Got this for the kids for Christmas. I have three kids. It's tremendous fun! I like that the games are generally fairly active, and many are multiplayer.
The Wii Sports game that comes with it is quite fun. I've rated the other games I bought separately.
My only complaints:
1. Should support 720p or even 1080p video. The graphics are somewhat out of date.
2. If you have three kids, you can't just buy this. You also have to buy extra controllers and other accessories to get the most of it. The total package really adds up.
One upgrade I don't recommend getting is the Motion Plus. I've had a lot of issues with those (as noted in my review of them).
The Wii Sports game that comes with it is quite fun. I've rated the other games I bought separately.

I am 50 years old and I have to tell you that this game is the best toy I have ever had. I have so much fun with it by myself or with my husband. I love hitting home runs, taking batting practice and playing tennis. Not a big fan of boxing, but the training is fun and funny. I get such a kick out of the little Wii figures because they don't really have arms and legs. I play with the Wii game nearly every night while I am waiting for my husband to get home. I am actually toning up and getting better at the games. I hope to get a Wii Fit Plus when they are back in stock.

The Nintendo Wii is a great system. Albeit the Accessories you need or want to purchase on top of buying the system and expensive games are costly, and there is a lack of decent games for the Wii as it is. If you are looking for a system that would be fun to play with friends and family then I highly recommend the Wii. Easy to play games make it fun for all ages, but you will need to purchase expense wiimotes and nunchucks in order to have up to four players in a game. Its an addition $40 for each wiimote and another $20 for each nunchuck. Not to mention if you want to buy a charging station with rechargeable battery packs for your wiimotes (theres another $40 or so) and then there are the games you would buy for it and possibly the cost of Wii points to download games to your system. You might also need a memory card for the Wii if you intend to save a lot of data. All in all, its a good system but you have to know what you want it for. I personally bought it to play new versions of the Nintendo brand games I know and love. Also it does make a good game night with friends, so that is an added benefit.
The point: If you are willing to invest $250 just to buy the system, be prepared to spend another $250 or more on equipment and games, 3 more wiimotes and nunchucks alone with set you back another $180.
The future: I look forward to the day when gaming systems with become generic like televisions, and you only need to worry about which brand to buy because they all play the same games. Its a bright future, lets hope we get to that point. Then perhaps focus can be drawn to the games themselves and quality of gaming experiences will increase 10 fold.

Hi! I'm saving up for a Wii and I can't wait. I hope it'll be worth it to wait till' August, since I get $20.00 a month. Right now I have a dollar from doing some stuff, but the first game I'm gonna get is We Cheer, I think. I've watched cool music videos and the game looks so fun! My favorite song in We Cheer 2 is Homecoming by Hey Monday. So cool, and I love the rythm! Can't wait to get one!

This is really a good game for the family. We have a lot of fun. I got the item earlier, which was really good. That why I like to buy from Amazon, because so fa so good I haven't gotten no problem yet. I really recomend this game to any body. I was looking for this game all the stores over St. Petersburg, Bradenton, Clearwater Florida and no ones have it, but when I look in Amazon.com I saw it and I bought it right away. I'm a happy customer.

We are really enjoying our Wii. I am glad that I did some research to find out that not all bundle's come with everyting you need. As far as the Wii itself... we love it. We are really getting into the games and love how you have to get up and move in order to play the games we have.

I bought this because I had been playing the Bowling and Golf games on a friend's Wii. I hadn't tried the Boxing and Baseball games until I got my Wii, and found them to be fun as well. The Boxing in particular will give you a pretty good workout. And that's part of the fun of this game and system--it's very interactive, far more than these types of games on a PC, which I also have. I have tried a few other games on Wii, including driving (Need for Speed) and FPS (Resident Evil), but I find those types of games are better on a PC. The system itself is practically idiot-proof--extremely well thought out design, with superb instructions. I recently purchased Wii Sports Resort and it is even more fun.

This is surely fun for the entire family.
My 3 year old is very comfortable playing with it and even the 5 basic games that come with it are fun to play. There offcourse is choice to buy further games based on the individual's interest.
All in all, a great product

Wii is very easy and fun to learn. It is an excellent choice for beginners and families.
I was a little hooked up to it for its amazing motion sensing technologies that make playing games almost real.
However, I like to watch games in higher resolution and great attention to the details when it comes to graphics.
I hope nintendo comes up with a better version in that regard.
I wish someone comes up with a video gaming system that has great visuals and ease of playing.
For me, the next time its gonna be either a PS or Xbox for sure.

This is what the Wii is all about. Its not about the graphics. It is back 2 basics. Its a matter of making games fun again. It makes you want to play again and again.

After owning Wii & the Balance Board a few years, I decided to finally purchase a second Nunchuk. Now we don't have to share. I don't like spending money when something can be shared, but, hey, I'm not gonna look back. It's a done deal.I should add, that this nunchuk works great. We haven't had any problems with it.

