When I bought this memory card, I was thrilled by the amount of memory space it had for the PS2. I figured I wasn't going to need any other memory card for it, but come to find out, it doesn't work with my Kingdom Hearts 2 game. It works fine with the others so far, but not with that one. So if you're going to play any of the Kingdom Hearts games, I'd recommend looking for a different memory card, this one's not a good idea.

Some might ask why would you want a ps2 in 2009 well for a 15 year old kid like me money is hard to get I mow grass, do dishes, wash cars baby sit.Nowadays all my friends talk about how awesome the ps3 is an there xbox 360's.And they ask me what do you have I say a ps2 there like hahaha!!!!!that system sucks .but all my friends are like rich people and there parents hand them out everything.well when I first saw the ps2 for [...] bucks it was a miracle I could finally get a game system after 4 weeks saving I make [...] bucks a week.......but I work my butt off. I couldnt wait for it to come in the mail I tracked my package every 2 hours haha.It took 6 days but it finally came its beautiful very sleek and small 45% lighter then the one before. the controller you get with it is light and cheap feeling but it isnt bad the only thing I did stupid was order the game and memory card card from a diffrent buyer so I had a controller and ps2 with no game after 3 more days I get the memory card well great! now weres the game 9 days later it came it was like winning the lottery when I got it I put it in the graphics are very good for a system thats been around for 10 years.The built in dvd player is also very good I threw my other dvd player out the window [not one of my best ideas]but I wanted to see what happened.Well over all its awesome yeah I would rather have a ps3 but for poor teens like me this is the best option.The graphics are pretty good alot better then the super nintendo I had for 5 years.dvd player is also great It hasnt been picky with me yet.oh ya it also has 1700 game options one for every soul out there.plus since its 2009 the games are hitting rock bottom I got gta 3 for only [...] bucks from gohastings.Great classic system a good cheap buy to any teen or adult out there.

Be warned... the information page indicates that this is a Sony item, but not only is it a third-party item, but nowhere on the packaging does it indicate just who made it! (Stupid me for not carefully reading the reviews beforehand...) By putting the package model number (HC2-10080) into a Google search, I found that nobody else seems to know the manufacturer either! Plus, there are multiple reports of the memory being slow and unreliable. I might just have to return this... $20 for a knockoff, and a probable junk one at that? Hmm...Amazon, change your manufacturer line... the Sony name doesn't belong there!

While I have never had trouble with PS1 memory cards in my PS1, I only bought the 128 Sony product for my new PS2. Apparently, however, every time I play a game, it says there is no memory card inserted until I reinsert it with the game on and at the point where it asks to continue or not without a card. When I say 'no' after reinserting it, it recognizes it. This is a frustrating process, having to repeatedly remove and reinsert and not acceptable for either the price or the brand name. I'm a fan of Sony products but not this one.

This is absurd. 8 MB for $20? I just got an 8 GB flash drive for the same price. That's 1000 times more data storage. Which means, not including the production cost, this card costs 1000x more than it should. Besides, why didn't they just include a couple hundred megabytes of internal storage when they redesigned the PS2? What the hell?

I've been playing Ps2's for years. A year ago my chunky black ps2 no longer seemed able to hold up to my gaming sprees. So I gave it to a friend and bought this one.The only problem I have with it is having to work the universal control thing back into the slot if I switch to a different console. Because of the positioning its a little hard to get back in.But other than that, it's amazing. So small, yet its got all the power of the old one. I love it.You won't go wrong with this game system.

If you insert the card in your PS2 and it doesn't work, untighten the screws on the back of the card a bit. (there are 2). you will need a precision philips screwdriver.Put the card into your PS2 and boom, it works! Someone else suggested this and it worked like a charm. Seems like they are tightened too much at the factory and in some way, it interrupts the memory on the card.This card is great, holds a ton of memory, the most you'll need really. Haven't had a problem with it since. Fairly sturdy for what it is.

