHS-1 compatible device (a USB 3.0 card reader, etc). If you don't have one of those (most people don't), a standard class 10 (or even class 6) is likely to perform just as well, and at a much cheaper price. You won't notice a difference while it's in your camera.Transcend 16 GB SDHC Class 10 Flash Memory Card TS16GSDHC10E
