No (first party) settings app for macOS!
Read a lot of great reviews and bought this to use for video calls for work at my desk on my M1 MacBook Pro.

Did not occur to me to check first whether the Razer settings app (Synapse) would run on a Mac. It doesn't.

The camera technically works via plug-n-play but the focus, white balance, and other settings can end up funky by default, especially when I use it for Google Meet calls in Chrome. (seems to use the 720p 60fps mode by default, which looks grainy compared to the 1080p 30fps mode)

Fortunately I found a great open-source macOS app that can interface with the camera called "CameraController" -- if I open it and tweak settings I can get the video looking very good. But this app is not trivial to install if you're not familiar with installing open source software with homebrew on macOS.

So buyer beware, if you're buying for a Mac like me. But in 1080p 30fps mode with white balance and exposure set to auto, it's a great picture. If I had known, I might have bought the pro for full-HD at 60fps or something from another brand with a first-party macOS settings app.

A Little Grainy, But Damn Good Auto-Focus
As the headline says, the picture's a little grainy (in part due to my own lighting I'm sure), but the auto-focus is great if you have ANY lighting in the room. Easy to configure via Razer's software, but it works perfectly fine out of the box.

great webcam, pricy tho...
I don't know much about webcams and streaming but i'm mainly a zoom and teams user and that's where i have to be on camera. It is a simple work related environment and i think this does the job excellently. I don't need all the special bell and whistles to do my job but i do like an aethetics to feel good about what i have. And, this no different. Razer has really nice looking tech and this mid tier webcam is amazing. 1080p at 30fps is good enough to talk to my boss and team members. I don't need them to see my blemishes nor point out food on my shirt or whatever. Tho, this camera has really good picture quality in my opinion. i think the 60fps would be nice but at the 1080p. Is it worth the extra $20 when the pro is on sale? not in my use case... i can get away like a bandit with this camera setup and still have $20 for the arm or base for it, which i used. So value wise, i have spent $100 on a camera and mount that will take my work calls to the next level. No more Laptop cameras and noisy pictures.

And, like i said the aesthetics of things are really important to me but not sacrificing the quality. I think Razer did a great job with this webcam and i'm happy i was able to pick this up.

the Setup was excellent and with Windows10 you can change some of the minor settings through there without needing the Razer app. I think if you need to fine tune then you can take advantage of that, but i'm happy with the default setting right out from the box.

Great Webcam for streaming
I needed a 1080p 60fps webcam for streaming after my Logitec Streamcam failed (cord broke). I love this product, especially since I have Razer peripherals and it uses the Synapse software. One minor flaw, the cord is too short. They should know by now that gamers need longer cords for different types of setups. A 6 foot cord is just too small, I can't imagine making the cord 8 feet would've been detrimental.

No Off Switch or Lens Cover! If Privacy Matters to You, Buy The Pro
I'd seen reviews of the Kiyo Pro and assumed that both it and the Kiyo came with a lens cover. They don't and here's the thing: Razer doesn't sell that accessory for the Kiyo X. So if you want a bit of privacy without reaching behind your computer to unplug the cable (which is permanently attached on the camera side), you'll either have to (i) find a template for a lens cover and print it on a 3D printer or (ii) pay a ridiculous price on etsy or eBay. BTW: Most covers on etsy fit the first Kiyo or the Pro, but not the X. The only ones that fit this camera are around $25 ($12.00 to buy and, supposedly, $13 to ship).

The lack of any provision for privacy at $89 in 2022 was the deal-breaker for me.

Additionally, the lens and resolution quality on the X aren't as good as on the Pro. Also, the Pro can be swiveled from left to right and its USB cable is detachable. At the usual $10 difference in price, you will lose money and quality if you choose the X.

One caveat: prices can change.

If you're looking at the Kiyo X right now (5.12.22), it's $20 cheaper than the Pro. Usually, the difference is $10. So if you *really want* lower-quality video at 1080p, a cable you can't remove, no left-to-right orientation and no accessories whatsoever, you can pay only slightly more by buying the X on Amazon and a 3D-printed lens cover on Etsy. I hope that helps you!

With the Pro, there's a firmware issue you can search for and read about. I found a way around that issue and will post my method in an Amazon review for that webcam.

Great Webcam, very happy with it
I bought this webcam to replace a $30 webcam I had previously that had absolutely terrible focus, so this was a major upgrade. I'm not a huge stickler for whether it holds steady at 1080p or 720p at 60fps or not, I'm more just making sure my face and background are clear enough, and this camera certainly makes it so. just make sure your lighting is good!