Well today I was just curiously reading through the ps2's low review ratings and I read a couple of things that i found interesting. for starters i'll tell you about my experiences with ps2s. I bought my first ps2 from an EB games in june of 2001 when i was 13 so it was about 8 months after the north american release on the system. And to this day, I've never had any real issues with my ps2 it still plays games and dvds well to this day. the only problem i ever had with it was it wouldnt play the older blue back discs but this was due to a lens focus problem. which is an easy fix if youre comfortable with taking your ps2 apart. also there were complaints with the durability and longevity of the ps2 and my comment on that is my ps2 has been dropped, pulled off my tv stand, sat in the trunk of my car in the middle of winter, got all wet while i was carrying from my car to my house in the rain, has been on for days at a time in the middle of august on the hottest of days and never overheated and worst of wall i had it in a bookbag and dropped it down the the last the steps of the stairs in my house... and theyre hardwood not carpeted steps. so all in all my ps2 has seen some serious abuse and still entertains me to this day 7 years later. sorry i never mentioned it but the ps2 i just talked about was the large original ps2.Now for what i think of the slim ps2. my sister got a slimline for her birhtday last july. and she has yet to ever any of the problems people have talked about in their reviews. she plays it daily and it works like a finely tuned machine. and as for durability with the slimline hers sits on a stand by her tv and its never been dropped or anything as far as i know and she leaves it on all the time and shes yet to ever experience any over heating issues. its never brought up the disc read error screen and plays most games... but the reason behind that is sony has updated the slimline over time with new hardware and lens that there are some compatibility issues with playstation 1 and playstation 2 games but sony has the games that that dont work posted on the playstation website.Well i dont have much more for today... i hope this helps you feel a little more comfortable about buying a ps2... its a really great system and i highly reccomend this system to anyone looking for some good entertainment with a huge library of games availible that comes at a very reasonable price considering the ps3 is going for $400 where as the ps2 is only $129.99.

This is one of the best systems every made. It has so many different types of games for every different type of gamer both young and old. The other great thing is that it's like having 3 systems in one, a DVD player, a Playstation and a Playstation 2!!!

this item wasnt great. i thought it would be awesome because it was 128MB but it hardly worked. i felt like i was using an old nintendo console where i had to take the memory card out, blow on it, and put it back into the memory slot on my PS2 and repeat this process until my PS2 will recognize the card. not recommended

Thanks for the person who suggested to loosen the screws on the back of the item. I, too, had trouble with the card - I certainly was thinking twice about buying. But what were the chances? Games would take forever to load and would often not find the required data, but would eventually when prompted several times. I took the suggestion of unscrewing the screws a little bit on the back of the card and have had no trouble so far. For those who have reviewed it negatively, give that a try!

Most people don't relize that these cardsare massed produced,and put together tight.The two very small phillips screw at thebackside just need to be loosen up in mostcases. just a little bit; enough so you canhear or feel the memory board inside move.Hope it worked for you.take it easy,Tony

Let's face it: Size matters. Less clutter. Less bulk.I had the original, fat Playstation 2 before owning this one, so I know all about oversized consoles (*cough* XBox*). It's hard to believe that the same (if not better) technology is in this newly redesigned slim version of one of the most famous gaming consoles. On top of that, it comes with ethernet, and the disc tray is different than the original. Loading times seem to be a little better but nothing to celebrate.This version is worth buying even if you have a Playstation 2 already. Just sell your fat one (you can probably get around 45 for a fatty) and buy the slim one. It's very compact (the pictures don't do it justice, trust me) and it will encourage you to take your console everywhere (long trips, friends' houses, etc.).

I really love this model of the PS2. Doesn't take up much room in my entertainment center, runs cool and quietly. And it still have some of the best RPGs being released for it (Persona 3 - 4, Kingdom Hearts REchain of Memories, ect).For those who needs to know, this is the newest model of the PS2 (SCPH 90001). The left side of the system has a glossy black finish and the power supply is in the system now (No power bricks like the previous slims).I had to buy this system because my new 80 gig PS3 doesn't have backward compatibility with any of the PS2 games. And also, I just don't understand why the accessories (Memory Cards & Controllers) are still so expensive for a 8 year old system. Other than that, it's an excellent purchase with the recent price drop.

When I saw it had 128mb I thought it would be great. Believe me, it is not, in fact it is awful. My PS2 won't recognize it, my games won't appear in my son's console, it says it is unformatted but when you try to format it, it won't work. I know it is cheap and gives you a lot of space but also a lot of trouble. My advice is get the SONY bundle(2 for $28), more expensive but quality guaranteed.

