Outstanding camera. 14x optical zoom for zoom in on distant pictures. Insane macro for closeups. Works great in life light. The only downside, battery life not great. Overall, amazing value

I received this camera as a gift. I do not know much about camera's but this one didn't even compare to my camera of 10 years. I used this one for about 20 minutes between two days took 15 pictures and 2 videos and it shut off due to batteries exhausted. A few of the pictures turned out really blurry if there was any movement. I was not impressed with this camera. I returned it and got a canon powershot sx280 hs. So far it takes better pictures and the battery life has been better. Thank you for all of you who submit reviews because I spent two hours learning about different camera's.

It eats through batteries when trying to do video. It takes forever to take a picture and to save it to take another. I even lowered the resolution and it was still taking for ever to take a photo.

4 Stars -Well nothing is perfect. Not real happy with the way the flash works on the camera. Wait time for the flash to allow you to take a picture is way to long!! People keep saying "come on take the picture !!" it will not let you take a picture until the flash is charged. You say that is normal - but it is not charging until you hold the trigger down half way. You have to stand there ready to take the picture and wait - 15 to 25 seconds. Bad !!! Now outside and no flash pictures are great and fast. Just thought after reading all the reviews on this camera - "all rated it great" - that I wouldn't have a problem like this with this unit !!!!

Awesome camera! I love the photos that it takes and the wonderful video quality. It works really well with a universal tripod. However, while most people love the fact that this camera takes AA batteries, I do not. They do not keep the camera running nearly as long as a Li-ion battery, which is what my other camera took. So, that is the only major drawback.I reviewed this WAY more in depth on the Nikon website, so if you wanted a full spec check and review from both Nikon and myself you could take a look there as well. On the Nikon website, they offer videos and pictures taken specifically by this camera so you can really see the usage examples well.Hope this information helps.

I am not a photographer so this is quite good enough for my purposes. It is easy to carry, looks sharp, easy to use, makes good pictures, zooms way in, transfers easily to my laptop, and has some nice software with it. The only drawback is that it is hungry for ordinary batteries. I ordered some rechargeable batteries which gives much longer use in the camera than the ordinary alkaline batteries. The price was great for a camera of this sort.

This was the perfect camera for our trip to Mexico. I wanted a better camera that would print great pictures. Easy to use and not bulky.

bought it because my old cannon was technologically outdated. works great and makes all the decisions I do not or can not make as far as settings.

The reviews stating the battery consumption of this camera are dead on. I get battery low warnings immediately after starting up with brand new fresh rechargeables. You can ignore the warning for a few hours but then the camera starts to die and you need to change the batteries again. I love the motion blur and rapid picture taking capabiliity. Nice camera wish it was a little smaller so I can keep it in my pocket and not have to use the belt-purse holster.

When I received this camera and saw the excellent pictures it took for the price, I was really excited. And I was even more impressed with the low-light ability. But after having it for 2 weeks and have gone through 10 AA batteries, I have to withdraw my recommendation for this camera. It literally eats batteries. My last Kodak Easyshare would use 2 batteries in 2 weeks with my normal usage. Also, EVERY compact camera I have owned gives you a low battery warning so you can have time to change them before you lose that once-in-a-lifetime shot.This one does not. It will just die or freeze up. I really wish this wasn't so since I otherwise liked the camera. Nikon really messed up big time on this model.

I really like this camera, the quality of the material and what not is great.I love how much it can zoom in and still be an image or video! Of great quality.It is a digital camera, so if anybody thought this is one of those professional looking camera which you can buy a lens for is not.I used it for my son's Christmas recital, and I absolutely loved how much I could zoom in and still get quality videos and pictures. Once you get the hang of how it works it's actually a great DIGITAL camera.

User friendly, love the megapixels. Have to keep good quality batteries in it for shutter speed and no blur. Have made great prints of my artwork with this little camera, good camera for the price.

I wanted a camera with reasonable zoom and LOW LIGHT capabilities to carry in my handbag. I would have enjoyed a larger zoom, but it's low light capabilities are worth the trade off. Liked it so much, bought a 2nd one for my husband.

I bought this camera when I traveled in Singapore. This camera is really cheap and I satisfied with this. 18.1 MP CMOS is so enough for point and shoot. Beside when I move camera follow my daughter to take a shoot when she was walking, the image quality did not change. Interestingly, this camera has 14x zoom opt. It's a great ideal when take photo for landscape or in high building. As you can see, the design of this product is very good. I am very happy with the 18.1 MP resolution. On a small camera like this, this is great. Also, to have a 14X zoom lens isn't common when buying a point and shoot camera. This camera has most of the things you get when you buy an SLR, but without the bulk.If you are looking for a camera that can do it all. This should be your choice.

Got this camera because of the redesigned size and weight. Unfortunately the functionality did not meet my expectations. Shutter speed was sub-par regardless of the settings (auto or manual). Additionally, user will have to buy an Eye-fi compatible SD card in order to transfer pictures wireless. Still takes a great photo but expected more.

The battery does die fast. But it works great. Only problem is you have to hold real still to NOT take a blurry picture. Other than that, the pictures look great. I rarely have to turn the flash on! -that part was impressive!

First the card and battery compartment. The batteries are not secured as in other Nikon cameras, therefore you have to force the cover down to close it. I am not sure how long the cover is going to hold up.Second is the flash, It does not pop up when needed, the camera tells you to raise the flash.

Very nice at a good price.. Takes great pictures and is easy to use. I would buy another nikon in the future.

I normally shoot with a DSLR 5100 which I had to send for servicing. I had a cruise planned with no photo equipment. The purchase of this camera was a last minute thought that produced some very nice memorable shots. Now I take this camera when I am not in photographer mode. I still get great results.

Only drawback is the battery life. I put two brand new Duracell n by the end of day while on a trip I gave to replace the batteries. Make sure you always carry an extra set. Have lost a few good moments because battery was depleted.

This camera has a lot of options and works very well in low light conditions. Really like the image stabilization feature.