I bought this because I saw a colleague on a video call and was blown away by the crisp, accurate picture and had to get one for myself. I've tried half a dozen different webcams, and not a single one comes close to the quality of the kiyo in any price tier I could find. The one gripe I have is that without the ring light, you will need some sort of ambient lighting. Otherwise a perfect product.

Very badass webcam in terms of speed, ease of use, and quality. The only thing is that it doesn't capture light well. Tested with zoom, Skype, and Microsoft teams and it's the same on every platform. Otherwise it's great

Visual Grain
The last image is my phone camera, the second image is the razor camera at best visual quality and highest fps (25 fps)

Razor has a quality assurance issue with their products. It's a coin flip whether your camera will be good or not. I got unlucky and got a bad model.

If you turn off auto exposure in the application, the camera darkens (1st image). Manually setting the exposure fixes the grain issue (3rd image), but the fps drops to less than 5 so it's not worth it for video streaming.

Synapse is also a bad program. If I use the camera with other applications, the settings made in Synapse are not saved and have to be done manually in programs like obs.

Sadly, I lost my box so I'm unable to return the product. The $100 price tag is absolutely not worth the coinflip camera quality.

Razor dropped the price by 37% on their website so I suggest buying there if you want it.

Do Not Buy If You Are A Mac User
This webcam seems quality enough. Not amazing, or anything but pretty good. If you are looking to gain some control over things like exposure, color, etc.. and you are a Mac user then do NOT buy this. Razer does not support Mac. I returned it. Also, if you buy a new MacBook Pro the built in camera is actually much better so you don't even need this one. Do we even need webcams anymore? The next level beyond this built in would be an actual camera with manual controls.

Great Webcam for Most, Lacks Privacy Options
My wife and I work from home—me on occasion and my wife full-time. We ordered the Razer Kiyo X Webcam and have used it off and on for over a year. This is primarily an excellent webcam but does have some curious shortcomings.

►Privacy Concerns:
I'll start with the biggest issue with the Kiyo X; it doesn't have any privacy settings or a physical shutter built-in. So, if you are genuinely privacy conscious, you'll need to unplug the webcam from your device every time. The lack of a physical shutter is bizarre since even my most basic laptop has a physical shutter that I can close when not using the webcam.

►Razer Synapse:
The Kiyo X is plug-and-play ready, but you should use Razer's Synapse software to get the most from it. With Synapse, you'll be able to customize a slew of settings for the webcam to enhance the picture and overall quality of your cam session.

►Versatile:
The Kiyo X is versatile too. You can use this webcam with a tripod or without. We primarily use the Kiyo X with one of our laptops or our main desktop workstation. It's easy to mount on a flat surface or the top of a monitor.

►Closing:
This is an excellent webcam minus the lack of privacy options. Recommended.

Works well but the price point is a bit high for what you get
This is a decent beginner camera to have if you are planning to do some beginning streaming. You are definitely getting the webcam that works well at 720p. If you go 1080p you do get a bit choppier. I ended up getting this to dab into twitch streaming and for the most part it works as intended. This device will work with any computer and MAC and does not require any software to really get it to work but there is software provided if you wish to enhance your experience. Just to test it, I was able to plug this into my desktop and mac. The camera was able to default and work right away even on laptops which is great. You can install the additional software to get the most out of the camera but honestly it works well right out of the box. The overall camera design look is nice and simple. The camera does try to auto focus if it becomes blurry. I did try it on a zoom meeting and for the most part it works pretty well. You are getting decent quality and bright pictures. It can be mounted on top of your monitor without the need for tools or adhesive. The wire also gives you enough slack so it can work for desktop or laptop. The cable is also sturdy so you do not have to worry about it breaking or fraying. There is not too much lag in the picture when doing 720p but you do get some on 1080p. I recommend getting a separate device for microphone capability. The stand is fairly sturdy and simple design. It can it most monitor or tv screens (minus CRT). One thing to note is that the device is that the device front is a smooth finish so it is too easy to scratch. There are light indicators to show if the webcam is on or not. There is no cover for the webcam so be aware of that. The picture quality I would say is best at 720 p and transmitting quality is going to be dependent on your internet speed. Honestly for the price you are paying for this camera, it is not the top of the quality. It does auto focus so so tou can control the focus yourself as well but it has limitation which make me wonder why it costs this much Overall I think this camera is great IF you are a beginner trying out live streaming. It can be used for work from home as well. It does a decent job for me during zoom meetings. The only thing I hate is the microphone option for this.