The Wii is the one system most likely to bridge the long standing gap of age and gender that has plagued other consoles. My wife actually asks me to play the Wii with her this is a feat that wouldn't likely be recreated with the xbox360/PS3. If I have company over my Xbox 360 collects dust while the boys and girls get amped up for some Wii bowling. I have also gotten the baby boomer generation to join in with me and this would never happen with titles such as Halo or Metal Gear Solid (this is a generalization of course).
The Wii is the first real physically active console (I have actually been drippinng sweat before playing the Wii). Every game involves you to actually move around whether it's swinging your controller like a bat, bowling ball, racquet, boxing glove (this involves holding two controllers in your fist) or you name it. Gone will the days that gaming is just a sedentary experience. What a great way for young kids to play fun games while actually burning calories. Speaking of kids the Wii games tend to be family oriented so it will be much easier to find fun games that exclude all the gore/profanity(always check the ratings though).
The Wii graphics are good at best. Don't expect this console to be keeping up with the 360/PS3 because in this department it simply doesn't. This system lacks next gen graphics but that's overall ok because of the completely new direction the Wii has gone in.
My final thoughts are buy the Wii knowing that this is a family oriented console. Most popular main stream title games out there will be second rate on the Wii. Some of the finest Wii games are those made specifically for the Wii due to the completely different controls, like Wii bowling. This console really earns it weight in gold when played in a group settings.
Extra Note: The Wii Fit is really a must buy for the Wii it's going to cost an extra $90 but it's worth it.

My husband and I love the Wii! We have spent many hours playing and improving our skills. You won't be disappointed! An added benefit has been being able to downstream movies from Netflix. We had no idea we would be able to do this!

As soon as I took it out of the case, the stick did not work properly: it did not come back to center after I moved it. I myself have to move it with my thumb to the center, instead of it spring back to center. I thought of returning it, but gave up because I have all those process of returning.

when i got this console almost 6 moths ago... i had doubts about the wii, today i know it is the best gaming system, i have nothing but good things to say about this console, for those who are still between this and the others... get wii... xbox360 games? pfff thats what i have my pc for... and dont rrod or sounds like a jet turbine.

I'll try to keep this short. If Nintendo would clamp down and prevent bad games from being published I would have more respect for this console. I own a Wii and a PS3. The novelty of the motion controller wears off and both 360 and ps3 have one coming. A game doesn't have to have the best graphics (Zelda) to be good and it is way too far between a Galaxy or Zelda. I barely touch the Wii and even though I don't own one, I would recommend someone by an Xbox 360 over a Wii if they want to get more value for their money. A lot of people weren't around when the 2600 came out.... and left. Look up rhe wiki entry of shovelware. Nintendo needs to learn from Atari. We study history so we don't repeat it.

The biggest complaint I hear about the Wii is its lack of "Mature" content. The people who are complaining are totally missing the point. In a nutshell: if you are looking for a system that is "Bleed through your eyeballs" hardcore, than the Wii is not for you. If you are looking for a system that is simple, fun, and entertaining, than you've come to the right place.
PROS:
-Tons of extra downloadable content including classics from consoles past.
-Some really great games. I suggest: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Super Smash Bros. Brawl
-Detailed interface design. Lots of little touches that show that care and love went into the system.
-Compatible with all of your gamecube games/accessories.
-Fun for everyone, from your creepy Uncle Charlie to your emo nephew.
CONS:
-Library of games is comprised mostly of worthless mini-game collections and other mediocre software.
-As mentioned before, there isn't a whole lot for the hardcore gamer. The only example I can think of offhand is MadWorld but it contains enough blood, guts and language to make up for a lifetime of joy, puppies, and rainbows
-Motion control can become menial and tedious in lower-quality games.
-Graphics are lacking compared to other next-gen offerings.
Although it is a departure from the norm, the Wii manages to be is fun and worthwhile. I give it two thumbs up.

i bought the wii in summer 2007, thinking it would be really fun, sadly it was the worst thing i could ever think of spending 250$ on. the games are mostly crap, there is just a handfull of actual games on wii, and only about 5 or so that are somewhat worth playing. most games currently being released are either for very stupid children, or thier even more stupid parents who think a balance board is considered a game. currently i have only 8 wii games, the last one i purchased was super smash bros. which was in april 2008. the PS3 AND XBOX360 are way better purchases and offer actual games not some crap that looks like a mentally challenged ape designed it.

The games on the Wii are so much fun that you don't realize your muscles are working hard (until the next day!) I have had so many friends comment great reviews on the Wii. Would definately recommend!!! Definately try the Wii fit plus game.

I have wnated a Wii for a while. Finally, at some friends house, my husband and I played, and we had so much fun. I was able to talk him into getting one at last. We have really enjoyed playing playing the games, and we play when ever we have a chance.
