Returned for refund sadly - otherwise great
So I bought this for my boy and me to play 2 player on fortnite (hate that game, but I digress)
It was a like new purchase, and I thought, as like new are generally tatty boxes with new products, I'd fibe it a whirl.
Lo and behold, when it arrived, it looked brand new, with very tatty box, I was happy.
The controller was so cool, and worked well at first, buttons worked, charged well, et.
Well, three weeks later, the controller wouldn't charge anymore, and they are now completely out of stock, so we have bought an official licensed wired controller to replace it, and I'll leave a review for that at a later time.
So 5 out of 5 for the product, but only 2 for the fact it went faulty. Sorry amazon

Absolutely trash!! Stopped working after less than 2 weeks!! Do not buy!!
So... bought one to replace my old one and then after a while the right analog stick started to drift! I thought maybe it was just time to replace it, so went to official Sony store and followed the link here and got myself another one and within a few weeks it started to drift on the right analog stick again!! It’s literally making playing my games impossible and as a streamer, I kinda need to be able to play my games!! Some games seem to be worse than others but regardless, spending this much money on a controller that becomes faulty in less than a few weeks is absolutely ridiculous!! Don’t know if it’s just the white ones that mess up, or if other colours are doing it too?! But I don’t have the box or anything as I thought I’d have this one for a while before it needed replacing so I can’t return for a refund!! I’m not happy at all, it actually kinda boils my blood that even after so many years, Sony are sending out faulty products to their consumers!!! Not happy at all!!!!

DO NOT BUY.... ITS A FAKE
This product is fake. DO NOT BUY. Firstly, the packaging came like it was already opened and just closed with cello tape. Secondly, the buttons are flat and in line with the controller when they should be coming out of the controller. This made it very difficult to press the buttons. The joystick material is different to the 4 other controllers I’ve had (2 of which are V2’s and 1 was the same green camo controller). I really don’t think you should buy this controller because for £50 you could get a real one. If you suspect your controller is a fake then return it ASAP because if it breaks then you won’t be able to get a manufacturer’s replacement.

replacement worse off than the controller it was to replace
purchased as a replacement, boy am l disappointed... having issues with older controllers with stick drift, this controller was to replace it, within 5m of use l found the right thumbstick to be a problem... originally thought it a glitch on the Avengers game but given some of the reviews lm more inclined to think that its the controller..
just imagine playing a game, hitting the L2 button then using the right stick to aim and just as you try and orientate your shot your camera goes completely nuts (attached a video of where l produced the issue imagine the camera spin issue while in battle but the frequency of it happening pretty much every few seconds).

Pulling left.
Bought as a player 2 controller, Worked fine for the first hour of use, then all of a sudden the
left analog stick started having a mind of its own. Un-useable especially on racing games as it just steers left without any input, whenever it feels like.
If youre not an ambiturner, and can only turn left, this is the ideal pad for you.
For that reason alone it has 1 star.
Rip off price for such a poorly made control.

100% Fake! Do not buy!
I have included multiple pictures comparing it to my black controller to show that it's 100% a fake item.
So for starters it's an okay fake, if I had paid £10 I would not be bothered, but as it is only slightly cheaper than everywhere else it is ridiculous.
So, things that I noticed without taking it apart:
Logo on the PS button is not neat
EXT and headphones font is stretched
No plastic outer on EXT/Headphone port
Font on Share and Options buttons is incorrect
Label underneath is on an angle
Analogue sticks are a firmer rubber
Comes with plastic film on touch pad
Light through touch pad is not accurate
Box is not officially Sony box
Comes with a USB cable, no real item has this

Analogue problem after 4 months.
The analogue sticks have the same old R3 (clicking the analogue stick) problem.
It doesn't register the when you click and hold down the right analogue stick. Things like running in call of duty, it will just sprint for a second and stop. This is for all games that make use of the R3 button.
It's a shame, the version I got, Midnight Blue, was released in 2018 and it's having the same issues as the original ps4 controller. They are now on their way back to Sony under warranty. Shame on you Sony.

Lovely Rose-Gold Colour.
Purchased on my teenage sons behalf for crimbo as what teenager doesn’t need a third controller for there PlayStation.
He assured me this was an essential item he absolutely needed and it just had to be rose gold despite it being more expensive to order this particular colour than a standard one.
I mean real-world problems and all.
I mean what do I know I’m old apparently.
Anyway it’s a lovely controller and works exactly how it should the colour is lovely also.
I also saves as purchased Black Friday week ( my pockets were thankful)
My son is a also happy with this despite not needing to use three controllers simultaneously once since Christmas sigh.
Joking aside this is a great controller that I would purchase again.