Easy on-display mounting, improved quality and brightness
This camera is truly plug and play. I took it out of the box, plugged the USB cable into my Mac, and it was immediately shown as a choice in any software that can use the camera. I can easily switch between the built-in webcam on my computer and the Kiyo X, which makes comparing the two very easy. The Kiyo X is much better than the built in camera. The field of view is slightly wider, the image quality is better, and the brightness of the image is much better. What looks like a dark room on the built-in camera shows up nice and bright using the Kiyo X.

Since Razer doesn’t make their software for Mac I’m unable to use any of the more advanced settings on the camera, but the fact that it works as soon as you plug it in is really all that I need. I can easily swap it between my personal computer and my work computer and not have to worry about getting into trouble at work since I don’t need to install anything on the computer to make the Kiyo X work.

The built-in stand/mount works very well and quickly sets up on your laptop or monitor. Simply sit the camera on the edge of the display and use the folding panel on the back to secure it against the back of the display. Once you’ve got it securely setup you can then pivot the camera up and down to get the angle that you want.

You can also use the built-in mount to sit the camera on a flat object, and there’s a standard size tripod hole if you’d rather set it up that way.

The only downside of this camera is that it is a little large compared to some other cameras. It has a large ring around it even though the ring isn’t used for anything. Razer makes a similar camera that has a built-in ring light around it, so this one is the same design, just without the light. It’s not a big deal, but it will definitely make your laptop screen tilt easier when it’s sitting on top due to the added weight, and it might be just a little harder to travel with since it will take up slightly more space in your bag. I don’t think these are necessarily bad things, just something to be aware of.

Overall this is a great camera if you need a camera on your desktop monitor or if you aren’t happy with the quality of your laptop camera. Another nice benefit is that you can mount the camera somewhere other than the top of your monitor so you can capture different angles or even handhold it if you need to show your audience something that would normally be off-camera.

Razer's value priced camera beats the Logitech C920/C922 series
Razer entered the home webcam market with a bang, with the distinctive Kiyo webcam. This webcam combined a good quality 1080p camera with an integrated ring light. Now, there are those, including myself, who found the integrated ring light more a gimmick than of real value. But the camera itself was of fine quality.

Then, early this year, Razer upped their game with the Kiyo Pro camera, which offered better resolution, better capture elements, and all-around better picture. It was, and remains, one of the very best home webcams you can buy. I have reviewed it elsewhere. However, that camera runs about $200--outside the price range of many consumers.

Now, Razer has introduced the Kiyo X. This builds upon the success of the original Kiyo webcam but omits the integrated ring light, and lists for around $80. That puts it at less than half of the (superior) big brother Kiyo Pro, but firmly in competition with the well-established and liked Logitech C9xx series (C920, C922, etc.). Like the Logitech series, it offers 1080p streaming at 30 fps. It can also capture 60fps if you drop down to 720p resolution.

Build quality is acceptable. It feels and looks comparable to the Logitech series, but inferior to the hefty and impress Kiyo Pro. It comes attached to a monitor mount, just like the Logitech. You can adjust the tilt up and down when placing it on your monitor, but not the left-right direction (same as the Logitech; the Kiyo Pro allows left/right physical adjustment).

Installation only requires plugging in the USB-A cable. If you want to adjust the settings of the camera (color, contrast, tilt, etc.) you need to install the Razer Synapse package. This is a hefty installation, and, honestly, feels like overkill for just working with a Razer webcam (it also integrates with other Razer peripherals and games, if you are fully in the Razer ecosystem).

The camera quality is good. I compared it to a Logitech C922 camera installed on the same computer. See the attached photos to see the A/B examples. In short: The Razer picked up more detail, including details of my face and the moire pattern in my shirt. The Logitech C922 offered less detail and a somewhat more washed-out look. Both webcams look OK on their own, but in direct comparison, the superiority of the Razer becomes clear. The Razer also offers a somewhat broader field of vision (see photos). Depending on your needs, this is either a feature or a negative.

Autofocus for the camera is good, and I never experienced issues in this respect. This contrasts to the first iteration of the Razer Pro, which suffered from an autofocus bug that required a hardware replacement.

On the whole, I like this webcam a lot, and actually consider it superior to the similarly priced Logitech C92x series. Razer should have a hit on its hands here.

One note: As mentioned, I previously ordered and reviewed the big brother Razer Pro webcam. While that's a great webcam, the first iteration had an auto-focus issue that required hardware replacement, and my experience with Razer in getting a replacement was not particularly positive. Just a note.

