The headset is just OK as the plastic is too stiff. The Mic picked up all the sound but my voice. The mic stopped working after only one month of use.I would not recommend anyone buy this product.

I thought this was going to be the perfect headset, and it almost was. The problem is I can't wear it for more than 20-30 minutes without getting a headache; despite all the foam padding, the curvature of the headset itself applies direct pressure to the sides of my head (I don't have a wide head) and causes a headache very quickly. I've had to resort to putting the headset around my neck so that the mic still sticks out in front, and then use my speakers for game audio, which kinda defeats the purpose of a headset. So, I'm shopping for a different headset now.

These are amazing for the price, but seeing as how they dont have a power supply they arent as powerful as the turtle beaches or more expensive headsets. Still amazing...Recommended to ANYONE on a budget or not BUY THEM if you need something for gaming, listening to music, movies and so on...I will edit this if I run into a problem with them FYI.

Warning to those who do not know:If you do not have a sound card that supports USB sound connectivity, do NOT purchase any microphones or headsets that run on USB! These will not work unless you plan on purchasing and installing an all-new sound card in your computer that will support playing & recording audio via USB port.For those with older computers, it is a simple task to look at your sound card port (where you plug in your speakers/microphone - usually in the back of your PC)... If you see the green, red, and black standard audio ports, but NO USB on the same metal plate, then you should not get a USB driven audio device unless you are ready to upgrade your sound card in order to fully support these devices.There may be updates to the software or drivers on your sound card manufacturer's website, so check there as well before you decide not to get a USB sound device. However, 99% of the time, these USB speakers, microphones, headsets, etc. will not work without the proper physical USB plug on the sound card itself.Just a little FYI for those about to buy without checking.--Xo

The sound quality is ok. The microphone works well. But the headset is built with very cheap plastic material. I have to hold it delicately to avoid breaking it. Also, the head band adjustment mechanisims is not a good design and the headset won't grap your head good enough. It is very easy to slip off your head.

I've owned these now for 3+ years and I must say they remain excellent to this day. The adjustability of the head set allows for big and small heads and the soft velvety ear pieces still feel great after 100's of hours of use (mainly MMO gaming). The volume/mute mic controls on the cable still work and they're intelligently placed (includes a clip on the backside if you want to clip the control piece to your shirt). The sound quality highs/lows is nearly as good as the higher priced Sony set I use for my stereo. The adjustable boom mic diappears and locks in place when you don't needed it. Overall, this has been the best set of headphones I've ever owned and it's too bad that they are somewhat rare now and the price is far north of the forty-five dollars I spent years back.

These headphones have ZERO bass response and sound horrible! The sound quality actually hurts and has absolutely ZERO bass response. I cannot believe these were even made and they are offensive that anyone could even make such garbage. I never write reviews, but I just have to because these are so horrible. They are super cheap plastic crap not worth the postage, let alone the cost. Please do yourself a favor and save your money, do not buy these headphones.

I just needed a simple replacement for my VOIP headset for work.Simply put, this was more than I bargained for... the fit leaves a LITTLE to be desired but otherwise, PERFECT!The sound quality is better than the last plantronics headset I had and the Seller had it to me BEFORE promised.

This headset can be pretty tight on your head. Especially if you have a large one like I do. The sound quality is mediocre at best. The microphone works well and the overall headset is built pretty solid. For the price it is a fair deal. But if you are looking for excellent headset buy something else.

This is just great, i spent like 4 hours wearing them and the only thing i can feel around my ears is nothing... it doesnt sound too loud but not too low, i cant even hear my thoughts :), the mic doesnt support noise cancellation but everybody can listen to u quite good. Sounds even better than my Logitech X-530 XD.One thing i didnt like about this is when they are around my neck, u got to push yourself to take a look rite and left even to look down xD. I dont know about u but i will spend my money in this again ;)

As others have noted, the sound quality on this headset is perfectly adequate. The microphone seems to work well, too. However, I agree with the dissenters about the build quality.The microphone "mute" slider on the volume unit does nothing. I assume mine is broken, and I plan to return the unit. But both the slider switch and the small volume dial are extremely flimsy, so it doesn't surprise me that the slider was DOA.I also agree that the large USB to 1/4" jack converter is obtrusive and likely to be broken or lost. The wires, as others have noted, are quite thin and feel (too) delicate.Finally, the headset is comfortable, but the feeble foldable plastic headband offers soo little pressure that the headset doesn't feel secure on my head. (Maybe my head is too skinny?)In all, this doesn't feel like $40 worth of equipment.

I was directed to this product by a friend in the gaming community after my older headset started to have a lot of annoying feedback.The price on this headset is great for the quality it dampens out all the surrounding noise in the room so I only hear what i want to which is my guild mates on vent. and the alerts in the game.the only thing that would make this headset better was if I could switch which side the mic was on some how because of my computer setup I have a room mate that sits on my mic side so I'm constantly having to remove my headset to hear what they are saying.overall though best headset I have ever owned and only would consider upgrading to the Wireless version which from what I have been told works just as well.

When hooked to a PC they sound great. When using them on the Xbox 360 and thru my receiver they sound great. I hate the xbox game chat mic and this is a great replacement. The mic jack needs to convert from 3.5mm to 2.5mm. I had to config the in game audio a bit so I could hear my party chat, but it works perfectly.

