much better than my laptop camera, good image quality, good microphone, I am quite satisfied.the foldable thig is by the way a little bit crappy, I would prefer something more stable

I purchased this webcam after getting tired of having to turn on all the lights in the room in order to get my built-in webcam on my laptops to show a decent image during video chats. I use it mainly with Skype and haven't had any issue with the built-in microphone on the webcam picking up the audio from my speakers. The image quality and image contrast compared to the built-in webcam on my notebook is like night and day.I could be in a dark room where the only light provided in the light from my monitor and the person I'm video conferencing with will swear the lights are on in my room. With my notebook's built-in camera I could not be seen.The only downside is you need to check what computer you're using this with. I tried this on two netbooks, one with an Intel Atom and another with an Dual Core AMD Fusion and you could feel the system dragging while the camera was in use.The camera folds up nicely making it easy to travel with.It's a wide lens so you can move a bit without going off camera.I was so impressed with this webcam that I purchased a second one of these units as a gift.

The C525 is my first webcam. I have found it to be more than adequate for my needs and have recommended it to many family members & friends. I even bought one for my mother! It is small and could easily fit in someone's pocket. I highly recommend this product.

Length:: 1:10 MinsThe 75 second video is intended as a supplement to the written review so that you can see for yourself how well my fairly standard computer can record 720p, and thus get an idea if your computer can benefit from a 720p recording device. This is important to consider because even the manufacturer mentions that many computers cannot keep up with the recording. I mention my system specs in the video.It's a well designed webcam. It is very small, and the ability to protect its own lens is great. They supply ~5 ft. cord that - wrapped up - takes up about as much room as the camera itself, which allows a connection between a desktop and a separate monitor. Better would have been if they used a standard micro USB connector or some kind of cord wrap system to keep all that out of your way and allow you to use a 30cm cord for connection to your laptop.The actual optics seem great and the autofocus works pretty well. Even Win XP SP2 allowed me to use the camera function (no video) immediately without installing any software. The software that comes with it eats up nearly 300MB of ROM (that includes their own calling application and editing software that you don't need to install) and only tries caducously to take over your computer (a registry edit and startup menu delete gets rid of unwanted reminders and useless junk running in the background). Oh...I noticed one typo in their software, which is unacceptable, and it also keeps telling me that it doesn't recognize the mic (which is built into the camera), but it records sound anyway.The design allows for mounting on a monitor 26mm thick or less, but I suppose you could sort of lay it on top of a CRT monitor with no problems. It also allows for a fairly stable mounting on a laptop.Great device that I would recommend, but I had to take off a star for less than perfect portability and some software blips.

as always i am again satisfied with this Logitech purchase. for being 720 it certainly doesn't seem like it, the picture quality is incredibly sharp on Skype. it also has a nice auto-focus feature which is kinda helpful i suppose. something i didn't know when i bought the camera was that it also had a mic built in, great for Skype or video calls on any program. probably would have gone without the mic on my headphones if i had known that. no complaints for me on this product. would absolutely recommend it.

Love the size and image quality produced by this little webcam. But it took me hours to install. I tried installing both the drivers and software from the install disc, and updated versions downloaded from the website. Both versions caused blue-screen-of-death fatal crashes on my PC with a fresh Windows 7 Pro 64-bit install. Had to reformat the drive in order to get rid of the drivers, as uninstalling didn't work. Finally got the webcam to work (with no crashes) on a fresh windows install by letting Windows pick a default driver. So I scrapped the manufacturer's software entirely. I lost the functionality of all of the extra software that came with the unit at that point, but at least the webcam finally worked....Update - Windows tried to update the drivers by pulling new drivers automatically from the manufacturer's website. It has been almost two months since my earlier review, and I hoped that the drivers had been updated, so I let Windows perform the update. Big mistake. As soon as I open Skype, again the system instantly crashed. Again, uninstalling the drivers will not get rid of the problem, and the system will still crash when Skyps is opened. This time I was finally able to restore the computer to an earlier restore point to get rid of the new drivers. But I have lost all image quality, and the camera is working at a very low resolution.I would *not* recommend this web camera for anyone who is running Windows 7.

This webcam works so much better than the one that came pre-installed on my HP laptop. I opened the box and removed the small device -- and that was the hardest part of setting up and getting ready to use this camera! Once I'd put the camera atop my monitor, I placed the CD in the drive and it walked me through the install. I've previously been using Skype to make my video calls, but I like this Logitch Vid HD so much better! The sound, picture quality and ease of contacting friends and family suits my needs.The video is much more crisp and not so affected by my movements in front of the lens. It automatically refocuses as I move in and out or change position! The sound doesn't seem to lag as much as my other webcam and I really like that. The camera does swivel about 360 degrees so you can position it to view other things in the area if you like. I don't upload to Facebook, Twitter or YouTube but the package says it can be done with one click (I'm not that into social media sharing). I use this mainly to communicate privately one on one with my family who live out of town. I'm sure there are many more features of this webcam that I won't be using, but it's nice to know they are available if the mood strikes.The only drawback is that I prefer to have a printed instruction sheet or booklet with my electronics for quick referral without having to go to a disk or to a website. I think it would also be nice if the package included a small carrying pouch for when you want to pack up and take the fold and go compact camera with you.Recommend to anyone who is looking for a relatively inexpensive HD webcam for personal use.