Good picture quality
I had been using a Logitech webcam, but got so frustrated with their current Ghub that would see the camera but not allow any adjustments to it. I had to load up their older gaming software to make any adjustments. I recently switched over to a Razer keyboard from a Logitech as well due to my frustrations with their G hub software and have been pretty happy with using Razer Synapse.

After plugging in the cam, it showed up immediately in Synapse. Synapse was being a little fiddly with me when I was trying to make adjustments to the picture. The Synapse controls worked fine, but they're limited and have no zoom. My setup utilizes a 65" TV as a monitor and I'm back about 4 feet on the sofa with the keyboard on my lap. While the Kiyo X did a fantastic job of capturing my entire living room, I really want to be able to zoom in so it's pretty much just me. Synapse has no zoom at all, and I had to launch Windows camera controls to zoom. I had to quit Synapse to do the adjustment too, since Synapse kept wigging out every time I tried launching the Windows camera controls. Those controls allow a zoom of 140% max which was just not enough. It's still showing way more of my living room, and me than I prefer.

I did a search and ended up reading on a few forums that everyone that wants more zoom has the issue I'm having. Apparently the only fix was to use a 3rd party software, and I tried out one of the suggested ones that resolved my zoom adjustment issue.

I've only used 2 companies web cams now, but I've found that the native software controls for each seem to be garbage. Swell. This cam does however have a much nicer picture than the Logitech C920 though both do 1080p resolution so I prefer this one over my Logitech, software aside.

Checked all the boxes!
I was in the market for a camera that I could use for online meetings and after reading the description of this Razer Kiyo X, I thought I would give it a try.

The camera worked straight of the box for my windows 10 and windows 11 computers. I am always skeptical about the video quality of these cameras because they claim to be 1080p and when plugged in, they just disappoint. I am glad to say that this is NOT the case with this camera. I was pleasantly surprised by the video quality. The autofocus feature works perfectly fine, I have only tested this feature in a well lit room. I run the camera at 1080p 30fps and for the price, I think you get an above average image quality.
Razer also offers an app to customize some of the features of the camera, which I personally did not have to use but it was nice to have.

There are no major cons that I could think of at the moment.

Overall, you get an above average camera for under $100. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is beginning to stream and is maybe not looking to break the bank, or just for any other regular consumer who lacks a video camera on their computer system. I hope this review helps you make an educated purchasing decision.

Good webcam, lacking one basic feature which is a shutter for privacy
This review is for the Razer Kiyo X Full HD Streaming Webcam. In the box it comes with the camera itself safely packed away but not much else. A little manual and that was it. This can be mounted to your monitor as well as screwed onto a standard webcam/camera stand.

Image quality. This looks much better than I had anticipated for 1080p. I think the difference here is Razer using a quality camera vs other cheap webcams that claim 1080p but are actually less. The image on here is very crisp and I was surprised by how nice it looked. In video calls there is no lag or issues I can detect it just works and looks great. This is capable of 30 fps at 1080p and 60 fps at 720p but I don't think very many people will need the 60 fps.

Razer software. If you have other Razer gear then you already have Synapse installed for it and will not need to install any other programs here. This allows you to tune your white balance, saturation, contrast, brightness as well as set up various profiles for these settings. You can also do this through windows as well if you do not wish to install the software. The only thing you won't be able to do is set up profiles and change between them. The camera works great without the software in my opinion.

Right away the one thing I dislike for this camera is that it has no way to close the lens for privacy. To me this is a standard feature and for it to be missing is a little disappointing. What I am doing now is just draping a small cloth over it and that works well. Another thing I disliked was the cord on here because the way it comes it is in a very small coil and the cord stays coiled up even after you try to straighten it. I am sure this will change with time but right now it is a little annoying.

The way this grips the top of the monitor is great. I have had nothing but trouble with other webcams but this thing has a great grip on it and isn't going anywhere. Normally my monitor is a little too thin and weirdly shaped but this does a great job. This impressed me because not many cameras can sit on this monitor.

Overall this is a good webcam for many uses. If you are getting into streaming this is a great budget camera to get started. It also works wonderfully as a video call or meeting camera at home if you need it for that. It is in direct competition with many other good webcams at this price point.

