So I got these along with the Sennheiser MM100's and Motorola S9-Hd's from a store going out of business (I'll be reviewing both at a later date). My test-bed was an iPhone 3Gs.The first pair I tried was the S9-HD's. These sounded pretty good and the fit was nice.The second pair I tried were the Senns and wow. These were pretty impressive. I thought there was no way a pair of bluetooth 'phones could compete with wireds, but alas, I was wrong. While not acoustically perfect (slightly anemic bass), these sound amazing.This brings me to the S305's. These look nicer than the Senns, but that's where the overtaking positives end. The sound is quite flat with a slight tinnyness to it, and has very little bass. The bass gets a little better if you press the phones against your ear, but who wants to do that? I tried every single eq setting and none made a difference. That being said, the iPhone is noted for having a relatively flat response, but the Senns offer decent bass response. Heck, even the S9-HDs have a relatively good low end. So there's no reason this particular set doesn't. And I'm not talking bass-head low end. I'm talking enough to provide a balance fill. The second issue I take with these, is they aren't particularly comfortable and make my ears sore after just a few minutes of use.Don't get me wrong, these aren't terrible. But not something to rave about either. There are better headsets for the price. (i.e. if you don't mind in-ear, the Moto S9-HD's are a good bet).

I liked these earphones so this is my second pair, but unlike my first earphones, my latest pair kind of stinks. For some reason, the power light won't turn off. When you turn the earphones on, they make a distinctive sound, and when you turn them off, they beep, but unfortunately, when I turn mine off, I hear the beep, the earphones turn off, but the power light stays on. This flaw definitely interferes with the earphones battery life. I'm not a happy camper!!!

Great headphones. buy them. Batteries last several hours on a charge. Soundgreat from the iphone. Works well with Pandora but wish there were a thumbs-downbutton on them.

I have had these for about 4 days and I love them. The work perfect for what I want. I use them with my cell phone, a Palm Pre while I am riding my bike or at the beach. The are loud enough and comfortable enough. The tips of my ears hurt at first, but that has gone away. Plus I actually have elf ears so there is that. I like the fact that they sit on the back of my neck and not over my head so I can wear a hat or a bike helmet and they don't get in the way. I wear a messenger bag so I couldn't deal with wires anymore. The phone also works really well. Hard to memorize which buttons to push when someone calls, but that should come with time. They hold a charge also.

I was somewhat nervous about ordering these after reading the other reviewers' experiences, but I decided they were cheap enough to take the risk.These headphones are working well with my 4th-generation iPod Touch, currently the newest model. The buttons do not rattle on my unit, nor do I have any problems with audio. Even the next/previous track buttons are working with this model. For distance, it doesn't have the power to reach from one end of my house to the other, but also affecting the signal is the fact that the rear-most room is an addition, beyond the original (insulated) back wall. So I see about 25 feet there and more elsewhere.There's only been one problem observed so far--the ipod's bluetooth needs to be activated before the headphones are turned on, or else the ipod can't quite figure out how to work them. It will claim it's connected, but won't show the icon to change playback device nor actually use them. A reboot of the headphones fixes the problem. This is similar to my experience with bluetooth cell phones in the past, where the device needs to be up and running before an accessory can connect properly.

My first pair worked for a few months then the charge light turned permanent red. I sent it back (1 year warranty) and after two weeks the same thing happened.When it worked, it worked well, but im now 0/2...

As far as i can tell, these are the best bluetooth headphones for the price. I do agree that extended use may cause SLIGHT discomfort to ears, but I hardly ever notice. Good range and sound quality (I'm no audiophile, but I use these for music and videos and the sound is just fine). Battery life is right around 6.5 hours as stated and I have left them on standby for days without the battery dying. Takes about 1-2 hours to charge. May feel flimsy but after you get used to them, you'll know they can take some abuse (I sometimes find myself twirling them on my fingers when bored). Highly recommended purchase.

First of all I got these for $35. Let me just type that again... $35!To put things in perspective, I've been looking for wireless phones for over a year. I spent $100 on a competing pair and everything about them is awful.These are lightweight, very comfortable, nice style, good quality material, decent battery life, reliable connectivity, reasonably priced and great sound.I've recommended them to several people who tell me they're very happy with their purchase.I'm very particular about my electronics. I like to be comfortable and I don't believe you have to spend a lot of money.Motorola really outdid themselves with the S305s.

