I read the reviews listed for this sub, and based on those reviews, you would think this thing is a rockstar. It is far from it. I mean I didn't expect a whole lot given the price, and the fact that its a compact, but I was greatly let down by this product. I would definitely recommend looking into another alternative if you are cramped for space. Maybe an 8" or something else but not this thing.

this sub may look little but don't let that fool you, it can still blow you away with its bass. I installed it in my regular cab, 98 Dakota and it fit like a glove. considering buying a second one for the other side. would recommend this to anyone who loves heavy bass but doesn't have a lot of room to have a sub

Bought this for my wifes f150 supercrew and I was impressed!!! The other reviewers that said u can hear it outside the vehicle are correct! I can hear my wife come home from over 100ft away! I paired this sub with a Kenwood X500-1 500W Mono Amplifier also here on amazon and it sounds great!

I normally don't submit product reviews, but because I could not find any reviews saying this would fit my Jeep I decided to take a chance on buying it, and I was very surprised to find it appears that it was made for the Wrangler. I have a 2004 Jeep Wrangler X 2-door. The Pioneer sub can sit flat (sub side down) in the trunk area and has just a small space between the tailgate and the seat. The seat actually sits just over the lip of the box. The sub sounds great. I was surprised the level of bass it put out and the overall fill it gave the system. I hooked it up to a Kicker 200.4 amp in bridge mode for amp 1 and my front and head speakers I connected to amp 2 of the amp. The amp fits under my rear seat and the sub lays down like I said behind the seat and there's room to put groceries and stuff on top of the sub - it doesn't consume all the trunk space. If you are looking for a sub for your Jeep Wrangler that won't use up all your space and still sound great, I recommend this Pioneer. You could probably build your own box setup but this one is about as custom as you can get for the back of your jeep without any work.

I recommend this product to anyone who wants to make your music sound fuller, but does not want to shake the neighborhood when you drive by. But don't get me wrong, it is a powerful little thing!

I need a sub that had a small enclosure to fit in my Ford Ranger. Being a small cab the case needed to be able to be put behind my seats but still allow people to sit back there and allow me to use it to put my things. I love the fact that it has legs that prop it up and allow the sub to face down. Not to mention the bass on the sub was just what i was looking for. Not to loud but also not to quiet to where you couldnt hear the bass. This sub is good for those people that want to experience the low frequencies in songs but not wanting to drive down the neighborhood letting everyone know that they have a sub. 5 stars imo.

Just purchased and had this installed by a local audio shop (..should have bought it here at Amazon for half the price). Installed beneath the spare tire of my 2010 Honda Insight, this thing puts out immense sound for its tiny size and under-the-floor location.
Tested out with various Trap, Dubstep, Jazz, Power Metal and Orchestral music; verdict is a happy-smiling-head-bobbing music experience.
Kudos to Pioneer on this one.

This product really sounds great. Surprised that it comes from a subwoofer box of this size. You can mount it standing up or laying with the subwoofer up or down. Great product

I have this running on a Pioneer GM-D7500M amplifier (200W @ 4 OHMS) and am very impressed with the performance.
The sub did take several hours to settle in and I had to adjust the gain and crossover several times until I found the sweet spot. I increased the gain gradually over the course of a few days and am delighted with the quality of bass now.
When I first plugged it in I thought "Oh, is that it?" but after some patience and adjustments it really shines. I wouldn't recommend this sub if you like window shaking banging/thumping bass, but if you are limited on space (I didn't want a sub taking up the entire trunk) and looking for tight musical bass - this is a great choice. I also really like the fact that it is down-firing as it protects the woofer from getting poked or damaged, and allows me to lay items on top of it in the event that I am transporting something bulky in the back of my car. The box is extremely solid and tight - and has minimal branding on it, so it won't attract thieves. It pretty much disappears into my car's black carpet.
I have it sitting in the hatch area of a Honda Fit, with the little Pioneer amp installed under the driver seat - so it is an ideal sub set up for those of you looking for something more compact and discrete.
Remember - be patient and spent lots of time playing with the gain and crossover until you get the sound you want. And give it time to break in.
***4 Month Update***
I have owned this sub for 4 months now and am LOVING it. I really thought I would have to settle for "average" bass due to my desire to buy something small and compact, but this thing has exceeded expectations. It sounds great after having 4 months to break in (really, it seemed fully broken in after 1 month and has been consistent since then). The bass in musical and very satisfying.
Because of the down-firing design, I have never had to remove this thing from my trunk when hauling cargo - I just lay items over the top it when I have to. Even my wife loves this thing - and she wasn't into the idea of adding sub at all! After driving the car on her own, she has commented on the warmth/energy the sub brings to the stock stereo, and really appreciates the fact that her husband's sub isn't taking up too much space in the trunk.

This sub fits very snug under the read driver side seat of my 2005 Ford F150. I have only had it installed for 3 days but it is powered by a 300watt RMS 600 peak amp, and it sounds great.

I installed this sub under the rear seat of a 2008 Toyota Tundra Double Cab. Powered by a Rockford Fosgate R250-1D, this thing rocks. I wanted accurate, tight bass and that is exactly what I got. If you are looking for window rattling bass, this speaker is not for you. But, if you want accurate bass as a complement to a nice system, this is for you. Good quality unit for a great price.

This is a review for two products the Pioneer TS SWX251 10 SHALLOW SERIES PRELOADED ENCLOSURE and the
Boss Audio R1100M Mosfet Monoblock Power Amplifier $60.00.
I purchased these to replace the Infinity Bass Link sub that quit working one month after warranty, like many others who owned one. So I bought this set up. It has been about 30 days, Man, this set up hits hard and tight at any price range. I listen to a wide range of music everything from the Jefferson Airplane to Supertramp to Dream Theater, Spock's Beard ETC. On the older stuff a very nice warm bass. When Dream Theater is playing, Portnoy's kicks pound your butt and chest.
If you're looking for a low cost sub set up, you have found it. The speaker and amp will run about $185.00.
Update 8-17-2013.... WOW!! still rockin hard, sounds even better now that it is broken in.. I drive average 3 hours everyday, that stereo is playing all the time.

I have this laying in the trunk of my 2009 Civic. It takes up a small amount of space, but I can stack luggage on top if I need the space. The Pioneer GM-3500T amp driving it has plenty of power to drown out road noise on the freeway and rattle the trunk if I turn it up. Overall it is a great combination.

Had this sub professionally installed in my Ranger and couldn't be more satisfied. Great Bang for your Buck. Might want a bigger powerful system for a car or SUV but this is a perfect fit in my small truck

When I first received the product, the first thing that I noticed was the weight which was quite heavy; This is a good thing meaning it's good quality and the speaker counts with a good magnet. I had to wait a while for my amp, I went with an Alpine MRP-M500 which is a mono amp 500 watts at 2ohms (Affordable and good quality). Now to the sub; it performs outstandingly well. It has a smaller enclosed case so you don't really expect much, but, if you are looking for something that's not too crazy just to give you're car audio a wider spectrum on tones and frequency's then this is perfect! for being a 10" sub it sure packs a low punch!

I bought this sub for a truck enclusure with limited space. It produces large sound to be a small enclosure. Its a really great speaker when matched with a good amp and head unit. It really feels my truck with sound without the bulkyness of larger enclusures. I would recommend this to anyone with limited space in a car or truck.
