I got this router about 2 weeks ago to replace my previous 2Wire router and it is great. I have AT&T in California and have seen an improvement in my speeds. My down speed has increased from 4.8 to 5.5 and my up speed increased from 601 to 649. My ping times have also dropped from 40ms to 25. The wireless N is excellent and have noticed a difference compared to wireless G. For those who worry about setting this up it was no problem at all. I went to 192.168.1.1 and logged in with the default password both being admin. Once logged in you click on Quick Setup and follow the prompts. The only thing I had to do was upgrade the firmware as the version that came in my router was 1.6 which was from 2010. Even that was well explained and I had no problems doing it. As to the heat issue it does get warm but still not as hot as my original Speedstream 5100 modem which I got in 2005 and is still running at a friends house. By getting this router I have also received an unexpected benefit of a reduction in FM TV and scanner interference. Compared to my previous 2Wire I am able to pick up FM stations indoors that were previously only available if I walked outside. I have a set of rabbit ears to pick up a local DTV station that is not on my Dish service and the signal increased from 60 to 80% and on my scanner I have channels that had birdies with my previous router that are now gone and for the first time can even pick up the Santa Barbara weather station without having to unplug anything. I am very happy with this router and would buy something from TP-Link again.

This modem/router/wifi hotspot has been working flawlessly. Try buying this in any other brand and see how much you will pay! Very happy with my TP-Link TD!

This modem/router works great. One thing I will say is that the setup process was confusing to me. Runs great and is compatible with my ISP. I would recommend this ptoduct.

This router is AWESOME!! It's quick easy to set up. Works great notice a difference in my speed right away and streaming a movie was perfect! no buffering. Would highly recommend this modem router to anybody love it so much I purchased another one for my daughter's home.

I bought this router because I have the 2wire from AT&T at home, which would always lose connection. So far this one has been great. I think it did drop the connection once, but before the 2wire would drop it at least 6 times a day.I will say that after installing it and going on speedtest.com my download speed went up by about .05 Mb/sInstallation can be tricky, I would say to read everything first. While going through the installation I randomly got AT&T's website which gave me my login name and password, after which point it became easy.

Pros: easy installation, fast speeds, no issues as an AT&T ADSL router/modemCons: issues with dynamic DHCP lease timeout - The maximum DHCP lease for wireless connection (for dynamic IP address allocation) can only be set to 48 hours. This proved to be a problem with my streaming account for Netflix via Sony Bravia TV wireless connection. Because the lease times out, the Sony TV does not reestablish the network and internet connection automatically, which requires running a network connection setup every two days before streaming Netflix movies or accessing Internet via TV. The TP Link customer support is dreadful with very basic English and unable to assist. The only solution to this problem is to assign a static IP address to the Sony TV in the router's advanced setup (without any help from the TP link on how to do that).

We are using this with CenturyLink, formerly Quest, and it is a great product. Once you get past the representative from whatever provider you are using telling you it won't work with their service (and telling you to use theirs instead), get the username and password assigned to the account, as well as the type of connection they are using (PPPoE, PPPoA, etc)and the VPI/VCI settings (the auto-detect may work for you, it did not in my case but I would ask for the manual settings either way so you only have to make one phone call). This information all goes in on one page during the install process, and it is all that the modem needs to work. The installation software will give you an option when setup is complete to compile all of this information into a text file for future reference. The interface is very user-friendly and once I had the proper settings the install was perfect the first time through, it took about 5 minutes to be up and running perfectly. The signal for wireless is very good on both floors of a two-level residence, we are streaming video wirelessly across the network from the DVR to the bedrooms upstairs with no problem at all. I would have to say that some of the people who gave this modem/router poor reviews either did not follow instructions or did not get the correct answers from their service providers. The instruction manual included also has a list of settings used by many major providers and customer service numbers for them as well. Very solid product for the price, and it is always nice to see what my up/down speeds look like through an independent source. I highly recommend this product to anyone, a ten-year old can easily set it up if given the proper settings.

Like most things you get what you pay for. This product somewhat counters that. It is a very small price for a great product. I only have a 3MB connection to my house that is spliced a few times. (Not optimal) the device only dropped a few times the three months I had it probably due to my connection. It was very easy to set up. I have AT&T DSL and it works well with them. If I wanted to spend more money I would buy a Linksys or Cisco product but this product work well also. Range is good, looks good. Just a good device and would recommend.

I've been a Pacbell/SBC/ATT DSL user for many years, been through a lot of moden/modem problems. This is a HUGE upgrade from the stuff ATT gives/sells you. Holds speed better / longer and very few drops. The wireless signal is stronger then the Linksys I was using. Nice to have both functions in one box. Cost less to buy too. We'll see how long it lasts.

I don't know TP-Link, but if they continue developing equipment that is easy to setup, yet has all options that you can configure if you need to; they are certainly going to be a rising star in the networking world.I opened the box, installed the modem, and configured it within 10 minutes. It has worked flawless ever since.

I purchased this product and it worked fine for the first month. I had occassional issues with wireless dropping, but a quick reboot would solve the problem (although very annoying). After 1 month the wireless aspect is not working at all. The modem works fine when connected via ethernet cable, but the wireless is totally dead. I have been reading other posts with people having the same problems, so let me save you all a bunch of trouble: DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT. You will regret it.

I had great hopes that this modem/router would solve my issues with a slow connection in my shop which is about 125 feet from the router. I spent all Saturday trying get this thing to connect to the internet. This morning I took it to my ISP to have them set it up, but the tech could not make it work either. If you have ATT avoid this router like the plague. I experience dropped signal 3 to 5 times an hour so the wireless is worse than worthless. It takes several minutes to restore the signal.

I really like this little piece of equipment, it is extremely easy to configure, has great signal and if you want you can configure just about anything you like. The instructions are really detailed. Really recommend it!

Very good signal, good for the price. I used to have a ADSL modem connected to a wireless Linksys, and this product replaced those two giving a better performance.

Got the product a while ago, really good experience with it. Easy to use and setup. Switched to cable and now use it as a wireless router and access point. Great product that never let me down.

The unit works perfectly. The old router fluctuated quite a bit but this unit is rock steady with no drop outs either on DSL or the wireless.

The wi-fi on this router did not work properly. It would go in and out with my phone and laptop, always showing a strong signal but sometimes sending no data.I called support and got someone who spoke English so badly I gave up and emailed support instead. She told me to change the settings, which I did, and that did not help. She then admitted it was a known problem, so I returned the item.