Outstanding experience. This was so reasonably priced that I did not expect much out of them. What a surprise!!! The sound quality is outstanding and it is very light weight. One thing that is not generally advertised about this headset is that it has a very effective microphone. I intended to use this for listening to music, but now I also use it with my 4G phone as a fully functional head set. The microphone is a tiny hole on the headset!!! Overall, I could not be happier with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone.

I use this headset at the gym 5 days a week, 2 hours a day (non-stop). It never disappointed me. I lift heavy weights and run afterwards. I sweat a lot and I've never seen any problem with this headset so far. I use it with Iphone 3GS to listen to Pandora and Shoutcast.

I listen to podcasts while at work. When I purchased my ipad I didn't want to carry it around with me all of the time with my wired set. I purchased these based upon two criteria, 1. Bluetooth and 2. Under $50. These are the best headsets that I have ever owned.I work in a steel building and though bluetooth is normally limited to 30 feet I receive signal up to 50 ft from my desk. I would encourage anyone to purchase because they are crystal clear and you can synchronize to your phone and ipod/ipad at the same time.

The Motorola S305 headset is a great product. I read review after review on the in ear bluetooth headphones, and they all had numerous problems, mainly with sweat affecting the controls. This was a definate concern of mine as I sweat profusely when I work out. I have had these headphones for about 6 weeks, and I work out 4 times a week. I do 20 min on an eliptical, 45 min of weights, and an additional 10 min on the eliptical to finish up my workout. I'm sweating heavily through my entire workout and have had no problems, although I do wipe my face quite a bit to keep the sweat out of my eyes so maybe that helps but I do have long hair that covers my ears. As I'm writing this review, the thought crosses my mind that maybe I'm going into too much detail about my sweat, but I am just trying to get my point across that if there were going to be problems with sweat harming this headset, I would have the problems.Pairing this device with my iPhone 3Gs was very easy. The sound quality is great, and I dont have problems with the signal cutting out. I have used these indoors and out, and have had no problems with the connection. I detailed my car the other day and used them for about 3hours...they are loud enough to listen while I was using my shop vac, and my steam cleaner. The fit is pretty good for an hour or 2, but after I finished putting all of my equipment up (about 3 1/2 hours total#, there were spots behind both ears that were a little tender from the plastic that goes around the back of your head. Nothing too bad, as it was gone the next morning.Overall, I love these headphones!! Wireless is the way to go for me. Great headset for the price. The only negative I have found #aside from the uncomfortable fit after wearing them for almost 4 hours, but what headphones wouldnt be uncomfortable after that long) is that they get a little warm on your ears, but this is to be expected from over the ear headphones. Don't hesitate if you are looking for an affordable, quality bluetooth headset!!

I had thought that these were only headphones, but you can talk to people with them, too. I have asked people about the sound quality on their side, and they don't know that I am using a bluetooth headset. I have heard some headsets and they sound terrible when people talk into them. These sound great!The battery life is awesome! I can jam out on my phone all day without it quitting on me. The phone dies before the headset.Connection was an easy process. It took a minute, maybe less.

Don't buy this product if you sweat at all.These things are not sweat proof. The minute they get wet, they short out.I have replaced 5 of them.

this product is one of the cheapest and best that motorola makes. i owned the $100 pair and they never got loud enough, the signal would get glitchy when you walked or ran outside. they only worked right indoors for some reason, and if you stayed still. these headphones though the s-305's, are great, they get super loud and there is no signal disruptions when you move around. these are a great buy if you are looking for a great inexpensive bluetooth headset.

These headphones are very nice and they operate my iphone 4 very well, both for music and for the hands-free telephone. The only thing I don't like it the band that "floats" behind the head prevents me from resting my head against a pillow or from reclining back in my recliner. If I try to rest the back of my head against something, the headphones will push frontwards and off from my ears. So I have to always be sitting upright when listening to them.

Let me start by saying that I've had this for about a year, and use it everyday. I use it while biking to work and when working out. I used it initially with BB 8330 and now with HTC Incredible. No complaints regarding pairing, incoming and outgoing call quality, controls and ease of use. Work well for music. Please refer to the many reviews with four and five stars for an accurate description of the pros of this device.I wanted to report a fairly annoying aspect of the device:It does not work well with water!That may seem obvious, but this headset is more fragile than expected when confronted with humidity/sweat. The first time I ran with it, it started drizzling, the the headset promptly shut down. I brought it back home slightly wet and quickly put in in my table-top oven. I set the oven at about 100F and left it in there for 5 min. Repeated the treatment a few times before I connected it to power. It fired back up without a glitch. (I've used this technique with accidentally wet BB 8330 and iPod touch as well. Works like a charm. Before you ask why my devices get wet in the first place... please note that I ride to work very frequently, and some days the skies do not agree with my carbon foot print reduction plans!) But, I digress. So, this thing has happened at three other times with exposure to simple sweating while running outside (x2) and a recent exposure to rain.I don't know if this a problem with just my device. Otherwise the device works great!