I was hesitant to buy this memory card because of the inconsistent reviews of "my carrying case" memory cards, but this thing is working perfectly. Saves and Loads games with no problem. Sony made a fortune with their puny 8MB cards. This is the exact same dimensions, and it holds 128MB. It seems they ran out soon after I bought mine. Sorry! I would definitely recommend this company and their memory cards based on the price and mine working perfectly with every game I've played so far. I'll update this review if the status of my card changes.*UPDATE*Stopped working after a couple months of use. Sorry for the long delay in updating my review :^\

I've always trusted Sony's products, and I've always liked the Playstation, so when I got this in 2004, I was pretty excited. Its extremely compact size is a big plus over the original PS2, and the fact that it lacks the powered sliding disc drive of the old PS2 (a common failure point) makes it incredibly reliable.I have put this poor unit through a lot of abuse, including accidentally dropping it against a hard surface, and leaving it on for literally weeks at a time. It has never missed a beat. I think it has frozen up on me twice in my entire ownership of it, during which time I have completed Gran Turismo 3 and 4, Burnout 3 and Revenge, Battlefront 1 and 2, SOCOM 1 and 4, CoD2, Corvette (a lousy game), Stuntman, and played numerous DVDs. So I'm not what you'd call a "light user."I highly recommend this console, and although there are much better games out now for the 7th generation consoles (360 and PS3), both of those are large and seem to have reliability problems that naturally come with higher technology. This is still a fun system and plays many of my classic favorite games.

This card is huge. Basically sixteen 8 MB PS2 memory cards in one card. Had some issues saving Kingdom Hearts 2 on this card, but I basically just used one of my other 8 MB PS2 memory cards instead and copied the saved data from that card onto my 128 MB card and was just fine at saving more files after that. That's the one reason it's not 5 stars. Overall though, if you're worried this card won't work or something just make sure you got a 8 MB memory card handy. I do highly recommend getting this card. Every game I've saved on this card has worked just fine except KH2. Maybe even get 2 to back up all your saved data in case one card gets lost or destroyed. Hope this helps anyone thinking about getting this card

The playstation 2 console is pretty good. Obviously it cannot compare with the graphics of XBox360, PS3 or Wii. But it does have a great variety of games available plus it has been out there for a while now so it seems to be more reliable compared to the new gen consoles who still have to fix a lot of initial bugs.I have been playing PC games all my life so if I want real good graphics I can always go to my PC games. The reason I went with PS2 was that I wanted to play games not available on the PC platform e.g Soul Calibur III, GT4, Resident Evil 4, MGS etc.Another advantage of getting a PS2 right now is that the games are pretty cheap as compared to those for the new gen consoles - around $20 compared to $49.99 for Wii and $59.99 for the XBox360. Plus you can get a lot of used games from ebay, EB games etc.I will be sticking with my PS2 for a couple of years. In the meantime the new gen consoles would have fixed their initial bugs and the console as well as game prices would have come down (hopefully). Then I might think of getting the new consoles.Thats what I meant by staying behind the curve.Remember....you are getting a video game to have fun and not admire at the graphics. The graphics certainly do enhance the experience but it can never replace a quality game design....playstation2 has a lot of good games out there.Remember that you will have to spend more than the $129 to get started. You will need to get component cables - $25 sony brand. I have not tried the other cheaper ones. I dont think they will be any different and you can save some money here. Also you need to get a memory card. I bought the 2-pack - sony brand for like $29. I think its worth since the single pack is for $19. You might also need to get an extra controller. So be prepared to shell out another $40-$55 for the cables and memory card.The component cables do make a lot of difference. Please buy them if you have a TV which has component inputs. In not then atleast get the S-video cable. Its definitely worth upgrading from the stock composite cable.Also, you do not need to buy an optical audio cable (toslink). It is used only for DVD playback. So if you have your own DVD player you do not need to get the cable for your PS2. The L-R RCA audio cables are enough since none of the PS2 games I know support digital audio. They do have a lot of games which support Dolby ProLogic-II e.g. Resident Evil 4, God of War etc. If you have a receiver which supports Pro-LogicII then its really great since it really sounds great when using ProLogic-II. For more info on Pro-Logic II I would recommend googling it up or look up Wikipedia. Pro-LogicII is a type of dolby surround system which does not require optical audio cables. The signal can be transferred through our regular RCA audio cables and the receiver decodes the information and creates the surround effect.Amazon shipping was great and before time.