Terrible audio and inconsistent thumb sticks
Why can't Sony get some consistency in their controller manufacture, every controller I have bought over the years is wildly different?
This one is garbage! Thumb sticks have a massive deadzone then they're super sensitive so you try to aim, try to aim some more, then some more and then you zoom off target.
Some weird stuff going on with the audio socket as well - sounds are muffled and "dull". I plug my headset into my old controller - sounds great, plug it in to this and sounds flat and dull.
Additionally, my Sony Back Button does not work on this controller at all.
Sony controllers aren't cheap either so I really expect them to be better than this.
You might buy one and it's fine, but it always feels like a lottery whether you get one that works well in every area.

It seemed great, then.......
Edit: It became unusable pretty quickly on my PC, the right and left analogue sticks move randomly by themselves and the pad has hardly been used. If i go to the calibration screen you can see them moving for no reason even after carefully calibrating the controller, wired or wireless.. My xbox one controller works flawlessly... urgh

I'm using it on windows 10 with my asus bluetooth 4 adaptor, it works perfectly for all the supported games.
You can also use a program called DS4 windows, which allows you to emulate an x-box controller, this makes it compatible with almost any game. You can customise your buttons properly too.

Welcome upgrade from the original PS4 controllers!
The biggest notable changes in this revision of controllers (the V2) are a better battery, revised grip material, and a translucent strip on the touch pad so you can see what colour it is!
The finish on this green camo controller is great, and has made this controller my new favourite. The light bar is now more useful, as I can see what colour it is! The grips feel like they will last longer... the one downside is that the battery still doesn’t last that long!
I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this again, I just wish they had upgraded the battery more!

competitive price and available
After suffering many power issues with my original PS4 controller, and not being able to get through a campaign or mission, without a device warning, I decided enough was enough. So off I went to my supermarket to purchase a replacement. Put the appropriate packaging in my trolley, get to checkout, only to be told, it wasn't in stock, although it didn't say that on the shelf. So I ended up here, as per usual. Found the rose gold version. Had an Iphone in the same colour, so wasn't put off. Been using it for some time now, and have to say, I can go for considerably more hours without battery issues. Price a few pence cheaper than supermarket, happy with purchase.

The rose gold one is a legit PS4 one as can be seen I have purchased a copy before so compared them it’s a legit one ,
Fabulous feel no issues so far apart from it doesn’t come with a charge lead which is annoying but cheap enough to purchase would recommend

I'm not sure if it's just the white controllers that seem to be fake from reading these reviews, but thats what it seems like to me.
I already have 2 proper controllers so it's easy to compare differences.
It's clearly not as heavy as an official controller. There is an obvious input delay with this one as opposed to a real one, I play rocket league which really highlighted the delay and made the game unplayable. The buttons press down differently compared to a real controller, it's extremely noticeable on the D-pad. The fonts of writing on the controller and even the PS logo are clearly different to a real controller. All slight differences that some people wouldn't notice but to an avid gamer, it's obvious that something isn't right.
I wouldn't expect something like this to happen to the main Amazon recommended seller. Maybe try and get your controller from a different source or just avoid getting the white coloured controller.

Excellent controller, great quality, long lasting battery - Perfect!
My original Sony PS4 controller gave up the ghost recently (but not bad going for the abuse its taken over the last few years!) and so a new one was required.
Rather than take a risk on generic controllers, I felt more comfortable purchasing a genuine Sony product. Please understand that this is a personal choice - I'm not badmouthing other controllers, and I'm sure there are perfectly decent ones out there.
As to this controller, it's just perfect. The battery lasts around 12 hours or so when being lightly used (watching YouTube or Netflix for example) and about the same for an all night gaming session.
So in summary, a perfect replacement with the high build quality we expect from Sony.
Rather than take a risk on generic controllers, I felt more comfortable purchasing a genuine Sony product. Please understand that this is a personal choice - I'm not badmouthing other controllers, and I'm sure there are perfectly decent ones out there.

i brought this at oct 2018 and still performance is good , no issue observed yes ...enjoying the gameplay with pS4