Great evolution of the Kiyo line by Razer
As continues to diversify it’s peripheral offerings, it’s taken a big step here in creating multiple levels of it’s now “famous” Kiyo webcam. The first generation Kiyo was a one-size do it all model, with great image quality, color reproduction and a built-in light that could do anything you’d want, but at a higher price point than some were willing to stomach. With the second generation, Razer has evolved to multiple levels - you can get the Pro with lots of features (though no light now) for a high end price, or you can get the slightly more modest X for a much more modest price. While you lose the light from the first generation - external ring or cube lighting is still valuable to image quality, but it’s easy to find LED lights these days - you get a super solid camera that is actually faster focusing than the higher end Pro (at least in my head to head testing) and multiple ways of mounting - both the flexible monitor top mount and a 1/4” thread for mounting on a tripod.

The image quality is top notch as is the color reproduction. I would put it up against the Logitech cameras on image quality and better on color. It does lose the ability to go to 60 frames per second at 1080p/FHD, but most streaming and video conferencing services don’t really offer that anyways (interestingly, most movies / cinema are at 24fps…this can do 1080p 30fps all day). And that’s who this is meant for - it’s meant for those that are streaming / video conferencing all day (and, really, who isn’t doing at least some of one of those things now) - where you are willing to trade high FPS that wouldn’t be supported anyhow for image/color/focus quality in a reasonable price. And the Kiyo X excels in this market.

So if you’re streaming or video conferencing, this is definitely a good camera to take for a spin!

One of the best webcams I've tried
I've tried quite a few webcams since the pandemic, and most have been garbage. Was happy to get a Razer Kiyo X through the Vine program as I am a fan of the company. Out of the box, I was surprised by how big and heavy it is. This is definitely not in the same league as Logitech's webcams. All the parts are wellmade, and the picture quality is one of the best I've seen. Auto-focus is pretty good, though I wish there was a manual focus option.

That being said, I do have some gripes. I knocked off a star because it doesn't have a privacy cover. It honestly should be standard for all webcams at this point. The weight of it could also be an issue if you're trying to use it with a laptop, but then you could use a tripod. And although it is Plug and Play, you do need the Razer Synapse app to fully customize picture settings and such, which is a bit annoying.

Overall, for the price, this is definitely a top-quality webcam. If you don't want a Logitech and are considering streaming, the Razer Kiyo X is a great option.

Good but maybe oversold in quality
This is a good webcam. No two ways about it. But I do think it’s a tad oversold in its abilities esp in low light conditions. Maybe I am used to what new smartphones offer and it’s not fair comparison but in not so perfect lighting, the image has lot of noise. Generally speaking it is a solid webcam, breezy setup and just works out of the box. I think it’s slightly pricey for what it offers but if budget is not a consideration, this is a good one to get.

A more affordable version of the Kiyo
This is basically the same Webcam as the original Razer Kiyo(which is one of the best you can get for the price), just without the built in ring light. It has great camera quality and is a significant upgrade compared to webcams that come with most laptops, even expensive ones that cost over $1300. Most all laptop webcams tend to be low quality, except for a handful of models that actually prioritize giving you a good camera.

The image using this webcam was noticeably brighter and sharper compared the one in my MacBook Pro 13”. The Audi quality was decent, but I would recommend using a real microphone if you have one or are planning on doing a lot of video calls, just a small amount of money will go a long way to make you sound better. My laptop recognized the webcam automatically, but I had to use a USB C to USB A adapter because this uses the older USB connector type. I like that the stand allows the webcam to be propped up without needing a tripod or by needing to balance on the top of the laptop lid. Since the webcam is a large circular shape, it would’ve been difficult to get it to balance properly on the thin lid of my MacBook.

The webcam looks well built and solid, I think it will last a long time hopefully. I am a fan of the “X” products that Razer puts out, they’re basically a more affordable version of their more popular products, but they still live up to the quality that the brand is known for.

Better design than the original Kiyo
This Kiyo X has a much improved design over the Razer Kiyo which I've been using for about a year now and has completely fallen apart at the stand with no way to fix it. It's a shame because the video quality is great and it has the ring light built in. This version doesn't have the light, but it seems to have the same great camera which has a very clean 1080p lens. For streaming your face or for video conferencing, 30fps is fine and I use mine at full HD. If you need 60fps, the 720p mode still looks better than most webcams, thanks to the good quality optics Razer is using.

Ok so the camera is good, that's great. But what about the mount? I mentioned that the original Kiyo totally fell apart where the camera unit mounts to the base. Well thankfully this new design has a lightweight base that still clamps on to any monitor or sits on a table, but it's less prone to falling apart now. This to me is a huge improvement and makes the camera so much more usable to me. I don't miss the ring light that much, it only really works if you are very close to it anyway.