The main problem that I have with these headphones is that the sounds cuts out or stutters I guess you could say. I thought that it might be interference from my body as other reviewers had indicated, but it happened at the gym when they were nowhere near me. Also, they are not very comfortable since the back strap does not adjust at all.One of the more irritating things they do is to turn on whenever they want to and disrupt my actual use of my phone. If I am using my phone anywhere near them, my call will revert over to them, even when they are off. This may be a iPhone issue but it is very frustrating. I'm hoping amazon will take them back as they are completely unusable as they are.

EDITED: 8/12/09 - Original Review at the bottomWent for a hard 40-minute run on a treadmill this morning and was sweating profusely. I guess my sweat finally found its way into the controls after several weeks of owning these. I can no longer power off my headphones and as soon as I turned off my Bluetooth receiver on my iPhone, the headphones went dead. Now I can't turn it on or off and charging it does nothing. Going to have to call Motorola to get it replaced.=============ORIGINAL REVIEW=============================================================I mainly need these for exercising and rarely use it for talking on the phone. Let's just put it this way, I only use them for exercising and will occasionally get a phone call while using them. So my most important requirement is that these are sweat proof. I am training for a marathon so you can imagine how long my running workouts are and I sweat like crazy. My previous set of wired headphones were Sony padded, over-the-ear one-piece headphones that fit behind your ears. Those worked EXCELLENT and were pretty comfortable for anything up to an hour. After that, the band behind the ears would get a little irritating but that's normal for behind-the-ear headphones. The Motorola S305 is no different.I've only had the S305 for about a week but I've managed to do several hour long workouts with them and made sure I was sweating heavily. No problems yet! My previous set of Bluetooth headphones were the Motorola S9-HD and although people said this was more sweat proof than the Motorola S9, I still managed to short out the volume control buttons from sweat. The design just doesn't work because they are earbud style so I knew I needed something like my old wired headphones (i.e. padded over-the-ear and behind-the-ear).I came across these on Motorola's web site and decided to get them through Amazon. The build quality seems a little cheap but that could be because they are super light and the band that wraps around the back of the your head is very thin. So, the pieces that go over your ears sort of dangle around a bit. Not sure why Motorola made the band so flimsy. I loved the feel of the S9-HD because the Bluetooth transmitter was on the band behind your head. The S9-HD was very sturdy and felt solid compared to the S305. But I'd give that up for something sweatproof anyday! So, the S305 has performed awesome despite my sweat. Because of the design, no sweat (or very little) gets on anything other than the pads. So everything else stays dry and things are working happily. No shorts.LOVE THEM! These are the ones to get if you want something inexpensive, light, and sweatproof!!

I just bought these to use with my Xoom, and so far so good. I was listening to Dark Night of the Soul (ASIN: B003TJ3OY8) within 2 minutes of getting them out of the packaging and charged up (Motorola, what were you thinking on the packaging? I had to take a box cutter to the packaging to free them!). Sound quality is great, controls are easy to find by touch. I'll update later if I have any issues.

These perform great. The controls are perfect. Works like a charm with iPhone (iPod, pandora, iheart, etc.) Found setting up on Windows 7 a little less convenient. The bundled drivers from Windows7 on my Dell were a no go. Had to scour other reviews to find. Sounds clear. Good range. Nice battery life. Only thing I could use is a charger for home and my desk at work.

ALl I can say is don't listen or pay attention to any of the bad reviews you see or hear. I got this headset about 5 months ago and they are STILL going strong. They are light weight, cause no pain what so ever to the ear and a VERY durable! Will never trust any other Brand except Motorola as far as headsets go because they clearly know their stuff!

I have tried headset's with a wire, the little things you plug in your ears, speakerphone, etc. but this headset is fantastic! I hear perfectly, whether in a car, or walking in the woods. The other best part is the people I'm speaking with can hear me better than with any other device before and I'm using the same phone as always.