Fed up with the pathetic performance of the cam built into the bezel of my Lenovo, I bought the C525 and am completely satisfied. I didn't use the supplied CD but instead let Windows 7 find updated software online, and installation was truly plug and play. In use, the colors are always accurate even in low-light conditions, and the autofocus keeps the image crystal clear. The cam base folds out to hook over the top of your screen, held in place by gravity, and then folds up compactly to protect the lens when you toss it in your laptop case for travel. One quirk I've noticed - and I suspect this is a problem in Skype's software rather than the webcam driver - is that occasionally during a Skype session the cam will restart, sometimes in a different aspect ratio. It might flip from 16:9 to 4:3 and back again a couple of times during a conversation, and each time it does this it restarts the cam so that the Logitech utility screen pops up. A little annoying, but all you have to do is close the utility window and carry on. Overall, it's the best cam in its class that I've found.

This webcam is the best I've used so far. I've been using Skype for video calls for over 3 years and used various laptop (HP and MacBook), older Logitech, and Microsoft HD webcams; they have all been OK but this webcam beats them all by a long way. The 720p HD is really clear and everbody has said it's the best picture they have seen. The built in mic also seems to be pretty good, and works well in combination with my HP laptop speakers. If you want to improve your Skype video calls for a very reasonable price this is the right camera. I would recommend you update the drivers, as prior to that Skype did get stuck once saying the webcam was in-use when it didn't appear to be, it hasn't done that since the update.Set-up:HP G70 laptop, Windows 7Skype, v5.5.0.124The C525 webcam, with the latest driversTime Warner Road Runner

No need to install anything plugged in drivers immediately updated and it ran within seconds its looks amazing through skype and the mic is amazing i bought this and sent to my house and my family got it to work with ease i got everything up and running thorough team viewer and i was video chatting with my family withing minutes great quality for the price on video and audio, the Autofocus is a dream, i would recommend this product to everyone who wants a webcam.

My main home computer is a Mac Pro (cheese grater) and does not have a built in camera. It's been a trial to find a webcam that is compatible with Photo Booth and other native Apple OS X apps; Apple's own iSight is long gone.To my surprise this one works natively. The compatibility chart seems to indicate that the Logitech C525 does not work with OS X, but that is not correct. I have had no trouble with Skype, iChat, Photo Booth and so on. I do not know if it works with Lion as I haven't yet upgraded. I bought the Logitech to replace another non-Apple webcam that simply stopped working with the upgrade to Leopard or Snow Leopard; that one needed some driver that was incompatible with the new OS.

I bought a different webcam from another vendor and was not satisfied with the quality. This product, although the same size and nominally with the same specs (HD 720p)gave better quality. The software allows you to have the camera focus on your face. There are some options to add special effects, but I haven't used them because I'm not interested in them. The product is very compact (about 2 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches tall) and light - a little too light for my taste because I have a regular CRT monitor, and although the top of the monitor is flat, the webcam is not stable. I solved this by using masking tape to hold the camera in place. The microphone is quite adequate for Skype, but if you want to record songs, I'd suggest a better quality mike. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the C525.

Length:: 0:16 MinsI need a webcam to use Skype mainly. Have no reason really to make videos with it, but I tested it and they are reasonably good. It worked flawlessly out the box and was easy to setup and install with no glitches. I could not decide between this C525 and the C615 and basically flipped a coin (the cheaper webcam won!). It was a little smaller than I imagined but it has excellent quality in my home office where previous webcams and my IPAD have looked poor due to the lighting. It was very clear and crisp, and the zoom and pan worked well. (Remember this is a $45 device. It is not a professional videocam). It is portable and easy to pick up and point at another person in the room.The primary thing I want to comment on for others is the clip. I was concerned about this aspect. I have an older 20" flatscreen that has a curved top with a small raised bevel around it.It barely fits on the side of the screen and does not fit at all in the middle. However, the bevel came to the rescue. It is attached to the bevel fairly securely and it works well like that. Without the bevel it would have been an issue, but I studied it and figured that Velcro would probably work well, (Did not try it. The only point with Velcro is to ensure it is close to the front edge so it has room to swivel in both directions.The video attached is poor and the camera is a black blob (from my IPAD in poor lighting) but I wanted to show the attachment to my monitor and how Velcro might work on the flat part of the top if needed.