Okay, I had been having problems for over a year with my first, original ps2 - disc read errors, some dvd/games that wouldn't work, and frequent disassemblies to try to remedy the problems.A couple of weeks ago, I finished with a ROUGH week of finals (senior in college) and wanted to get some games to celebrate. I went Saturday morning the day after finals and bought Resident Evil 4 and Gran Turismo 4(the game I was really after). I stick GT4 in, and the opening movie was going like 1 frame every 10 seconds and the disc was making a bunch of noise. So I figured I had to take it apart again and readjust the white dial that changes the lens height because it wasn't able to read the disc properly. The top cover of the playstation slid off my desk while I was working on it and pulled the power/reset ribbon cable out of the socket - so I had to fiddle a while to get that back in. Then, the controller/memory ribbon cable came out of the socket, and I fiddled with that for a while and could never make it go back in.Finally, I said SCREW trying to fix this, I'm getting another playstation. Although, I didn't drive back out that weekend to get another one, so I had two new games just sitting there doing nothing until Monday afternoon after work. Surprisingly, I had to look at 3 different stores before I found a slim Ps2.I've been using it for about a week, and I LOVE IT. It plays all my games, DVDs, its quiet (no noisy PSU fan anymore), I think it seems to load games slightly faster, AND it has a built-in IR sensor - I hadn't heard anyone mention that in all the reviews I read, but this is a GREAT feature - you don't need that bulky thing that takes up a controller slot anymore to use your DVD remote - and you don't have to reconfigure anything. Oh, AND it has a built in network adapter - I'm glad I didn't waste money on one for my old ps2. Also, I set up the network adapter with zero difficulty.I've heard the top-loading disc tray being considered a disadvantage. I disagree. Less moving parts - less possibility of malfunction! The lens is exposed for easy cleaning (or damage, so be careful). I think this design works for longer - just look at how long portable CD players work vs. bulky stereos that have ejecting cd trays. My past stereos always skipped during songs or wouldn't play it all, but he ol' discman always worked better.Also, no hard drive capability. From what I've heard, the hard drive is really only having if you want to play FFXI, but that game costs like $12 a month or something and I've heard it's not that much fun anyway.One other thing, I think I've read that the slim ps2's are difficult/impossible to mod. Not an issue for me, but maybe that would bother some people.I love this thing!!!

I waited ten (10) years to upgrade from my PS-one to a PS2. I thought about the PS3, but could not justify the added expense. The PS2 has great graphics and reaction. I bought this just to play God of War (which is awesome). This system is a great deal for only $125. Throw in a $25 Sony memory card and you are in business. The games are cheap and there a ton of them available. It also has playback capability, which the PS3 does not, unless you were able to get one of the 60GB models which are now no longer available. This would still be great for kids who are cool enough to be able to live without the latest and most expensive model. Maybe in 10 years I'll look to upgrade to the PS3.

I never played with a console game (oops tweny three years agoatari vcs 2600), in the modern age only I played PC games platform,But I think, PS2 is a solid platform still, is so good.This stuff is so good, the size, the graphics. PS2 live!!!!!Ahhhh the prize is fabulous...

After ten solid years, my original PlayStation 2 finally stopped reading discs -- the optical drive failed. I was a little wary about replacing my trusty machine with the newest super-thin PlayStation 2 because it looked like I could break it if I held it too tight. My fears have been totally obliterated. This version of the PS2 not only has all of the features of the the previous versions but comes in a much more stylish package that is strong and durable -- the ultra-thin case makes for easier integration into a home theatre's entertainment centre, the IR (infra-red) port on the front makes use of a remote control (for DVD functions) a brain-free exercise, and the top-load disc drive is much more friendly than the tray-load drive that had a tendency to stick or fail entirely. I wouldn't recommend throwing out a working PS2 in favor of getting this version, but if you are in need of a new PS2 for any reason, then this is the version you want to get.

I like this game. I always wanted a game console but could'nt realy afford it. So when I saw that the price was pretty low on amazon.com I just had to snatch it. Along with the credit card it made it realy easy for me to get.