I already had the Razer Synapse software installed from my other Kiyo and this uses the same software. You don't need to install it, and any software like Zoom, Skype, OBS, etc will work fine with this camera in Windows. I haven't tested this with Mac, but it's plug and play on Windows X.

Overall, I'm happy with the improved base and the camera quality is great for a webcam at this price point. There are probably better webcams out there but this one has a nice sharp image with almost no setup required and the camera has been very impressive for a casual user like me.

Good Camera
First of all, Razer Customer Service is just not great and for that it makes it difficult to get assistance when your product has an issue. This comes into play in all aspects of a device.

This camera is well made and easy to set up - simply plug it in. It features Auto focus or manual focus and you can swtch from 1080p 30FPS or 720p 60FPS with ease. You can also set up profiles featuring Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, and White Balance all through Razer Synapse 3.

This fits well on my computer screen or sitting on my desk or even a small tripod that I have.

Quality - Decent
Video Quality - Good - Picks up detail with no issues or lag
Price - Higher Price Point

Color balance and contrast are impressive!
Razer Kiyo X Full HD Streaming Webcam

I can honestly say that Razer has never once disappointed me and some products, like this webcam, really deliver exceptional performance. The most remarkable thing is that the image quality is *much* better than I've seen in a comparably priced webcam. Not only does it adjust well to different light levels (and ambient colors!) the autofocus is responsive and doesn't keep hunting trying to lock on. Its housing is different than most, but it has a solid construction, and the base is heavier than just a piece of molded plastic and also has a standard 1/4" thread for a tripod if you prefer to use one. It hangs comfortably on the top edge of a monitor and the hinges adjust for a wide variety of thicknesses and angles. The heft of the base also lets you place it on any flat surface and the rubberized edges mean moving the cord doesn't move the camera. The only thing that I would change about it is the USB cable is surprisingly stiff and I can't imagine why they designed it that way other than possibly designing it to be coiled and uncoiled frequently and they don't want the wires breaking internally. I've been using it as my WFH camera for the past three weeks and my coworkers have even commented on how much better the image is than the one I was using (which itself was a higher quality camera). Highly recommend.

Плохо

Great for PC :: Horrible for Mac
As a long-time user of various Razer products, from mice to keyboards to speakers, the opportunity to test out one of their cameras was well timed as my Logitech camera had recently stopped working.

My primary use-case for having a camera is for work and for work, MacOS is the primary operating system used by the entire company. While generally a non-issue, as was the case for the Logitech camera, for Razer, it presents a bit of an issue.

As much as I love Razer, support for MacOS is dreadful. While it's true, they do primarily target gamers and few dare play games on MacOS as it's simply not well-suited for such, however, for something as basic as a camera, I'd expect it to work well regardless of the OS. Having software comparable to Logitech's G Hub would be icing on the cake, if such existed.

For the Kiyo X, due to a lack of updated software for MacOS, the experience here is severely limited. While the Kiyo X is plug-n-play and it does work (as in, a picture is displayed), it's impossible to adjust settings to account for a lack of lighting. The picture is very dark on MacOS, whether due to the lack of a sensor, or lack of enabling the sensor due to a lack of software. The end result is a less than great experience out of the box.

Razer offers Synapse 2 for MacOS, however, the newer Synapse 3 is only available for Windows 10/11. It's a shame as the camera itself looks great and testing it on a Windows 10 machine, it works very well. Unfortunately, running the camera through a VM to pass through video from a VM to MacOS is a hacky workaround.

Works Great and Completely Plug and Play!
I was a little worried that in order to use this Razer webcam I would need to utilize the Razer software. This would be an issue as I would use the webcam on my work computer in addition to my personal computer. I was happy to find that this was not the case!

The webcam worked flawlessly out of the box and through the KVM switch I use to switch between computers. The L-clamp also works surprisingly well allowing you to place the webcam right on top of your monitor. I have a curved monitor that can give issues to other products like this, but the clamp allows for a wide thickness of supported monitors that works perfectly for my curved monitor. The L-clamp can also serve as a stand, if you would rather place the webcam on the desk.

The webcam itself can be adjusted up and down from the L-clamp giving you complete flexibility over the angle the webcam is operating from. The picture quality is really nice and comes through perfectly on zoom, but I am unsure what quality it defaults to without using the Razer app to configure it. I will also say that it's build is rather sleek and doesn't come off as a "gamer" accessory making it perfect for your WFH setup.

Overall, for the price point I would highly recommend this webcam for both business and personal use.