1) I bought these for $50, and I was pleased with them overall. Now under $50, they're a great value.2) Primary gripe is they snapped in half with only light, normal use: wearing them, taking them off and setting them on the desk, repeat = snap. The break occurred 1-2 years after purchase.3) They are comfortable, with only some heat issues during marathon gaming sessions. That's probably true with any headset though.4) The foldable mic boom is nice, and the sound coming from it is good.5) Sound quality is nice, but nothing to write home about. You won't go "Wow!" but you won't be disappointed, either.6) I'm choosing to replace this product with a Logitech Wireless Gaming Headset G930 with 7.1 Surround Sound, so look into that if you want something nicer in a higher price bracket, that *hopefully* won't be as fragile.

When i received this product i was excited to put it to use, but after i got it out and put it on, it all just went down hill. Sure it looked cool and sounded good, but it was extremely uncomfortable. the speakers were concealed under plastic that would hurt my ears after about 5 mins of use. Also the mic worked terribly and all my friends could hear was an obnoxious clicking noise. I would not recommend this product.

The headset is ok, the base..will make you nearly go out get different headphones but the mic is darn good, responsive. If you are looking for a decent replacement for higher quality headphones these would be nice. The cord is braided so you don't get that tangled mess alot of headphones have.

Plantronics made its name in communications headsets. For instance, Plantronics products were the headsets of choice in NASA's space program in the 1960s and 70s, in spacecraft, spacesuits and ground control and tracking facilities. They invented the small, lightweight headset and virtually owned the market through those decades, also being the choice of telephone companies and air traffic controllers. But while Plantronics is great for voice communications, high fidelity audio has never been their strength.A case in point is the 645 headset. Like classic Plantronics corded headsets, they're light and comfortable. But the sound quality leaves much to be desired. Low-end frequency response is terrible. There seems to be significant roll-off below about 200Hz. In other words, there's almost no bass. You won't want to listen to music on these. Microphone quality is not great, either. This has a long, flexible microphone boom that you bend, twist and pivot to position directly in front of your mouth. On voice-over-IP like Skype, other people say it sounds fine. But speech recognition software is much pickier. MacSpeech's Dictate gives it only 2 out of 5 stars, and it prefers 3 or higher. Swiveling the boom up out of the way when you're not using it isn't very neat. The long boom sticks out from your head. You can bend it inward, but then you'd have to bend it back out when you need to use it. The leatherette ear cushions are comfortable enough, although the more swoopy headband can rub the ears the wrong way until you find the right position (tilting the band up and down) for your head.I prefer the Logitech Premium Notebook Headset. The Logitech has better sound quality, making it usable for music. The microphone boom is shorter but gives higher quality, garnering 4 stars on Dictate. When swiveled up to the headband, the boom is completely out of the way. Its straighter headband that doesn't swoop down behind the ears is more comfortable, although the supra-aural drivers that rest directly on the ears with only thin foam as cushioning isn't quite as comfortable after a few hours. Another aspect of the Plantronics that I don't like is the USB adapter dongle, which sticks out straight from the USB port. Combined with the analog headphone and microphone plugs, it requires at least four inches of clearance on that side of the computer. That also makes the dongle (and/or your USB port) more vulnerable to damage if you accidentally knock up against it. Logitech did it right, with a short cable leading to the adapter, so it needs less clearance and can't be damaged as easily. It's a better all-purpose USB headset.For an inexpensive voice-over-IP headset, the Plantronics 645 is fine. If you want to listen to music or movies as well, look to one of the companies known for their music headphones, like Sennheiser, Sony, Etymotics, Shure or Koss. For speech recognition, I recommend the Logitech mentioned above.

Extremely comfy especially if you have a small head. Mic seems kinda rickety but sound quality is very good. For the $$ this is a great pair of heaphones with a mic that is unnoticeable when rotated up into the arc piece.

I purchased this set for my husband, who is an online gamer. Since he is also a leader in a gaming clan, he needed something with quality sound, volumne control, and comfortable fit, while being affordable. We found all of these with this headset. The soft ear pads are very comfortable, and improve sound quality for the user while maintaining external silence. The inline volume control is very easy to control, the microphone is adjustable, and most important, the behind the neck fit is very comfortable for my husband who wears glasses. This is the second set of these I've bought for him. The first pair simply wore out where the wire connects to the headset. After purchasing other headsets locally, however, I ordered this set again for his birthday. He was thrilled. There really is no comparison for the cost. Very satisfied.

Pros:Great Price Great Mic Good sound quality Comfortable but hurt when you eat wearing them Awesome Padding Mic can be hidden strong build quality Decent Durability (drop and step on many times)Cons:low bass (what I expected from a headset less than 50) Goes into Mono in low volumes Padding is a dust magnet Adjusting the size of headset is flimsy Gigantic , don't plan no taking this outside or traveling with itAll in all, best headset I used so far. The pros far outweigh its cons and the price is the deal closer. 9.5/10!

Read some of the other reviews talking about how tight these are. Took a chance and ordered anyway. Should have listened to the reviewers. I couldn't keep these on my head for more than 10 minutes without a headache. Plantronics needs to learn what a "focus group" is all about because it's clear they're not conducting any before bringing a product to market.
