Bought this used and it came quickly in pretty good condition. It works great, and does everything it is supposed to. Just make sure you don't get any of those huge 256MB cards - they don't work at all, and corrupt saved games. The classic official cards are the way to go.

These memory cards allow multi players ame stats to be saved. They allow you to stop and save game points and continue where you left off and not lose the data you worked so hard to acheive. good purchase.

Of course you need to have a memory card if you're going to save your God of War or Madden game! Even with the shipping cost, it was still cheaper than buying one of these at Gamestop.

For any one who likes to play games would def want to save the progress. There is nothing like loosing progress you have made. So yes every one needs to have a memory card.

The memory card could only save PS2 data on it but the PS2 couldn't read from it. I don't know if it's because Sony's stamp isn't on this or if the PS2 was just dirty. But this product did not work the way it's support too.

bought ps2 machine a year ago from this seller keith1981 but didn't use it for one year(my fault, should've found the problem earlier), did contact seller shortly after i received the product but was led to believe my memory card has problem not the machine, bought a brand new memory card recently, machine still gave me same message "memory card not inserted", went to several game stores in my neighborhood, was told the machine is defective

The seller was fine and not misleading but the product is not good. Easily corruptible data and though the size is good, it's not useful when you can't save anything on it. Just go get a Sony memory card.

Within the past year, I've purchased the Wii and the Xbox 360 for my family. My wife loves the excercise titles on the Wii and DDR titles on both consoles. My 7-year old and her friends love the Wii Sports and other kids games. I enjoy the superior graphics and gaming experience on the 360. I am planning to get a PS3 next year. I had never even considered purchasing the PS2. Like some of the reviewers that one-starred the PS2, I wondered why it was even on the market anymore when there's superior gaming consoles available these days.Well, my little brother still has his PS2, so I would play it sometimes when I went to his house. Although the games certainly don't have the same quality graphics and sound as the 360 or PS3 obviously, I realised I still had a blast playing them. I noticed that most PS2 games sell for really cheap on Amazon, so I picked up a few games to take over with me to his place when I would visit. I love classic fighting games, so I was very pleased to find the Street Fighter collections and King of Fighter series on the PS2. Not to mention Soul Calibur 2 & 3 along with several Tekken and Mortal Kombat titles. Playstation 1 games are also fully compatible with no problems. You've also got the classic GTA titles, God of War 1 & 2, Castlevania (two 3D releases and two 2D titles via PS1 compatibility), Jaws, and the list goes on. My wife was excited to find out there are eight DDR titles on the PS2 and my kid loves the Eye-Toy games. To top it off, there are retro game collections from Capcom, Namco, Taito, Midway, etc. featuring games from the 90's that I loved playing as a kid. That's just the beginning of a huge library of thousands of PS2 games available and thousands more via PS1 backward compatibility. That was enough to sell us. It's been three months since we got the PS2 and we love it and play it just as much as the other systems. The other great thing is that we've been able to bulk up our PS2 game library at only a fraction of the cost of the other two consoles. This particular PS2 model is lightweight and comparatively small to other consols.Now I know why Sony is still shipping PS2s and why people are still buying them even after a decade; It still delivers a high-quality gaming experience which is not too far away from the 360 and PS3, and it does so at a lower cost. I think the only people who wouldn't like the PS2 in this day and age are die-hard gamers who demand nothing less than the best current 7th-gen graphics and online experience. For lighter gamers such as myself and for families who are looking for alternate gaming entertainment besides the Wii, the PS2 has a lot to offer.Suggestions: If you have an HDTV with progressive scan, there are several PS2 titles that support that format when using a component cable. You just press the X and delta buttons simultaneously when starting up the game. For a better picture quality, use an S-Video or component cable. Also, if you plan on getting Playstation 1 games, you will need to get PS1 memory cards as the PS2 memory cards don't work with PS1 games.

This product doesn't let you save American made games it let me save one partnered with a foreign game maker but not any of my other games. I would not recommend this product.

There isn't much to say here. Works 100% as intended. Long cable if I need it. Works with a ps2 to usb adapter just fine. Original, high quality controller. Would (and in fact have now) purchase again.

PlayStation 2 Console Slim - Black This is just really Great. I am soooo very EXCITED about my purchase. This is my very first video game system and I am still trying to get used to it. It is very small and very much so light weight by all means of the term or pharse. It sorta looks like a toy and very small LOL. I am just so happy about this. The Sony PS2 is easy to set up and easy to operate and it is very user friendly. The price was super cool and Amazon.com's Customer Service Rep. Mary was so beyond wonderful and helpful to me as well. This review is not just for the PS2 but it's also for the Rep. Mary or whatever her name is. I think that's her name, but anywho. When I had a problem with the game I purchased 2 months ago she helped me. I wanted the Pop Caps Hits Vol.2 and I bought it. However; I was renting a Brand New PS3 Move and I couldn't play the game on it. I sent it back and only got a partial refund. When I called Mary helped me out and also took the time to find me a PS2 so I could repurchase the Pop Caps Hits Vol.2 again. I really wanted that game and now. Thanks to Mary I have a Brand New User Friendly PS2 Slim and the Pop Caps game I wanted. Mary I truely Thank God for you being so wonderful and taking the time find me a New PS2 game console so I could get the game I wanted. If you have to purchased a PS2 then grab you one here on Amazon.com.OH and by the way, they have this Sweet Silver PS2 on Amazon.com for sale as well. I bought the PlayStation 2 in 2009 for $129.99 and was exited to bring it home and play my first game on it. I have always love Nintendo games the most and still do but there are so many neat games you can get on the PlayStation 2 that you can't get on Nintendo. Yeah, yeah, the PlayStation 3 has better graphics. What some people just don't realize is that not everyone can just take four hundred dollars out of their wallets for a console and sixty dollars for one game. The economy's down and video games are not on most peoples mind. It took me three months of delivering newspapers and walking a dog to get the PlayStation 2 and I like that I can afford a game for a fair price. I love the color silver and it looks so nice on the PlayStation 2 but scratches are easily seen if it's been roughed up a bit.The console is not just a video game device, it also play's DVD's! I was excited when I found this out so now I know if my DVD player ever breaks down I can play DVD's on my PlayStation 2 until I buy a new DVD player. All you need to do is use your joystick to move through menus and the x button to select you program. If you don't like using your controller as a remote there's a nice PlayStation 2 remote but is not included with the console. Also, the PlayStation 2 can play PlayStation 1 games but only if you have a PlayStation 1 memory card, because you can't use the PlayStation 2 memory card for PlayStation 1 games. Being able to play DVD's and PlayStation 1 games on one console is a huge reason to get a PlayStation 2 if you're on a low budget, because Nintendo can't play DVD's.While yet I love the Nintendo's controllers a tad bit more I would like to say that the PlayStation 2 controllers joystick is much more durable. It's not hard to master down the controls either, the controller that's included in this set has wires though but they do sell wireless PlayStation 2 controllers as well.Now I've never owned the older bulkier PlayStation 2 but I would like to say this one saves a lot more space and runs just as well, and I was surprised at how many neat games you can get for the PlayStation 2 that are not sold on the GameCube. There's a great racing series called Gran Turismo that has impressive graphics, tons of retro games and if you're into Sonic the Hedgehog this console is for you. In all there are over one thousand games made for the PlayStation 2, and there are plenty of family friendly games as well.Well I've raved about this console enough but I would like to say one last thing, great graphics don't make a great game and there are tons of great games on the PlayStation 2, don't listen to the people who say the PlayStation 2 stinks, it's a great console and a great affordable buy.
